Tecra A10 Running XP - drive DVD Toshiba - missing Modules

When running a DVD Toshiba drive on these laptops we get
"DVD player or the necessary modules for this app is missing." If the application restart does not resolve the problem, please reinstall the application.

Yes we tried to reinstall - and Yes, we get the same message
Yes, we can use power DVD and works - but of course there is a cost of license for this software, and we hope to avoid as the Toshiba software should work.

Laptops were Vista but have been downgraded to XP - all drivers installed e.t.c.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Bin_Lurchin,

After you uninstall a Toshiba DVD player, have you tried to clean your windows using CCleaner? Which is a nice tool that removes old keys registry and other unnecessary stuff.
Check this box!

Also, I prefer VLC media player for watching movies. Have you tested this tool?

  • Drive DVD Toshiba x 64 for Windows7

    Hello.

As in the title I initially installed Vista Ultimate x 84 and in this system, the Toshiba DVD player program. It's ok because it converts the videos in HD. On the second partition 2 installed Windows 7 Ultimate x 64.

My question is if anyone knows where I can download this DVD Toshiba x 64 drive in Windows 7. In 84 of the line DVD player x when you install the x 64 line displays an error.

    Hello

If you would simply upgrade the Win Vista to Win 7 then Toshiba preinstalled applications would be repries by Win 7.
Where the drivers or tools are not published for Win 7 it s better to make an upgrade instead of clean install.

Right now, you have two options; You can download the player out to Vista or you will wait until this player would be released for Win 7

According to the instructions on the help page of DVD player I have the color scheme defined in Windows Vista Standard and the display settings to the highest (32 bit), but DVD player insists on changing the Windows Vista Basic color scheme.

I have looked through the settings for DVD playback, but could not find something that looks like it could remedy this. Everyone knows this or knows how to fix it?

  • Re: Tecra A10 - PTSB1E Windows 7 x 64 missing device driver

We did a clean install of Windows 7 x 64, downloaded and installed the Windows 7 x 64 drivers/files specific to [http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=UK] but who still have a view of the unknown hardware device in Device - Manager

    Other devices
    PCI Simple Communications controller

    Hardware ID shows like PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_2A44 & CCSUBSYS_00011179

A quick Google seems to show that it is a kind of Intel management device

Someone throw somemore light on that?

    Hello

I used the database to search for the A 2, 44, of device ID
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

It seems that it s an Intel Management Engine Interface.
I think that you will need to install an Intel chipset driver that is designed for the portable yoru chipset.

  • Drive DVD Toshiba on Satellite U300 does not

I have a new Sat U300 and the Toshiba DVD player refuses to work, the message is that a module is missing.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

WHERE´s the problem. Uninstall the current version installed, and then reinstall the Toshiba HD-DVD player. It would be best if you look at the [Download Driver Toshiba Site | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp] updates to this program.

If this is not enough, all your backup files and perform a full system recovery, which should really help.

Otherwise, give a few comments here.

  • Tecra 9000 running W2k - driver for the Audio controller problem!

    Help, please!

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra 9000 and recently discovered that the sound was no longer working. I'm not sure exactly when he first stopped working, but believe it was with MS Windows 2000 Updates or when cleaning PC after spyware attacks. While they inspected the real device (Yamaha AC - XG Audio Device), it has each if useful ""! "with a ' Code 10 - device cannot start", in the "Device status" screen
I removed the device and allowed windows to detect & install, without success, then downloaded and tried many devices and generic drivers, drivers and
even later as suggested on a Web of Toshiba site, I find
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com namely;

    Driver date: 22/05/2001 Version: 5.12.1.2138

I'm at a complete loss as to why it has stopped working and what to try next to try and solve the problem. Any
help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Concerning

    Hello

It is possible only after the installation of the MS Updates that the audio driver is blocked by a load of your system and no sound can be heard.

If you want you can try to install this driver:
    http://drivers.Soft32.com/driver/download-Yamaha_AC_XG_Generic_Drivers_for_YMF753_743_752-24609.html

It is useful after installing SP2. I don't know if this will help in your case, but you can try it.

  • Drive DVD Toshiba says to change windows settings

How can I change the color scheme of windows 7 standard parameter
When I try to use the toshiba dvd player, I get a message to change the color scheme of windows 7 standard setting.

I don't know what that means or how to do it.

Can you please tell us which model of laptop you have and that you use the original preinstalled recovery image?
I use a Toshiba DVD player with resolution + on my Satellite P500 and so far I didn't noticed any problem with any type of parameters.

Try to follow: right click on desktop > customize > try to turn into Windows basic theme. In the past, some people have reported similar problems, and there was a compatibility problem with the Aero feature.

Can watch you movies with the help of other players, such as WMP or VLC?

  • Boot Linux on Tecra A10 SD

Hi, I have a fairly new Tecra A10 running Vista. I would use a SD card (SDHC, ideally) to boot Ubuntu/XUbuntu.

I can do the Linux work from a USB startup key, but can't seem to work on the SD card. the methods that I used for the USB (taken from the site PenLinux) do not seem to transfer.

At the start of the machine, I use F12 and try the option to boot disk/SD or USB port, or causes my boot SD card.

I guess I have to do something with the "SD Boot Utility" to force the card to look like a floppy disk. But I don't have the slightest idea how to do it.

    Any thoughts?

    ; Nigel.

I am wanting to do exactly the same thing with a nice shiny new Portege R500. I installed 'successfully' Ubuntu 8.10 on my 8 GB SDHC card (it has detected, partitioned correctly etc.). I put the bootstrapper on the map, I thought it would be able to see that, as partition bootable, but it did not work at all.

I considered if I have to install the bootloader on the physical hard disk, but do not know if it will help (i.e. put something in pointing to/dev/mmcsd hd0 (or whatever it was called).

Assistance (we two) would be greatly appreciated! I'm sure that it's possible it's I have to be. I also had same experience, that Linux would boot 100% AOK off a USB key, but it would just do nothing on the SD card.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Cannot read Blu - ray discs using a DVD Toshiba or Corel WinDVD player

We just bought a blu - ray disc and tried to play on the laptop with two programs that have been pre-installed on the computer.

Drive DVD Toshiba says "this player does not support playback of the DVD" O.o

And Corel WinDVD says "WinDVD information service is not yet ready. "Please try again later".

I've updated the Win DVD player and he always made the same mistake.

Drive works in our other blu - ray player.

    How can I fix?

Can you please tell us which model of laptop you have exactly (the complete model name)?

  • Re: Tecra A10 - can I install Windows 7 64 bit?

    Hello Toshiba & Forum

I want to buy a Tecra A10 1GV, but always delveres Toshiba laptop with a 32-bit Windows 7 Prof
In my eyes that seems to be a Ferrary with a steam engine.

The version of recovery sometimes offer 32 and 64 bit Installation.
Does anyone know, if this would be possible with the Tecra A10?

Is something wrong with a Tecra and a 64 Bit - system?

    Michael

    derEntwickler

    Hi Michael,

In my opinion the Windows version (32-bit or 64-bit) has nothing to do with the hardware of the laptop. If you use 3 GB of RAM or less in my opinion 32-bit is sufficient because it s not slower or faster for 64-bit. It is just necessary to use 4 GB of RAM.

But as Al - eX has already written that you can download all the drivers on the Toshiba site. Check this box!

  • Tecra A10 - 1 HL: released a new version of custom display driver

My Tecra A10, use an old versionf of the display driver: Mobile Intel (r) 4 Series Express Chipset Family 8.15.10.1872.

On Intel site now there are versions of recent that solves many problems: I can not install because Tecra A10 uses a version customized for this driver and install no customized version of Intel can cause problem!

When Toshiba release new customized version? Update the site the last and unique output is of * 08-13-2009 *: it's time to update... or not?

    Hello

May I ask why you need a new display driver? Do you have problems with your laptop or what exactly?

I mean that if the official driver of Toshiba works correctly I don't see a reason to update something. Never touch a running system ;)

  • Tecra A10 - 12O: installing the driver network card in Windows Server 2003 R2 Std

    Hello

I received 6 laptop Tecra A10 - 12O, and we need to install Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition with SP2 in all these six machines. Windows Server 2003 has been installed perfectly, but now we have only the network LAN card to work but we are unable to install its driver. When I installed Windows XP from the supplied DVD for Toshiba, it says Intel 82567V Gigabit network adapter. I tried to download the drivers for this adatpor of drivers Toshiba, Intel Web site, but it will not install in Windows Server 2003. I also tried manually force to choose and install a driver from the list, I choose that it will install but shows yellow question mark in Device Manager means that it does not work with this driver.

I also tried the same Intel 82567V drivers from some sites non-Toshiba, of these models using the same network card, but is not truck drivers at all.

I understand these laptop computers does not support Windows Server 2003, but these were ordered to be used as servers with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and I am required to make the Installer only with activated and installed network adapter.

I try last week and exhausted all means to get the installed network adapter driver, but all have failed. Can someone please help with this? All support will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Charwal

    Hey Buddy

If I m not wrong Windows Server 2003 uses the same drivers as Win XP and I guess that it s driver problem not a LAN, but perhaps also the problem of Windows Server 2003 installed.

You are right; the LAN chip seems to be Intel 82567V and the LAN driver downloaded from Intel page should work 100%.

In your case, I would recommend installing the chipset driver.
Remove the LAN card from Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Then go back to Device Manager and update driver in pointing devices Manager to the place where the driver downloaded LAN was stored on the HARD drive.
