TE2100 frozen and CMOS / boot problem

I have an old TE2100 of 3.5 years.
When I worked on this subject, it froze all of a sudden. No reaction on the keyboard or the mouse. I had power is down by holding down the power button.
After that the laptop wouldn't turn on more, so I removed the battery, cdplayer and played a little bit. After a few minutes, it started working again for some reason any uncertain.
After I turned on the machine, but I have a
* bad crc checksum, check the system etc etc. Replace the cmos battery *.
Message.
After that the laptop worked normally (with the exception of the date system, which has been reset to 2000) until it froze again and again and so on. Now he refuses to swith on at all. When I press the power button, the green light comes on, but nothing happens. It doesn't matter whether on AC power or battery.

The laptop is out of warranty and 6 months virtually out of it is of economic life. So I don't want to spend too much money on repair. I'm pretty good with electronics and other things, and the cmos battery replacement should not be a problem as long as I find a new one here in Holland. However, I highly doubt that a bad cmos battery is the problem here. Windows should not fail because of an empty battery I think.

I have someone out there who has any suggestion on how to solve this problem or who can tell what is probably the problem? Thanks in advance!

Hello

Well, if you want to replace the CMOS battery you must open Notepad. In this case, you need to remove all the covers and keyboard.
Unfortunately, I put t know exactly the battery place, but I think that it of not difficult to find.
In addition, you can contact the service partner to order this cmos battery and to ask him detailed information.

Good bye

  • Dell Precision M4700 (Windows 7 pro) starts not once configured with UEFI and Secure Boot

To all those who can help you:

I got a Dell Precision M4700 and I update bios A05. I was intending to move to Windows 8. Everything was fine and the bios update was successful. I started the new bios under Windows 7 Professional (base OS) factory-installed and was very good.

However, I can't get into the bios (not even see the POST from Dell or Logo) after I activate the UEFI and Secure Boot. This before I update to Windows 8 Pro. Now I'm stuck with a blank screen (same LCD not lit) and nothing to start. It's like a dead PC.

Help, please. Is that what I can do or should I contact Dell Support for repair?

    Thank you

I fixed it!  Just removed the CMOS battery, the BIOS got reset back to factory default.  So I did:

    (1) remove the battery

    (2) press the power button to the case of ground

    (3) remove the lower panel

    (4) disconnect the CMOS battery (it's tedious)

    (5) I hit the power button for some time (30 s) to clear the capacitors or something else, it was my theory, but I doubt it's necessary

    (6) use it to all back to the start

When I turned it on it turns on and turns off several times before finally stay standing and I was then able to enter the BIOS and all the settings have been restored to factory default.  I am new to Windows 7 on my machine so I'll repeat the process, this time without disabling the legacy option roms!

Here is the disassembly for precision M6700 and M4700 instruction manual if anyone needs:

    http://support.Dell.com/support/eDOCS/systems/wsm4700/en/OM/om_en.PDF

I was talking about the Dell support problem and the guy said he would talk to his superior and see if something needs to be done, so I guess we'll see if something happens.

I hope it works for you!

  • I have my windows automatic update. the other day, my windows updated and Ive had problems of e-mail and online video problems. I have vista Home premium OS. any suggestions?

can receive email, but not able to send after the recent ('important') updates of windows have been installed.
also can't see videos on facebook because of the mistakes because of these updates.
I have the my windows update set to automatic and noticed these problems after an update has taken place. I did a system restore and everything worked fine. Needless to say the next day, the same thing. I even went to the windows update to manual setting, and it is always updated by itself. This made 4 consecutive days. now when I go to system restore, I don't even get the opportunity to go beyond 5 days! video errors on facebook tell me that "the video is unavailable" and "video has been deleted or is not visible because of the privacy settings. I also noticed that most installed updates are updates to windows security. and my windows update seems to be popping up constantly telling me ago over updates to install.

    Hi Unhappy72,

I'm sorry that you are still facing the same problem. I'll be more than happy to help you.

    I have a few questions:

    (a) what version of IE are you using?

    (b) has been going through the steps to reset Internet explorer?

    (c) you have any version of Flash Player on your system?

You can try to update the version of Flash Player for videos.

To do this all first you need to uninstall and then go ahead and download the latest version and install it.

To uninstall the application follow the steps given below:

    1. open programs and features by clicking on the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking programs, and then clicking programs and features.

    2. Select a program, and then click Uninstall. Some programs include the ability to modify or repair the program in addition to uninstall, but many simply offer the option uninstall. To change a program, click change or repair. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information, please visit the below given link:

    Uninstall or change a program

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/uninstall-or-change-a-program

You can also check if the connection parameters are set by default.

Make follow them the steps below:

    1. open Internet Explorer.

    2. press the Alt key on your keyboard for the file menu if it is not already there.

    6. check if automatic detect settings is enabled in the box, if it isn't what to choose.

    7. close all Internet Explorer Windows and reopen and check if the problem persists.

This should solve your problem of not being able to send emails.

You can also try to clean boot your system and then try to play the videos. This will let us know if the background services interferes with the proper functioning of your system.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

1 log on to the computer using an account with administrator rights

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

Once you have disabled all services that you can check if you are able to play the videos. If so, you can try the divide and conquer method to find what service exactly the origin of the problem. For those who follow the below given link:

If you used the power switch, you can inadvertently damage your file system, so before wasting time to try a bunch of things, I could do this (or you may be wasting a lot of time to try things too):

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk on your hard drives may solve your problem completely.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • Error message: this action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose ' switch to ' to activate the busy program and correct the problem

    Original title: server busy

I get a popup server busy with the message: "this action cannot be completed because the other program is busy.  ' Choose ' switch to ' to activate the busy program and correct the problem.  There are two buttons"'Switch To' and 'Retry '.  Neither fixes the problem and I do not understand what they are talking about.

    Hi adarb,

    1. when exactly you get this message?

    2. what applications do you use when you get this message?

    Method 1:

You can restart the computer and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

You try to perform a clean boot. A clean boot to check if startup item or services to third-party application is causing this issue.

You can read the following article to put the computer in a clean boot:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

If your problem is resolved after the clean boot, and then follow the steps mentioned in the article above to refine the exact source.

After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow the steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    Hope this information is useful.

  • Boot problem - which means 'nothing' begins or displays on the screen

Boot problem - which means 'nothing' starts or displayed on screen (white, black screen).  Do 'hard boot' to the CPU, then Ctrl Alt Delete & to get to the Task Manager.

In the process, I see the problem of the wercon.exc process.  Once the process is complete, I can use the computer.

  • D6W42EA: Cmos battery problem

Hello, I broke cmos battery cable entry in my notebook.  And it causes problems when starting laptop. It shows ERROR CMOS screen (502). Is it possible to fix the cmos battery input or I have to change the motherboard?

Usually if you broke the cable header, you will need to replace the motherboard. Maybe you can find a very adept at soldering that can fix.

  • Black screen, with toolbar frozen and no icons

original title: black screen, with toolbar frozen and no icons! :(

    Hello

my laptop (vista) recently has devloped a problem in which the Bureau during its connection, is black with no icons and a toolbar frozen. This PC can hang and will only work in safe mode. However, in safe mode, it is very slow, and yet I can not delete all the files, but I managed to save my personal files.

There is no current system restores for me to do, and I did the test of material, without known defects.

I also noticed when his connection, because I did not need to press on enter to type my password, the box is already open :/

Thanks in advance, I hope someone will have the answer to my problem :)

    Sam my setup is:

Medion M96350, Intel Core 2 Duo, T520 @1.5 - Ghz, Vista Home Premium

This also happens if you did a recent update of windows that has corrupted or have recently installed the new drivers on something that is causing a conflict.

I don't really know a final solution but her below can make the black screen disappear temporarily:

1-ctrl-alt-del to get to Task Manager
    2. go to the "Applications" tab
    3. a 'new task... ". »
    4 type "explorer.exe".

If the above get rid of the black screen, it is always likely that she will return when you then start the PC, but at least it can allow you to cancel any installation driver/updates to see if that solve the problem.

  • the mouse is frozen and I have to restart to operate

    Hello

I'm really tired with win7 on two PCs!

-Office Noname card mother ASUS P8H77-M LE Intel i3

    -Laptop HP Pavilion DV6 2111 (3 years)

For a few weeks (May 5-6) I have the same problem, all of a sudden the mouse is frozen and I have to restart or when I leave the PC 'works' for a while, so I have to hard reboot (CTR ALT DEL inactive).

Two PC's have the same config, same AV, same apps.

How to analyze this problem and find a solution?

If I find not soon, I'm going with Linux; However, it is annoying to Office 365...

    Thanks for help

    Serge

FYI, I have updated the driver from the motherboard (on the site of ASUS: improve stability)... go see!
