The DVD HD player playing withouth HD movies?

Now there are 3 programs that can read the dvd: Player Windows media, Toshiba HD DVD player and Windows media center.
And my question is that I would be able to play HD DVD and normal DVD if I remove the HD DVD player software, so I can just watch with Windows media player or Windows media center?

No!
You can play HD DVD only with HD Toshiba DVD player software

If it just happened all of a sudden, you can restore the registry files of the system in working order by following option n ° 1 on this page.  If this does not work, you can be reasonably sure that the configuration of the system is not the problem and start looking into other possibilities as a broken drive or a bad connection inside the cable.

  • Need help to import the DVD that I made using Windows Movie Maker

I made a slide show DVD in my computer XP using WMM. I thought that I taped on the C drive first, but I can't access either one to make changes. I can view the DVD using Windows Media Player, but I want to change it

For a re-release in Movie Maker, you need the. MSWMM

see if you can find it... Maybe you saved before you

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
2 is listed in the device CD/DVD Manager?

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982116

Note: Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756

  • IDE #1 ERROR Satellite A40-151 - no upgrade of the dvd/cd player

    Hello
Yesterday, I was using my A40-151, as I do every day, and I noticed that I don't have a dvd player on my computer anymore. I opened the drive and put a cd inside. The player makes all the usual noise and then stopped, but there was still not a dvd drive on my computer icon.

I rebooted and noticed that the IDE #1 Error message appears at the top right of the screen on power upward. eventually the laptop just starts as normal, and all operations seem normal (touch wood!).

I have not upgraded / removed the drive. In fact I've never opened the laptop once and it was a year ago to upgrade the RAM.

I "googled" the problem, but I'm still no wiser despite a few threads on various reading forums.

I'd appreciate any help that my thesis is due soon and I need my car!

    See you soon

    Hello

This error usually appears because of the evil master /slave on the STRANGE settings.
But in this case, the BIOS would not recognize the drive and it is not possible to boot from the CD/DVD-ROM.
So maybe the problem is related to another question.

I found this thread: seems to be useful for you

  • HP Pavilion 23-a200a, All-in-On: operation of the DVD/CD player

Today, I got a CD/game (Commander-in-Chief to be precise) in my drawer of CD/DVD. I was with windows media player to add music to my phone connected via USB. Everything seemed ok, CD/game appeared in the Media Player list and the phone.

My wife then wanted to install a game for my children. To put the CD/game in the tray, nothing happened. I could hear the CD moving around, but never popped up AutoPlay functionality. I checked my computer and there was only the C: D: and E: icons. No icon of CD/DVD at all.

I have AVG PC Tune up 100% mine. He picked up on a problem with the device named "hp DVDRAM GTA0N" I followed the instructions on how to check if the drivers are up to date, but he said that it is the current driver for this bit of hardware. If there is still one! mark inside a yellow triangle on the device name and DVD of CD does not work.

What can I do? I need help please.

  • T42p does not recognize the DVD/CD player

My CD drive is not recognized. Can't find it in the device (Windows XP) Manager. He can not find in the Toolbox diagnostics. System does not start a CD player, which leads me to think that it is a hardware problem and not a problem XP.

I said it's probably the motherboard, but I wonder about the BIOS.  Some boots before the appearance of this problem, I had two instances where when I started, there was no current date in BIOS and I had to continue. I ordered a battery of BIOS, but before I could change it, the clock/date BIOS problem went away.

Now, I have this weird problem with the optical drive. Is there a way to force a BIOS update? I already have the latest version and when I try to update, the update program tells me I've already updated to the latest version and won't go beyond. I really want to force a reflash to see what is happening.

Perhaps a switch to command line to force the BIOS update program? A way to flush out the theBIOS?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    An addition to avoid misunderstandings:

You will need measure the resistance of the fuse between their welded ends. If the resistance = 0, the fuse = OK, if "1" or no end, then the fuse is broken.

If you use a DVD - RW disk... you could try a DVD-R, but some DVD players
will not play a home made DVD... not much you can do about it.

As an experience... you could try the following freeware to burn a video DVD
recorded with your file to .wmv Movie Maker.

  • Satellite M40: message: can not play because the DVD decoder is not installed

not serious... I am back... I did a little reading and tried to read another cd in the drive and the message came to say "can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed, so I guess that's the problem because I have a recovery * DVD *.» Anyone know where I can find a dvd for a Satellite M40 decoder?

    > can't play because the dvd decoder is not installed
This message appears if you want to play DVD movies with an application like Windows Media Player that has no (plug-in) installed DVD decoder.
Usually the DVD can be played with special programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD for example!

But this DVD decoder has nothing to do with the Toshiba Recovery DVD and the fact your new DVD Player cannot read the recovery DVDs.

I recorded using camcorder on the small discs of dvd toshiba - I think they're called 8 mm. It is a dvd - rw disc. I could see the disc on my dvd player. However, when I tried to watch it on my computer using windows media player, I received the message above (in my title) and also C00D116F error code and the disc will not play. I wanted to save the record that I had done on the computer, make some changes, and perhaps to share it on the web. This is solveable problem or I have driver or compatibility problems? Help, please! Thanks for all the contributions.

The DVD has a VIDEO_TS folder containing the VOB files?
If you run the version of Vista Ultimate or Home Premium
You may be able to import the VOB's from the DVD directly in
Movie Maker. Just open Movie Maker and get access to the VOB files...
they will be in the folder VIDEO_TS on the DVD.
