  • Hosted wireless network problem

I'm currently located in a place where the WiFi you buy will only link with one device and the IP and MAC addresses to confirm the device before you connect to the internet. I am to avoid paying for both (laptop and smartphone) devices through a wireless network but my laptop using Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter. However, when I start the hosted network, either through the "netsh wlan start hostednetwork" command in the command prompt or via the software free virtual router Manager, my computer freezes completely and does not respond to anything except a hard stop. When I started this, everything worked well and I could use the network hosted without any problems, but in the last few weeks, I had to shut my computer down several times a day because of this problem. Can someone help me understand why my computer keeps freezing? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

We have a host of ESXi 4 cluster running any vSphere 4.1.  Recently, I started to upgrade to update 2 and all the additional fixes.  After the upgrade of the vCentre server to the latest version (or maybe before I can't noticed) an of are hosts began to show the following error whenever I tried to connect to the console of any guest on this host.

Unable to connect to the MKS: the certificate of the remote host has these problems:

It lists any problems at all and no error display in the event log that it simply does not work.  I had a prod around the internet and found nothing.  I then rebuilt the host to exclude and the problem remains.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

If you can connect to the Console remotely using VMware Infrastructure (VI) Client connected directly to the host, take a look at vmware KB to connect to a remote virtual machine fails with the error: the certificate of the remote host has these problems

but more generally - remove host to vCenter inventory and then add the host to the back, take a look at opening in the console of the virtual machine after a new installation of ESXi or ESX fails with the error: the host certificate chain is not complete and could not connect to the MKS: the certificate of the remote host has these problems

I saw this post today and the information provided helped me to solve this problem.

The link essentially says to visit the Intel Web site and use the Intel driver update utility. The utility automatically searches your computer for devices that are eligible for an update. Hope this helps you because it has helped me. Also I have updated my wireless driver while I was using the Intel drivers update utility as a newer driver has recently been made available.
It worked for me; However, I ended up having to uninstall the old drivers Intel WiDi, then by restarting my computer before the setup.exe file would go and install on my computer (dell inspiron). I created a restore point in case it did not work, but everything seems to work smoothly!

I must also stress that just remove the driver Intel WiDi also got rid of the yellow exclamation, and unless you plan to try to connect wirelessly to your computer to your TV, I don't think it's something you need. Here is a link that explains what is the driver:

    Thank you

    Tom

Try as I might, I can't reproduce this problem. The important part here is that the gemfire node doesn't seem to know its own host name at startup while make other systems. (seems to have amnesia). It is easy enough reproducing the opposite

If you want, I would ask you to try more than two things.

Create an explicit entry in/etc/hosts on the node of gemfire for himself - that is to say:

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    10.50.38.205 ccnscupadsgf01 ccnscupadsgf01.carecorenational.com
    #127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
    : 1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

At times, GemFire uses JNDI calls to resolve names, so in order to avoid any possible being introduced by Tomcat, strangeness might simply start a server using gfsh:

    gfsh start server - locators = IDCPRDGFLOCATOR1 [20003] - name = locator1

For both tests, looking for a line, the newspaper, as:

Concluded that membership in the Group GF70 with ID 10.50.38.205 (7967): 29066

Except that it must contain the hostname of the server and not the IP address.

    And then

    _MonitoringRegion_10.50.38.205 (7967) region initialization29066

Should also appear with the host name,

    Thank you for your pateince.

  • Access to the second instance of the database on the same host (ORA-12514) problem

    Hello

I had a database of what ICMDB installed on my machine. After that, I created a second instance of database (Service name: BI_APPS) using DBCA on the same machine. With the help of NETCA I also created a new OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListenerBI_APPS_LISTENER listener on port 1522 on my machine. Then I configured this listener to listen to the connections to the service BI_APPS by adding the following to my tnsnames.ora:

    BI_APPS_LISTENER =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.2.109)(PORT = 1522))

Then I changed the port in my driveway tns to BI_APPS at 1522 as follows:

    BI_APPS =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = 192.168.2.109)(PORT = 1522))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = BI_APPS)

    )

    )

I then restarted the following services:

    OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener

    OracleServiceBIAPPS

    OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListenerBI_APPS_LISTENER

After that, when I try to access my first ICMDB DB through Toad, the connection is successful. However, when I try to access the service BI_APPS I get the following error:

In the configuration interface tcp/ip v4 network, the IP address is 192.168.38.1, but if I run ipconfig, IP assigned to vmnet 1 is 169.254.x.x (invalid IP)

After the upgrade to vmware server

Just an info, Windows 7 is not a host for VMware Server operating system.

I am not able to use the guest only network interface. In the configuration interface tcp/ip v4 network, the IP address is 192.168.38.1, but if I run ipconfig, IP assigned to vmnet 1 is 169.254.x.x (invalid IP)

Unfortunately starting with VMware Player 3, without a valid reason, I've never seen explained, VMware has stopped installing the virtual network Editor.  What I would try to solve the problem is to install manually and then use the restore default in the virtual network Editor to try to fix any problem with network cards virtual VMware.

    ==========

To install the missing virtual network Editor, the command prompt:

    VMware-player-*.exe -e c:\vmptmp

Then in the c:\vmptmp folder find the file c:\vmptmp\network.cab and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually 'C:\Program VMware Player' or ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player.  You can create a shortcut and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player, if you want to access it more easily.  Note: there are some for all the files to be extracted to then access the network.cab file.

  • Dirty Shutdown (impure) of Host - Op system problems

I have the free Esxi running here in my lab at home. It supports 3 op systems: XP Pro, Windows Server 2008, and Small Business Server 2008.

The other night, I had a power failure and the computer stopped without op systems shut down properly. When I brought the computer backup I met problems with all systems 3 op.

XP - complained not enough RAM - solved by changing the settings of the virtual XP and add more RAM to the video

Server 2008 - the "lost" VMWare Tools - even though they came under "Add/Remove Programs", had to uninstall and reinstall the VMWare tools

SBS 2008 - had to manually restart a service on this issue.

Has anyone else had an output of the host machine down unexpectedly and then conclude that the op systems are funky or have "uninstalled" apps etc etc?

VMWare is not automatically recover the old clichés or do something that takes the installation of back in time, he doesn't? He 'felt' like I went back in time, kinda sorta.

I would appreciate any ideas on that.

    Thank you.

Instead of a single operating system reading and writing on the disc, you have 3. It is very easy to have problems after a sudden power off. Operating systems use their own write cache internal to delay writing to disk. Who will be lost and can probably cause file corruption. If you have a RAID controller that the cache entry, but doesn't have a battery module supported that data will be lost. If you want to protect you get a UPS and virtual machines shut down on a power failure.

If you configure your discs in kiosk mode (nonpersistant independent) 'go back' would be the only way as ESXi.

I don't want to redo a straight change in case there are problems with the virtual machines on the new host, so I had to migrate virtual machines one or two at a time. (which is also a pain as the 2 x host ESX 3.5 of assessment will not add to the virtual Center due to licensing)

Other that reinstall ESX 3.5 to get another 60 days (and having to reconfigure ISCSI etc) is there a better way to do it?

Reinstall everything 3.5 host for a new evaluation period.

  • Host esx license problem substituting

    Hi all

I have a problem when I try to replace it by an esx host.

We have a total of 20 under license issued, 19 in use (9 esx host have 2 cpu, 1 esx host has 1 cpu).

To add a new host esx (I'll call esx11), I had to unplug and remove a host of VIC (I'll call esx01).

The result is that esx11 is "unlicensed" and if I make a 'survey of status' using license server tools (FYI License Server is installed on Virtual Center), it always reports as licensed hospitality that I disconnected (esx01).

    Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance.

just because you disconnect will not remove the license.  You must go to the ESX host, under the configuration tab and the features under license.  Change your license source.
