Tecra S11 - how Volume up/down with FN keys?

How rapid decrease/increase in volume with the Fn + down arrow on Tecra S11 Windows 7 Pro? On my previous Toshiba, I had a physical Volume wheel is missing on Tecra S11 for me and Fn + keys worked on Win XP up and down.

Hey Buddy,

In my opinion, you should check the user manual.

Between the keyboard and display, you can see two buttons to increase/degrease the volume.
Check this box!

  • Tecra S11 - How to reinstall Windows 7 after upgrading the HARD drive?

How to reinstall Windows 7 pro after an upgrade to 500 GB HARD drive? How to access password protected data after relocation? How can I get a professional installation of Windows 7 DVD?

(I do not installed new HARD drive yet, but I intend)

    Hey Buddy,

You have created the Toshiba Recovery disk? Perfect!
After Exchange of HARD drive, you need this you to install Windows 7 disc. The Toshiba Recovery disk contains an image of the factory settings, which means that you will have the factory settings on the new HARD drive after the use of the disc. You must boot from it and follow the instructions on the screen.

    > How to access password protected data after relocation?
It would be interesting to know what data you mean exactly.
Before you reinstall Windows, you must back up all data on a disk for example external HARD.

  • Tecra S11 with BIOS 3.50 - USB mouse is not recognized at startup

    Hello

I installed the latest version of the BIOS in my TECRA S11 - U10, and now my "HID" device does not-that is to say my dongled USB wireless mouse. I must now remove the dongle and re - insert before the TECRA sees the mouse.
Boring, just about usable, but it's a PITA and I'm aware of always 'making/breaking' the USB connection.

Must be something to do with the BIOS and see devices HID on "start"?
Finally, I enabled Legacy USB in the BIOS device support, but still no joy. In addition, have tested the mouse on other laptops - works well at the start, so NOT the mouse.

    Suggestions, people? Thank you...

    Hello

Disconnect your USB mouse and go to Device Manager.
Remove all USB hubs and USB controllers in Device Manager list.
    Reboot the laptop.
Wait until all the USB ports have recognised and installed again.
Then connect the USB mouse and check how it works.

You should also test different USB ports available on this laptop.

  • How downgrade the BIOS on Tecra S11 - boring CPU

I have a BIOS that is "solve" the problem of high pitched noise high on the i5 CPU.
But I have the latest version of the BIOS and since then I can not downgrade to the older BIOS which allows to "solve" the problem.

    * My question is how do I get the BIOS? *
Because I send my Toshiba to RMA more because they will not fix it!

My Tecra S11 went to RMA 2 × and 2 different authorized Toshiba service approximately 1 month partner. None of them repaired my laptop! More annoying is that the Hungarian services are absolute useless! I have a 2 year problem, with the high pitched noise high CPU.

They have not replaced the defective processor, they replaced the motherboard! for no reason. OMG!
Be very careful when you buy PC Toshiba laptop in Hungary and is not due to lack of the Toshiba but authorized service partners!

    Please, Toshiba do something!

    Hello

Why do you think that CPU must be replaced?
I guess that the technicians ran some diagnostic tests which can detect defective parts, I guess the CPU was not affected, but the real question was the motherboard (because it was replaced).

However, what s your problem exactly?
Why you want to downgrade the BIOS?

  • TECRA S11 - passage of Windows 7 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit: how?

    Hi all

My TECRA S11-114 was delivered with a Windows 7 Pro 32 bit installed. I would switch to the 64 bit, but I'm at a loss about how to proceed.

    I tried the things:
-Restore to the factory settings: does not offer a choice between two versions
-restore from a DVD I created through recovery Toshiba Recovery utility: same result

    Things I have:
-Recovery DVDs created with recovery Toshiba utility
-Recovery DVDs for XP Pro, your computer

Advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!

    Igor

    Hello

I think that this laptop has been preinstalled with just OS Win 7 32 bit and you get the other Win XP DVD drive to install Win XP (if necessary)

To my knowledge, Toshiba offers with own books with images different and some models are preinstalled Win 7 32 bit and 64 bit OS and some are preinstalled only with 32-bit.

So I guess you just Win 32 bit OS and you can buy 64-bit Win 7 If you want to use this

  • How to change sound on Tecra S11?

The sound sounds aweful! Which speakers could buy and replace in my Toshiba Tecra S11?

To be honest I m really surprised by your question. Always is that laptop Tecra are designed for commercial and designed for use in offices, meeting rooms and the customer visit so the sound is not so important in the whole of the package. This is not portable multimedia, so you probably won't find any Tecra with high quality speakers inside.

OK, I can understand you and maybe it's not a bad idea to have Perfect sound on this model of laptop, but I think this is the wrong place for your question. What you need is professional advice.

I recommend you contact the nearest authorized maintainer and ask for help. They have service manuals and know what speakers are inside and what speakers can be integrated as a replacement. Maybe some high quality of harman/kardon speakers can be used for the upgrade, but that one is not easy to say.

If you do upgrade successfully please let us know and share all information with us.

  • Tecra S11 - change the resolution with FN keys gives an error

    Hello

When I change the resolution of the screen with FN + space key combo, then background turns white and the icons on the desktop disappear. Windows 7 Professional / Tecra S11

When you try, after FN + space press WIN + D (see the "D" esktop) combo and white background will appear.

It's a Toshiba sw related issue or Win7

    Thank you

    Hi petersm,

You may notice the behavior even if you change the screen resolution by using the options of the display driver?

Maybe you need to reinstall Toshiba added value Pacakge that controls the FN keys

  • Use of DVI port on Port Replicator II with Tecra S11 - 11G

    Hello together,

    I use a Toshiba Tecra S11 - 11G with port replicator.
I use an external monitor L1950, it is connectetd with VGA cable.

Now, I want to use the DVI Port of port replicator, but the monitor did not detect the signal.
Is it possible to use the DVI connection?

    Kind regards

    Michael

    Hello

Your Tecra A11 does not support DVI port
The Replicator replicates the ports available for laptop. But if the mobile phone does not support a certain port, then the port replicator is not able to reproduce such interface so I guess that's the reason why DVI ports could not be detected using port replicator.

PS: did you install the driver provided with USB 2.0 Port Replicator II package

Don't know what you're asking. A download is a download. What to do with the file later is entirely to you. If you want to install software Mac on Win, no, this cannot be done. In addition you should also have a good set of Win.
