Task Scheduler to open & minimize a program or folder

I heard options to create a .bat file or place shortcuts in the start menu to open certain programs at startup.  I wonder if it is possible to open specific programs and have minimized by Task Scheduler?  Also, probably a little different, is it possible to open and minimize logging to a folder?

Thank you

Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation and click Ok.

  • I try to do the Task Scheduler open an Access 2007 DB on the network

    Hello

    Any help with this one?

I have a DB of 2007 access on a shared folder on the network.  I want 4 users to be able to start and DB that open when they are connected.

It works when you schedule the execution of a program that is located on the local disk, for example, open Notepad or a other prog.

    When I do the following...

Create the new task (no base)

Open task DB name > run when the user logged on (they must be in any case) use with the highest privileges = yes > Configure to Vista or server 2008 (using Small Business SERVER 2003 and Vista Bus)

Relaxation > in the journal to start GOLD > specific user or group (ME) check box selected = Yes

    Action > start a program > Browse to the program/script = x player database - name.accdb

Conditions - no defined (of course supply sector)

Settings > allow the task runs at the request - stop after three days (again, I'm not that long!)

Click RUN to see if it works. Nothing happens

All suggestions, anyione has done something similar?

Tried several variations on the settings, still no joy.

    Thanks in advance. McP

  • Close a program using Task Scheduler

How can I close a .exe program by using Task Scheduler? Eg - is the case of NetMeter, I want the program to automatically close every day at 02:00. It can b done?

    Waiting for a quick response...

    Kind regards.

Ah I see.  Do not schedule the cmd.exe to run.  Taskkill itself is already an executable command.  So just plan sound directly in the program/script box:

    Taskkill /f /im "NetMeter.exe.

Do not put anything in the arguments box.  When the program runs, you will briefly see to open the command prompt, the program will be completed, then the command prompt will disappear on its own.

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

    Method 1:

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

I suggest that you put the computer in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
