The display is empty only show the blinking cursor
Hello!
I bought my laptop mini 250 hp in March and there are about 3 weeks that only randomly, he went to a blank screen with a blinking white cursor in the upper left. Ive tried to charge it, remove the battery and reinstall my windows program. I can turn it off using the power side button but when I turn it on it flashes to the HP splash screen then past on the screen empty. What can I do else? Any advice would be helpful as I am not tech savvy when it comes to computer failure. Thank you!
I ordered and received the USB and all redone. Its works perfectly! Thank you very much for your help!

How can I stop the blinking cursor?
Hey
I've been using an older version of TLF and used flashes = false when I don't have or want the cursor blinks.
Now I can't find another way to do this.
It seems that if you use the SelectionManager you're stuck with this default blinking.
Or am I wrong?
Concerning
Micheal
The blinkRate moved from the SelectionManager to the SelectionFormat. In this way, you could have separate blink rates for targeted and non targeted selections.

Assign news SelectionFormats to the focusedSelectionFormat, inactiveSelectionFormat or unfocusedSelectionFormat SelectionManager properties.

T61p wouldn't start and stuck to the blinking cursor
A few days ago I was working. Suddenly, I got a blue screen. Unfortunately I did not read fully what it was that restarting always worked. When I first started, he was stuck just after logo Thinkadvantage. All I see is a slider blinkiing. So, I went put BIOS in place and ran HARD drive Diagnostics. He did not report an error. I reinstalled the hard drive. I still have the same problem. I don't have the recovery with me cd.
What is a hard drive problem?
It was a very good link. I tried everything I could. I don't have a restore CD. To get the recovery CD, I have to call. Lenovo support mentioned that I might be charged for the call. One more, I'll be charged for the restore CD. It would cost me about 50 buck. I threw in another $ 80 and buy windows 7 family pack updated my Dell XPS Gen 4 and T61p.
Both went well. It's really worth. No worries so far I've had all the time in my desktop XPS Gen 4

Failure to upgrade the hard drive T30 - blinking cursor - will not progress
I have trouble to upgrade the hard drive on my Thinkpad T30.
I'm trying to upgrade a 40 GB hard drive to a hard drive of 250 GB. (New drive is the EVE of Western Digital WD Scorpio 2500 b)
I used the Western Digital Lifeguard Tools to clone the drive. Unfortunately, when I insert the new drive in the computer, booting stops and is at the level of the blinking cursor.
I used the tools of Lenovo's PC to test everything.
I have used Western Digital Lifeguard Tools to check the hard drive.
I've updated my Bios and embedded controller program.
When I start the computer and press F1 to access the Bios, the sign more shows next to the hard drive. I understand that this means that the Bios recognizes the hard drive.
I went into Setup to choose the hard drive as the boot device, but the computer still hangs at the level of the blinking cursor.
When the new hard drive is connected to the computer by usb in an external case, it shows that the contents of the old drive is copied to the new drive.
What should I do now to solve this problem and get the computer to boot from the new drive?
A program, often recommended by the ortegeluis is Easeaus Disk Copy freeware that can help you.

The arrow cursor guard flickering in Windows 7
I have a Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 7. Suddenly, just after the update of Firefox, the cursor started flickering. It's annoying as possible and I want him to stop. What should I do? I need a step by step solution this problem. I do not use Internet Explorer at all because it is simply too buggy and mess up too.
It seems obvious the problem that I have regarding this update.
I suggest you only install IE11. It's really very good.
You can also have an infected computer. The blinking cursor can tell you what the computer is very busy doing something that you do not want to happen.

Blinking cursor Windows 7 iMac, retina end-2014
Hello
I have problems with Bootcamp & Windows 7. I have:
iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2014)
4 Ghz Intel Core i7 processor
32 GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 memory
Startup disk 500 GB Flash storage
Graphics AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB
Serial number d25PM0VSFY14
10.10.4 OS
51.14 Bootcamp & Windows 7
I also have a surge protector and battery backup.
It is the second time this has happened to me. I have Windows 7 installed on a partition on my hard drive. I primarily use Windows for work. I go back to my computer, after he went to sleep through the night and there is only a black screen with a blinking cursor.
1 restart does not help. Windows starts to load and says "Windows Recovery" but then returns to the black screen and the blinking cursor.
2 press and hold F8 does nothing.
3. I installed a program of NTFS file and deleted the ATI drivers as another (old) suggested post. It did not set the issue.dd
4. I restarted my key USB from Bootcamp/Windows 7, however, the keyboard and the mouse are dead when the Windows Setup screen appears.
The Mac partition continues to operate correctly. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. The first time that this has happened, I finally gave up and had to wipe the HD, reinstall Windows and all software. I lost at least a whole day of work because of this. I'd really, really prefer not to have to reformat again - especially because it seems that this could happen just once again. Is this a known issue with the display and Windows 7 drivers?
Help, please!
Thank you
Dan
1. do you have any active Windows automatic updates?
2. There are a lot of issues with sleep/hibernation on W7. You have an active Windows system restore point?
3. you have any software NTFS third side OSX or Windows, that allows read-write access to partitions?

Hello
I'm new to the forum and have a big problem.
So, any help is welcome and appreciated. My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor.
Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.

Hello
Please go into the BIOS settings and check if the HARD drive is listed there.
The blinking cursor is a typical sign of a malfunction of the HARD drive.
Eventually the HARD drive is dead and you need to replace it and reinstall the operating system.Good luck

Hello, whenever I turn on my HP G60-635DX laptop, I get a black screen with the blinking cursor right. I am running Windows 7 64 bit and I tried to do a system recovery using Recovery CD that I bought online, but the computer will not get past the blank screen. Alienware Aurora R4 attends BIOS blinking cursor
My brother turns on its Alienware Aurora R4, Windows 7 (64 bit) / and BIOS version A06 BIOS splash screen comes up as usual, the loading bar gets about 25% of the full path, then it will beep once and the screen goes black with a flashing cursor (line underscore) in the left corner high and there it is.
Without these changes have been made to the machine (hardware or software), and he has not had problems before; However, he managed to disconnect the machine as he ran the previous night, and the blinking cursor boot was apparently the first boot from.
I have really no idea where to go from here in terms of diagnosis of the problem, but I have a vague feeling that it is an easy solution...
Any help is appreciated, I have not found many similar problems through google...
We thought finally it more filled its hard disk to the point windows could not start. I hope this information helps someone else.
