the BIOS lock

Hey all,.

My friend lets her friend use the laptop and he somehow locked out of it. I turn it on and it appears with a blue box asking for administrator password or startup password. We do not know what it was changed to and now I'm getting key deactivation of the system 98827083.

Help, please!

  • Configuration of the BIOS Lock/password

    Hello!

I am a computer technician in a school and one of my teachers has a laptop computer that they forgot the password in the BIOS. I already reset the other passwords on the system, but I would like to be able to change the boot order so that the two default startup messages do not appear before loading Windows.

Is there anyone available who might be able to create a master password for me? I have the system code and the serial number of the laptop available.

    Thank you!

The registered owner of the system needs to make a call to Dell support - they will solve the problem.

There is no way to do online - you must call with checking the property.

  • 5205 - update of the BIOS and the system locked up satellite

I have a Toshiba Satellite 5205, I updated the BIOS to 1.5 (I think it was.)

And the laptop locked up it seemed all in the bios flashing. The reason why I say shut up
is because windows never stop after the flash and windows was totally locked up.

Now when I turn on the laptop, I get no image on the LCD at all. And the remote control downwards at the front said "technician / bios call. I know that if the battery go dead bios will reset (like a desktop computer.)

But another problem is, can't get off the case to get at the battery, so he'll recover.
I never had too many problems with laptops, I can fix/repair computers office without problem.

I was wondering, bios clear/reset if I take the battery pack on the back of the computer laptop itself?
Don't know if it will have the same effect as the removal of the (watch battery inside like a normal desktop computer.)

I had a problem with my pad endangered and hang retouching who enter or exit Windows. It's
    why I decided to update.

    Because I don't get a picture now, I can't re-flashing the bios.

Any advice on that would be great.

    Hello James

If you remove the CMOS battery, it will have no influence. The BIOS is written in the BIOS chip and cannot be given to previous version before upgrading. The problem is that you have a United States model and I have no experience with the Toshiba U.S. models.

If you want to see the page we Toshiba under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

Maybe you can find something interesting there. In any case, from your description, I assume that the BIOS is faulty and you need technical assistance. Call them and ask what exactly the error message. Please give us a feedback on this problem. It may be useful for other users we Toshiba.

    Bye and good luck!

My laptop model number is Pavilion dv6t 7000. In recent days, he had a problem. When I turned off my laptop and put it off, the next day I find that is not starting. A black screen, caps lock shift is blicking twice and f12 key is red (WIFI). Nothigs happen. Then, I searched and came to know that it is the failure of the bios. Then I tried some way and nothings worked. ATLAST when I remove the cmos battery it set again after 2 or 1 minute its starts fine. Then againg I turn off the computer and its power day following again the same problem. I was to solve this problem by removing cmos battery and put it again for 4 or 5 days. But today this tip does not work. I tried so many method like (Windows key + B), (byholding down the power button for 1 minute), (Flash UEFI) etc. to solve the problem of failure of the bios, nothing worked at all. What is the problem?  Is this really a failure of the bios? How can solve this problem? What is a dangerous problem? There the chances that my laptop is completely exhausted?

  • Tecra M5 is locked by the BIOS

I bought a M5 from computer local company for my granddaughter of recycling as its first laptop, it wasn't a lot of money because she needed a hard drive and was blocked from password.

Told me of Toshiba bring to a local PC world to get the response Code, but repairs are £200 regardless of fault.
Because it is not defective and has only need a code can anyone suggest a reasonable person/agent who may be able to help.

    Thank you, John.

    Hello

I can't believe that the deletion of a BIOS password would cost £200.
Also upgrading the HARD drive doesn't have to be expensive.
However, I recommend asking a Toshiba authorized maker to remove the BIOS password.
Only the authorized service partner can remove this item.

You will find a database of all the FSA all over the world.

  • Locks boot S5-1020 HP HP screen & cannot open the bios banner

My HP S5-1020 primer Office No.  It hangs at the initial screen of HP.  By pressing f10 at startup several times did nothing, he never goes to the bios screen.  There is no light on the keyboard so I suspect something wrong with usb.  I tried different keyboards and different usb ports.  All the fans in the case are well-developed.  Power led is steady green.  I removed the 2 ram dims and tested individually by themselves.  Nothing helps so far.

  • DELL xps l502x BUG, the BIOS is locked, when the bios password is put under vacuum

I am a computer scientist, I tried to remove my bios password that worked very well up there, but when I went into the bios can be implemented with options to try to remove the BIOS password I couldn't find the option to remove the password so I thought the password nothing will remove password

So I went to the new option of password, I entered my password, leave the new password and confirm the new password in White option and clicked 'OK' the BIOS did not error, but fortunately accepted.

But after restarting my BIOS again asking BIOS password and shows the indicator of unlocking, I entered one, left empty, space... tried but nothing worked.

If empty passwords not allowed, then the system should not have accepted it in the first place, now, my laptop is not in warranty then what should I do now.

PS: I strongly suggest dell to improve their stable BIOS, so that clients do not have to face these problems

    Hello world

Unfortunately because of inadequate test/development by Dell & Pheonix, there is only one solution, at least if it's the same problem as mine (original post). And also is the solution if you do not know the BIOS password. In other words, to replace the hardware store the BIOS password.

The solution offering the Dell: Is to replace the motherboard, which they claim will cost me 10 to 12K INR. Dell said that they will not replace the component on the motherboard, but the card mother together.

What I did, and I suggest you do the same: I took my laptop laptop to a good repair shop in Mumbai, which has changed re - solder a component on the motherboard. Costs me about 1 K INR and everything worked perfectly until now.

PS: I already spent countless hours with dell and technicians, this was the only solution.

  • Cannot reset the BIOS password

I have reset the bios by disconnecting the battery, but the password remains still.
When I enter the password wrong 4 times the system BIOS is locked, but I'm not giving any number or key.
I have a laptop Elitebook 820. Please help someone!

    Hello

Unfortunately, business machines such as Probooks or EliteBook have more strict security consumption patterns - they do not produce "stop codes", the password cannot be derived from the serial number and the code is stored in a nonvolatile memory to remove the RTC cell does not reset the password in this case.

If you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a file custom SMC.bin that you can use to reset the password at startup.

    Kind regards
