Tecra A50-A-1DJ - partition SSD

I just bought a Tecra a-A50-1DJ.
The 256 GB (SSD) drive resembles the format:
1, 46 gb: recovery partition;
217, 47 gb: drive C:.
8 GB: partition for hibernation;
11, 54 GB: primary partition.

I would like to divide the space of C: drive so that it becomes:

C: 100, 47 gb
D: 100 GB
F: 17 GB

I tried with the integrated windows (disk management) with Paragon Partition Magic:
The answer is always that I can't create more than 4 partitions.

To work around the problem?

MiniTool partition Wizard can operate

    Hello
When you try to download the user manual for a Tecra A50-A-151, model No. PT644E, I offer three choices.

    How can there be three?

Although they have posting dates different all three appear to be the same and labelled 'first edition August 2013', even if they have different file names.

Who is the right one and how do I know which figure in the 'Grand Tour' is supposed to be an A50 - A and nothing else? (I do not have an A50 - in front of me.)

I'm also a little confused about this but I checked two of them and I think they are the same, so I think you can make a big mistake if you download a first or second.

    Great ride is the same.

    What can I do?

    Concerning

In my opinion, you should wait until the Windows 10 will be officially released by Microsoft and you must wait until the Toshiba would publish details of these updates for Windows 10.

This has been done in the past for Windows 8, as well as for Windows 8.1 and that's why I think that this information will be available for Windows 10 too.

  • Tecra A50-A-12F - how to set the new SSD to be recognized correctly?

    Greetings,

I installed a new SSD in my laptop, the operating system starts normally.
I bought a caddy for the old drive. Before editing deleted the partition and all connected with it.

After all mounted when I start the system can not find because it gives priority to the HARD drive.
There is no option in the bios that allows you to set which of the readers is the original.
Can free a BIOS to fix this problem?

    Thank you

After reading your ad I m a bit confused. In the middle of your laptop when you remove the cover of the memory/HARD disk you can find original 500 GB. OK you have removed and swapped with SSD. I imagine that you have installed the original recovery image and everything is OK.

What I don't understand is what what did you exactly with old original HDD. Can please explain you once again? How do you use it with your laptop Tecra? I don't have this model of laptop, but it is unclear to me that you can use two drives with him. I'm wrong about this?

    Hello

    You solved this problem?
Could you install system 8.1 Windows on this SSD drive?

I think that the installation of additional drivers during the setting procedure isn't necessary since Win 8.1 should already contain pilots essential.
From my point of view of the few, there could be a compatibility issue (maybe the SSD firmware update could solve that problem).

What another SSD disk usage? You have the same problem with other SSDS from other manufacturers?

    Your comments would be appreciated.

  • Tecra R940 with Windows 7 SSD boot failure

My company bought laptop computers Tecra R940 and replace the HDD with Kingston SSDNow v + 200 V + 120 GB SSD drives. On a test after installing the SSD device, the laptop was rebuilt with our brand image (Windows 7 x 64) that has successfully completed.

Update post however a number of issues is apparent:

1 occasionally during a restart, the laptop will display and then hang at 'starting windows' screen for the Windows logo animation appear and with the light of the hard drive continuously. After a period of time that a Windows recovery is attempted and, possibly, a reported error:

    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred

This problem will not occur at every startup, but once every 2 or 3.

    2. the following error message is logged in the Windows system log

    Source: ATAPI
    Event ID: 11
Description: The driver detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort0

I have tried the following to resolve the problem:

    1. update the R940 BIOS to the latest available (6.40).
    2. has confirmed that the BIOS SATA Controller is set to AHCI.
    3. not confirmed there are no available SSD drive firmware update.
    4. install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver of Toshiba (11.0.0.1032).
5 tried different SSD. Same errors identified, so not a faulty SSD.
6 tried the SSD in a Toshiba Portege R930. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
7 reinstall the original HARD disk. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
8A confirmed a 2nd unit (with installed SSD) logs the same event ID 11.

My tests left me at a point where I think that there is something bad at the end of R940 with a hardware or software that does not like the SSD.

If someone has solved a similar problem or have thoughts on fixing this?

    Thank you in advance.

Specific installation of corporate images are always full of risks, and quite often, there are different problems. As much as I know in the past Toshiba has created special images of recovery for some companies who ordered a specific number of booklets for employees.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I would like to know if you have tried to install own OS Win7 using the original disk of Microsoft.

I mean that it must be possible to install Win7 clean on the new laptop models. I tested it on my U940 satellite and it works well. I had some trouble with Toshiba specific stuff (tools and utilities), but it was not so important and work with Win7 was possible in any case.

I have no experience with SSD update even if I have new Tecra A11 and maybe these updates will also be interesting to me, but I think you can upgrade your Tecra with any SSD with SATA interface.

  • The HDD U940 - 12 c - partition SSD satellite configuration-

    Hello.

I have a Satellite U940 - 12 c, really niiiiiice netbook but I have some problems with the operating system and the initial Setup. Finally, I got the free Toshiba Recovery DVD (as it was not my fault, but a software one), but now I have a mess here and there. So I ask the wisdom on your part!

At first, I tried a restore with pre-installed software that did not work and just formatted my HARD drive. After that, I wrote Toshiba, that finally sent me the DVD. But in the meantime, I had need of PC, so I have all partitions formatted and installed a clean version of Windows 7.

Now that I have the recovery DVDs, I would like to install. And I want my laptop as default. In order to do that and all working no (SSD caching, Intel Rapid, RAID...), I NEED to know what are the partitions right of HDD and SSD and how they are configured (NTFS, primary... don't really know!).

I would be very grateful if anyone with a Satellite with a HARD + SSD (32 GB) drive configuration could tell me. You can check in the Disk Management to win 8 (Control Panel-> administrative tools-> management-> disk management computer)...

Also: I want to install my Windows 8 in UEFI mode. But I can't boot from a USB key so I don't disable UEFI and set the boot MSC mode. What are the steps to install and start Windows 8 mode UEFI?

All responses will be very appreciated! Thank you very much!!

    > I would be very grateful if anyone with a Satellite with a HARD + SSD (32 GB) drive configuration could tell me. You can check in the Disk Management to win 8 (Control Panel-> administrative tools-> management-> disk management computer)...

In my case, the Disk Manager contains this info:

    * Disk 0 *.
    Base
    GO 698,64
    Online

First score system reserved: 350 MB NTFS healthy (active primary partition of the system)

Second partition C: 698,29 GB NTFS healthy (Start Page file, crash dump, primary partition)

    * Disk 1 *.
    Base
    29,82 GB
    Online

D: 29,82 GB NTFS healthy (primary partition)

  • Tecra S3 M780 and Partition Magic is not possible?

    Hi all..

I hope someone can help my here.
Already tried looking but have not found an answer.

OK, I have a hard drive (100 GB) and I would do the above partition to store my data on a different partition as my operating system.

Problem is that Partition Magic does not work.
I get an error that there is a partition on my hard drive that has no drive letter.
I checked it and it's OK.

    Hard disk are:

    Allmost whole, primary drive C:
No drive letter: 16 primary MB
    No drive letter: 8 MB

I think the primary 16 MB is the problem.
Can someone tell me the reason or purpose for this partition?
It has something to do with the recovery?
Is it possible to delete each partition on the hard drive, make new partitions (C, D and E), then the recovery cd to install Windows on the C?
Or the recovery cd will automatically change the partition of the hard drive by default?

I tried to do an Image of C: with Gost or Powerquest, but it no longer works.
My intention was to create partitions and then put the image correctly.

    Cordially René

    Hello

The first question is difficult to answer. I don't know what this score is for. I don't think anyone for something special.

If you want to divide the HARD drive into separate partitions and can accept to retrieve the device, then the recovery CD can help you.
Just start on it as usual, but choose rather the Advanced recovery if Standard.
This will give you the ability to manually set the size to be assigned to the C partition (where the OS will be installed).
Once completed the installation, simply go into diskmanager, add a new partition and format it.
    TADA! You are home.

  • Clean the fan for Tecra A50

    Hello

My fan is running constantly and reports Health Monitor problem fan. How do the fan? Where can I get a service manual?
I followed the instructions to blow air from the outside - as expected this didn t work
PS: (if the only answer is that there is no repair and to communicate with a partner who will be my last Toshiba of a pro model and its price I was expecting a little bit more)

    thx for your answer

    Oliver

Service Manaual is not a public document and not the free download.
I'm sorry if this will be your last Toshiba but don't be sure that another manufacturer will give you service manual. No one will give you such document.

Laptops have a specific design and it's pretty easy to damage something. This is the reason why the dismantling procedure should be performed by authorized personnel only. When you buy TV, auto or something else, that no one will give you the service manual.

Of course, you can do with your laptop all you want but on your own risk.

Have you tried to remove the dust with compressed air.

  • HPE-400f: upgraded to SSD drive, partitions are left behind I need help to remove.

I upgraded to 250 GB SSD

I did the recovery disk and install it on the new SSD. How can I now safely remove partitions and merge it with the original disc of ssd? I want to use the 1 TB as a storage for programs to run off the SSD device how to do this and remove the operating system?

    Greetings,

Please refer to thisarticleon partitioning and formatting a HARD drive using disk management.

Yet once, you will be able to remove the volume of the BONE and, possibly, volume HP_Recovery Microsoft disk management. The reserved 100 MB volume will likely be removed using third-party disk management software.

Do not use HP Recovery Manager to remove the HP_Recovery Partition. You remove the HP_Recovery Partition SSD , not the HP_Recovery Partition of HARD drive.

In addition, it is not necessary to remove the reserved partition of 100 MB system on the HARD drive because it is so small relative to the size of the HARD drive. It is hidden so you won't see it in Windows Explorer.
