Tecra A2: No power to the AC adapter / CC

For a little while my Tecra A2 power connection was loose - I mean there sometimes need a bit of agitation to do work.

Today the power stopped working. It wouldn't charge it or power the computer.
I checked the fuse and the power cord become hot when its plugged in.

What would be my next line of inquiry, considering that I don't have a spare adapter and no person with a similar laptop?

See you soon.

It looks like a faulty adapter. You should not t use it and need to communicate with the service provider authorized in your country for replacement.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - no power supply the AC adapter

    Hello

I recently had some problems with powering the my Satellite PRO A120. Initially I was not getting any power to the laptop of my adapter. I bought a new card on ebay that seems to have solved the problem as my laptop turned on once more, even if I could use it only for a few minutes on the stand alone mode as it would drain completely after a few minutes. After a few weeks, the adapter has stopped working. This led me to believe that my battery might be the problem that caused the adapter switch defective.

I then bought a battery of reco and tried to see how long he would stay on without the adapter - even once the laptop only lasted a few minutes before I die

I can only use my laptop with a power adapter borrowed right now. The battery is the cause or is there an underlying problem with memory or the motherboard?

It will be expensive to fix or should I try to buy a battery and the original power cord and see if it works

Your opinions and comments would be greatly appreciated.

    > After a few weeks, the adapter has stopped working. This led me to believe that my battery might be the problem that caused the adapter switch defective.

It is a nonsense. The battery does not affect the power adapter!
The battery loses own performance during use of the laptop and sooner or later, the battery will discharge.
This is nothing unusual happens to all batteries

In your case, it could be a defective battery and AC adapter malfunction
It is very rare that the two parties would begin to malfunction at the same time, but it possible s

However, in my view the laptop must be tested using the new battery and AC adapter.

  • Tecra A7 can't find the LAN adapter

I recently reinstalled windows professional and can't seem to get the LAN adapter if displayed in windows, I already checked the config in the bios to see if it has been disabled. Any who have similar problems?

    Hello

properly installed all necessary drivers? If not already done you should do so immediately.

I guess you have an intel lan card, so it would be useful to install the latest software proset intel, which must be downloaded on the website of intel.

Have you the LAN card worked properly with the former system installed?

  • Satellite P30-109 works to power when the AC adapter is plugged

    When I unplug the plug charger, it automatically goes to the battery: so far nothing wrong with it;
The point is that when I have the rear the charger plug into the socket on the battery until when, after about 20 minutes remaining with the high performance plan, begins to 'pip' (less then 10% battery) and goes into 'coma '.

Normal discussion it should go on net power and automatically fill the battery

Just after I stopped it, I disconnect the battery and reconnect it, then it starts to load again.

The battery is not new, according to Everest 65% usage level; It takes 20 minutes at this time for me more than enough. I just need to move the pc from one room to another for a presentation.

Although I wouldn't use the battery I still have a question: the cap on the back of the laptop is not really tight: sometimes he loses contact: without battery, it would be abruptlly pass.

  • 10 updates Windows Power affecting the Wifi adapter?

Until this weekend, I was able to close the lid of my HP Pavilion and use an external monitor with wifi full power. However, after a series of updates from Windows last week, when I close the lid now: first wifi loses connectivity for 20 or 30 seconds, and then he picks up the connection, but speeds are greatly reduced and in some cases, connection with websites expires as evil to load pages.  Control speeds with cover facing upward and the lid down is day and night.

I turned the power settings for the adapter on and out, tried to uninstall then reinstall the adapter, roll back the driver, by changing power options in Windows 10 but nothing seems to make a difference.  Its almost as if the updates included a substitution which affects the adapter wireless to save energy.

Apart from back to a restore point before updates, suggestions or tweaks?  Someone else having new wifi problems after recent updates of Windows?

    Thank you

    Thank you for reaching out.

FYI - my product numbers is L0N80UA #ABL but... A new set of Windows updates came today and low and here's the problem seems to be fixed (or at least much better).

If you have ideas on what has caused this for later use, I am interested to hear, but for now, I think that it resolved.

  • Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter

I have a home network with two computers Vista and I have a Vista laptop for work.  Where my work laptop is home it does not automatically connect to the internet, similarly if I want it.  When I go to network and sharing on laptop computer center it displays icons for the laptop, my home and internet network.  Threre is a X red between the network icon and the internet.  If I click on the red X a pop-up window indicates that Windows checks the problem.  Then a box will appear with several options, one if which is automatically "get new IP settings for the NIC 'Wireless Network Connection'.  When I click on a window pops up that says repair, and after a brief interval, she announced that the problem has been fixed, and it was fixed.

How can I configure things so that she will do it automatically without this manual intervention.  There must be some way because I have never asked a password or permission to continue.

If I turn off the laptop and then turn it back on a few moments later, the network connection is still there.  The problem occurs when I try again a few days later.

    Thank you.

P.S. I tried to submit this a couple of days, but it does not appear under my son, so I don't know what happened.  If the previous post is without me being able to find I apologize.  I don't like having to type things, that's for sure. Jim

Thanks for the reply.  I did it.

I'm not sure it would fix the problem however, because the problem occurs after a day power off and power back up a few days later.  So presumably the power to the network adapter has been disable for power off intervals.

Something happened tonight when I put under tension.  Asked me to confirm something on the network (unfortunately I can't remember what) and after that, I was connected to the internet - without having to go through the manual process described with my problem.  So maybe something has been reconfigured will correct the problem. • Tecra M5-388: touchpad question after you have connected the new adapter

    Hello

I have recently brought a new adapter to replace my old on my Tecra M5-388 by ebay, it has the Toshiba logo on it and safety symbols and plug in my mouse immediately after began to falter on the point that I rely on and the touch pad has become rather not consistent; Disconnect the power supply and it goes back to normal.

The thing is that the former adapter was a clover sheet plug in brick, even if this new is a figure 8.
Does anyone know if the maps are specific to each model?
I'm a little worried that too much current is running through the laptop.

    Any help would be great.

    Thank you

    That s a great info!

  • Tecra A5: touchpad issues only when the AC adapter plugged

    Hello

I have a very strange pb with my tecra a5: when I plug in the power supply, my touchpad behaves oddly (latency), as soon as I unplug the power touchpad is ok.

I tried many things (including total reinstall + change the touchpad), the pb is still there.

An idea or a similar experience?

    Hello

Recommend to test this with the new adapter recommended by Toshiba.
I read here in the forum on a similar topic that could be solved by the new adapter.

  • Tecra M1 does not supply power to the top

Got a Tecra M1 refusing power upward for a few days.

The M1 has 3 LEDs to indicate: (a) the power is connected (b) the unit is turned on (c) battery is available / recharge.
Each of them can be green or amber.

    The symptoms are:
-with AC adapter and batteries connected, (a) and (c) are green
-turn on the laptop, the BIA (b) is green turing for a fraction of a second. then start orange flashing with more or less 1 second frequency. Obtained intermediate beep on speaker with the same frequency.
-l' display is the Bank. Not same bios appears.

    I already tried the following:
    (1) remove AC and the battery, wait a while, connect the two and restart. Same question
    (2) remove the battery on AC. same question.
    (3) remove AC, boot on battery. Same question.

    Any idea?
No one knows the meaning of having this "power-o" orange led flashing.
    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

    > Remove AC and battery, wait some time, connect the two, and restart. Same question
Good work because it has been described [HERE: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/ann.jspa?annID=21]

Unfortunately this s all you can do if your computer laptop doesn t start. For the moment, it looks like a serious hardware malfunction and the motherboard or the CPU could be affected.

I recommend you contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can make an accurate diagnosis and tell you how much a repair would cost.

    Good luck! :)

  • Tecra 8000: Question on the AC adapter

    Sorry bad English.
The power suply to my tecra 8000 does not work it is not the wire but the receiver most? in Notepad. I have a new laptop, but there are some files inside the tecra and because I have no power I can't reach it. Does anyone nows a solution that won't cost me a lot of money?
    Greetings:

    Hello

I'm not sure what you mean by 'receiver' on the adapter, but if the AC adapter is dead you will need a new.
    The Tecra 8000 uses this AC adapter: PA2450U - 15V, 3A, 45W
If you want you can try to google for the part number and I'm sure you can find some good offers.
You can also order this part form the Toshiba service partner in your country.
It is a way easier to buy some supported and compatible.

  • Tecra 9100 does not supply power to the top

    Hello

I got Tecra 9100 laptop computer and you have a POWER PROBLEM.
Basically, it got stuck at the start of the OS and I was unable to click or move the mouse to do something. So I held the power button to turn it off. I do not turn on again entered game coz I had to go somewhere.

So when I tried to move THE next day and he won't power upward. I can see a GREEN LIGHT but can not hear any CPU, the FAN, the monitor or the hard sound. When I connect to the AC adapter, I can see the LOAD LED but nothing else seems to be powered.

I also tried to replace the memory Module, but still won't power upward. I guess that the motherboard does not have to be ABLE so nothing is turned. But the one thing that I do not understand why the POWER LED on (GREEN LED) is on, unless it has the power source.

Can someone tell me what I need to do?
    Help, please

    Thank you

    Hi Sonia,.

I suggest that you try to remove the battery and power supply so that all power of the laptop is turned off. Reconnect AC power and try to turn on the laptop. If it works, then re-install the battery. I think that the electronics of power sometimes get "stuck" and this procedure usually receives smooth them.

If the unit still does not power on after having tried the above procedure, then I suuspect there must be a problem of internal material in which case you must take the device to a partner of Service authorized for rectification.

    Kind regards

  • Tecra A2 used power up after upgrading the hard drive

I have a Toshiba Tecra A2. Hard drive 60 GB factory begins to run out, so I installed a new 160 GB drive.

But the system will not power on with the 160GB inside.
When I press the power button the AC light goes from green to orange and blinks short short short Long Long Long in this sequence

If I put the original drive, it does not supply power to the top.

Any ideas what I can do about it? I got tired of updating bios on Toshiba website, but he has not made a difference.

    Thank you

    Hi DenSys,

    > Any ideas what I can do about it?
In my opinion, the case is clear: either this new HARD drive is defective or it s is not compatible to your laptop. But if everything works with the old HDD, you contact the new 160 GB back

Your laptop has an IDE interface for HARD drive? If so don t forget that it will be able to manage the hard disks up to 128 GB only due limitation LBA 28 bits. In order to check another model.

  • Tecra S3: > 50% CPU power to the driver NVidia (DAAC)

    Hello

I just installed my new Tecra S3 and found that the fan was working most of the time. When I analyzed the processes running on the machine (using Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com) I found that a lot of time was spent on the DPC. There are deferred procedure calls that are normally called by a driver when a piece of hardware to generate an interrupt hardward.

This problem (the DPC taking over 50% of the CPU power) goes away when I uninstall the NVidia driver.

Someone of you (have a Tecra S3 or similar) has the same kind of problems, or now a solution?

    Hello Eddy

Are you using a designed Toshiba graphics card driver?
I use Tecra M1 and have no problem with the use of the processor, even if many different processes are active.
Thank you for using the Toshiba driver because they are design and for the units. Other pilots could damage the components of the laptop

  • Tecra 8200: If I use the moniter decrease brightness battery power

I have a laptop Toshiba tecra 8200, when I use it on battery moniter decrease brightness, I tried to adjust the power to the control panel settings, but there is no option for brightness (win xp)? anyone has idea how to adjust the brightness on battery?

    Hello

If I remember right you can set the brightness of the display by saving settings. Please start Toshiba Power saver. Check the part runs on batteries. There must be some NORMAL called marker profile. Click details, and then click standby power mode tab.

There monitor the brightness option. All the four options set at the maximum level. Now when you use your laptop on battery power the brightness of the monitor will be defined to the maximum level.

    Please test.
