  I use an Apex page to download text files. Can I retrieve the contents of the wwv_flow_files.blob_content files and convert them into varchar2 with utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2, but the characters like o, to, u become garbage.
  
  What could be the problem? Characters lost when files are stored in wwv_flow_files or when I do the conversion?
  
  Some other info:
  * I don't see wwv_flow_files. DAD_CHARSET has the value 'ascii', wwv_flow_files. FILE_CHARSET is null.
  * Try utl_raw.cast_to_varchar2 (utl_raw.cast_to_raw ('aoeu')) returns "aoeu" correctly;
  * NLS_CHARACTERSET setting is AL32UTF8 (not only English ASCII)

  As well known when a dialogue button string is 'OK' or 'Cancel' the default action occurs (1 is returned for OK and 2 to cancel)

  Is this true for non English versions of Indesign?

  I assume we will say on the German version of InDesign on the built-in dialog boxes, see the terms OK and Abbrechen but cancel a job? And out of curiosity "Abbrechen" does work?

• Custom skins in Non-English projects

  I have a custom skin that when used in non-English projects, it omits characters in the buttons for contents and Index. I have not create the skin so I did not Flash. Any suggestions on how to fix the buttons to display the missing characters?

  Rick has referred to as the LNG file, that exist in the source files and output files. Do copy and paste with the source versions. (Release version is replaced from the source version each time.)

  If the suggestion of Rick does not work, the only other thing I can think of would be to check that the .fla themselves Flash files. The person who changed files may have done something for the fields of dynamic text for the button labels. If you can get a copy of Flash, you could check two things on the label text field button (double-click the object Label twice to get to this point):

  1 see if "Use device fonts" is selected in a drop-down list on the left side of the properties panel. This selection will not let you embed the fonts. If it is enabled, try rather #2 below. If it isn't, select it, export the movie and put it in your output files.

  2. change "Use device fonts" to "Anti-alias for animation." Click on Embed. Select all the options with the Latin inside and click OK. Export a movie and put it in your output files.

  Note that you need to do this for each button that does not properly display the characters.

  I have a query using SQL Developer on a table that contains several names of companies from different countries, and is one of the controls I should do to ensure consistency of data to find all the rows that the company name contains special or non-English characters (such as c, a, as example).
  
  I don't know what can I use to do this. I tried to gather using NLS_SORT, but it did not work.
  
  Is there a way to select only the lines that contain these special characters or non-English, excluding the results the lines containing only English characters? Please have in mind that we have a lot of languages in this table.
  
  The area that I would like to make the conditions is VARCHAR2.

  Some of my docs have text symbols generously dot the text.  I know that you can select the option not to display text symbols, but still, they appear in the FM and PDFs and RoboHelp and make havoc with spacing.

  I think you're misunderstanding symbol FM tab for a left paren.

  Also, I suspect the red text was a font substitution (or it has been interpreted as a font substitution) when the content was imported from anywhere where he came, it's just the proximity with the tab character that makes it appear as if they are the cause/effect. Or it could be a character named tag that is applied to the text color is red.
