Test Mode Windows 7?
OK, I see this watermark on my desk that says Test Mode Windows 7 Build 7601... I tried to get help for this Microsoft response team, or what ever and, apparently, the guys do not understand what I was talking about...My windows is genuine, I ran the tool and he says real, I can't activate again cause the computer does not give me an option for. The windows is already activated. I tried to open cmd and do a command that is supposed to turn off test mode or something... and even though he says he managed the brand of water is always on my screen.
Anyone know anything about this?
Hmm not what I expected. you do not have any windows release candidates installed
You can try this option to remove the watermark.HrOnline: 0x80072EE7I saw this in your diagnosis, but I don't think it's related to the watermark.I found this relative to this error by Christmas D Paton.HrOnline: 0x80072EE7: this error code means "Address cannot be resolved" this refers to the address of the activation servers or servers of Validation. In plain talk, it means that your computer can not find the place, he has to go to activate or Validate. Usually, this is caused by a misconfigured firewall or a Proxy.Which depletes what I know on the subject. -
watermark "Test Mode Windows 7 Build 7601" on the right.
After the automatic update, it appeared a watermark "Test Mode Windows 7 Build 7601" on the right
What this indicates
Does this mean that my windows is not genuine
The test Mode watermark is shown when when a startup option is set on allow drivers not signed by Microsoft to be used.
Confirm what you see is as described here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ntdebugging/archive/2011/08/05/for-testing-purposes-only-and-other-desktop-watermarks.aspx
How to disable the test signature is explained here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff553484%28v=VS.85%29.aspx

Just upgraded Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium with the version updated official (box set). Update went well, but I now have a "Test Mode Windows 7 Build 7600" watermark in the lower right. I entered the activation during the installation, and there is no section in the control panel to activate manually, so I guess the activation went well. How can I get rid of this watermark?
You can deactivate the Test Mode by typing bcdedit/set testsigning in the command prompt.
If the command above does not work, try:
Open again (run as administrator) command prompt and type the following command:
bcdedit.exe - set loadoptions ENABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit.exe - set off the TESTSIGNINGSee you soon! Life sucks! Get used to it.

Windows 7 Build 7601, now says not genuine after crash
Bought/installed Win7 Pro on my (aging) machine time Jan/Feb & activated product.
After a week away recently, my PC did not boot - just crashed. Last known good configuration did work, catering to the highest point due to a registry restore problem. Anyway, forced the cancellation by renaming config & software in the \system32 folder.
Then machine again, I'm immediately went to Windows update to ensure that it was up-to-date & then had "Windows 7 Build 7601, this copy is not genuine." Had been authorized for about the last 7 months.
Have tried to change the key product & scoring even once again. As well as the uninstall & reinstall it again once, but no change.
I already download Win10 install files when the option popped up; Maybe I should have completed the installation. Although it may have failed.
Anyway, here, is out of the tool of diagnosis of MGA. I hope someone can advise:
Thanks in advance.

GSCI 111108 GMCHSCII spoke with MS support. The representative has essentially kept repeating that the product key was not for home/use; later mentioned he has a license of the company & had been used several times.
However, he had no answer to come as to how is it this had been works well for 8 months & problems have emerged since my start/disk/registry problems.
It takes time for this abuse be detected by Microsoft because it is a Multiple Activation key (a lot of PC have or will have the same problem) that very probably activated too many times (each key has an activation limit)
I also tried to find more information as to where the key was first used / details of other activations (in the case where was my repeated recent attempts during the activation/validation was just suspended); but only repeated representative key is blocked.
They may not know / have a record of when it has been used first.
Y at - it other advice? My Win7 installation has been very recently posted just grab the update Win10 install files; However, I'm guessing that it's probably not worth trying to go down that path right now?
Since you have not a valid Windows 7 key from the upgrade of Windows 10 can install but most probably (but not immediately) detects the invalid key and also go "(Non authentique)."
Of course, if it turns out that I need to splash £100 on a 'get genuine' license then I will - but was hoping to get data confirming the situation [seems that my previous purchase by Amazon will not get any farther].
If this MAK key was purchased by a third party seller to Amazon for their web site at Amazon report. At the very least, they should block / prevent the seller by using their (Amazon) web site.
Or else I'll watch Win8.1 (& get top of what to Win10 update as soon as possible) or Win10 at home; Although I had barely begun to use Win7 XP!
Since you said that you have an aging PC I would stick with Windows 7 (support ends January 14, 2020).
One thing, you can try if you are still interested Windows 10 (after the backup of your important data files is to install Windows 10 via the GWN icon on the taskbar or the media download: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 )
This will tell you at least if Windows 10 fully supports (graphics, Audio, keyboard and mouse, access Internet, etc.) your PC.

Yesterday a notice appeared on the lower right of my saying (black screen) desktop "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine." The computer is a Dell XPS1702x I bought the 29/08/2011 and never had a problem before. I have two drives to Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2010 Professional Plus, that are installed on the system. I have read other threads and will display the results of the diagnostic MGA. The computer seems to operate normally, other than the appearance of the desktop. Thank you.

Activation and Validation issues more look the same on the surface, but can have many different causes and bugs. This is why we ask a diagnostic report and it is also why we are asking that you create your own thread for your question (in other words, do not post your question in another thread).
It is simply too complicated to try to resolve the multiple problems in the same thread.

"Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine" and the slow boot after malware removal
HP Pavilion dm4 my daughter recently started to take about 10-15 minutes to start, tell me that he had become infected by something questionable. It is currently running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, with AVG free anti-virus.
When we noticed the problem first, AVG has been disabled (probably by malware), and I could not turn it back on. He would not run a scan at all. I have scanned it with Norton Power Eraser and their free bootable scanner, nor identified any problems. I ran Malwarebytes in safe mode, and it found several files associated with Yontoo, which he deleted. I ran ccleaner, including the registry cleaner. At this time, AVG was returned to service, so I ran a full scan with it. AVG found several files associated with OpenCandy, which he deleted. A scan later Malwarebytes came clean.
For now, the system seems to work fine, EXCEPT: there are still a huge amount of time to start - several minutes between each step. And now, the desktop appear intermittently a message which reads: "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine".
I found a lot of discussion online about this error message, but it seems that each of them (which I reviewed) has a different twist to what I feel.
Any suggestions for next steps? Thanks in advance.
Marty

Windows 7 Build 7601 not genuine after replacing the motherboard?
I recently replaced a motherboard failed in our computer and now I get a "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of windows is not genuine" message. Help, please. Thank you. Ed
You have used the product key OEM SLP from the factory (which won't work) and not the key of the COA is located on the sticker on the PC.
You must change the key of 25 characters than on the sticker (side cover of a desktop computer, lower compartment or inside a laptop).
Try the following:
Open a prompt (run as administrator) and enter:
slmgr - ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX, then press 'Enter' (where XXXX is your key)
then enter: slmgr - ato and press ENTER.
Wait a few seconds, then exit command prompt. Now to see if your real, reboot if necessary and, even if it's not true they activate by phone.
1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4
(2) press the ENTER"" key.
(3) to select your "country" you are in the drop-down list.
(4) choose the option "activate phone".
(5) stay on the phone * do not select/press any option * and wait for a person to help you.
(6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.
(7) the person must give you a confirmation ID, copy it down on paper,
(8) check that the ID is correct in reading the support person.
(9) to enter the ID number, then click 'Next' to complete the activation process.Activation and registration of a Microsoft product

You seem to have a fairly large number of problems with applications to crash, Windows crashing, unable to start services and other problems.
You seem to have performed following security real time software...
Norton 360
Windows Defender
SpyBot
There seems to be a number of errors that are related to corrupted data - caused either by disc problems, RAM or other hardware issues.
I think I would start by checking the RAM...
Follow the instructions here...
http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/105647-RAM-test-Memtest86.html
and post back with your results.
So who gets a certificate of good health, check your hard drive...
Click Start > all programs > Accessories
Right-click on the entry of the command line
Select run as administrator and accept the UAC - elevated command prompt window prompt should appear.
At the command prompt, type
CHKDSK C: /R
and press the Enter key.
We'll tell you that the drive is locked and the CHKDSK run at next startup - press Y and restart.
The CHKDSK command will take a few hours depending on the size of the disk, so be patient!
Once executed, the command CHKDSK Windows should start normally (possibly after a second auto).
Post a new application event log after you restart.

Hello
Looks like you used the system after receiving no real message for 30 days. Can you connect in safe mode (press F8 at startup)? This might help: http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/252903-black-screen-windows-not-genuine.html

Hello
I have a laptop Packard Bell Easynote I bought a few years back from a major retailer of the high street.
I the have not used for a few months.
Today I turned on it & it is automatically downloaded & installed a load of updates of Windows 7.
Now I have a regular black desktop and a note at the bottom right, "windows 7 build 7601 this copy of windows is not genuine".
I am running windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, service pack 1.
How can I tell the laptop that my copy of windows is genuine. ??
Please answer each of the following [admittedly tedious] diagnostic questions in a list numbered corresponding type in your very next answer, preferably without quote my post:
1. when (date approximately) did you buy the computer?
1B. not a Win7 64 bit are preinstalled on the computer when you bought it, did you do a clean install of Win7, or did upgrade you the computer to Win7?
2. What is the full name of your application or the installed antivirus security suite and when (date about) is your subscription current expires? What (other than Defender) anti-spyware applications are installed? What third-party firewall (if applicable)?
3 a Norton or McAfee application ALREADY installed on the computer as you bought?
4. do you have a free trial Norton or a test of free McAfee [CHOOSE ONE ANSWER] come preinstalled on the computer When you bought it? (No matter if you have never used or activated).
5. KB2925418 is, KB2929961 and/or KB2930275 listed in installed updates(not update history)? [1]
5b. How about KB2909921, KB2916036, KB2912390 or maybe KB2909210?
6 assuming that Java is installed => is 51 update Java Version 7 (or higher) installed? TEST HERE in USING INTERNET EXPLORER ONLY! -online http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
7 is Adobe Flash Player v12.0.0.77 (or higher) installed? TEST HERE in USING INTERNET EXPLORER ONLY! -online http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
8A. is Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), IE9 or IE10, IE11 installed?
8 b. is Firefox, Chrome or any other alternative browser installed?
9. are you familiar with "Registry cleaners" (e.g., Registry Mechanic;) System Mechanic; RegCure; RegClean Pro. Advanced SystemCare. Registry Booster; McAfee QuickClean. AVG PC TuneUp. Norton Registry Cleaner; PCTools optimizer; SpeedUpMyPC; PC Doctor; TuneUp Utilities; WinMaximizer; WinSweeper; Comodo System Cleaner. Advanced System Optimizer. CCleaner Registry Cleaner)?

Windows 7 Build 7601 not authentic on brand new computer
Purchased my Lenovo to Fry mid October 2012. Have already experienced several BSOD right after that MS updates were installed every time. A few days ago, I met several BSOD right after that the Windows updates were installed. On the last BSOD, I get the message Windows 7 Build 7601 not authentic. Nothing I tried as suggested on screen worked, amounts to the same thing. I am a student full time online. Fall semester ends on Sunday, December 16, and I'm way now behind on all my homework back and my final exams in all categories. It does not help and I have not the time to take my computer to Fry for them to take a look. All my data is stored here. In addition, I tried to restore to another time, when you restart the message was still there then I turned off and when rekindled later it had disappeared, but returned for the next day. I tried to restore againn but this time it won't go away. I don't know where my product key is, as it is not on the computer itself. It may be on a manual but I have since moved and had the movers help me and they put things in the back of my storage unit or in boxes not recognized. So until I go through everything in my storage unit I'm screwed. Please help as soon as possible because it's really me screwing.
Thank you
Denise
You install the driver from Windows Update updates?
If so, I would avoid their installation in the future and instead to download any available hardware updates directly from the manufacturers Web site.
I also suggest that when you get a new computer and you start for the first time, you must create a system restore point.
As each new Windows 7 PC should come with a COA sticker that is attached to it, this is one evidence of a genuine license installed on the machine. If you bought it on shelf, its possible someone could have pulled off the sticker.
Always check for a real sticker or buy any of the machine.
It seems that you have bad luck with Fry, FRY well their business and the purchase of another where, there is nothing particularly special to their topic. Try to buy directly from the manufacturer online or try another store, if you live close to a Microsoft Store, you can go.
Sorry for all the problems that you are experiencing, we are just volunteers here who are trying to help other users of Windows.

After a recent update of Windows (classes 1-2 weeks), I now get a watermark on my desk that says "Windows 7 Build 7601 this copy of Windows is not genuine". My Office products 2010 (Word, Excel) are not responding after a few minutes of use. I have an acer PC, Windows 7 has been installed at the factory. A lot of discussions about this on the interweb, what should I do?
Thanks for the quick responses.
I tried to run SLUI.exe 4 several times but nothing happens when I click on the file in the search results.I tried to run MGADIAG.exe but it also hangs whenever I click to start the process.I have however F8 during the restart and SELECT LAST GOOD KNOWN CONFIGURATION. He has since removed the watermark.Microsoft Office applications still suspended - even the after typing simple text.Whereas a system restore, but having problems creating a recovery disk that I don't have a CD that came with the PC. I have only a Windows 7 repair disc when the PC has been used first, I created.I was able to back up all my files, so that's a plus. Can use the OK browser.
