  • Satellite P105-S6024 and terrible sound quality

The sound quality on this laptop was very bad for some time.

I tried all of the updates and drivers more recent download from Toshiba Web site without success, including latest conexant driver, which seems to be 2007. . . . I use XP/SP3. For a system that is supposed to have good sound quality, with harmon kardon speakers, it's frustrating because it is inaudible. The cracks of sounds, pop, is intermittent, is static and just is generally quite poor.

There is not a problem with the volume, just the terrible sound quality any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hello

I see you are using the Windows XP which was not preinstalled by Toshiba.
I think that this laptop came with the Windows Vista operating system.

Have you noticed the same sound quality by using the Windows Vista operating system?
I think you should check this.

If the noise would do better to use the Vista then it might be a problem of sound driver.
I found another audio driver Conexant for Win XP. I use this one:

  • How to read a file only?

Hello world... I am a new Fuze 2 GB owner and I have a problem that I couldn't solve by reading the user manual or searching for this forum.  I use the "rocket" (mainly) to listen to stories and readings in MP3 format.  I placed about a dozen files on my rocket through Windows Explorer drag / move directly into the 'Audiobooks' folder of the rocket.

My problem: when a story ends, the following starts immediately.  I don't want the next file to play; I want quiet (given that I listen to it while asleep).

Is it possible to force the "rocket" to play a file only and then be silent while it drift off in his own 'Sleep' mode (that took me 30 minutes)?

Furthermore, I have disabled "Ch. Mode".  (I've even left "Shuffle" and "Repeat" in 'Music' just in case it might have something to do with it.)

    Thank you very much!

Because no one taken here have to answer with another "sorry, don't know," I kept trying to figure this out myself.  I discovered a workaround solution and write here for the benefit of any third party who may want to read a file only.  That's what I did:

I transferred my files (stories and readings in MP3 format, which I originally put in the audiobooks folder) in music-> songs.  Note that this DIY does not work via the audio books folder!

Then, I selected a file to be read.  When he started, I activated the button "Push and Hold".

This operation has copied the individual file to Playlist-> list go.

When I wanted to play this file (and this single file) all in falling asleep, I sailed to music-songs-> list-> Playlist > go.  I chose this file and it played.  At the end of the file, there was blessed silence.

Don't forget to put your energy saving or sleep to shut down the "rocket" after x number of minutes.

  • HDMI cable hooked up to the computer laptop and TV no sound coming from the TV only to laptop

    [Transferred from Internet Explorer]

    Hello

I suggest to check the audio device by default and check if it helps.

Set the audio output device by default using steps below:

    a. click the Start button and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type sound, and then click sound.
    b. click playback devices.
    c. Select the default device (internal speakers or speakers of HDMI output) and set it as default to make the sound come from specific device.

  • Satellite A300-1ME does not read that DVD only reads CD - R

    HY,

    My Satellite A300 - 1st Don t read CD - R and CD - RW worse or unburned, it only read´s DVD´s.
Please can you give me a helping hand for this problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, you should check if are some registry issues.
Go to the register a remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Then restart the device and check if you could read the CD.

I had a lot of problems with different discs (CDs and DVDs) as well
I could solve the problem. the problem is that my CD/DVD drive is not compatible with some CD and DVD from different manufacturers

Finally, I bought some TDK CD - R and my CD/DVD player has been able to manage these disks
I think you should check the different discs from different manufacturers too!

Last but not least check if there is an update of the firmware of CD/DVD for you, CD/DVD player.
To do this, you should visit checking page European driver Toshiba details more details.
You will find the info if the firmware has been published for you CD/DVD drive.

    Welcome them

  • Terrible sound quality on my C50-AOG1 Satellite

My speakers sound really hail and the worst I've heard since I had a radio transistor in 1970. I went into the drivers are download but wasn't able to find anything to improve. 8.1 using does not help because I don't know where you find everything.

    Any ideas?
Anyone find a gap and resolved or just has a good idea please?

    Hello

Similar thread, you can read here.
Problem is that a lot of laptops only have small stereo speakers and sound quality is unfortunately not very good.

  • How to fix a sound problem - reading devices no. for the Device Manager on WinXP SP3?

    (1) I can't to Device Manager by following the guide for help on my system.  The steps do not match what is actually showing me my Windows and I can not here the only way I can get to it is to use a link on the help page directly.  Even when I do that, the steps in the help guide still do not match what I see on MY screen.  Is this perhaps an update of this Guide to match my system?

    (2) I need Device Manager to find out what happened on my Audio device.  I have no sound from my speakers.  It happened all of a sudden when my wife was using the computer.  I don't know what she can do both.

Start/Settings/Control Panel / sounds and Audio Devices Properties shows "No. Audio Device", hence "Volume of the device" is gray.  Audio tab displays 'No peripheral to read '.

The fastest way to bring up the Device Manager is:
    Start-> Run-> "devmgmt.msc".
If it detects the sound equipment, but there is a problem with a driver, you will probably see a yellow "!" appears by your audio device.

If he was working and stopped, you can try to perform a "System Restore" to a point where it worked:

  • SD card reader not working only not with El Cap.

The iMac does not recognize the SD card when inserted. Nothing in the Finder. If I leave the card in the slot and restart the iMac, it is recognized. This all started after the upgrade to El Capitan. Anyone?

    Hello leiffromtonsberg,

Please ask for help in the communities of Support from Apple. Looks like you have problems reading from an SD card with your iMac. Here are the things I would check.

The first thing that you want to make sure that the data on your Mac is safe. You will need to use Time Machine to backup to an external hard drive. The recommendation is to use an external hard drive twice the size of your hard drive internal. Use this article to help make a backup: use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.

Then, you need to determine what you want to open or to display when you enter the SD card in. If you are looking for pictures to open when you insert the SD card, when you enter the SD card, open the Photos. On the import tab, there is a checkbox "Open pictures for this device". Make sure it is checked. If it is checked, uncheck it and re-check. It is necessary sometimes to get these settings reset.

If you are looking for only to have a pop up on the desktop image, please go to the Finder, then click the word Finder in the next to the Apple menu bar. Click on Preferences. Make sure that you check the tab general, and that the box for the external drives. If it is checked, uncheck it and re-check. Close the Finder preferences.

If you are still not able to find the SD card on the desktop or in the Photos, you will want to check if it shows up in disk utility. You can check by opening Finder > Applications > utilities > disk utility. Make sure the SD card is showing correctly in disk utility without having to restart the Mac.

If you still have the problem, with the insertion of the card and read by the Mac, look for more updates. There may be a new update driver or firmware required to get this working correctly with the new operating system. Use the App Store, updates, or contact the manufacturer of the SD card to see if they can provide updated information.

Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.

  • Read from worksheet only read 1st column

    Hi all

I use "Worksheet reading" to read a line from a file at a time (I'll use the data to each line for some calculations on a basis per line).  However, the program is only showing me the value of the cell in the first column of each row.  I tried to save my data as a *.csv file and a *.txt file, but it does the same thing for two values.  Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

    Thank you

Attach your file! You specify a tab as a delimiter. Is that what you actually? What is data backup? Simply change a file extension does nothing to change the format of the data. Look at the file with a simple tool such as Notepad.

  • Microphone on the Realtek sound card reading

I have a Toshiba laptop with Realtek sound card. The operating system is Windows XP Professional SP3.

I tried to record videos from Fraps while commenting via the microphone of the laptop; as far as I know, the best way to do is allow a reading microphone on the Volume Control Panel and recording of stereo mix. However, reading of the Volume control section is missing the Microphone input. Even when I go in the Options Panel to select the playback device, all I get is Master Volume, wave, SW Synth, CD player, SPDIF and PC beep. The Realtek HD Audio Control Panel doesn't have relevant option either.

The microphone does not work correctly. My desktop computer using the same version of Windows has the corresponding section of the Volume control and it works correctly (I've used before) so it must be a problem specific to the sound card. I heard that some card manufacturers have this feature disabled in the registry due to problems of Larsen; If this is the case, is what registry key? Your comments is not a problem because I use a headset.

In a Word, what I aim for, that's what I speak into the microphone played through the speakers, and therefore be able to record in real time via stereo mix. I managed to get the correct effect using Overdub of Audacity (feedback in real time of entry in the forums), but if I set Audacity and Fraps to record from different sources (mic for Audacity, stereo mix for Fraps), Fraps puts Audacity input muted for the duration of its own record.

Unfortunately, some manufacturers of audio devices turn off or do not understand "stereo mix" or "what you hear" in their software drivers.

You really need a Pro Audio device with hardware mixing/routing facilities.
Or get a cheap Sound Blaster - better quality and they have the ' did you mean' feature.
    See you soon

  • Cannot change the reading file attributes only in Windows XP

When I view the folder properties, they all show the 'read only' as selected.  The selection is a greyed out tick.  When I uncheck this, change seems to be accepted but is not change.  View the properties immediately after that do change the same greyed tick is still there.  All other problems with it seem when a transfer of the user it XP files to a new Vista system.  This isn't the case here, because the files are all over my existing XP system.  How can I continuous change the folder attributes to have the 'read only' deselected.

  • Terrible sound quality of MP3s on new 4 GB Fuze

Just bought a new 4Gb player fuse.

FM radio sounds good but each MP3 sounds terrible. :-(  They sound very hail & his singing as they are under water.

-J' loaded the latest firmware on it.

-J' tried a different variety of MP3 files with speed/quality levels.  Many of them sounded fine on an older iRiver.

-J' played with the different equalizer settings.

Any ideas?  If there is nothing easy, go back to the store soon.

Unplug your headphones, and plug them push HARD and back in! The "rocket" has a very tight helmet, and it could play a role. My guess is that the FM is fine because the headphones are on the air.

  • No voice sound when playing a DVD, only background music. ???????

I have windows vista and when I try to watch a DVD, I can hear the music that is played when a person speaks, nothing is heard. Everyone you have suggestions for this problem?

    Hi MR. Tussa,

-The problem occurs with every DVD or a specific DVD?

You will have to perhaps download and install plug-ins for Windows Media Player (WMP) to read the content of the DVD depending on the edition of Windows 7 installed on your computer.
