Tapping touchpad will not be disabled

We have two of the laptops Lenovo T61 running the UltraNav touchpad software.  Can go into the touchpad software and disable the tapping to click on the function, but it always seems to reactivate itself.  Reactive one after disconnecting and then reconnecting; the other portable reactive just after 10-20 minutes of use.  Went through the steps in uninstalling/reinstalling the touchpad driver and software as well as installation of versions updated without success.  Is the only method of determination to completely disable the touchpad software from running at startup?

So I think I have stumbled across a solution, because the problem disappeared for a few days now.  I uninstalled the driver UltraNav and utility and installed the software available from the site Web of Synaptic.  The tapping to touchpad has not activated itself after disconnect/reconnect, or automatically by itself over time.

    Hi @Andrew111,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I understand that you have recently purchased your laptop and you have decided to downgrade the operating system Windows 7. You tried to disable the touchpad and put off when a pointing device USB is attached. However, when you restart the touchpad is enabled again.

Also, you said that you have the Synaptics TouchPad driver version 19.0.12.98 installed. Device Manager reported that the driver is up-to-date. When I checked the page software and drivers for your laptop and Windows 7, I noticed that a different version is recommended by HP.  Here is a link to the drivers for your laptop and software page. HP ENVY laptop - 14 t - j100 CTO (ENERGY STAR). Please click on "driver - keyboard, mouse and input devices to display a list.  Try to download this version of the Synaptics TouchPad driver and then remove and delete the existing driver, install it. Some models allow you to disable the touchpad by double clicking on the top left corner of the touch pad. Also, you should be able to disable the touchpad in device without uninstall or remove Manager. It must then remain disabled until you return and re - activate. You can also run the HP Support Assistant to help with the acquisition of the recommended software and drivers for your system.

  • HP ENVY notebook - m7-k211dx: Synaptics ClickPad will not be disabled. Reactive after reboot.

Whenever I have disable Synaptics ClickPad using the option 'disable the internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached', it works fine until I restart. When I return in the options, it is still once unchecked. I tried to turn off the drivers, but they are grey, but wan't to avoid this meathod ultimately because it is not ideal for me.

    Action taken:

    • Update to the latest drivers.
    • Disable the cache and history cleaning software.
    • Try different USB ports.

(That's fine, but when I restart it unchecks itself)

    Thanks, Mike

    Mike,

Sorry it took me awhile. I have all the "Nitty Gritty" details if you want, but the "net-net" is the update of this option writes in "HKCU" and there is a "HKLM" in the register which is default location and never changes.

I managed to do that work by changing the corresponding section of HKLM in the registry. It not be "rejected" at each logon as the HKCU section seems to be. The ICON remained "hidden" which is what I wanted to happen with the change below.

Try this and see if it works for you!

    1. open Regedit.exe

    2. go to the location next to the register:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTPEnh

    3. Note the REG_DWORD value named - TrayIcon

    4. the numbers of data match this way:

    0 x 0000001 (1) DEFAULT = which is the active ICON

    0 x 0000011 (17) = animated ICON

    0 x 00000021 (33) = disabled ICON

    5. change it to what you have been wishing, in my case it was 21 Hex or Dec 33 for DISABLED ICON.

    6. exit Registry Editor

    7. restart to test or log-off/log-on to test.

NOTE: If REG_DWORD is not here, it is probably safe to add it, but in my case it was already there it was just the value 1 and never changed when I changed the settings. Only the section HKCU did who has always retired at the end of my session when I disconnected or restarted.

Let me know the results! I hope it suits it for you!

  • System sounds will not be disabled

Specific irritation, I got right now is the fact that I did not open Outlook (2010) on my laptop to... Well, a lot of time. So now, I have a ton of new notifications by e-mail, pay, and they do not close to the top.

First of all, I tried to set the Notification Mail new Windows 'no sound': no effect. I restarted Outlook without effect; I restarted my PC without effect. Then I tried to turn off all the system sounds: no effect. Yet once I restarted Outlook and the PC without effect. Then, I remembered to check Outlook localized parameters and not selected "beep": no effect. Yet once I restarted Outlook and the PC without effect. (In addition, this problem is not isolated to Outlook because after each)
the system restarts, other system alert sounds made noise).

I am at a total loss. I simply cut the sound, but I'm watching DVDs. It is, in fact, an old problem that I couldn't be bothered solve before, but now I want it fixed.

I solved this problem by opening the volume mixer (a left click on the volume in the system tray icon, then clicking on 'mixer'); I was then able to mute the system sounds and sounds of individual (including Outlook) application in now the volume of the speaker to DVD, etc..

  • HP Touchpad calendar tablet will not synchronize entered Google Calendar online

Entries posted to Google calendar on my laptop perfectly sync for the WebOS calendar on the shelf but enties on my HP Touchpad will not sync to Google Calendar.

A question, I can't find an answer: in preferences & accounts the default calendar is displayed as the HPWebOS account.  It should be one or Google Calendar.  If the latter, when I type that account it will not appear as a default.  Maybe it is not supposed to be the default calendar?

Any help from an experienced user will be appreciated.

When you pull the top of the page for Google Calendar, tap the icon just to the right of the web address box.  It looks like a square with an arrow pointing to the right.

Now you will see the options to 'Add bookmark' or 'add to Launcher '.  The first will create a bookmark for you in the browser, the second will the page as an icon in the Launcher.

If you want, you could drag the icon created on your home page.

    Hello

The touchpad settings can be changed in Control Panel-> mouse
Here, you will have to go to the last tab advanced and click on the Advanced button.

You should now get a menu with all the options available for touchpad.
It should be an option called use scroll function. This should be checked/enabled.

    Check it!

I'm really sorry to laugh, but this is a funniest post I've ever seen. Apparently you've damaged the device rom (cd/dvd drive) replace it with a new one. They measure less $ $30 .00usd. Furthermore, placing the old drive in the drive xp will not improve the performance of the computer. Looks like you have some malware. I recommend that you post in the section virus/malware of the forum on the link below for a complete analysis. The forum is free.
