  • Format rich text editors or tools do not work in Firefox

    I use Win 7 64 bit and Firefox 16. Problem is that I and other users of the Forum, that we belong to, can not use the editor text rich Format or tools to edit text...
    For example, when you type your text and you want to change the format of "BOLD" etc. the editor gives a code like this:

    [undefined = undefined] Found thread [/ undefined] where it should be [b] Thread Found [/ b]
    The undefined Word opens with all the formatting tools.

    Using another browser like Chrome or IE the formatting or rich text editor works very well. Like I said that's not me who has this problem, we are not a lot of people on the forum who is having the same problem.

    Counsel for solving this problem will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

  • My javascript does not work on Firefox

    I wrote a very small javascript. It works perfectly on IE, but it does not work on Firefox. Each javascript, I am writing to you, face the same problem. JavaScript is not disabled in my firefox browser, and I use the latest version (3.6.9). It's one of my scripts.

    < content meta = text/html"; charset = utf-8 "http-equiv ="Content-Type">"
    < title > Untitled Document < /title >
    < script language = "javascript" >

    function namechecker()
    {
    var firstNameLength = txtFirstName.value.length;

    even if (firstNameLength == 0)
    {
    firstNameLength = prompt ("enter your first name","" ");
    txtFirstName.value = firstNameLength;
    }
    }

    < /script >

    Enter your first name:
    < name of entry = "txtFirstName" type = "text" >

    Enter your last name:
    < input name = "txtlastName" onfocus = "namechecker ()" type = "text" > "

    This problem persists for me after updating to 3.6.10. Many web sites, even Google, unusable due to JavaScript errors. The problem could be solved by disabling the cache. I also noticed that some images for some pages do not load until the cache has been cleared, so I suspect that this is not a JavaScript problem but a bug in the way Firefox handles caching. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this problem systematically.

    This problem occurs on 2 separate machines that are both running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Some installed extensions: Firebug (disabled), Xmarks.

    A page that I am wrong with this time is http://cgsmd.isi.edu/dbsnpq. Errors are "$ is not defined", "jQuery is not defined" and some images do not appear, while some arise. When I go to about: cache? device = disk I can located at the URL of the JavaScript file. When I followed links to this cache entry, and I can see that the corresponding cache file does not exist. This is the file:

    C:\Users\Scott\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\jlz39414.default\Cache\83E84132d01

    I did the same thing for some images. Some I can find in everything: put in cache and view them, other are listed, but the data is not - these are those who were not initially. In all: cache he requests these minutes just cached were there probably isn't another 'cleaning' software removes these files.

    Conclusion: there are bugs in the system cache of Firefox that make many common web sites, such as Google, unusable.

  • Videos do not work in Firefox

    Hey everybody,

    This seems to be a common problem, but the videos do not work on Firefox and not just for YouTube. I updated Adobe Shockwave and Flash, re-installed Firefox, deleted/created a Firefox profile, started Firefox in Mode safe, off HTML5, checked if any of my plug-ins are disabled, and no one who helped.

    When I get on YouTube and click on a video, the video itself does not even load. On other sites, in the area where the video should play, it says "no video format supported and content MIME lie.» That kind of confuses me because I updated the Flash from Adobe.

    Thoughts? Whatever that either would be appreciated at this point.

    -Brynn

    "No video format supported and content MIME don't lie" appears when HTML5 Media Player is used and not the Flash drive and there is no media file stated that Firefox can use.

    You can try the media.directshow.enabled pref to toggle on the topic: config page.

    You can open the topic: config page via the bar of address and you can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue

  • email does not work in firefox

    I have three emails from domain, in which one of them stopped working with firefox. All three works with internet explorer or google chrome. There is one who does not work with firefox.

    Here is what I thought happened. For Firefox. When you go to tools/options/content. Exceptions by side of block popup windows. • Telstra Australia tell me that I have to use Chrome, as their facilities will not work with Firefox. Why?

    After spending literally hours trying to pay an account on Telstra Australia (that I just joined them, so it's the first installment), I finally gave up and contacted directly. I was told that Telstra services will not work with Firefox and that their preferred system is Google Chrome but Internet Explorer will not work.
    I have used Firefox for a long time and I'm happy with the program. Specifically, I have everything set up to work with Firefox and do not want to change. At the same time, I want to have the convenience of paying bills online.
    Can I load up, Google say, just one thing, or the program will then try to "catch" other functions as well?

    Yes, you can install Chrome and use it for a website. "Recovery" Chrome as other functions on your PC, just don't let it not be defined as "browser default" If you are prompted during the installation procedure. In addition, I doubt if you'll have a problem.

    Key on the keyboard does not work in firefox box when you type in the web site, but it works everywhere else?

    Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

    A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

    (If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 4.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

    Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

    If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

  • Does not work in firefox and Chrome

    Hello

    It's works fine under IE but does not work in firefox and Chrome browsers

    What's not in this code?

    var pageURL:String      = ExternalInterface.call("window.location.href.toString");

    if(pageURL == null)
    {
              pageMsg2.text = "Seems like javascript is disabled";
    }
    else
    {
              pageMsg2.text = "Enabled";
    }

    calling window.location.href.toString directly from js (i.e. no flash) in the work of chrome or firefox?

    have you tried to create a wrapper function for window.location.href.toString ?

    for example in js

    Function myFunction()

    {

    Return window.location.href.toString;

    }

    Flash

    var pageURL:String      = ExternalInterface.call("myFunction");

    if(pageURL == null)
    {
              pageMsg2.text = "Seems like javascript is disabled";
    }
    else
    {
              pageMsg2.text = "Enabled";
    }

  • CSH - does not work in Firefox

    When I click on the link help in one of our applications in Firefox, help does not. Passage of the mouse, the status bar displays "javascript:;" (due to our being in an include file header, so we ask help using onClick:displayHelp() and then, by running the CSH help call the string in a JavaScript function called displayHelp). When I click, I get a JavaScript error or whatever that it either--nothing happens at all.

    The HCS launches perfectly in IE6 and 7, which is fine because we use internal IE, and that is where this system is used. However, we get aid started for another application under development, which will be used in various locations around the world. This system must use the same JavaScript methods as the first system, and even when it does not work in Firefox. We can have users using Firefox, and we do not want to tell them that Firefox does not support the aid system. I'm puzzled. No help for those in need...? According to the expert community in other positions, conflicts between CSH and Firefox are not common, or at least are not frequently reported.

    Details: Out of FlashHelp, Firefox 1.5.0.9, JavaScript must be enabled, all the boxes ticked in JavaScript advanced options. Same behavior if the blocker is enabled or disabled. In a third app, FlashHelp starts fine in Firefox, but this system uses not CSH.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Cindy,.

    I found a solution that works for me using the 'skin' webhelp, and according to me, should work with Flashhelp too: in the whtopic.js file, put in comment the last line:

    document. Location.Reload ();
    becomes:

    document. Location.Reload ();

    Tested in Firefox 2.0 and IE 7. Seems to work. More QA for me!

    The last review of the user of this extension mentions that he does not work in Firefox 35. Other than to wait that the developer of this extension realizes its extension is broken and fix it on what you can do, is looking for a replacement / extension of replacement with this feature. Unfortunately, the developer did not provide a contact email link to encounters with bugs or comments and did not provide a "home page" with the details either.

    Can scroll you with the keyboard?

    On Mac, scroll bars may be hidden and are showing them when you scroll down the page, so you can see the current scroll position.
    The idea is that a Tablet is used that does not need to be visible and therefore more screen real estate for the navigation area, scroll bars.
    You can make scroll bars always appear:

    • System Preferences > General > display the scroll bar > choose "always."

    Note that on Mac you can turn on or off the mode full screen with command + SHIFT + F.
