Tecra S5: Which driver Lan Wireless necessary

Hello

I have an S5 and receive information from a wireless Lan driver. Excellent service.

But what is used? I follow the link for downloads and offers me different drivers. So I try to establish that you choose and that's where my problem begins. On the page "Downloads wireless LAN How - to's" I get the instructions for Windows XP and 2000 - but not Vista.

Using common sense I go to control panel and open the Device Manager. When I click on network adapters, I see a wireless WiFi link. But not of adapters that match the numbers in the downloads.

What I am doing wrong and how can I make sure I have the correct update?

Oh, now I installed Toshiba Tempro, but it is only to tell me my disc fill level.

Thanks for the help.

AndyB

Generally, all the latest WLan drivers are on the Toshiba WLan portal.
http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

As you have already posted, you can check your WLan card details in the Manager of devices-> network adapters.
Should there have listed the LAN and the wireless network card.

Choose the WLan card and access the properties where you can find more information on the WLan card.

Good bye

    Hi @GOGO46,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, HP experts and other support staff. I came across your post and wanted to help.

Here are a few steps to identify the cause of the failure, or you get a permanent solution:

    • Perform a default bios.
    • Please run the diagnosis of Wi - Fi on your computer.
    • Steps to do: hold button power for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
    • Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, once every second about.
    • The main menu of hardware for the HP (UEFI) PC Diagnostics is displayed.
    • Select pane control and run the wireless diagnostics.
    • Please check all electromagnetic disturbances in the area. (Such as the microwave ovens, GBA and mobile phones)
    • Make sure that the proximity of the laptop with your router.
    • Please disable the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager and check.
    • Please check in SafeMode with network.
    • You can also create a new user account to check to further isolate the issue.
    • If the wireless card is insensitive or not detected in diagnostic tests, or if the problem persists after trying these steps then the Wi - Fi card is defective and must be replaced.

For more details please go through the support document for troubleshooting wireless network and Internet (Windows 10)

I would like to know if these measures worked for you.  If they did, it's great!  Give us some reinforcements by clicking on the solution and laurels, buttons that help and others see that we have the answers!

  • Satellite A660 - what to do with the new driver LAN wireless?

However, when I enter the download I do not understand what to do. Please can you help me?

    Hey Buddy,

TEMPRO informs you about new versions of driver and download them but the installation you need to do yourself. Similar Toshiba Service Station automatically do everything that the previous user has already written.

You have problems with the WIFI connection?
If this isn't the case, you can forget about this update. The driver updates are important if you have a problem.

    Hello

Yes, you are right, you said. I'm sorry for the lack.

I see that there are two versions of the driver that can be used for your card Mediatek and it's the most recent:

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.page/public/PSI/swdDetails/?sp4ts.Oid=5379212 & spf_p.tpst = swdMain & spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Didx%253D%257CswItem%253Dob_122653_1%257CswEnvOID%253D4132%257CitemLocale%253D%257CswLang%253D%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument & javax.portlet.begCacheTok = com.vignette.cachetoken & javax.portlet.endCacheTok = com.vignette.cachetoken

MediaTek and Ralink companies are now one after their merger.

Please support me by clicking on the star of congratulations, if you like my post and "Accept as Solution" if my advice were answered or helped your situation. What are the best ways in which you can thank me.

  • HP ENVY 17-j005tx Notebook PC: network card wireless Intel N 2230 sporadic but recurrent connection Wi Fi problems. Which driver to use?

I have an old HP Envy computer of 12 months with a 2230 Intel® Centrino® wireless-N wireless adapter.

In the last 6 months, the PC has suffered sporadic but recurrent problems of WiFi connection with the failure of the connection or drop-outs. The PC connects to the router, but fails to obtain or maintain an IP address. It has been with Intel driver version 15.12.0.6, pilot day February 25, 2014, installed by Windows Update, on June 16, 2014.

When I contacted HP support on January 9, 2015, I have been instructed to download the software from the HP Web site. This driver has an HP publication date of 1 November 2013 and installed the driver version 15.10.0.12 with a release date of June 25, 2013.

Updated Windows ran later that day there and I wanted to install the drivers updated Windows 8.1

    • Important update - update the Intel driver for Intel® Centrino® wireless-N 2230 published on 17/10/2013, 2.4 MB
    • Optional update - update the Intel driver for Intel® Centrino® wireless-N 2230 published 07/10/2014, 101.9 MB

If Windows Update has been set to automatic the provided HP driver would likely have immediately deleted by Microsoft update.

The Intel Web site offers the 15.14.0.1 or 15.14.0.2 driver version as the last driver for the adapter N-2230 but Intel "recommends obtain you and use the software provided by the manufacturer of your laptop. (even if it's more than a year to date)

It's very complicated to have the latest version on the Intel site, older versions installed by Microsoft Update and even older versions on the HP website.

If the user must install the OEM version, how the user to treat Microsoft Update overwriting the OEM version?

    Which driver should be used?

Why didn't the driver software HP Support was updated to resolve known issues with this wireless card driver?

HP would provide only a pilot who has been tested on the device that is installed on a particular type of material.

Intel would release the driver first, but then it would take some time for HP to the test pilot and release it to the public for use on their units. Some customizations can apply in order to get the driver to work on the material.

    Hello

Sorry, but the whole story is very confusing and I have to ask for things to understand this

    > why I inadvertently allowed Toshiba Bluetooth to download a driver.
I think you have mixed up something software Toshiba Bluetooth up to not download nor install any other drivers or updates automatically. So what program exactly tell you?

    > I get now constant warnings that it will conflict with my original CD!
You can post a screenshot of this warning? I've never heard anything like that.

    > I have not saved the driver.
What you mean with the registry. Either the driver is installed or not.

    > How to 'stop' it or uninstall it?
You can uninstall what you want. Just navigate to control panel > uninstall a program and select the program you want to uninstall.
