Tecra 9000 wireless (WPA)
I try to get a Toshiba Tecra 9000 working on our network has just changed from WEP to WPA Wireless. Is there an updated driver, etc. for this?
Hello
Well, your ad is a bit confusing to me.
Encoding methods if I know the WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wireless Protected Access) are different. In this case you don t have no driver to install. The WEP key is a method of watching as WPA because WEP used 128 bit and WPA 48 bit coding.
Good bye

Wireless with Tecra 9000 does not work
Hi, I have a toshiba tecra 9000, in the last weeks that I had problems with my windows xp, so I decided to install win 2000.
2000 is more stable, but I had a problem with the wireless card... I installed the latest drivers downloaded from the toshiba Web site... wireless card is installed successfully, but when I run the client Manager there is no way to find my access point...
I have no signal and cannot find any network... can you help me?
Thank youThe laptop is connected to the access point with the installed XP?
First, please be sure that your card wireless network has been activated on the laptop in the right way.
The switch on the side of the laptop and the FN + F8 should be used to activate the wireless card.Does AP support the same standard as minPCI installed wireless network card wireless. I mean A. B or G standard.
The router and the card should support the same standard to pair properly -

How to change minPCI WLan on Tecra 9000
Hello
I have a Toshiba Tecra 9000 with 11b wireless.
I bought a minPCI 54g card, but I don't see where is the mini on the Tecra 9000 pci card,My question is how do I change the WiFi card mini pci please?
Thank you all
Hello
I think that if you can't find the WLan slot at the bottom of the unit, then it must be hidden somewhere under the keyboard!
The keyboard is usually fixed with two screws that are hidden under a thin plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons cover.
If you remove the two screws, you should be able to loft the keyboard. But be careful; It s to connect to the motherboard with a flat cable

Tecra 9000 - WLan and new hardware issue
I have a 2nd hand Tecra 9000 that works all fine except the Wlan
Also the new hardware wizard (perhaps related) keeps poping up.
1. WLan Bluetooth.
the computer labels proclaim inside the WiFi or Bluetooth.
* There is a Wlan switch that illuminates an indicator
* refresh list product Netowrk "(aucun réseau sans fil dans la gamme) PC is about 2 feet of wireless router that other PCs pick up fortunately"
* fix the wireless, cannot complete does the stuff that ends with "to join the wireless network!

I'm a bit woried it can be off somewhere because I can't Fn + F8 to work. There simply nothing. Is there another way to access the installation that displays Fn + F8? Maybe his game to bluetooth or something?
2, New Hardware Wizard. Manager device Idenifies "other devices" and under the present is SiW (yellow? and!)
General ' not configured not reinstall the driver.
Detail, said USB\VID_0930 & PID_0502\FB3A017A0300
but updae windows can't find a driver.Any thoughts on one of these is welcome
Hello
Tecra 9000 was equipped with optional WLan and module BT.
This means that not all units supports the feature WLan and BT.Anyway, if you found the WLan and BT label background o of the device you T9000 should support these two features.
First of all, you must make sure that the WiFi network has been successfully activated. The material on the side of notebooks switch must be activated. The FN + F8 key combination switches between the BT and WLan. So if you want to use the WLan you have to use the FN + F8 key
I put t know why the keys FN don t work on your T9000. Maybe some tools and drivers are missing. So, try to reinstall the drivers from the Toshiba page. You should find it in the ARCHIVES.
I think the unknown device could designate the BT module and the driver missing BT.
The BT driver here could be downloaded from this page:

Hello
I have finally narrowed it down to my performace Tecra problem to the WLAN card and ask advice on what to do.
The symptoms are so: If the wireless card is active (not in market, just installed and active) the PC freezes for about 15 seconds every 60 seconds. (WLAN itself works very well when the PC has not locked up.). This is no immeidate (after priming) but will kick some time in the next few hours.
Looking at the Task Manager, the 'system' consumes 100% of CPU for three seconds separated from 4 points (which blocks everything upward) and it returns to normal for 50 seconds and then it repeats.
If I go into Device Manager and disable the Toshiba Wireless LAN mini PC card, the problem is immediately disappears.
When I try to re - activate the map (sometimes), the computer crashes with system 100% CPU usage. Thanks for your suggestions
R
Tecra 9000 MB 784. 40Gb, XP SP3.
Driver WLAN is Aegere System 7.82.0.550PS When the PC is cold started with the WLAN card enabled, the PC and the WIFI works very well for a while (an hour or two) then the symptoms kick gel.

Issue when installing fresh Windows XP on Tecra 9000
I have a Tecra 9000 running Linux.
I would like to install windows XP but the Setup CD I charge readers and then crashes to windows is the loading screen. I have no recovery disks or driver for this computer as I bought it used. and I don't know why he struggled.
The SN for the unit is Z1086914G ST900-0.
I have read forums about similar problems and think it might be the chipset driver for the HARD disk.I can't find a driver for nowhere so I can't try this line of thinking.
Anyone has any ideas.
Hello
As I remember the Tecra 9000 does not support RAID or SATA controller that would require RAID or SATA drivers, so I put t think that your problem is related to the missing driver
Have you tried to install Win XP SP2 from container?
Are you sure that the HARD drive is OK? I think you should check the HARD disk for some problems initially. -
Tecra 9000 - BIOS block 1 damaged
I have a Tecra 9000 with a broken BIOS.
I looked at upgrading the BIOS FAQ [1] and searched the forum (found [2]). However, I have no Windows installation and at least my Toshiba Tecra 9000 doesn't have a floppy drive, so I can't follow the procedure described here.

So, what should I do?
BTW: I can't real poster on this forum. I can't post the exact BIOS error message because the forum software claims that I used profanity. The relevant part is contained in the subject line of the thread.

Tecra 9000: SD card reader does not work with XP
I've made some progress on this issue, it seems that Cardbus devices cannot share IRQS, although the main problem is that FFDFB200-FFDFB3FF memory address is shared by the SD card controller and device memory SD card. Unless we find a way to edit the registry to resolve this conflict of memory, the simple answer is that the SD card reader does not work under XP.
I think that it would take a major surgery of the register or re-writing of drivers to move the address of memory used by the SD card device, I always work on this for now.
Can someone support Toshiba or Toshiba Marketing explain to me why my Tecra T9100 has a "Designed for Windows XP and Windows 2000" sticker on it, when Toshiba does fully support XP on the 9000 series?
David
[Edited by: admin]
Hi David
Unfortunately, I n t think that you will find here a Toshiba marketing person or other departments. It is ONLY a user to user forum.
What you say, it is simply NOT true.
The Tecra 9000 was delivered with 3 different OS.
It was delivered with Windows XP Pro, W2k and Win98. You can order all the images of this Toshiba home Toshiba service partner. That's why Tecra 9000 does support Windows XP!
Tecra 9100 has been bundled with Windows XP and Windows 2000 and also supports Windows XP!Of course, there are different models with a different hardware configuration, but all supports Windows XP.
I put t know why you get this error message or why you cannot use the SD card, but I guess you don t use the image of Toshiba. That's why you installed your operating system isn't properly. Because you are a newbie you don t know the Toshiba all the driver installation must be done in the right order and all Microsoft QFEs must be installed also.
As you can see you must pay attention to many important things if you want to manually install the operating system.
Good day

Hello world
I realized that newer versions of Toshibas Power Saver
available for the new notebooks Tecra. I use Power Saver 4 on my Tecra 9000. I just tried to install the latest version of PowerSaver on my Tecra 9000. Installation seems to work, but after completing the procedure, an error sound due and energy savings has not started properly, but I have no massage error. If I try to run the energy saver manually I don't receive a massage of error, that I don't have permission to start the process!
Is it possible to install and use a newer version of the saving on the Tecra 9000? What is the latest version that I can use on the Tecra 9000? I hope that no version 4?Best regards
Mason
Hi Matty
Can you please tell me do you have had problems with energy savings? For each series of notebook for each laptop model there are aligned in each model versions, and you can use only the energy savings that are made for your model of 9000.
Believe me, the best version for your Tecra is the version that you can find on the CD tools & utilities. If there is no problem with energy saving, it is not necessary to make any update.

Tecra 9000 - error message with Windows XP SP3 home edition
Hello
I have a Tecra 9000 in very good condition, until yesterday, I have no problem!
After updating my Windows XP service pack 2 on the "service pack 3", everything works fine but when I press the button 'TOSHIBA controls' and 'mouse' for setting, Windows error message occure: "run a dll as an app"!Even if I go to "Start" and "Control Panel" and press the mouse, after setting close icon, or just simply do nothing (cancel), the same message! I did not notice any other problem with the TOSHIBA utility!
My driver for mouse is "Logitech mouse ware, 9.40! Can you help me?This oldie works well with Windows XP SP2 home edition and in my opinion you should use without SP3. Try to remove the SP3, and I hope that everything will work properly again. Problem is that the old tools and utilities designed for Toshiba probably aren't tested and updated to SP3.
I have more Satellite M70 and use sill with SP3. I don't want to risk anything and have problems.

Tecra 9000: Problems with 2nd Battery Pack in Slim SelectBay
Hello
When I insert the second battery (PA3074U-1BAT) in Slim Select Bay the battery does not charge and is not recognized by the Tecra 9000 laptop: status led on the front is not lit.
If I insert the DVD of Tecra drive for example, everything works fine.
I know that the battery is 100% working since I put it in another Tecra 9000 occurs flawlesly.
Why doesn't the laptop to work with the second battery? Any ideas?
Thank you.
Hello
I put t knows exactly why the second battery does not work in your Tecra 9000, but I found another display created by your all about this Tecra 9000 and looks that you have disassembled the laptop, and maybe you have damage or not connected something.
In my opinion, every single computer laptop part should be checked again!

Tecra 9000 - left speaker does not work
Hello
the left speaker of my Toshiba Tecra 9000 no longer works.
Strangely, the right one still works perfectly. As far as I can tell this is not a problem concerning the links between the speaker and the motherboard.
I disassembled the laptop to check if the connection and firmly plugged it.Any ideas what the problem may be?
Thank you.
Hello Peter
As I see that you started several threads with different themes on your old Tecra 9000. I don't know where the condition is your Tecra but according to your assignment, you have disassembled the laptop integer. Have you taken some disassembly instructions or you did at your peril?
What about the speaker? Check all sound settings or player settings you use. Maybe left speaker off ot the sound is set to the right speaker only. If nothing is done it is possible that left speaker is defective. Tecra 9000 is old enough for laptop and everything is possible.
