Tecra 8000 sees no PCMCIA network card

I don't get my Belkin network card Wireless PCMCIA connected to my Tecra 8000.
That's all new win 2000, including all updates and I don't know that the pcmcia slot is working very well.

The problem during the installation of this card is that the tecra does not see the network card.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem. Network adapter is Belkin F5d7010 54 Mb.

Try to change some settings in the BIOS.
In the configuration box, you can set the configuration of device option to all devices.
In addition, in the area PC card, you can try changing the compatible option CCIP or CardBus / 16-bit.

Play with these settings and check if a this will allow the card.

PS: Have you installed all the drivers that should be shipped with this card?

  • Satellite Pro A40 fell on the wireless network card; Damaged PCMCIA slot

This morning my Satellite Pro A40 (Celeron 2.6) fell 40 cm. He fell right on the wireless network card that has been inserted. This card is still alive and so is the rest of the laptop, but the PCMCIA location is little damaged. I can insert PC cards almost completely, just the last piece (when the pins are) wrong.

I removed the cover near the CPU, and there, I could see the inside PCMCIA slot; I could see the main part and the last part where the pins are. That little part as is pushed upward, as you can see in the pictures.

I think I'd be able to fix myself this PCMCIA slot, but I can't remove it. I removed all the screws on the rear plate, but he is still blocked.

Does anyone have an idea how I can remove the back plate, or another way to remove the PCMCIA slot and fix it?

    Hi Steve

Well, I can give t well you not answer how you can just remove the PCMCIA slot.
There are a lot of screws and to my knowledge, it is necessary to remove all covers and screws that are placed at the bottom of the unit and inside under the keyboard.
Please check this specific device. Perhaps you have overlooked a few screws.

But if it is impossible to remove the PCMCIA slot of the unit, I recommend to ask the service partner for a detailed instruction.

    Good luck

As far as I know that the Tecra S1 has no card network wireless not installed, but you can improve it with a minPCI wireless network card.
The drivers needed, you must download it from the page of the Toshiba driver or drivers will come with a wireless network card.
Also the Bluetooth is an option on this unit.

  • Tecra A10 - 12O: installing the driver network card in Windows Server 2003 R2 Std

    Hello

I received 6 laptop Tecra A10 - 12O, and we need to install Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition with SP2 in all these six machines. Windows Server 2003 has been installed perfectly, but now we have only the network LAN card to work but we are unable to install its driver. When I installed Windows XP from the supplied DVD for Toshiba, it says Intel 82567V Gigabit network adapter. I tried to download the drivers for this adatpor of drivers Toshiba, Intel Web site, but it will not install in Windows Server 2003. I also tried manually force to choose and install a driver from the list, I choose that it will install but shows yellow question mark in Device Manager means that it does not work with this driver.

I also tried the same Intel 82567V drivers from some sites non-Toshiba, of these models using the same network card, but is not truck drivers at all.

I understand these laptop computers does not support Windows Server 2003, but these were ordered to be used as servers with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and I am required to make the Installer only with activated and installed network adapter.

I try last week and exhausted all means to get the installed network adapter driver, but all have failed. Can someone please help with this? All support will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy

If I m not wrong Windows Server 2003 uses the same drivers as Win XP and I guess that it s driver problem not a LAN, but perhaps also the problem of Windows Server 2003 installed.

You are right; the LAN chip seems to be Intel 82567V and the LAN driver downloaded from Intel page should work 100%.

In your case, I would recommend installing the chipset driver.
Remove the LAN card from Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Then go back to Device Manager and update driver in pointing devices Manager to the place where the driver downloaded LAN was stored on the HARD drive.

    Hello

I am trying to install Linux on a Toshiba Tecra 8000. The problem is with a chipset Realtek ethernet PCMCIA card (module: 8139too), which is recognized, but the network is unusable. • Tecra 8000 TV out when it is docked

The docking station for the doen't Tecra8000 replicate the TVout connector, but I have a cable to right angle that matches the TV normal port when connected and allows the cable out the host unit. TV connector normally output is disabled when it is docked and is there a setting in the registry or something in 98SE to re - activate?

I connect my Tecra to a TV to watch DivX movies on the big screen, with the audio goes to my stereo, but I need to use the device with the Replicator, because the server containing my video files on a network, so I need the capacity of the network. I COULD use a network adapter, but then that beats the purpose of a docking station with the LAN!

    Retro Hi

I'm a bit confused. As much as I know some Tecra 8000 have no LAN card. If your camera has card LAN and LAN port why you n t plug it directly into the TV and LAN without Port Replicator?

I'm not sure if the port is disabled, but you can test if you can 100%. If there is no success, you must use the PCMCIA network adapter.

  • Tecra 8000 and broadband connection

    Hi all

I recently asked to watch Tecra 8000 a friends (PII 233) and give it a bit of an update... Don't know why the most I've ever done, is to add a few small components in my PC at home!

My question is - is this possible for a connection broadband to be put in place - I looked all over the laptop, but don't find nothing which would suggest it is possible.
(Also what other improvements should be can) watching us.

Sorry for the noobness, but any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Ben

Wow this is really an oldie
Broadband do you mean the LAN port?

As far as I know that the Tecra 8000 was not equipped with LAN port.
It s really amazing but it is a fact

However, if you want to use LAN then I advise you to buy a PCMCIA (Cardbus 32-bit) LAN card that would be allows to connect the Tecra 8000 to LAN.

    See you soon

  • Tecra 8000: No memory available to connect with area map PC

I have a Tecra 8000 running Win98 SE and use a card PCMCIA 3Com for my Internet connection. I was troubleshooting my computer on another issue and in the process disabled Cardbus PCMCIA Toshiba ToPIC controllers. After you have enabled these again once I am more able to communicate with the PC card and so unable to connect to the Internet.

When I run the Diagnostics on the Modem does not respond to the exception of the following:

"' Open Comm: cannot open port"

Any help or advice will be appreciated.

Have you tried to uninstall the Cardbus drivers? Not sure about the location in Win98 (in XP it is in Device Manager), go to "PCMCIA adapters" and uninstall all entries in controller.

Reboot and Win98 will perform his routine "new hardware found". This is going to re - install drivers and with a bit of luck should solve your problem.

  • Tecra 8000 - question on wireless

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra 8000. I want to connect to broadband wireless set up in my house. Can someone please advise me as to what the hardware needs of my machine to allow me to do this? Do I need a wireless card? Also I would be grateful any recommendation for exact hardware products to buy - to ensure that they are compatible with my device.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I agree with the previous user. For your good old classic, the best solution is to use a PCMCIA WLAN card. You can find many different products on the market, and the best thing you can do is to talk with your local dealer. Inform you about all the products. I hope that you will choose the right one.
