Tablespace design layout

Hi all

I would like comments on database design, focusing particularly on storage space.

First of all, I gave an existing database (v11.2.0.3) and asked to move it to a new virtual machine,

6.4 RHEL, that connects to a San where the drive bands are on 100 + physical disks running.

Whoever created the original database felt the need to create individual storage spaces for all

unique tables to tables partitioned (all partitions in same tablespace), for all sorts of crazy combinations.

I talked with the owners of the database, if I could consolidate tablespaces 150 + to something much easier to manage.

They agreed and said everything is internal and that they don't care how I layout storage space.

So my question is, what logic should I use for grouping as tables in a lot less tablespaces.

When I import I use REMAP_TABLESPACE = < OLD >: < NEW >

So, my thought was to create essentially 6 tablespaces (to consolidate tablespaces 150 +).

First of all, separation of the DATA in the INDEX.

So I thought:

static data (data that does not get changed, but may be archived and removed at some point).

index of static data

dynamic data (data that gets changed a lot)

index of dynamic data

staging data (which is placed in temporary migration tables to the permanent tables)

intermediate data index

Any other logical separations: such as BUSINESS segments, or partitions?

Keep in mind as I said, we are at the distribution our LUN on 100 + physical disks.

And, I usually spread my types of data files on separate LUNs 4

one for system and sysaux,

one of temp and cancellation

one for the 'data '.

one of the indexes.

(of course, I LUN separate archiving logs, the redo1 and the redo2, backups and the oracle binary, but it's irrelevant to what I'm asking)

Alternatively, would it not more logical to simply throw all together in a single table space, or one for data and one for the index?

  • Fluid design layout is still supported in 2015?

I'm confused by the references to bootstrap.  Can I use fluid layouts in the new version?

    Thank you!

Yes, but they are now considered "Legacy encoding" (Adobe Wizz you to use a bootstrap instead, especially for new sites).

You can always change them as fluid grids (without design view), but it would probably be best to start over with Bootstrap, it is a much more powerful framework (and hopefully, less glitch) and has both living and design views available.

It is not known how long they will keep the ability to change the "Legacy Code" in the program.

  • Design layout of text in After Effects or...?

I need to produce a motion, it displays the menu items and prices (similar to a takeout menu).

I don't know what the best way to address the issue. Should I create the page layout in After Effects or not?

If I don't need animate the text, is it more efficient only design in Indesign and exporting as a pdf or image file?

We greatly appreciate any recommendations or advice?

I almost always put in page complex text in Illustrator or Photoshop with the text in its final position. It is easier and faster, and there is better alignment tools. If I intend to use animations to text so usually I'll layout of the text in Photoshop, because you can convert text from Photoshop to editable text layers, and, unfortunately, this is not a feature yet implemented in it HAVE - AE workflow. You can get complex projects of text created in Illustrator into Photoshop with editable text layers, if you use the export function in artificial intelligence, but you may need some rearranging layers in Photoshop to get the project to work directly in AE as a model.

If I was doing something like takeout menu of the restaurant and I wanted to use animations of text I would create the Photoshop document in the aspect ratio of the width of your finished AE comp menu so let's say that the menu real life was 9 X 12 inches, then the Photoshop document would be 1920 X 2560. Layout of your menu with each item of text you want to animate on a separate layer, give up the layer effects, and then import the Photoshop file as a model while the dimensions of the layer, create your text animations using text animations, then nest the menu layout in a standard HD model and animate the position and scale of the menu. I do a lot of this sort of thing and this workflow is much more effective than to try to create a layout of complex text in AE with the limited text tools available.

I also have a good amount of work in In Design for use in After Effects. That's where you get some really amazing text tools. In the design of Illustrator to PDF, then Illustrator Photoshop via export, then Photoshop for AE as a model.

  • Design layout all scrambled after update Muse CC

After upgrading to the latest version of CC Muse, a site I'm working on that now seems very strange in design mode.  The text is larger and in a different font and misplaced.  The strange thing is that the site has always look as it should when I saw in the browser or view the site online.  While it is good that the direct site remains exactly as I designed it, changes in mode creation is now quite difficult due to how the page layout appears incorrectly.  Here are the screenshots of a page in design mode and preview mode.  The only change I made is the upgrade of Muse CC.  What could be the cause of this problem of page layout in Design view?

  • Which is the best for design: Layout Editor 11g vs Plugin Word

    Hello

I need information about the design of the model which is the best to use the Layout Editor in BI 11g or plugin Word publisher.

In my workplace, we are unable to decide which one to use for the design template.

Tried on google but have not found any useful information.

    Share your ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

The new layout BI Publisher Editor to create reports which have an available interactive output type. The interactive Viewer allows to popup details, tables scrollables, filtering the table, table sorting and filtering through the various components of the report.

So, if you are interested in providing this kind of functionality, you can design reports with the layout editor.

Take a look at designer's guide of reports 11g for more details. Also, take a look at this: http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2011/02/interactive_reporting_with_bi.html

  • Why have you changed the design, because Firefox 31 seems bad? Please go back to the previous design layout.

Why engineers feel they need to take any 'better '? I liked the previous versions, I do not like this version. You force change as a Government totalitarion. If you insist on this ugly design, it should be an option to convert. This is similar to the Gnome 3.0 problem, but at least they gave plugins of conversion.

  • What Email layouts / Design works for you and for what purpose?

There are several books on web design and usability, but when it comes to email there is a little less information.

From my experience, the page layout (just the high-level design / position of the text and buttons) must correspond to the intention. In addition, a delicate design helps multi-device compatibility.

A guide used in previous experience has been of MailChimp that describes the number of layout of columns and discuss the purposes. Smashing Magazine was also an inspiration with the many directives for example driven.

What are your thoughts, what page/design layouts worked for you, reached the right click by rate or the objectives of the emails?

  • Columns "bootstrap" mode DW CC 2015 package Design

The design of the layout in 2015 CC DW no standard bootstrap columns render correctly - he always breaks them on a second line, regardless of the width of the application window to DW.

This makes unnecessary design layout to the design of Bootstrap.

Can I do to solve this problem?

Use live view.  Because the bootstrap uses CSS and javascript for rendering, you must preview the pages in Live view to see the real results of bootstrap.  Unfortunately, there is no way around that.

The provision is too broad.  I see a horizontal scroll bar in all windows.   The whole point of RWD is optimization of layouts and never must scroll horizontally to view the content.  Click on the screenshot.

You also have a CSS code in the menu that makes no sense. For example, z-index does nothing except on the components in position.  Width: 220%, is that all?  I propose to replace the menu, that you now by a reagent.

  • He'll be on CSS-Designs

The new feature 'content' with the new textfields, where the text is updated on all layouts (desktop, Tablet, phone) is incredibly awesome!

But miss me the most characteristic, which would make work much easier and faster for the design layout.

For now, I need to redraw each layout by hand.

Lets say, I have a Page "NEWS" for example and a textfield with the same content on each page layout. "." There is differentiation stlyes in a text box:

    -The section

    -Text

Each style is defined by its own.

Now, there's a way, where I can define different styles for each structure. Lets say my phone available, I want the title to be a bit larger and have a different color, I can adjust the style and say phone shoud you have settings xy and Tablet these.

This way I could create a new text box, or update a text box existing, with the new content feature, style (in a layout) and muse automatically styles styles related, because he knows, if you use this style of office, use these settings in the mobile or tablet.

So I don't have to manually edit all styles.

It would be great, if something happens like that!

    Best regards

    Markus

Thanks for the suggestion, now we need to do it manually by creating the style and applying to the content given time. That would be a feature request where the style is applied automatically by selecting the content.

    Thank you

  • layout and fluid grid div tags

so now, I start my journey of learning the layout feature fluid grid dw6.  just started and have already fallen on a problem. When to create a div, I prefer to give them a width and height seems just to help put on the page, but in fgl when I put the value for these it just seem to ignore it, is this true?  If so, how does this work?

    Hello

The idea of using a fluid grid presentation is that the size of the div elements will adjust themselves based on the width different screen sizes.

It is difficult to say without seeing your design/layout that you work to say whether or not you should actually try to set the fixed width and height for your div elements fixed width setting is fine if you are designing a traditional presentation, fixed width, it can help you to read this article on the differences between fixed vs fluid layouts http://coding.smashingmagazine.com/2009/06/02/fixed-vs-fluid-vs-elastic-layout-whats-the-r ight-one-for-you /
