The ccSvcHst.exe process seems to use a lot of resources

What is this good for? Cannot set a low priority because I forgot the password to administrotor. I can't hide the file ".exe"?

I think that this is your problem: http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/ccsvchst/220752/

Quote from the site-

"The ccsvchst.exe file is automatically added to your computer during the installation of the Norton software, and it is referred to as the Symantec Service framework. This process is considered to be safe. It is unlikely to cause any damage to your system.
Can I stop or remove ccsvchst.exe? Most of the non-system are running processes can be stopped because they are not responsible for the operation of your operating system. ccSvcHst.exe is used by "Symantec Security Technologies". It is an application created by "Symantec Corporation". To permanently stop the ccsvchst.exe uninstall "Symantec Security Technologies" of your system. Uninstalling applications can leave registry keys that inflate your registry database. "

If you do not use any Norton product, then analyze your registry for outdated software by scanning with Advanced SystemCare.

    Hi dude, on average

    A. from when what happens?

    B. recent changes made on your computer?

    C. you get any error message?

First of all, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Norton using the Norton Utilities disk and check if the problem persists.

Second, you may have to perform an auditor of the system files on your computer in order to replace the files corrupted on your computer.

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

Type the following command and press ENTER: sfc/scannow

  • I can't find the fix_svchost.bat file update. The svchost.exe process is spiking the CPU at 100% after the computer crashes.

Original title: I can't find the fix_svchost.bat file update.

I'm in you process of having my computer running faster. The svchost.exe process takes 100% of cpu memory and computer dthe freezes. A friend of mine told me a method to solve the problem, but I can't find the fix_svchost.bat update. I went to microsoft update center and don't find any results at all, and I don't know another place to look for. I think that the update does not even exist.

I could send you a fix_svchost.bat file, but I don't think it's the starting point.

What you need to do is run a few respectable scans for malware first, and then see if any of you are your svchost.exe process is still badly behave.

Behind each of the svchost.exe process that see you in the Manager of tasks can be one or more process of XP you have to be running, but malware is KNOWN to imitate or hide behind a svchost.exe process, so you won't be able to see in Manager tasks.  You have to outsmart it.

First yo should make a reasonable effort to eliminate malware, and then start troubleshooting - not the other way around.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

No matter what you use for malware protection, follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs at:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

These comprehensive analyses can take some time, but you really need to run.  SAS will probably be just a bunch of Internet tracking cookies, but you can remove them.  Once you have done at least a full analysis, you can do quick scans in the future to save time and save the analyses complete for when you have more time or are really suspicious of an infection of the system.

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

In 1985, there were 11 known computer viruses.  Today, there are over 70,000 and new threats are detected every day.  Always update your virus definitions before running a scan.

Normally, helpsvc.exe shouldn't use all CPU resources, if you use actually help and support and not much even in this case.  It is possible, however, that you have a malware application using the same name.

The correct helpsvc.exe must be placed in C:\Windows\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries.  The current version should be 5.1.2600.5997 and 727 KB in size.  If your helpsvc.exe is located in another directory or a different size, it is probably malware.  What is the real message of your Norton product?

There was a problem with helpsvc.exe exhausting the resources of the computer, but that the problem was supposed to have been corrected in Service Pack 2 (and you have sp3, correct?). http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/839017

If all else fails, you can disable using Windows:

    1. Start > run > services.msc > OK
    2. Scroll down to "Help and Support" and right-click on it and select Properties.
    3. Stop the service.
    4. Set the startup type to "Manual" (service starts when you click Help and Support) or 'off '.
    5. OK your way out.

  • Someone at - it a repair for a function that is usually common in Windows, the Svchost.exe process? I and many other users of PC have infested with this mystery bug. Its not to damage yet, but...

I'm infected w / which seems to be the most mysterious infection known for Windows right now.  One wonders if it's a Trojan horse, worm, malware, etc., or just a natural process for C: Windows\system32.  It's almost like 'shadow people '.  For most, there quite harmless, fantasy of the mind.  But, from time to time, there is actually something that happens on the corner of your cornea, so to speak.  This is very sneaky and difficult to diagnose a problem b/c he hides with the Service host.  I'm here b/c I have a question, but also to help others to understand that, unlike the 'shadow people', the shadow of an infection is very REAL.  This infected process is, for the most part, quite harmless unless something malicious attaches to it and could things get a bit risky.  Anyway, I'm sorry for this rambling diatribe, but I have a question for someone who is very smart b/c so far it seems not yet to be a definitive repair because some people still think it's a natural function or process in the Windows operating system.  So here it is: How can I solve this problem?  And I can fix it with or without a full restore of my records?  I'd really appreciate any input on this very discouraging, boring, mind and body draining, faulty computer "BUG".  BTW, I have a dv9500 HP Pavilion x 64 Ultimate for Vista that was bought there are 3 1/2 years.  I've dealt with this infection since the end of February and have spent more than $400 on this terrible nuisance.  But Club (all jokes aside), I really enjoyed, grateful and very thankful for someone with an answer to this complicated issue.  Thanks for the time!

  • Strange the Task Manager warning when you try to complete the csrss.exe process.

I have recently had a few horses Trojan one my system. In my paranoia I'm looking for anything that could be a virus remaining. I was looking through my list of remaining process and ensuring that everything was legitimate. I was watching csrss.exe to check to see if it was in the right place on my computer. When I right click on the process, I accidentally hit end process. The warning displayed was different from warning of other processes that I tried to stop, he said "you want to interrupt the system process"csrss.exe "? To end this process stops the operating system immediately. You will lose unsaved data. Are you sure you want to continue? "Then below, there was a box that says 'give up unsaved data and close '. When this check box is selected, a button that says closed which was gray now became available to click.  I just found it strange and I've never seen this warning before ending other processes.

IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOVE:

The list file you most often is a process associated with Norton 360. However, malware is sometimes assumed the names of the legitimate files in order to deceive the end user. Norton is a Devourer of known system and as a result, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he is a legitimate file in your case. However, I recommend you download, to update and scan with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, just to be sure. If the scans do not detect the file and the problem persists I would contact Norton or remove Norton making sure to use the tool to uninstall do.
