The commands ordered in the Structure by using the event trigger

I wrote a few weeks ago, asking for help running of programs using .NET. (Finally understood, thanks) I'm ready to move on. My goal is to control the software Filmetrics by LV in the attached vi .NET Setup works, and now I just have a problem with the controls. To start a measurement of the film, Filmetrics takes a series of Spectra of the sample, reference and background, so I would do the same thing in LV I think that using a structure of the event in a sequence, that's what I'd do, but other ideas are welcome. I want buttons only to be triggered in order and disabled when it is not their turn. From now on, when I click 'Acquire basic' façade freezes. Also attached is a version very simple what I think, and it freezes as well. Any help would be great!

No, do not use a sequence and several structures of the event!

Here is a possible alternative (simple draft).

  • using the structure of the event in the LabVIEW classes

    Hello

I'm new in the use of LabVIEW classes, so don't know much how I can use them.

In my main program, I have clusters with five elements in each. The elements are controls two States and in some groups, there are three States controls. The user will press the buttons (controls), and different things will happen. In my first program were I not using classes, I had a structure of the event and the controls were cases of event in the structure.

Is it possible to somehow use an event of cases in one of the methods that is created in the classes, so that say, that's not in the main program?

I have attached two photos: I wanted to have a structure of the event in servoTouchEvent (in left.tri.lvclass) who is a child.

Let me know if my explanation is not clear.

    Grateful for the help!

    Hello

Yes, you can have a structure of the event in a Subvi rather in your main VI of top-level UI. The trick is to use the 'Save for events' and passing in references to orders that you want to have the event trigger structure for. The refnum output since the function is entered in the terminal of dynamic event of the structure of the event who could live in a Subvi. You can add instances of event where you will see these control events as dynamic events then you can do something with. These excerpts from shows all the code in a simple diagram, but the stuff in the structure of disable diagram could easily transformed into a Subvi:

All this can be done without classes. What will buy classes you include the ability to encapsulate your screws and also perform different code based on what object on the hierarchy of the parent-child classes is on a wire. If the behavior of your code is different between 2-3 State and controls (which I do not know what state controls 3 you are referring), you can take advantage of the classes.

  • 24 v digital signal of the event from the host to the fpga power on/off

    Hello forums or

    Sheet material

    cRIO-9074

module or 9472 digital module 24 V output c series

To expand on the topic described,

I want to be able send a trigger to alarm the fpga digital 9472 out that lasts 30 seconds using the operating system time real clock time on the host computer

The way I approached this problem is that

In the loop where the event occurs, if the event trigger is defined then the fgv has a time stamp when the event occurred is sent.

In the loop that communicates with the control of fpga, I write to the control based on the condition that the difference of the current time checked and fgv time is 30 seconds or less, then it will send the value true, otherwise send fake and wait for the next occurrence of the event.

The main problem after implementation of this is that 9472 led does not turn off when the false value is sent to it.

    cordially Mzamanstl

Timer Keeper SD is a FGV so that it is written for her, once the event occurs

So if the event occurs so timestamp is stored and then the difference of the timestamp result is<30>

then a true value will be sent to the module of 9472

So basically I want the light and I want to do the 24 v output for 30 seconds then turn off and wait for the next occurrence

I think the method that I test it with is not very good, because I realize other factors that may contribute to this problem, so I think I found another way to test

and I will try it but its will take time.

  • Custom event is not captured by the Task Scheduler and unable to trigger by e-mail for the event

    Hello world

We have installed the 9.0 table in our windows 2008 R2 server and Scheduler tasks to send if you find error occurred for the application in it. That's why we created SMTP inside. First, we have implemented the Task Scheduler and generate an error in the application of the table and run the task manually and we receive by e-mail. But when we go for automation by the custom event. The steps below that I follow:

    1. click the Start button, and then select administrative tools > Task Scheduler.

    2. click on the task of creating in the Actions pane on the right.

    3. in the dialog box create a task in the name text box, type a name for the task and provide a description if you want.

    4. in the section security options, select run whether user is logged in or not.

    5. click on the triggers tab, and then click the new button.

6 to start the task drop-down list, select an event.

    7. in the settings section, select custom and click the new event filter.

    8. for the event level, select the error box.

    9. selection of the Source, in the event source drop-down list, select the table server checkbox.

    10. click OK to close the new dialog box even filter and then click OK again to close the new trigger dialog box. The event trigger is now configured.

  • Can I use Ctlref in a structure of the event with a mouse to an event?

I have a large number of controls on a front panel. I use a structure of the event that triggers the movement of a given motor when you press the corresponding button. However, I would like to avoid creating events for identical most of N, so I relied on the use of a mouse down on the front panel event, then retrieve the reference command using the Ctlref node (with gives 'Reference to the control on which the event occurred', according to manual labview) and analyze an array of references to know which engine is supposed to move. However, it seems that this node is not (contrary to what the manual said).

I found other ways to do what I need (I thought using a table containing details of my controls and the coords in the structure of the event node), but I wanted to know why I can't find this node (that is displayed for the event "value change" for example). I'm using Labview 2013.

No luck for you. Mouse down on the Panel does not have the refnum control because it does not work on a control. Mouse down on a control has it, and since you can configure the mouse down events on multiple controls in the same case of event, it also provides a refnum of control so that you can still use the order in question.

This is probably also the question that Jeff might have seen. When you set up multiple events for the same frame that LabVIEW displays only the terminal event that are present in all of these events. Terminals that do not exist in at least a specific event of the multiple events for this image are more selectable.

  • How to use the structures of the event for long-running tasks

I created a state machine that scans a cluster of Boolean controls in a State of 'home '. Most of the States run a Subvi or two in ~ 100 ms or less.

However, a State run for 10 seconds.

The code works but the user interface is limited because the controls are outside the cluster because they provide inputs to the structure of State machine case but do not cause changes in the State. In other words, I all orders cluster stacked vertically on one side of the main panel and do not have the flexibility to move the controls to the more intuitive positions on the Panel.

My question: How can I convert this code in a structure of the event and keep this long term 'event' and prevent that the operator by clicking another button event during the execution of this event?

    Thank you

You say you have controls outside of your main code... You should really put these inside and manipulate them in a State of your state machine is initialized. This allows you to make changes to the code easier and limits of line entering your outside loop.

You can do different things to lock the user.

You can disable specific controls so that they can't be clicked or edited.

You can use the palette of the mouse to define the busy cursor and disabled again once finished, I do this a lot during treatment when my code something loads the user just clicked.

One of my favorites is to set a Boolean value in your data that passes through you event titled structure "disable mouse." When the value is True, a mouse down event will effectively reject the event, clicking on disable. I also added an event mouse move where if the bool disable the mouse is set to True, it moves an indicator of string with the mouse by telling the user why it is disabled.

If you want more specific suggestions, I suggest to post an excerpt of your code, or attach your screws, so that we can better help you.

  • vision: how to use the structure of the event to the output of the voting structure.

    Hello.

I make a program of video detection with vision. I use 'County IMAQ objects' to detect people moving and identify if a people enters or leaves through the demarcated areas (Centre and right to left). If someone is detected, the program returns Boolean according to areas.
periodically, this function repeats and check the image.
To do my easyier to work, I would rather use the programming event, which would allow me to check the values of the three areas only when one of them evolves.
problem, the structure of the event only works with orders and property nodes 'value (sign)' and even if I use the "value (sign)" the structure of the event considers the value change even if the terms of the election returns the same value without changing

is there another way to adapt to a structure of a Boolean result or a County IMAQ function objects event when the beginning of the program made the election?

  • Problems using the event to write new parameter values to VISA structure

    Hi all

I created a VI to read an Omega flow meter. It is possible to change setpoint (setpoint (0-2) SLPM) of the meter and the gas (O2, CH4,...). To read instrument I write its ID (A-Z), followed by a carriage return, for example: A + 0x0D

I created a VI with the events to write only the parameters to the instrument when a value is changed. My VI works but from time to time, it does not write the parameter change (gas or set point). I think that is has something to do with the while loop containing an entry VISA.

Open FMA contains parameters and VISA opend

Case of timeout initialize writing gas and setpoint for the first time

Other events are for the change in the value of setpoint and gas

How can I make sure that any change of setting will be writtent the instrument?

    Thank you

    Salvation Bass,

Well, it is true that I lose this way time-out feature.

No, you do not lose this feature. You put in a different position.

You must call it BEFORE your loop!

I'm not sure that I am following on this one there

Why are you not sure? You have a large number of constants "0d" and it would be great to see that they are displayed in HEX mode instead of the normal display mode.

The new VI manages events sometimes... but sometimes, missing a few changes... I think it is because there is an entry in the while loop. Do you have any idea how to prevent this?

Never, NEVER use parallel loops to write and read on the same device on your serial port!

How do ensure you that you always get the right answer to your order sent before?

What is the purpose of using a second loop here? A loop with no wait States?

  • Cannot use Global Variable in the Structure of the event

    I'm using LabVIEW 2009.

In my LabView project, I have a global Boolean variable called EStop. I can read and write the global variable. If I double click on the global variable, it takes me to EStop.vi which includes a text button. EStop.vi is part of my project.

In one of my report, I have a Structure of the event. If I go to one of the event handlers in this case Structure and right click and select Add event, I get a list of possible events. But this list does not EStop or an EStop events.

I would like to add an event to EStop case: changed value.

Why I can not add to a case of events events that include events on Global Variables as value changed?

How can I add EStop: event changed my structure of the event value.

  • change of the indicator with time using the structure of the event

    Hi all

I use a structure within the meaning of the event to change the State of an indicator. At this point, I was wondering is there a way I can monitor this change of State in a time interval?

Which means that how I can raise the event only when the state change is long enough (for example 5 seconds), if there is a change of State, but the State eventually back to normal (less than 5 seconds), the event is not triggered.

Thank you and hope someone can give me some advice on how to do this?

Sorry for this reading does not completely. Here's a version that works and not stuck to wait.

  • How to determine the order of execution of the structure of the event

    Hello world

I have a structure of the event were it contains four events. All the four events a separate buttons to run. I run events in the order B, C and has. The event finder should find the order of the events previously performed (B, C and A).

  • Using the Structure of the event in a Machine of State Enum

    Hello!

I'm new to labview(~10 months). I tried my best to search on the forum/net but didn't have an explanation.
I simplified the code to show the problem. I'm using Labview 2013 worm 13.0f2 (32 bit).

The "EventStructure_Trigger_in_EnumStateMachine.vi" is a State Enum machine.
The "resting" State contains a structure of event that detect evnet of changing value of 3 buttons:

Do something touches: simply show something of the display flag
Start Run button: bring the program into "run" State
End key: put the program in the 'final' State and then close it

The State of 'run' is a time loop that will be stopped only by clicking the 4th button - button stop running and bring back the program in case of 'lazy '.

The problem is to "run" State, any click on irrelevent buttons 3 (buttons only detected by the structure of the event in case of 'lazy') will make the program crash.
By comparison, I create an another vi attached as 'WhileLoop_in_EnumStateMachine.vi', which is almost the same except that the event structure is replaced by a while loop (and do something key has no function). In this vi, everything works well - by clicking the irrelevent buttons will not crash.

    I can't understand why.

P.S. I failed to attach .vi onto this post... a zip compressed instead.

A problem that resembles yours: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/why-does-simple-case-structure-code-hang/td-p/3176592

I think that the response of Stuart will help you understand how your code handles this situation.

You must manage your events outside your main loop to your structure to operate on any captured event.

  • Instead of using the structure of the event with the producer consumer?

I used the architecture of producer-consumer in the past to control a state machine with the structures of the event.  I'm working now with the basic version of LV that does not include the structure of the event.  Can anyone recommend alternatives to the use of the same architecture in this case?  Thank you, David

Before the introduction of the structure of the event, the only option was the election.  Control terminals are in a time loop (the producer) with shift registers and a wait, usually about 100ms.  At each iteration of the loop, the control's current value is compared to the previous value.  If it has changed, and then take appropriate action.  Andrey suggested, queues are a good way to pass information between the loops.

It works for the equivalent of the value change events.  Things like mouse to top or filter events were much more difficult or not possible.

  • When to use the structures of the event

I wrote several applications using the state machine architecture.  Generally, these applications have two buttons (I created), a race and give up.  The abort button interrupts the guide and goes to a State of inactivity which loops until the run button is selected.  One thing that I don't like, my programs ending up with one or more local variable for the Cancel button.

    (1) should I use structures event for these types of programs?

    (2) is a program of event also structure a state machine?

Why would you need local varables for the button abandon? Do simply lock action so it resets automatically.

If your loop by turning in any case (e.g. for updating views) migh ask both controls. Any necessary event structure.

    ggress1 wrote:

The event structures are mainly for the manipulation of interaction of the user on the front panel. I encourage you to learn more about the structures of the event so you can make an informed choice on the best architecture of code for a particular programming problem. Maybe you should show us some of your code so that we can decide by using the event structures should improve things.

A program with event structures is generally much less forgiving of the rookie mistakes. Used properly, they can easily lock your program.

  • Boolean switch until released by using a structure of the event

I use a Boolean control with mechanical action to activate the button, I want to return to the original state.

I use it in a structure of event defined to trigger a change in value. The action to push the button generates two events in the State on one and the other for when he returned to the stop State.

How can I control this to prevent a single event is triggered and the second event which is put on hold until is ignored, I want the button to return to the original state and not to execute the code twice.

    Thank you

    Jim

Right, I should have told latch.  Do not forget to place the control button somewhere it will be read to reset the latch.  It does not need to be connected to anything, just read.  Sitting inside the case of the event is very good if you do not use anywhere elsewhere.
