Tecra S5 - BSOD on Vista

Hello

For the last few weeks, I get more and more my Tecra S5 Vista Business 32 BSOD.

It is normally:

IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE with STOP: 0x000000004A and different offsets.

Any ideas where it comes from? As it happens after about 15 minutes I suspect the power management Service, the screen saver turns on after 10 and hibernation has been set at 15 minutes. Then I turned off the screen saver and leave display at 20 and sleep to 25 for the socket.

The quick shows only a massive amount of errors in the NDSTray. and BlueTooth.

Thanks for the pointers.

AndyB

Hello!

If you get a BSOD something with your driver or property there.

It's not easy to tell how to solve the problem, perhaps will find you an article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.

In your case I would reinstall the laptop with the recovery disk.
Maybe it s also the RAM or disk HARD, but after the recovery, you can make sure if it s a hardware or software problem.

Good bye

    Hello

Do you get the BSOD during the BIOS update procedure?
Are you using the Windows operating system preinstalled Toshiba? or did you install your own system?

If you have installed your system, then you should check that the VAP is installed as well.

  • Tecra M9-136 - BSOD during Vista SP2 update

Tecra M9-136 asked this morning to upgrade to the Vista SP2 and in the process the BSOD 0x0000007E arrived. Restarted in Mode safe and continuous Setup and then finally reported that the update failed - and came back to SP1. It took most of the morning.

It will start in Safe Mode, but on a start normal, Vista SP1 gets through fingerprint recognition and then fails with the same BSOD (there is regarding the display of the desktop).

The laptop has BIOS 1.80 level. I tried in safe mode to install 1.90 but he told me that the battery has insufficient charge and the AC adapter is not attached. Both wrong.

Stuck - need advice. Could this be a hard failure? Can't see how I can update whatever it is if it's a soft fault.
    Thank you

Have you tried to make back the OS to an earlier time before the SP2 installation started?
You can do it in safe mode.

  • Tecra A10 - Win7 upgrade Vista Business edition

    Dear Forum

I'm curious, if you please, on a Tecra A10, which, at the time of purchase, had installed Windows Vista business.
At the latest date the owner upgraded to Windows 7 (for free I think but I'm not sure).

Windows 7 installation has become corrupted and need a new facility, but a backup has not been made.

Please someone knows if the owner has a way of re - download Windows 7 free of charge, taking into account the existing Windows 7 installation is legal.

    Yours with thanks in advance

I put t know what previous owner did somehow but if possible install clean version of Win7 and not Vista Win7 upgrade. I did it on several machines Vista and now all the machines work perfectly with the clean version of Win7 32 bit.

  • Tecra A10 - BSOD with Port Replicator Port and external monitor

    Hello

I have a Tecra A10 PTSB0A 05C023 with XP SP3 on an Express Port Replicator, running to an external monitor (1280 x 1024) on VGA. Works fine for a while then seems BSOD spontaneously when not in service - possibly when screensaver or powersaver comes into play.

    BSOD is a STOP 0x0000007E in igxpmp32.sys

I downloaded and installed the latest video drivers intel from the Web from Toshiba - 6.14.10.4953 site

Any help or advice by eliminating the BSOD would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Rhys.

    Hi mate,

I asked Google to igxpmp32.sys and this file belongs to the Intel display driver. In your case, I recommend the page Intel searching for the latest display drivers.

Also have a look on the Toshiba site for a BIOS update, or you have already installed the latest version of the BIOS?

In addition, it would be interesting to know what Port Replicator you use exactly. Can you post the model number?

  • Tecra A9 came with Vista and XP, the disks - but can not activate XP

    Hello

I have a Tecra A9, it came with Vista Business pre-installed and on a recovery disk. It also came with a XP Recovery disk.

Part of the documentation in the box suggests that I should be able to simply install XP from the recovery disc. I tried this, but I can't activate XP. I called the number of Microsoft on the activation screens and entered all the numbers, but I then told me that there is an error and I should change my product key.

My laptop on a a Vista product key stuck on the bottom. So, I seems to be a little stuck.

The sheet that was in the box says:

"it's additionall equipped with a Windows XP Professional Recovery DVD - ROM that allows you to easily install this operating system on your own. To do this, follow the instructions on the packaging of the DVD of restoration"

Usefully, there is no instructions on the packaging of recovery DVDs, I expected maybe a XP product key or something... But clearly not.

    How should I proceed?

    Thank you

    Hello

Sorry, but I'm a little confused. As much as I know Toshiba recovery image should not be enabled and if you please be so kind and explains what exactly happens when you try to use recovery media?

On what stage you must enter the product key?

  • Tecra A8 T7200 - OS Vista Business downgrade to WXP Pro

    Hello

Because of the software that I use in my work, none of the programs are vista ready, I need to install WXP pro on my new laptop, my Tecra A8 T7200 didn't come with disks of installation for the operating system, drivers, etc.

Can anyone tell me please what steps must I take to ensure that once installed WXP all drivers Toshiba and laptop computers features all work?
    Help, please!

    Hello

    That s easy.
You will find on the page of the European driver Toshiba all drivers XP and installation instructions.
Download drivers XP, check the installation instructions document and follow the guidelines.

PS; I recommend you to install XP on the second partition. In this case, you can use the two BONES; Vista and XP.

  • Tecra M2 - VAP for Vista needed

I upgraded my old M2 to run Vista professional/Ultimate Edition.
Any PPV Toshiba compatible, can I use?

I have a slow performance probably due to the processor at 600 MHz clock, which is well below the specification M735, or 1.7 GHz running.
I'm seeing if a compatible VAP can solve the problem.

My M2 bios has been flashed to the latest 1.6 version and with 2G of RAM installed.

    Thanks to advice.
    Steven

    Hello

VAP without specific software for laptop, you could use a VAP released for other series from Toshiba. You can see the latest Tecra series as well.
But to be honest I don't know if you could solve a problem of slow performance using VAP last don t see a link he m

Tecra M2 is a good old classic and you should not wonder about slow performance using Vista.
Vista uses more resources than other systems of MS at the beginning.

  • Re: Tecra M10 - BSOD with memory stick pro duo

    Hello

As a first step, I would like to apologize for my English. I'm not so good at this.

I have a M10 - 11U (PTMB3E) and Windows XP. When I insert a Memory Stick Pro Duo card to the card reader the system just fall into BSOD and reboot my laptop. It says BAD_POOL_HEADER and something else. But when I insert an SD card works properly. And I think that when I had Windows Vista everything worked well. So I invited, it is in the card reader drivers, but I can't find one that would work.

    What should I do?

    Thanks for your advice.

    Hello

For memory stick duo pro cards that you must use an adapter, you read. Do you use such an adapter?
You can find this information in the user manual and it seems that you need an adapter for the memory stick cards.
    Check this box!

In addition, you can download all the drivers on the Toshiba site:

  • Tecra M3 - BSOD if I install the graphics driver

I bought a Tecra M3 about 4 years ago. He has recently started to give the BSOD.

I started in safe mode, and it is fine. I uninstalled the graphics driver and rebooted and it works - just without the graphics driver. As soon as I reinstall the graphics driver it BSOD.

I'm sure that the GPU/VRAM has a problem of 99.9%. Sometimes as the priming of the laptop there is a random corruption on the screen (before xp load).

Of course, the GPU can be replaced without replacing the motherboard together. Replacement motherboard is 800AUD + 200AUD for install it.

In the google search; I found many people with the same problem. Perfect condition laptop Tecra with dead graphics.

The Qosmio is a reminder for the defective Nvidia GPU. The M3 has a Nvidia GPU. Why it can't be fixed too?

    Hello!

    BSOD code, you get exactly?
Maybe the problem is a driver or a software problem.

You try to install display drivers from Toshiba or Nvidia website?
Have you tried reinstalling the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery disk?

Sorry, but for the moment I can say more about it.

    Good bye

  • Tecra S3: Installation of Vista does not recognize the HARD drive

I try to install Vista Ultimate on my Tecra S3, but installation does not recognize the HARD drive.

I tried to find the driver for Vista for my computer, but not found RAID.
Tried it with XP drivers, but no longer works.

Do you have an idea where I can download Vista drivers for RAID?

    THX

    Hello

Your suggestion is good. The Tecra S3 supports the RAID, and the RAID driver is required to install the OS on the HARD drive.
On the European driver Toshiba page I found a RAID for XP driver.

I put t know if this driver will run under Vista, but I recommend to test.
The RAID XP 1.3.8.0 driver version can be downloaded from this site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Please note; You can store the RAID driver on an external USB and Vista should recognize it!

  • Downgrade of Tecra A8 - Bussiness from Vista to XP Profesional

    Hello

I have a laptop Tecra A8-104 which came with Vista Business. I want to downgrade to XP Professional. Can you help me with this? I don't know where to find a legal XP free kit for installation. Toshiba provides a Kit of XP for the downgrade? After all the Toshiba is the OEM supplier. I think that I don't have to buy a new license, I've already paid for the business of Vista came with the laptop.

By the way I asked for an XP preinstalled on this model but the Romanian Distributor, Scop Toshiba computers, said that this model does not come with Win XP lt all.

    Microsoft Vista downgrade to XP.

Could I get some advice from a Manager from Toshiba?

You might be able to get a Toshiba XP Downgrade drive, call Toshiba Europe and ask them.

Otherwise, you would need to purchase a retail XP version and installing the drivers of Toshiba and utility from the drivers Toshiba page.

  • Tecra A2 - BSOD when installing Windows

    Hello

I have a Tecra A2, I have not used for some time. I decided to start again and he gave me the blue screen of death just after loading Windows XP (before selecting your user profile). He continues to do so after I restarted several times, so I decided to reformat the computer.

I have reformat the computer and Windows XP begins to resettle. After installing I go through all issues of installation such as name, country, time zone, recording etc.. After that's done, I get the blue screen of death again. I restart the computer and it tries to load Windows XP. Then he told me that "the system is not fully installed. Please run Setup again. "Then he gives me the blue screen of death.

Rereformating laptop computer does exactly the same thing as the first time. So I tried to boot the computer with the recovery discs, and that did not help. He finished just gives me the blue screen of death.

    Can someone help me?

    Steve

    Hello!

I agree with Akuma. You should post the BSOD code because there are many of them. If you have the BSOD code, you can search in the Mircorosft Knowledge Base. Often you can find an article on this issue.

In my view, it could be a HARD drive or RAM problem, but together you can check with special tools. Use Memtest86 for RAM and the aptitude Test drive to the HARD drive. The tools that you can find with Google.

  • Tecra M9: BSOD after starting syspreped image

    Hello

a windows xp pro, I built the image on a tecra 9100 and managed to get almost all of our cell phones started syspreped image here is the Tecra M1, M2, M3, M5 and Portege R100, R200 and a R500.

However, I get a blue screen of death when I try to start the M9. I found a few posts that say when the image was created to UNINSTALL the host IDE controllers and then run the command sysprep.

It helped when we had problems with the portege R500 however the M9 turns out to be embarrassing.
    Someone at - it ideas?

    Thanks in advance
    Skip

    Hello

why Don t you are installing the system separately on the machine? Maybe it works. This thing with the IDE controller is true, but not the only story. There are things like the drivers and services that could possibly cause the BSOD.

My suggestion: clean install with no problems and the drivers are present. That you please, ha? ;)

    Welcome them

  • Tecra M5 and Windows Vista?

We will be able to run windows vista on new Tecra M5?

    Hello

Firstly, Windows vista is not official on the market, and the Toshiba doesn't support any beta version.
In this case you can try to install your beta version, but there is no drivers for this operating system at this time. I read that Microsoft plans to release the Vista operating system in 2007.
Well, you can try to install, but you will get all the drivers.
I will also try to install a Beta version on another laptop, but he needs about 8 GB of HARD drive.
