the desktop folder Vista copy in a folder on the desktop

I met a funny situation. My question is; Has anyone ever seen this before?

You are using windows vista, its to understand that there is a desktop computer, which contains my users of computers and MyComputer ControlPanel Recyclebin etc.  Inside of each user, each contains properly, a folder on the desktop...

Somehow, I accidentally dragged my file userdesktop out of my home directory of the user, in the folder of the main office.  The result, it seems, is an effect like pointing a video camera on his own monitor, by zooming in on itself to infiinity. Now I have like 60 folders named desktop in a tree. In my tree Explorer, I can access these 60 files at 4 different locations.

Strangely enough, perhaps unrelated, these same files accessed via my Start menu are unrelated to records in my Explorer window. I can edit each... but the change does not reflect in the other.

I appreciate your comments. Thank you very much.

  • Copy of the file to Mobile to PC device on a machine Vista

In our Application, we use a mobile device called a scanner. We use ActiveSync on windows XP and windows mobile device center on Vista machine to connect the scanner.

We connect it to the PC by USB and copy the files of devices for PC. It works fine on windows XP machine.

But now, when we use the same in Windows Vista machine we are able to connect the scanner to the computer, but not able to copy the file from a Scanner on PC.

To copy the file, we use a DLL file. On a Vista machine also, we use the same DLL file. I want to know if we need to add or change something in the DLL to work on a Vista machine? Or I need to change some settings of the Vista machine since we use Windows Mobile instead of Active Sync devices.

Let us please if anyone can help.

  • Where are the installation of Vista on the recovery partition files stored?

Where are the real Vista installation files stored on the recovery partition? If it helps I have a Compaq Presario SR5601UK. They are all stored in a folder or are they distributed? A quick dir at the command prompt, the only way you can access the files :-(, revealed a large amount of .wim files, mainly in "preload", but none on about 100 MB in size. I just assumed that HP uses the real Vista installation process, just gives their graphical front-end and adds some garbage in. If he does not tell everything.

Anon, they all are on partition D: and no, this isn't a hidden Vista copy. It is integrated with the HP software. This is also why you cannot repair Vista unless you have a retail copy. Other you need to perform a restore.

The only problem I see with your report is that the machine has not been enabled - which you have to do by phone.

    Activate by phone

1 box of "slui 4" in the search on the start menu, press enter

    2. Select the country or region

    3. dial the number, DO NOT select options menu, just wait and someone pick up.

    4 activate by phone.

I have an acer laptop. Space on my hard C drive is full but my D drive is empty. I want to move the files to the hard disk so that I can free up space.

  • No good user profiles after the update of XP

I was happy with XP ordered a vista upgrade CD whenever there but it was not installed until a few days ago.

The first installation took not - don't know why - and restored to XP.  The second time, it seemed to work very well got to the Vista logon screen but:

The user profile Service service has no logon.
    User profile cannot be loaded.

Managed to get the administrator account open if it has this warning:

Your user profile was not loaded correctly.
You have been logged on with the default profile.
Please see the the event log for more information or contact your administrator.

I did not until now activate vista either online or any other way:

User account control does not have to authenticate the user.
    The error code is 0 x 80070002
Description: The system cannot find the specified file.

If I go to the control center using the admin account and try to make any sort of management accounts... nothing happens.  If I click on any linked account options - "Add or remove user accounts"... "Manage another account '... "Turn user account control on or off" - the little hourglass icon appears for a few seconds as if the computer works on it, but nothing happens.

It seems fundamentally nothing associated with the profiles or user accounts is not working well.

I tried a couple of these things of Mr. Fix - it, and they gave me a cryptic "error 2103" which I managed to learn anything.

I have a host of other symptoms... I can't change the wallpaper to a picture if I can change its color (is - this typical of an admin account? no idea)... I can't launch the programs of the small area "search" but I can if I use the key windows and r in combination... a lot of odd little thing like that.

BI is concerned about this ongoing countdown on my activation... I ordered this Vista copy of Microsoft then its true.

Yes I know it's years behind... no I do not think that I have installed SP1 or SP2-I intend to do that as soon as it begins to make sense.  I'm stuck using what appears to be a paralyzed administrator account, so I'll try to get my next right move.

At the moment the only thing I can think to do is to re - install XP then try Vista again on that.  God knows I don't want to do that.

    Hello

    Hi cooper06,

When you copy a file or folder, you make a copy of the original item that you can then modify, delete, or store independently of the original.

    1. Open the location that contains the file or folder you want to copy.
    2. Right-click the file or folder that you want to copy and then click copy.
    3. Open the location where you want to store the copy.
    4. Right-click in the box, and then click Paste.

The copy of the file or the original file will appear in the new location.

You must paste the file in the destination folder to create a copy of it.

    Copy a file or folder

    At last thnx a lot

Most laptops and many OEM desktop computers (HP, Sony, etc.) come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and/or damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. It is normally very expensive, around $20-25.
