Problem: Client will use different images throughout the year.

Question: instead of list an array of names of files above, is it possible preload any content in a folder?

I don't know if it's possible with JavaScript, but generation an array of names of files image from a folder is easy in PHP:

$filenames = [];
$images = new FileSystemIterator('path/to/folder');
$images = new RegexIterator($images, '/\.(?:jpg|png|gif)$/i');
foreach ($images as $image) {
   $filenames[] = $image->getFilename();
}

You can then use the $filenames to inject names into your preloader jQuery script.

Create a folder on your desktop or elsewhere as My Documents, and then in Outlook Express open the folder with the messages you want to save. Highlight a message, and then Ctrl + A will highlight all (or Ctrl-button down while you select only messages you want), now, drag and drop them into the folder on your desktop. Now you can copy this folder to Flash.

The arrow indicates that this folder is really a 'shortcut' to one folder somewhere else. If you right-click on it and select 'Properties', it will show the location where the file that it points to. You probably thought you were copying a folder from one drive to another, but instead of copy, you have created a shortcut instead (maybe the "Alt" key was pressed when you dragged the folder?). If you then remove the drive from which you copied, you will get the error because this player is not connected.

My hard drive is half consumed by a single file in the Content.IE5 hidden folder, can I just remove it?

I created a new folder for Wav files and set it on my desk until I was finished downloading the files for convenience purposes. I then used them to slightly change the default sounds for different commands, events and others. Everything worked fine until I moved the folder on the desktop to another location. Files located in the folder assigned and uncorrupted but will no longer work when the event or the command is enabled. If I move the folder to the desktop everything works well again. No error or anything are reported. The files in the folder will simply not work unless the folder is on the desktop. Is that all I could do to fix this?

3. did you try copied the contents of the file and save it to another location and check the number?

I want to be able to remove the contents of a folder named "downloadhist.xml". The folder is located in local disk C:/users/user name/appdata/Roaming/MSN6/a bunch of letters and numbers/downloadhist.xml.

You can delete temporary Internet files from your computer by using the disk Cleanup utility.

Windows Mail reset / delete the contents of the folder when you restart

After more than a year of use of Windows Mail - all my messages and account information is missing. I have rebuilt them, only to see them disappear after restarting my computer.

Contacts and mail rules are still there, but my files and mail is gone. Show rules with a red X because the destination folder is gone.

It seems that the content of the: Mail C:\Users\...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows

are deleted and rebuilt at some point during the restart process. I tried to change the location of storage in Windows mail, but that setting gets also brought back on reboot.

I don't know if this is normal, but the folder where messages are supposed to be appear in blue.

On other experiences - it looks like all the content of the

C:\Users\*user*\AppData\Local\Microsoft

are getting deleted on reboot - that includes information from Windows Mail. If I change the storage location of e-mail to something outside this directory, it records everything. But is not really solve my problem because I think there are other things stored in this folder that should stay around.

Copy only the folder names - no content

Is it possible to simply copy the names of files in a folder, but not the contents of each folder?

Another answering machine s are assuming by the copy you want to save or print the list of files. If you actually want to copy a tree of folders without files, it can be done using Xcopy with the /t switch.

/T creates directory structure, but does not copy files. Does not work
include empty directories or subdirectories. /T /E includes
empty directories and subdirectories.

Explorer Windows displays is not the content of the folder

I use a new version of Windows 7 on a new pc. Windows Explorer does not work correctly.

After the installation of several programs, I saved files in folders
c:\Program Files (x 86) \ "program name".

The recorded files do not appear in windows Explorer. Curiously, if I look at the contents of the file in another program by using the command open the files are there.

Essentially, windows Explorer displays all files in a folder, regardless of how many times I update the file, restart the pc, run windows update, uninstall and reinstall programs, show hidden files...

So far, this has happened with two different programs so I think that it is independent of the specific programme.

What is happening and how to fix it?

The best standard practice is for files program for the program, then the data stored in your Documents folder (or at least inside your user profile folder). In this way other users can use the same program and their info is separated (they can not access your user folder).

There are a few ways around it.

1. I would really do anything you can to simply store your data, separate from the actual application. But that's just me and I am the ultimate sheep: I do all that the gods of Microsoft tell me to do, ha ha ha.

2. you can install the program in a folder where you already have a full write access. For example, to install the program on C:\Users\Name\Programs I (in other words, make your own folder). Since it is installed in a place that is not a system protected (such as Program Files) folder, Windows won't try to protect yourself.

3. you can turn off UAC, which I think (I'm not 100% sure) also disables such things of virtualization where tricks Windows programs into thinking they have write access to a folder that they are really blocked since. Really, I don't like this option because it removes virtually the last decade of the evolution of the security. UAC has detractors, but Linux and Mac have had for 20 years: I think it's a good thing, we finally too.

PS. This is probably one of the biggest things I wish more people knew: the folder redirection. Even most programmers are not aware, which is kind of scarey :-)
