TC I have gen VM migration

Hello

I have a quick question, can I migrate TCS I gen to VM?

I ask because:

In the s5.3.x software release notes there is info that soft can be installed on TCS I gen

http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/Telepresence/TCS/5_3/release/notes/... l #pgfId - 147098

to migrate the TCS I gen to VM, I need S5.3.x soft

http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/Telepresence/TCS/6_0/release/notes/...

Concerning

Pawel

TCS running under VM is out with S6.1 and later versions. You can buy R-VMTCS-MIG-K9, the device based on VME TCS TCS, I think that it is a line of $0 item, as long as your existing TCS is on a support contract is active.

Check out the release below notes and install guide for more information, they both contain information on requirements and needs to migrate your hardware, device based TCS to virtual.

TCS S7.1 Release Notes

TCS to output 7.1 Installation Guide for VM for existing customers

If you need more information or help, suggest that you move your thread to the telepresence of forums where these devices are most active section discussed.

  • Migration strategy

I use now on a late 2009 27 "iMac with OSX 10.10.5. My new iMac 27 "OSX 10.11 arrived on Monday.

I think I want to do a clean installation of applications and preferences. The user account that I have now been migrated permanently and updated since 2005, and I observe many stay preferences and other application library files, that I no longer use. Including this user account starts much slower that the other accounts on the same machine.

I'm quite capable of quickly and efficiently copy the files of the user of a machine for other applications and resettlement. The big question is how to deal with Apple Mail? It seems to me that if I copy the entire folder library/mail to the new machine I have a problem because the mail folder will be in version 10.10, a 10.11 OS.

I have calendar, Contacts and Notes connected with iCloud, I can just sync the new account with iCloud.

Of course, I could upgrade the old machine to 10.11 prior to this operation, but I see this forum which carries a 10.10 to 10.11 update it's own risks.

    The valuable comments and suggestions?

It could be (I'm not sure) a little old-fashioned, but it should be useful:

  • Migration

Over the years, I have used assistant Migration to move things from one computer to the other. But moves to all sorts of unnecessary things, such as the old system 7 preference files software and other. So I'm not sure I want to "migrate" again. Is there a great way to migrate partially stuff (photos, music, settings, and other library) other than manually move things? It would be great to use the Migration Wizard to move all users and documents and settings from one to another computer, but I'm not all the garbage that goes with it! Throw a few ideas here for me to think.

The Setup/Migration assistant program is quick and easy.

Move the files manually is tedious and time consuming.

Installation/Migration Assistant may move on obsolete files like the old preferences files and others. But all these old files don't do anything wrong. They do not slow down your computer and they do not use disk space.

I've always used Assistant settings. So I still have the files of my eMac I've owned from 2002 to 2005 on my iMac running 10.11 here in 2016. These files have never bothered me. Take the time to manually move files to avoid copying these file types was not worth the time or effort for me.

But I can understand the appeal of a pristine, clean system uncluttered with prefs old and other unnecessary files. Only you can decide if take the time and energy for it is worth for you.

If you decide to migrate, a recommendation I have is to use the installation wizard and not of Migration Wizard. Installation Wizard is what you get when you turn on your Mac for the first time and answer you Yes when it asks you if you want to transfer files from another Mac. Migration wizard, it's what you do when you answer no in the installation wizard, try to migrate to another Mac later once you've already spent time to set up your new Mac. From my experience, answered no to the configuration wizard only do Migration Assistant later is almost always a mistake.

  • Migration of PPC-based Mac to all new MBP running El Capitan

Can use Setup Assistant to migrate files from a Mac to Leopard PPC processor to a whole new MacBook Pro running non-retine El Capitan cause problems? The support article 'Move your content to a new Mac' (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204350) said the old Mac should run 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or later, but that has not been my experience on November 24, 2015.

When my new MBP came directly from the China (I paid the extra $15 for express delivery) and I was starting for the first time, I plugged on my old based on the PPC PowerBook G4 10.5.8 Leopard and when I got to the screen "you want to transfer your data", I chose "transfer from a Mac", hit continue and expected to see an error screen.  Surprise, surpise, transfer stepped forward, and all my accounts and passwords have been transferred to the MBP.  I used a Firewire 400 to 800 cable to connect two computers and started the G4 in target Mode.  The only 'problem' I have noticed (if that's the right word) is that my new MBP is found with the same name as my old G4.  I expected to wonder on behalf of MBP somewhere along the line, the installation procedure.

Then I came across two problems related to the system with the MBP, but I don't know if they were related to the transfer or were part of a problem with the original, factory system or the 10.11.1 updated, which I fell right after the end MBP of the initialization of the first time.  The first problem was the MBP would not print at one of my printers Epson (Stylus CX7400 and Stylus Photo R280), even after downloading what it determined were the correct drivers. I would get an error message "failure of the filter.  The second problem was that the MBP would not cCREATE a bootable of El Capitan Installer using the Terminal and the command SUDO appropriate.  Both these problems disappeared after I reinstalled completely El Cap 10.11.1, but I still want to know if transfer in my info to the G4 PPC-based using Setup Assistant might have caused or contributed to them.

Very likely that the system software and some of the apps would not be compatible with a mac intel. Music and photos would be. And also movies. But all third party apps will need to be updated to work. If you have used assistant migration there is a screen where you can choose what are the files to be transferred. Ether transfer you the contents of the entire hard disk or your entire home folder. That's how you're done with the same user name. Relocation of El Capitan straightened some of them. You should always go through and remove some things.

  • Migration of vCenter

I did some research, but could not find anything.  I'm on vRanger Pro 5.2 connection and I was wondering if there will be complications of my vCenter upgrade to a new server?  I'm upgrading to vCenter 4.0 to 4.1 and it is not going to a new server.  The license has been purchased for the ESX servers, so I think that once I have completed the migration, I would just need to add the new vCenter to vRanger connection?  I stop vRanger connection at all during the migration?

    Thank you

    Byron,

You're the first person to ask this question BEFORE the actual move. What is good.

    > ... I just need to add the new vCenter to vRanger connection?

I say 'no' to this question. Assuming that you always use the same PB VC (just improved), if you add a new VC (and you probably disabled VC old at this time), all existing jobs will find what they have been configured for-VC is opposed (VMs/cases/clusters/etc.) The reason is that all the jobs are related to the old VC id that is stored in the table InventorySourceConnection of Ranger DB.

    My suggestion is simple enough:

    complete your upgrade of VC/move;

    do not add new VC

    Open the InventorySourceConnection table in SQL Management Studio and change the column address for former VC so there new server IP or FQDN VC;

    Restart the services of guard;

Open the GUI. You may need to provide credentials for VC makes it fast. sometimes Ranger tries to connect with blank password and account that you use for VC can be locked (http://communities.quest.com/thread/14133?tstart=0)

You can change the value more easily using sqlcmd (normally installed with any version of MS SQL). Command would be (assuming you had one active VC in the store inventory):

    "sqlcmd-s - vRangerPro d q" update InventorySourceConnection set Address = '' where InventorySourceConnectionTypeId = 0 and IsDeleted = 0 ".

  • DMM 5.2.2 7835 H 2 DMM 5.4 VM migration

    Hi all

We are running DDM 5.2.2 on a MCS 7835 H 2 Server and use only the DMP 4400.  We are looking to migrate to DMM 5.4 as using our software upgrade contract.  I went through the options options/upgrade of migration and to understand the process of having to go through the 5.2.2 > 5.2.3 > 5.3 > 5.4 > 5.4.1.

But I don't have access to a a MCS 7835 H 3 or C210 server, but I have access to a C220M3.  Is there a migration route to take me to 5.2.2 for 5.4.1 running on our UCS B series taking place in VMWare 5.0?

I saw the migration document that references the migration of 7835H 2 for the C210 to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/digital_media_systems/hw/platform/migration/dmm-mcs-ucs.html

But, as mentioned above do not have access to a C210 to undertake this.  Is there a way to take 5.2.2 configuration and this directly to import it into a new installation of 5.4 (I guess not).  can I use the C220 instead of the C210?  If possible can I run through the migration, do upgrades to get to DMM 5.4.1 install a double DMM 5.4.1 in VMware and backup the C220 and restore the installation of VMware?

    Thanks for any help.

    Happy new year

    Hi David,

You can see a similar description in the following thread:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2190258

The answer is no, it is not a migration path official at this point if you have not already migrated it to C210 before, unfortunately. You need to trigger this to your Cisco team account in order to get help with this.

Best regards and happy new year,

  • Migration of data from LMS 3.0.1 (SA) 3.1 (Master)

    Hi all

I have a data migration to perform. I was wondering if someone did, or had problems with (standalone) 3.0.1 to 3.1 migration (master).

    See you soon

    David

It should work perfectly. However, problems can still the case. After migration, the DCR mode will be set to return to standalone as the dcr.ini will be restored from the backup. You must return to master. In fact, I recommend that opt-out of all the slaves of the master prior to the migration.

  • Migration of ADR 3.0 and mod_plsql

Hello, this is probably a question naïve, but anyway:

I have configured and deployed ADR on weblogic server. I have a legacy architecture that connects to the same database, but using the SST and mod_plsql.

In the legacy installation I have configured with the URL and other things dads. My question is how do I access these legacy applications that are accessible through mod_plsql via ADR so can I turn off the SST?

How can I build an own URL? Because each ADR app follows this pattern of f? p = 1 etc. what I need to change the configuration of ADR since it is the same database?

I really don't understand the relationship between these two connectors I have always worked with APEX listener (now called ADR).

    Any tips will be appreciated.

I do not know how to do this:

    ServerName.domain.com/pls/test/test.Home

    to do this:

    ServerName.domain.com/ords/f?p=?

    ServerName.domain.com/ords/test/test.Home<- 404="" not="">

To generic plsql gateway programs, you do not pass. In this new configuration using ADR, you have two options. We use the unique connector "apex". This by changing the user of the connection of APEX_PUBLIC_USER to normal DADDY login and password. This is done either using the utility (java-installation of ords.war advanced pot) in this case when it prompts for the PLSQL gateway configuration you choose Yes, and when it asks username, you choose someone other than the default APEX_PUBLIC_USER.

Return to the "change of url.

In this scheme, you would "server.domain.com/ords/test.home" available if you simply configure the default connector ONLY.

If you have chosen to migrate several dads, then you can configure each as a connector, and then the URL of their card in each connector. It's in the url file - mapping.xml

    http://xmlns.Oracle.com/Apex/pool-config">

    Then you'd have if your config-ADR directory, $ORDS_CONFIG/ADR/conf /.

    Apex. XML

    Prod. XML

    test. XML

    Where prod.xml might look like:

    http://Java.Sun.com/DTD/properties.DTD">

Recorded on Fri Sep 04 23:23:35 EDT 2015

    proddatabase.domain.Internal

    @mypasswordhash

    PROD.domain.internal

    DAD_USER

    Prod

According to this scenario, you might have connections instance difference.

    Server.domain.com/ords/test/test.Home

    Server.domain.com/ords/prod/prod.Home

  • Migration from MySQL to Oracle SQL does not

    Hello everyone,

I am new to Oracle SQL, but since our MySQL database is more and get more slowly, I would like to test the performance of Oracle SQL.

So, I downloaded the current Oracle Linux distro and installed Oracle Database 11 g Express Edition.

I connected with Oracle SQL Developer and started to migrate the MySQL database by following each step of this tutorial.

I had to abandon all the privileges of the user migration (otherwise the creation and the deleteion of the migration repository did not) and I have disabled the migration of constraints to make migration work.

Then I proceeded through all of the steps of the tutorial and ended with a "successful migration.

The last step of the tutorial, it was to connect to the db migrated (using a combination of username/password generated name), it was not possible.

    What do I already checked?

    • Logged on as user system, I see that there is no new user created for the migrated db
    • Looking at the overview in the migration repository I see 3 phases, not knowing if the third displays an error or if it is not necessary at all (I got 58 tables in the db of the source)
      • Capture of 58/58
      • Convert 58/58
      • Compile 0/58

From here, I don't know where to look for additional errors.

I still can't use the migrated db and so I can't go forward with my tests.

    I missed something?

    I would appreciate your help.

    Astaldo

    Astaldo salvation,

First, you must use SQL Developer 4.0.2 If you aren't already. It is available for free on OTN

    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/SQL-Developer/downloads/index-098778.html

There are two ways to convert tables from MySQL to Oracle.

    1) copy to Oracle

    (2) migration to Oracle.

Copy to Oracle is the simplest method. It does not imply the creation of a repository of migration.  But it only migrates data without constraints or default values or indexes and tables. The set of data to move should be reasonably low as it is moved on JDBC.

It may suit your purpose to try to Oracle.

    http://dermotoneill.blogspot.co.UK/2010/11/copy-to-Oracle.html

Migrate Oracle requires the implementation of a migration repository. But he migrate the default settings, constraints, and indexes and can also provide scripts offline data move that can manage the circulation of large data sets.

Here is a small script to create a new MIGRATIONREPO user, and grant the correct privileges.

CREATE USER MIGRATIONREPO IDENTIFIED BY oracle.

    ALTER USER MIGRATIONREPO QUOTA UNLIMITED ON USERS;

    GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE, CREATE VIEW, CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW to MIGRATIONREPO;

Then using SQL Developer, create a connection to MIGRATIONREPO, right-click on the connection and choose "associate the Migration repository.

I hope you have success best creation of migration with the privileges of theses repository.

Migration Wizard step 8: target database

    Choose Offline Mode.

This will present you with a build script that you can inspect before the race.

The build script must be run using the SQL Developer worksheet and choose free user sufficiently privileged in Oracle generally SYSTEM.

Note that if you would rather work with the repository you must currently you can browse your browser of Migration.

Access converted database objects, right-click and select "generate the target".

This will again open the Migration Wizard in step 8. Allowing you to choose Offline Mode so that you can review the build script.

    Hope this helps,

    Kind regards

    Dermot.

    SQL development team.

  • Maintaining the integrity of the data so that the migration of data from different environment

    Hello

    In Oracle 11r2,.

We work in an environment were we have need to migrate data from one environment to the other.

The data is stored in 5 tables that has data integrity constraints (foreign keys).

They use keys of substitution for the primary key.

These keys are populated by sequences.

    Export is not a problem.

    Importing is.

The challenge is that surrogate keys (sequence numbers) may have already been used in the new environment.

Thus, we would need assign new surrogate keys of the sequence for the imported data without compromising the integrity of the data in the parent-child relationships.

We need the integrity of the data in this process.

We need the process to be fast.

We are looking for advice if data pump might solve our problem or if a script internal or a mixture of both is required.

Perhaps other tools exist to achieve this goal.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Yan Pachebat

It would be instead of data pump.  11g Release 2 added the function REMAP_DATA, which will allow you to incorporate something like this into a data pump process.  It was not available at the time I did my scripts 11.1.
