Tecra S11 - 11 p stand for the SSD HARD drive

Hello

I have a question regarding the use of the intensity of the HDD and SSD.
MyvToshiba HDD use 5V 800mA. The SSD I use takes 5 v and 1, 6a. That's double the amps used by the HARD drive.
There will be problems with the power supply?

> There will be problems with the power supply?
Why?
In the worst cases, the battery working time would be a bit shorter due to the higher consumption of the power of the SSD, but it doesn't have to be a bigger problem

If your system already has Windows installed and activated 10 follow my instructions here to directly download and reinstall clean Windows 10:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/download-Windows-10-OEM-and-retail-ISO/

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows-10/Windows-10-clean-reinstallation-via-bootable-USB-from-ISO/

Looks like you're in this scenario.

Note Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 editions are specific. If your system came with Windows 8.1/10 unilingual homepage, Windows 8.1/10 will not be activated.

Unfortunately there is no clear marker for end users to determine the edition so my advise is to try first to try Windows 10 Home, if she does not activate Windows 10 unilingual homepage.

Get a SSD for optimal performance.

Dell have updated drivers for Windows 10 pilots (WT64a) system:

    http://downloads.Dell.com/published/pages/Inspiron-15R-5521.html

See installing the driver recommended order:

If Windows 10 was not enabled you must reinstall Windows 8.1 and then upgrade. Follow my instructions here:

  • For one SSD HARD drive swapping

Permutation of my HARD for one SSD drive

    Dear people;

I recently bought a Dell SSD to swap with my HDD on my Studio 1558, Windows 7, 64-bit failure.

What I needed to know, is the image of the system will be enough to transfer all files and program, so the OS on the SSD. As much free disk space is concerned, I have more than enough to copy on.

I am concerned about Microsoft not to validate the transfer of Windows 7? I also have an OS drive that Dell sent me. Wouldn't be better to use it instead of the image of the system?

I thought that I would make sure I do that when the hour comes-any day now.

    Thanks for your time.

You must install windows from the installation media, and then reinstall all your programs and files. System images are only to reinstall on the same disk or a disk of size even. There is no problem with the license. This isn't for the computer hard drive. Reactivation should not be a problem, but you might have to talk to a person to explain the replacement of disc.

  • Can I replace the SSD HARD drive in my sve15123cv

    Hello

I use sve15123cv, I want to replace the SSD HARD drive. Is this possible?

    Which SSD is good?

    Hi zunnun,.

Thank you for visiting the Sony community!

It is possible, but we cannot guarantee that it will work without any problem. You need to consider certain things such as the specification of the HARD drive, thickness or dimension of the SSD that you plan to install first. Your Vaio SVE15123CV is a non American model. Unfortunately, we do not have full details and specifications of your machine. However, you can coordinate with the Sony support based on your location or where you bought the device.

For further assistance about your concern, please contact the representative offices of offices/Sony Sony nearest your place of residence in the Asia-Pacific region http://www.sony-asia.com/countryselector.html?hpid=countryselector:AsiaPacific. • Hard disk failed to keep windows 7 for the new hard drive or SSD

Hi, windows told me recently there is a problem with my hard drive and that I would back up my data to an external storage device, in case it fails, but don't want to backup my files because they aren't important. When I tried to access file Explorer the next day I got the warning my computer froze. I'm not him have not restarted the laptop since then in fear that it could make it more worn, since I may still need it.

I try to order a new hard drive or SSD and won't buy windows 10 because it's expensive. Instead, I want to keep my current operating system, which is windows 7 Home premium, which is preinstalled on my laptop.  I have no recovery disks and I didn't do all the backups at all, but here is a windows 7 product key stuck on the back of the laptop.

I was wondering if I can use the product key to install windows 7 on the new HDD/SSD and if yes, how, I would go to this topic. Also, if I can't do the wrench is it another way (because I may be able to use it yet), because I don't want to have to buy any other OS.

    Specifications:

    Laptop: TOSHIBA Satellite A660

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

(Let me know if you need more details)

    Thanks for any help.

If you are still able to boot from the Windows 7 Desktop on the current hard drive, try to create a set of recovery disks. See the instructions in the following article:

    https://NeoSmart.NET/wiki/Toshiba-Recovery-disk/#Create_disc_for_Windows_7

After you create the defined recovery disc, close, install the new SSD, then use the updated recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7 on new disk SSD.

You will need 4 blank DVDs.

  • iMac mid-2010 for one SSD HARD drive replacement

    Hello

After reflection, (mainly in the meantime my principalement en attendant mon iMac iMac starts!), I decided to replace the HDD with a SSD. After having done some research and I watch YouTube videos, I'm not sure if I have bought the right tools for the job. Could someone please help me and let me know if I'm not on the right track here.

The iMac in question is a model 27 "2010.

Here's what I have on order:

I also ordered suction cups and relevant screwdrivers.

I intend to completely remove the current HD and its replacement by the new SSD. Am I right assuming that I will just remove current thermal sensor cable and replace it with the one OWC? I'm not 100% on this one.

    Cheers in advance

    Ian

Yes, you just remove the thermal sensor and place the OWC in line sensor (the sticker pad can be placed on the support of 2, 5-2, 5 (as the SSD will not have a lot of heat).  The longer a cable must be re-attached the logic board.

The only suggestion I have would be - it probably need not SATA cables for this-> upgrade SSD HARD drive, thermal line sensor is long enough - in fact, too long that I had to press them to be shaped in the iMac.  Unless you plan to add other SSD in the system, since the iMac 2010 with SATA 2 (3 GB/s speed).

    Good luck

  • Tecra W50 - cannot start when installing the second hard drive (caddy).

    Hi all
    I have a Tecra W50 PT640A 04103NN1.
When a second hard drive is installed in the Bay of DVD player cell phone will try to boot from the drive bay, not the internal drive
This second drive has no operating system installed and so the fails to start.

If I hit F12 at startup and select HARD drive, while the machine starts correctly. That is starts on the main hard drive.
Change the order of boot in the BIOS makes all the difference; He will always try to boot from the second drive bay drive first.

All known A it works correctly?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Doppelfrog,
I had the same problem with my W50, got my HDD caddy a few days ago.
You have a bit of luck to fix this problem?
I believe that the Bios for this laptop is not developed to serve both drives (like the computer I had that one drive Bay) and it is not possible to prioritize the witch THAT HDD should start first...

    Kind regards

  • HP ENVY 17-j101ex - replace the SSD HARD drive

    Hello

I have HP ENVY 17-j101ex, with the standard configuration: 2 x 1 TB drive HARD 5400 RPM SATA. I want to buy 1 SSD drive and replace the first (boot) hard disk drive. I don't know if it works or not.

    I want to buy a SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SATA III (MZ-7TE250BW), 2.5 ", dimensions: 100 x 69 x 7 mm

I have to: 1 x 1 TB HARD drive (as a secondary drive) + 1 x 250 GB SSD SATA3 (as your startup with system disk)

    Is this ok?

    I found some info, that:

    Supports a 6.35 cm (2.5 in) 300 GB or 160 GB SSD (SSD) drive in 7, 0 - mm (. 28 - in.) thick

    Supports 6.35 cm (2.5 in) hard disks to 12.7 mm (. 50-in) and a height of 9.5 mm (. 37 - in)

Is it not this Samsung SSD too big?

I also found information on envy 17 series, which:

Supports the following single hard drive/solid-state drive combination configurations:
    ● 1-TB, 5400-rpm, 12.7-mm hard drive × 1 + 300-GB solid-state drive

    and also:

NOTE: Supports RAID-0 as default for all dual hard drive/solid-state drive combination configurations.

So, first of all should I disable RAID-0?

Thank you for your help and sorry for my English

In fact, I have the same model laptop PC series. You will have no problem replacing the mechanical main hard drive with an SSD. The Evo to Samsung 250 Gig is a very good choice. I suggest you get cloning software, put the SSD in the second slot, start from cloning software and copy (clone) the startup disk for the SSD. You'll slim down the contenst of the diskette of starting less than 250 concerts to achieve, but you can store files off to the second disk of 1 TB in the process. There are other ways to do this post if you have any questions.

Here is a video showing how to install the hard drive.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=wx3dMGXrGCc

RAID-0 is supported, but you wouldn't want as a second hard drive with an SSD. If your readers are appearing as volumes of letters separated in 'the PC' or 'Computer' then RAID-0 does not exist and you shouldn't have to do any disorder in the BIOS.

  • Pavilion 550-306no - for the 2nd HARD drive expansion slot?

    While thinking about replacing my old HP tractor, I browsed around the shop online for a possible new unit;

Seems there is a box called Pavilion 550-306no, sold here in Sweden, which could meet my needs.  However, does anyone know if there is room (or not) for a 2nd HARD drive? Seems all the guides of the old user on how to develop yr PC in the forum of textbooks have been nuked.

    Concerning

    Hello

The Specifications for the 550-306no indicate that it is not put into service for a disk hard 3.5 "2nd.  Review the information in the computer case.

Some models will allow a 2.5 "HD or SSD to add.  See the image below.

According to the amount of space available between the existing hard drive and the motherboard, you might be able to mount another HD using 3.5 media ".  Those that I had recommended in the past are now $40 (ouch).

  • Pavilion 15-ab057nr: How can I change for one SSD HARD drive and update my RAM?

Hi, I would like to change the hard drive of my computer (Pavilion 15-ab057nr) for one ssd and also add another module of RAM. The problem is that I've never opened a laptop before, and I don't know where to start, or what should I do after I opened the computer. I don't know if anyone could help me by giving me a guide on how to perform these upgrades, every little detail would be useful. Thank you.

    Hi @IYMF,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab057nr and tried to help you! I looked in your question about upgrading the internal hardware. I understand that you are looking to upgrade your hard drive to a Solid State Drive, as well as adding another module of RAM.

Here is a link to your Service Manual. You can find the specifications for compatible discs on page 49. Please note that this laptop model doesn't support that type hybrid Solid State Drives.

Maintenance manual, page 55, there will be a list of the size of RAM supported, but also a guide on the replacement of the RAM. Up to 16 GB of RAM may be supported in a 8GB x 2 configuration.

On pages 46 to 50 of your maintenance manual, you will find instructions on how to remove the rear panel of the laptop, as well as, instructions on the removal of the original hard drive.

I also found this Vidéo Guide giving visual aid on the replacement of the hard disk. The model of laptop in the video is not exactly the same as the model that you have, but it can provide assistance, however.

Please let me know how it goes.

You can say thanks for trying to help by clicking on the Thumbs Up below! .

    Thank you.

  • Charge of $621,78 for the bad hard drive

    Hi all

I know that this is not a question of remedy, but it should be expressed somewhere I found that I was charged for a Fujitsu 250 GB SATA HDD $621,78. Exact same drive price on ebay is $ 68. The party is certainly my fault. It was a warranty repair that turned bad. I put the old hard drive in the corner, and I forgot to return it. Warning e-mails of an imminent load was not read because of anti-spam filters. My fault. However, there is no way anyone can claim that a hard drive is worth anywhere near that amount. The laptop (a dv6700) was around $ 800! I called customer service and said that it can not be repaid, even if I have to return the defective part. I am currently waiting on a call while my case was refitted. I want just opinion of the public on this, and perhaps an HP employee who can actually do something about it will be advice. The spare part # the disk hard is 453775-001. Come on HP!

    Frustrated,

    -Corey Hansen

Gee... Thanks for the helpful reply. I already know it's my fault. The point is, I can't expect to pay that kind of money for a hard drive.

In any case, I'm happy to say that my money will be repaid. I got on the phone with them yesterday and they sent me directly to their row escalated. Apparently, the guy who helped me before in fact did nothing. All I have to do is send in the old part. Done and done.

At least we know there are a couple of sane people that work the lines of HP service. Just pray you get one when you call.
