Tap the wire of the damaged Panel: Dell XPS 15 9530

Hi, my XPS 15 9530 touch screen no longer works. The thread for the touchscreen that emanates from the display panel and goes into the motherboard seems to have burned to a point. I don't know why it burns all of a sudden. Is there a way I can change this thread without replacing the whole display unit?

Any help or suggestion is appreciated...

Thank you

(ps: I m out of warranty)

Unfortunately, no - Assembly is melted and the adhesive.  It is very unlikely, you would be able to remove the glass without breaking, and even less likely you will end up with an Assembly of work when you re - assemble.

There are two possible causes - a wire shorted out of being crimped together is one.  A second would be a fault of power with the motherboard that has sent too much power through the cable and fact it is overheating.  You can consult the repair to a professional so that they can determine what happened before spending hundreds of dollars on a screen only to find out that you need to spend as much or more on a replacement of the motherboard as well.

  • Dell XPS 15 9530 Boot stuck at the logo

    Hello

I have a Dell XPS 15 9530 with only 10 of Windows installed. After a simple reboot that I noticed that the boot process has started taking a long time (> 5 minutes), but in the end, Windows starts correctly and evertything worked well. I run the diagnostic test and no error is returned.

Then I tried to restore the BIOS to defaults setting and now the trunk seems to take more time, I'm still waiting for 30 minutes ago.

The boot process stuck at the point where the Dell logo is visible (I think until all treated windows starts). It's the same thing if I try to enter the parameters of WOOD, so for now I'm not able to access the settings. I don't really know what to do.

If you have any suggestions, help me a lot :)

Start by pressing F12 at startup until a start menu appears - start the Dell diagnostics and run a test lying on the system, in particular the disk of hard/SS.

  • Activate the touch screen capabilities fresh Windows 8.1 Install - Dell XPS 15 9530

So, I had one that I puzzled. I just got a new Dell computer yesterday and as I did the last 10 + years, I install a copy fresh retail because, like most people, hate dealing with their additional software and prefer a clean install, so I don't just not deal with uninstallation, etc.. It turns out that that may have been a bad idea. After that the installation has been made, touch no longer works on the screen. I installed the drivers from the Dell site without success. The Device Manager has no missing material and all windows updates are up-to-date. Intel recognition system stylus and touchscreen capability there. I also checked the settings Pen and Touch on the contact tab and everything seems to be OK (everything I compare these parameters on is a Dell coming Pro 8, but they are the same). My suspicion and I might be away on this, is that I use a copy rather than the OEM of Windows 8.1 copy retail. I got tired of a Pro and a regular retail (Yes, two legal copies) and none worked. I don't know that new computers have the key embedded in the uefi (bios). I tried to install with or without the embedded key substitution. But it's the only thing I can think of and I hope you guys had a few ideas or someone else has had this problem and can help me to solve the problems. Model: Dell XPS 15 9530 with QHD touchscreen monitor +. Update: I discarded retail vs oem fresh installs. I tried an installation using backup/restore of Dell disks. Same deal. It is to be some sort of setting or driver who is not on their site.

I cannot yet understand what has gone wrong, but Dell pulled out and swapped the screen out and it works perfectly. I swear it worked out of the box, so I have no idea how the material do not so fast, but the good news is that it is fixed!

  • Upgrade the hardware of Dell XPS (L521x) how to perform a clean reinstall of Windows 10 Pro

    Hello

I searched on the internet with the question that I have before doing the upgrade and the re-installation of windows. But the messages and solutions are all scattered. I really want to clear this for me once and for all if possible.

First of all, the material that I bought for this upgrade:

1 Samsung 850 EVO mSATA SSD 120 GB (to replace the one 32 GB (factory default)

2 western Digital Black 750Go Performance Mobile HDD (7200 RPM, 2.5 inches)

    3 Intel (r) Dual Band Wireless - AC 7260 (802.11ac, 2 x 2 Wi - Fi, Bluetooth)

    4. crucial Ballistix Sport SODIMM 16 GB (2x8GB) PC3-14900 CL10 at 1.35v 204 pin memory

BTW, my Dell XPS 15 L521x has an intel core i7-3632QM and an nVIDIA GeForce GT 640 M. It also comes with 32 mSATA SSD as cache for the WDC 1 TB HARD drive.

    My goal:

1 install/reinstall Windows 10 mSATA SSD 120 GB and free 500 MB give or take for system reserved partition.

    2. use the remaining space in the C: drive.

    3. use WD Black 2.5 inch 750 GB HHD for cold storage

    4. Remove and reinstall the wireless card Intel Dual Band for a better Wi - Fi compatiability for most routers dual band out there. (Factory default, well, is not great to say the least)

    5. Remove and then install the crucial RAM (compatiable with L521x) is to upgrade memory of my laptop (maybe a little future-proof;) (D).

Before you start the upgrade, I know I have to do the following steps:

    1. update my BIOS/UEFI. (I did it)

2 clear accelerated Intel Rapid Start Technology (IRST) GUI (my laptop keeps inviting that "your system does not have any intel repaid with start technology").

    3. change Intel Smart response Technology (ISRT) to AHCI in BIOS

    4 back up my files

    5. my 10 Pro Activation of emergency Windows (how exactly? The Win10 Pro is upgraded to Windows Pro 8.1 with OEM Dell)

Now my question is what I do or what I've been missing so that what I will meet errors or problems if possible.

Also, I have heard or seen something on the OEM of Windows version. If I change the hardware, disk files or recovering backup activation does not recognize my device. Is this true? If necessary, I can buy a new version of Win10 Pro retail. But, what I really need to do, and does it perform a not-so-complicated work around?

    Thank you very much

    Dean

If you keep your motherboard you have no problem taking the other components such as SSDS.

Your system is already a Pro 10 Windows device.

Installing clean with 10 Windows installation media Pro TH2 your OEM Pro 8.1 Windows key will be automatically entered to the UEFI BIOS and Windows 10 Pro TH2 automatically reactivates when your systems online.

  • Windows 8.1 does not appear in the store Windows Dell XPS 8700

My desktop computer Dell XPS 8700 arrived yesterday, but I can't upgrade Windows 8 to 8.1 of Windows. I went to several Microsoft Web sites where they say on a Windows update and I have to have before the upgrade is displayed in the Microsoft store. I checked I did all Windows updates available including
you need to upgrade to 8.1. I tried "wsreset.exe" running to clear the cache of Windows store. This is not a business system. It's a regular OEM Dell version of Windows 8 that came with the machine. No matter what I do the update does not appear in the Windows store. I thought maybe since I was using the same Microsoft account for my laptop I already upgraded 8 to 8.1 that maybe he thought I was already updated. So I created a new account of Microsoft, created a new user, delete the old user and tried to get the upgrade as a Microsoft account fresh and a user. Still no luck. I saw another person posting a message on a forum somewhere that had a similar problem on this exact model as the only answer that I was to go to the Microsoft page that tells you to do what I've done. Any suggestions or websites where I could crosspost this problem would be much appreciated.

I copied and pasted the steps below from another thread. The procedure worked for me both my 8700 s after that I had tried just about every other proposed solutions. I hope that the procedure will work for you too (assuming that you have not already tried).

    (1) uninstall KB2871389 and restart.

    (2) download the update of Microsoft KB2871389--> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40098

    (3) manually install the KB2871389 update and reboot.

    (4) you must now (I hope) see the 8.1 update in the Windows store.

  • The size of the motherboard of Dell Xps 8500?

I think there mAtx, I just want to make sure that it is standard size before I put it in a new case. model of 2012 with 7570 gpu and cpu i7 3770

It is mATX, but the connector on the front panel is a little different. I know from personal experience: I installed a motherboard XPS 8500 in a chassis from Cooler Master N200.

The HD and the LEDs of power are in the usual place, but the power switch straddles the lines of code pin, sitting on the pins just next door, those LEDs.

  • Dell XPS 15 (9530) Flawed mSATA Setup

I've had my new XPS 15 4 days now, and overall, it's a very impressive machine. I got the middle range (with 1 TB of HARD drive). However, I wish to inform the community on certain issues I'm having, and to publicly display this particular machine is available with a wrong setting.

My model comes with 16 GB of memory system. It has a 32 GB mSATA player intended to be used to start fast Intel and Intel Rapid Storage. The mSATA is partitioned with 8 GB for Intel Rapid Start, and 22 GB for Intel Rapid Storage. However, Intel clearly documents that you need a score equal to the size of the system memory for Intel Quick start working. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&sqi=2&ved=0CDIQFjAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Fdownload.intel.com%2Fsupport%2Fmotherboards%2Fdesktop%2Fsb%2Frapid_start_technology_user_guide_for_uefi1.pdf&ei=m1OHUpzGAdPpkAfE8YGIDg&usg=AFQjCNH7Rh6iQN6hSR0Ry3oBF6kGmxgjaA&sig2=e--yKMT7hoApFUI_7kMyEA This makes sense because what he does is write an image of the system for the SSD memory.

Therefore, Intel Rapid Start does not work on the XPS 15 9530 midrange... I noticed this because it starts slower than my old laptop Inspiron 15 with its Crucial SSD.

Unfortunately, we can not solve this problem to repartition the mSATA. If you dedicate 16 GB on the mSATA to start fast Intel, only 14GB remain to Intel Rapid Storage, which requires a minimum of 18.6 GB at work.

Dell needs to ship this model with a larger mSATA for both technologies work.

Now I have really no better personally, my intention was to recycle my 512 GB Crucial M4 as boot drive by performing a Windows Installer Cleanup on it. This would allow me to devote the entire mSATA to Intel Quick start. Unfortunately, this system is not delivered with Windows Installer records. And I can't order one like Dell system does not recognize my Service tag. I tried to use the resettlement factory disks I did to reinstall on my SSD, but they won't let me not reinstall it to a smaller drive. I could destroy the partition of 6.96 final recovery, reduce the primary partition, and then clone the disk with Clonezilla, but my intention was to maintain the original drive as backup and the SSD would not align correctly.

Another issue I had was the McAfee Firewall which is preinstalled prevented me from affecting a second private network. I uninstalled it after failing to find a solution. Windows Defender appears to be adequate antivirus and its much easier to the value of the 2nd private network with Windows Firewall.

Overall I am very happy with my new computer, but I don't think I'll be really happy until I can go to the SSD. I can solve this problem by ordering a 1 EVO to Samsung of TB, but makes me the high XPS 15 9530 until the price, and I didn't go. And I would always have the alignment problem, if I clone the drive. So I hope that my service tag will be recognized soon allowing me to order the disks to reinstall Windows.

Well, it took a while, but I solved this problem. And I did it without having to reinstall Windows!

    (1) I disabled caching in the Intel RST utility. I then removed the HARD drive, he and an SSD on a desktop connected and Clonezilla to clone the SSD drive.

Put the SSD in the XPS 15; boots fine and fast.

    2) switch to AHCI mode (necessary to optimize SSDS and remove Intel RST):

Open a command prompt and run the following command to enable safe mode start:
    bcdedit/set {current} minimum safeboot
Restart the computer and start the system BIOS.
Change the setting from Intel Rapid Storage (RAID) in Mode AHCI ATA drive
Click Yes to the warning on the change of mode detected on the ATA embedded controller.
Normally, the system starts in safe mode.
Open a command prompt and run the following command to remove the safe mode startup option:
    bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot
Restart the computer and boot up normally. You will notice mSATA is not recognized at all.

    (3) recognising the mSATA

Windows I, open Control Panel, hardware, Device Manager
Select the IDE controller, controller SATA Intel, update driver software
Let me pick from a list of device on my computer drivers
    Select the 2nd driver - the Microsoft Intel (r) 8 Series SATA AHCI Controller - 8 03
Reset. Upon restart, the mSATA will recognize.

    (4) repartition mSATA
Windows key, diskmgmt.msc. You can now see and delete the Intel Rapid Storage cache partition.
Windows key, cmd, open as administrator
    DiskPart
    Select disk 1
Create partition efi size = 16384
    the game ID = D3BFE2DE-3DAF-11DF-BA40-E3A556D89593
    to exit
Windows key, diskmgmt.msc. You can now partition the remaining space on mSATA if you wish.

Now you can completely uninstall Intel Rapid Storage (unnecessary with SSD).
You can put a bigger mSATA in system and use it for storage. He can probably set up for dual

10 restart the portable computer if you are prompted. If not invited, so no need to restart.
[To return to the Realtek driver, do it again but reverse steps 2-7 names].

    ==================================================================

Remove the Realtek driver. Right click on it in the Device Manager. Uninstall. Put a check mark in the box "remove the software for this device." Reboot to remove it permanently. You need to download a new copy of it to get it back.

Lately, I got some error messages like "SMART has detected a hard disk failure." Back up your data immediately. »

I think there is no option available troubleshooting now and I need to replace my HARD drive with a new one. Indicate if there is. For a new HARD drive, I came across Hitachi Travelstar Z7K500 which has the best record and is available at a very good price. Some of its strengths:

    • First 7200 RPM, 500 GB in a 7mm single disc design
    • Advanced format, 512-byte emulation
    • First interface SATA 6 Gb/s on a mobile HARD drive

I'm just worried if I do I face compatibility problems as it has only 7 mm in height compared to my older HDD which was 9.5 mm in height. I'd love to learn more about this and other suggestions you might have.

All SATA drives are backward compatible - and SATA6G questions only for SSDS.  No hard drive can withstand even 150 Mbps - and yet less than 3G / 6G.  The interface may, but does not have the mechanical hard drives.
