  • Satellite Z930 - after the update of the BIOS, additional RAM no longer works

I bought my Z930 Satellite in August and installed 2 GB of additional RAM in it. Worked well, the Ultrabook detected and had total 6 GB of RAM.
Yesterday, I stopped ignoring these messages from Toshiba Tempro and installed the BIOS update suggested that Bios 2.20 (not sure what version it was before). Now, I have several problems:

    * First *, my Ultrabook no longer starts with the extra RAM. I press the power button and then the power light flashes: yellow 2 times 1 times orange loop. The screen stays black and the CPU fan starts at the maximum level... Only when I remove the extra RAM, then it boots.

    * Second problem *, without my extra RAM, it starts, but sometimes with the fan from the CPU to the maximum level. I so restart it stops.

    * Third problem *, Windows doesn't detect only 2 GB of RAM. I have now no extra RAM mounted, it should detect the 4 GB of RAM, as when I bought it. Now, there are only 2 GB...

So this is what happens when I install the proposed updates? -.-
So, what can I do now? At least, I want my preinstalled 4 GB of RAm back. Is there a BIOS downgrade, or something similar to undo changes?

    Thanks for the final suggestions!

  • Tecra 8100 - upgrade RAM

There was a discussion here ("Tecra 8100 - upgrade RAM") on the upgrade memory.
He said that for TECRA 8000 - capacity maximum 256 MB memory (2 x 128). (unlike TECRA 8100 - which can be upgraded to 512)

Does anyone know if the BIOS change may allow 512 MB with TECRA 8000?

    Thanks in advance,
    Piotr

    Hello

I don t think that after updating the BIOS on the Tecra 8000, you will be able to use the 512 MB of memory.
Like you said you can use max 256 MB (2 x 128 MB SDRAM)

  • Installation of additional RAM in T500

Basically, I got my T500 this year with an additional ram to complete the 2 GB, it comes with.  I know where the ram is and how to get there, but I'm confused about how the second ram card goes on top of the old.  The only video on the website lenovo shows a guy put in the first map of ram.  Any instructions on how the second card must be facing, a sign that it is connected, and I have to to see if my computer recognizes the new ram would be very useful.

    Thanks in advance.

    ajmack2,

I'm going to assume that you now have only 1 module installed, a single 2 GB module in the lower slot.   The modules are memory clavetés so that they can really only go one way.  After removing the keyboard and palm rest, insert the new memory module in the empty holder.  Sometimes, there is a flap or little material there which partially obstructs your vision of the socket.

The module goes into a corner and you insert in to the screen, then press gently downwards.   The holes at each end of the module must be aligned with the clips and they should snap into place.

When you put together and restart, you can check that it's seen either by opening a command prompt and type "winver", or go in start-> my computer-> information system (on the left at the top of the page system tasks).  The general tab of the resultant pop up screen should show you how much memory is available.

Note winver and control panel will report slightly different amounts.  With a 32 bit OS, you will see more 3 GB if, and when you run the integrated graphical mode, you can only see 2.5 GB in some cases because some is reserved for the video.

    Best regards

  • Tecra 8100 - upgrade RAM and HARD drive

    Hello
I just got a Toshiba Tecra 8100. I do not have this small a HHD and I wanted to know what size I can get it up to. I know y thread already asked this same question, but the technology continues to go better then perhaps there are HHD I can get.

I am also wanting to upgrade the RAM. I've seen places that sell 144pin PC100 512 MB and I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade this 2 of them or not.

    Any input would be great!
    Thank you
    Doug

    Hello!

The Tecra 8100 was delivered with HARD s up to 20 GB drive. I'm pretty sure that this laptop has a limitation of LBA 28 bits ([www.48bitlba.com]).
I put t know what HARD drive you have at the moment, but a hard HARD 40 GB or 60 GB would work in this good old classic.

In addition, the Tecra 8100 can be upgraded to 512 MB of RAM. So that you can t upgrade your laptop to more RAM.

    Good bye

  • Tecra A7-237 - RAM upgrade question

    Hello

I installed and works 2 x 2 GB Ram (4 GB) module in my Tecra A7-237. works perfectly on Windows 7 64 b

    My question is this:

I can't install two modules x 4 GB (8 GB) in the computer?
I find modules, (CT51264AC667) I just need to know if the phone accepts.

    Thank you very much

I found info that Tecra A7 can be improved with max 4 GB of RAM, so 2 x 4 GB may not work.

  • Tecra M5 - DVD - Ram is not recognized

When stop & restart lappy dvd - ram is not recognized by the system, or BIOS, the light on the flange of the discs is on but when I press the button open nothing happens. I installed the latest firmware, I also don't you any driver of indevice error messages sound as if the reader is not installed, but the light on the drive is turned on but does not open.

    Some1 can help me please?

    Model name: SN-S082H/baby
    Code OEM: TS
    F/W ver. SB01

Follow the instructions posted by Akuma. Maybe this can solve the problem.

Also, I checked the Tecra M5 user manual. There is a list with compatible DVD players, and your new drive is not listed. Not every drive is compatible with any laptop.
If it doesn t work get the reader to the merchant computer buy a compatible player that is listed in the user manual:

  • Bad for Tecra A7-248 RAM?

I was looking for a RAM to my laptop TECRA A7-248, and the answer I get is to google for "Kingston DDR2 PC2-4300" or "OCZ DDR2 PC2-4300". "."
In the eyes of kingston looking for ram to my pc model, I find that the best memory for my pc was the KTT533D2 / 1 G or KTT533D2 / 2G.
For Europe, view links kingston to info-quest quests.
For the other side info-quest told me that there are 533 sugest and not avalaible buy me at 667 Mhz. According to the FSB, the number of Mhz was compatible with my pc.
Finally got to me, by info-search module KVR667D2S5 / 2G, but when I did, my laptop not turn to start condition but only the power on led, and that's all...
If you have an idea about, please respond to...
    Can I return this return...

Of course you can turn it on back. I also think that there is a compatibility issue. To be honest RAM Kingston module are very high quality product and maybe you have the wrong module.

I found info on the compatible RAM for your Tecra A7. It is recommended to use follow Rams:
    512 MB DDR2-533 PA3412U - 2 M (51)
    1 GB OF DDR2-533 (PA3411U-2M1G)

  • Tecra A5-145: RAM upgrade

    Hello

I want to improve my Tecra A5-145 to 1 GB of RAM. Of memory should what type of bars I buy?

I heard it supports dual channel 533 MHz RAM? I want the maximum memory performance, so I need to buy two 512 MB modules each to get the fashion channel, correct?

What type of such RAM PCxxxx?

What brands are available / what is recommended?

    Thank you

    Best regards
    Rasmus

    Hello

Toshiba recommends using PC2700 DDR - RAM modules.
In this case, you must use these memory modules. Also if you want to use DDR technology it must connect the two modules. In this case, the slot memory two motherboards must be used (2 x 256 or 2x512MB or 2x1024Mo).

  • Satellite U920T - 11 c: how to insert additional RAM modules?

Anyone know if there is a service manual for this model or a schematic representation inside this computer with the lid back.

    Thank you

The memory of U920T satellite is not user upgraded. This means that if you do want to upgrade the memory, please contact an authorized Toshiba maintainer for assistance.
In which case you would try to disassemble the laptop by yourself, you will lose the warranty.

But to my knowledge the U920T Satellite series supports ONE slot memory and memory that one module (max 8GB RAM) can be installed. So even if you do not upgrade the memory, you are limited to 8 GB of RAM.

  • Y at - it a clear indicator or a code to indicate if a stick of RAM is registered or unbuffered? I would like to know for sure before installing additional RAM for this Mac Pro (2013). Thank you in advance. David

    Hello, all:

Y at - it a clear indicator or a code to indicate if a stick of RAM is registered or unbuffered? I would like to know for sure before I add that extra RAM for the empty slots this Mac Pro (2013) that a 2 x 8 is installed.

    Thank you in advance.

Post edited by: AppleHarvest (typo corrected)

The 4 and 8 GB sticks are not saved while the sticks of 16 and 32 GB are registered. As you seem to know, you can not mix registered and unregistered sticks. For example, you can only add 4 or 8 GB sticks to your present 8 GB sticks

  • Satellite L30-105 does not recognize the 1 GB of additional RAM

Hi there I hope someone can help me

I have a Satellite L30-105 PSL33E, which came with 1 GB of ram installed (2 x 512 MB made by TeamViewer)
and it's terribly slow with vista, not to mention programs.
The toshiba website says max RAM is 2 GB, so I bought a Kingston 1 GB ram chip to increase the ram to 1.5 GB. I thought should try before moving to 2 GB

However after installing memory vivid it's show still only 1 GB in windows and in the bios (894 + the rest for video). It has the latest available BIOS on the site 3.10, yet still does not recognize the chip.

The chip is installed in the lower slot, including the original 512 at the top (closest to the keyboard)

Are limited to only some of the Satellite of RAM?
The old subjects indicate if kingston does not work try corsair.
Other topics suggested to change slots
Others suggest that it may have only two of the same ram chips in IE 2 x 512 or 2 x 1 GB, you may not have 1 of each

Can anyone help? everyone knows about similar problems?

I will not buy any more RAM to try different brands for the same issue to occur

    Hello

The L30-105 is able to manage the 1024Mo modules in each location it should be able to update the RAM up to 2 GB.

    > Why the RAM 1 GB module cannot be recognized?
Perhaps the two modules are not compatible with each other
I would recommend using two identical modules of the same manufacturing
I use Kingston modules, they are ok for me

  • Equium A100-147 - how to install additional RAM memory?

Can someone point me to instructions on how to mount an extra internal memory for a satellite A100-147.

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

Upgrading RAM is quite easy: remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Turn around the laptop and remove the screw fixing the memory module cover and lift to it. Now you can insert a second memory module.

Also, check your user manual. You will find more details and photos on this upgrade. It can be downloaded on the site of Toshiba, if you n t have more. ;)
