  I do a simple real design. I have a PC touchscreen computer.  Call the 2 lines with my finger. I want the two rows to have the same weight - not thick or thin - only a consistent size to a point or a thickness.  Well when I have a large size - the lines are a uniform 1'.  But when I reduce the 2 lines, the left swirl becomes thick and thin. When you make the reduction I like uniform scale. I used the round brush, swirl on the right line is fine when it reduced.  I need to be a single layer - you can see the curve of the top line that it thickens when design is reduced.  I had no entered fill. Driving me crazy - can not get the left line is a single layer, and I have to use it in a real small - so there must be a single thickness of the lines.  Someone help me?

  

  It is perhaps the issue of blob with calligraphy brushes.

  What you can try is to apply the effect zigzag with a size of 0

  Then set "curves by segment" (or whatever it's called) until the blob has disappeared (can be a high value)

  What I will meet situations when I get a PDF file to client that must be changed. When they load in Acrobat Reader, it works fine. However if I load in Illustrator it asks me to point to the linked file. The question is how Acrobat Reader to open a PDF file and display a linked file when it is not incorporated? Why Illustrator cannot do the same?

  For the associated images, your PDF file contains a thumbnail image as well as the reference or the address of the actual image. Player will show this vignette. Now, you want to change the PDF in Illustrator, he wants to allow you to work on the actual image. That's why it asks you to point to the linked file.

  1. If I buy a 'new' Illustrator 10 from Amazon it will install on my mac 10.5 version or my computer is too new for this program?

  2. If it settles, can I open the PSD in Photoshop elements files in illustrator 10 and save as illustrator EPS files?

  I don't know anything about Illustrator, but I'll dive in as soon as I get it.  I really just need to open the PSD and convert it using Illustrator 10.  They need the vector files.  I just need these questions answered before you buy the program.  Thank you

  If you're talking about the design of T-Shirts involving multiple colors, you really should be using a program (whether raster or vector) able to print color separations. You can do with what you use, but you will need to work in black and white only.

  Basic questions to ask at the shop of the screen:

  • What do you use for your "film positive" with which you expose your screens? (Ex: impressions laser on vellum translucent or clear acetate; litho real films shot on a device of original thought... process)
  • Can you maintain screens tint or halftone; or are you limited to the art of the line?
  • If you can print the tintscreens or the halftone, what is the ruling of maximum line you can hold?

  You can open an EPS with Illustrator file (pretty well regardless of what program exported EPS). But that doesn't automatically make the needs of the shop of the screen. Forget the EPS. It is the nature of the content that matters.

  EPS is a metadata format. Think it's just a "warpper" or a "black box" that can hold different types of data objects which are understood by a PostScript device.

  For example: assume that your work is an RGB of halftone image you built in Photoshop and then exported in EPS file. Open the EPS in Illustrator and then give to the shop of the screen is not accomplish anything. After opening in Illustrator, you then just a native Illustrator file that contains a RGB raster image.   Big misconceptions:

  • Simply open a file (regardless of format) in Illustrator is not magically that he "vector".
  • Being fully vector is not magically, ensure that it the limitations of repro of MOM & filter anti-pop stores.

  No matter whether you are creating the linework in Photoshop or Illustrator (or more any other mainstream graphics program), you can save it as a PDF ready to print. This PDF can be opened and printed by the shop of MOM & pop screen using nothing more than the free software Adobe Reader.

  But the content of this PDF (e.g.: the art of the black line continues; a page by ink) is up to you to create properly. This requires only to understand the fundamentals of color separation and the creation of your work accordingly.

  You can get this by using one of the following 3 ways:

  calligraphy brushes when you have a Tablet

  art forms (with a properly prepared art brush)

  width profiles

  width profiles can not be combined with calligraphy brushes. I guess that's your problem. You must define a basic stroke in order to apply a width profile. But then you must use the pencil, not the tool Brush tool.

  I've been using illustrator to create a model complex of medieval sources, its irregular so I had to get physically using my Tablet rather than forms. However, I just realized that one section, I drew with the Brush tool to paint instead of the form of the task I had used. I don't know if I used the right tool at first, but now the sections don't fit on the overall picture even if they have the same size of pt etc. Can I change something how they were drawn quickly, or I have to redraw the object?   The blob brush draws stokes immediately deployed in forms.

  The Brush tool draws paths that have a stroke applied. So you can easily change the path, and you can change all the options (including the option to apply a totally different brush) brush.

  You can expand easily just the brush stroke. Select all the paths that you have drawn with a Brush tool and use the object > expand apperance. Based on the other blob brush settings, you may also use pathfinder functions to combine all forms.

• Quality of the vectors in Illustrator CS6

  I've recently upgraded to CS6 and have a problem of vectors looking like they are pixelated. I don't know what it is. I work in a print document CMYK with high pixelation on (300 dpi) and aligned to the pixel grid is not lit. I uploaded three photos to illustrate what I'm talking about. The photos are all of the same O at 200%. The first screenshot is in Illustrator CS5. The second is what I see with the same shape in Illustrator CS6. In addition, so we are clear, I have not seen pixelated as the third screenshot shows the view with preview pixelated on. When I zoom back everything just fine together, makes it difficult to see the whole of creation - which, as you can imagine is pretty frustrating. I keep thinking there must be something with the display settings - but nothing I touch seems to make no difference. I really liked to switch to the CS6, but this question is really making me think otherwise. Help please?

I would like to be able to vary the size of the brush by assigning a keyboard shortcut to the express keys or touch the band of the tablet. The only shortcut keyboard I can find is shift + b. that takes me right to the Blob Brush tool window. Is there a way to vary the size of the brush on the fly using up/down arrows, etc.. ?
