  I don't know what is happening here.  I can't see the text using the text tool.  All I can see are tiny boxes even made police 60 points.  Must be huge.  Happened more than a week and I ran an update via the cloud last night.  Has not fixed it yet.  Ideas?

  I'm not able to add text to pictures.  I can click on the text tool and drag to insert a box, but no blinking cursor appears.  If I type my text, for example 'Beka', the layer is given this name, but the text does not appear.  So far I have tried:

  • make the text larger or smaller (to make sure it wasn't just a problem whether at small/large to see)
  • change the color of the text to ensure that it didn't mix with the background

  Any ideas would be appreciated.

  Try to reset the text tool by clicking on the small arrow facing downwards and select Reset Tool.

  I often use an image unique background (a map) and then add multiple layers of arrow shapes and text to serve as a section for presentations of travel titles.

  Once I did two or three layers of different type, the tool just closes.

  It will not create a new layer and if I make a new layer, and then click the text tool, the bar appears but it is very small and no type will appear when I enter the text.

  I have to go back to zero, start an entirely new document or restart PS to get the tool text to start working again.

  Any ideas what is happening?

  I discovered that the guy is there, but the size is tiny.

  If I reset the size of 72 to 1072 is visible

  If the size is gone for this document.

  A new document is fine, but this document is dedicated.

  My tool suddenly stopped working.

  If I try to put some text, it seems to work in what I see a bounding box and all that.

  But I do not see the type itself.

  And nuance in the control panel Gets a "?" to place a color.

  I reinstalled Photoshop CS4 and it still occurs.

  The only cases I can think it could possibly is 1. I had a recent update to Acrobat and 2.  (and that's when it happened) I copied the text from Illustrator and tried to paste it in Photoshop. Don't know if one of these two is weird but I thought I would mention it.

  I'm on a Mac Pro 2008 with 8 cores, 16gig or ram running the latest updates for Leopard.

  Can anyone help? Not being is not able to use the type in Photoshop is a disaster.

  Hello!

  Before accession CC, I had Ai CS5 and PS CS5. I just signed up for Cloud Creative, and I need InDesign. Since download Id CC, the tool does not work in Ai CS5 or Id CC. PS, if I try to create a text box, I get an error: "could not complete your request because something prevented the text initializing engine." When I uninstall Id, everything works fine. (My version CS5, that is).

  I hope it's a simple solution-miracle, but talk to help Adobe online has not helped. Not sure if the guy knew something. I can't find information about this problem, anywhere. I need Id as soon as possible. It is useless without type.

  For reference, I run the programs on a PC to 8 Win.

  Yes.

  So, I uninstalled InDesign CC, and everything works fine.

  There is something to do with CC which becomes twisted. The good news is, I discovered that I have InDesign CS5, just didn't know it. So, for now, I'll use that. But, I hope this is resolved so I can possibly get CC.

  Right-click on an open office space > Personalize > mouse pointers > pointers tab, click on use default > apply/OK

  Please go into Photoshop preferences and then go to the tab Type.

  In it please change the text engine to Asia to the Middle East.

  Restart Photoshop and then see if it works.

• The text tool does not work in Photoshop CC

  When I try to use the text tool, that it does nothing when I type even if the font size is 12, and the color is black on a white background, and then when I try to get out of the text tool a progress bar will appear that says "Record type" and the progress bar does not until 15 minutes later. After that, no text shows. I tried to move the text tool above where I have used it previously, and the cursor doesn't detect any text in the box.

  This is a brand new installation of photoshop, I did not any customizations to it.

  My operating system is a Mac with OS X 10.7.5.

  I found the problem! When I pressed 'File' > 'New' to make a new document, I typed in the 1000, but I'm used to the measures in pixels, not inches. The new facility was in inches lol. The Web was gigantic! Once I put it to a smaller size that the text tool worked great! I feel stupid, I over looked that.

  Is this a new problem with an old facility?

  Or a new facility and the Type of tool has never worked?

  What is the size of the image in pixels and resolution?  Something that sometimes happens is that people get the wrong units and I think they are pixel setting when it is in fact centimeters.  If you have a low resolution game, like the default 72 dpi, which can cause the tiny text, it might as well be invisible.  This is particularly problematic when the Type is set on Points.  To test simply do a new document with reasonable proportions.  that is 1000 x 1000 pixels, 300 dpi

  Another test is to select the text layer and use free transform, or zoom so you can see if you have a small bounding box.

  If this isn't the question and the text color is not the same as the background, then...

  First step is to reset the preferences.  (The relocation does not overwrite the preferences file).

  Also try resetting subject tools.

  Then uninstall Photoshop and use the cleaning tool before reinstalling.

  When you run the Recognize text command, you can select ClearScan for PDF output style. This then allows to modify the text in the PDF document. Right now, you probably use the searchable Image option by default when running OCR, which creates an invisible text layer in your document under the actual image. That's why the change does not appear in your document, but it is displayed when you export to Word. Here's a little trick that explains what you need to do:

  I wonder if anyone knows anything that I'm not on this subject:

  I have a percentage counter in my preloader that still works perfectly fine in CS3. Now I downloaded CS5 preloader displays static text "LOADING" but not the dynamic text with the charge percentage.  I have re-embedded fonts, don't get no error when I publish, and the preloader doesn't actually seem to work. Why dynamic text would not show upward? I use classic text fields.

  Any help, greatly appreciated.

  When you move the slider to the frame that contains your preloader code, do you think that any text in myTextField?  If so, remove it.

  in particular, "LOADING" should not be seen in myTextField.

  If this doesn't solve your problem, you probably haven't a textfield named myTextField.  Use the trace() function to confirm.

• Tools does not not in CS5

  I loaded an image in PS today and none of the tools of work.  For example, if I select harvest (either from the keyboard or toolbar), the mouse pointer changes the icon of the culture, but no harvest plan or handles appear when I click on and drag on the image.  If I do the same thing with the marquee tool, no framing box appears.  If I select the text and type, no text appears.  I right click on the current tool in the options bar and reset all the tools, but nothing changes.  I have added layers, created new files, restarted PS, restarted my PC, same thing.  I'm almost a power user, but I've used PS several times / week for 10 years or more and it never happened.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  Thank you, Benjamin.  It turns out that Windows had 18 updates, that he expected to install.  I left it, rebooted and the problem disappeared.  Go figure.  I didn't not try your suggestion because, if it is not broke...

  Hi I use Ps CC in a Mac Pro. The TEXT tool in not working not properly. After I do any changes in the text (size, color, font... edit) just disappears! The cursor goes back and removes all the text has been select or rigged.
