BlackBerry Smartphones issues with setting up e-mail account.

It sounds simple enough, I had a look at this guide to set up Blackberry Storm email: http://www.611connect.com/howto/amber_how-to-setup-gmail-on-your-blackberry-storm, but my problem is that I don't have an e-mail tab on my Storm in the configuration section.

How do I configure this?

Hi, thanks for the help, but I subscribe to the data plan, so it must be something else, or my provider was not me registered for the one I selected...

very frustrating!

17/10/09 - if it turns out that my provider had not subscribed me to the plan I chose. GRR.

Thanks for the info. you're right, I probably have a Blackberry account through my provider of the support cell. I didn't know this until I bought this phone. I love on the phone, except that I wish RiM would have included courier pop and internet through the cellular provider without the need to have a special account. It's expensive and with the extra cost, I don't want to activate the account. Thanks again for the info.

    Hello

It is unfortunate that you did not know this before purchase... a pity indeed. But, be aware that BB provides some unique items that are for the customer BB companies don't. For example, carriers must install and maintain a unique infrastructure that is only for their BB customers. As a result, they may charge extra for these services. It is regrettable that they have not revealed these facts you advance... oh, it's the companies that control the price... no RIM.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones a messege file per e-mail account

I have 2 email accounts set up on my BB. My personal account has its own folder, but my work account (outlook) shows my staff and prospects. How can I delete my personal account of this folder?

    Thank you

You can not.  The "Messages" icon on the home screen opens also all e-mail accounts and possibly SMS messages.

You can buy a small application called empower a BES mailbox for about $20.  A free trial version is available for OTA installation at http://ota.getempower.com

Personally, I prefer to have a place to display all of my email with a single press of the M key.  This helps home screen hotkeys (QWERTY devices only), and when I want to watch messages for an Inbox (on SIX addresses sent to my BlackBerry) or just my unread messages, I use a Saved Search to display exactly that!

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to remove the e-mail account?

Hi I just bought a BB Storm and owned a BB curve. I gave my BB curve to my daughter so she can use it, I made a transfer of information to and from BB but my email account is still active on my BB Curve. I tried to wipe it complete, but it is still there, how do I remove my email address from my old BB?

    PHEW!

    Thank you!!!

The e-mail configuration is stored in the ENCORE, not the BB itself (the BB has an interface for BIS, but BIS is the carrier). Thus, wiping the BB does nothing on the configuration. You have to go to

    • Settings > email settings

PC/browser on your BIS site or carriers:

and remove the configuration for the e-mail account.

    Hope that helps!

  • BlackBerry smartphones issues with BB Pearl 8100 on T-Mobile

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8100, my father gave me, on support for T-Moble. There seem to be some quirks:

    1. It says that I have two missed calls (or more) at all times. He stil increments when I miss a call, and when I discovered the call log, 2 are given the number if it was higher, but otherwise he doesn't have a 2.
    2. Where I live, T-Mobile does not reach then I'm roaming on a local carrier, Corr Wireless. Why can't I set up email on my device. I can go to a city where T-Mobile reached, but I keep forgetting to try to set up roaming are not. Is there a way to get around this or should I just put in place in the city? And as a side note, it'll work on homelessness when it is implemented?
    3. The trackball seems not working not just all the time, and in fact it often will record a 'up' when I try to scroll down, while it won't save a 'down' when trying to scroll to the top. This problem comes and goes, but when it is at its worst, I can't scroll down at all without using the shortcut keys (which don't always work in a given application). If this can be a software issue or firmware, or is usually strictly a question of mechanism of sale? In addition, left and right are generally not affected. Also, which may or may not be related, but the click does not always work, I have to use the Enter key in the place (or what I can do what clicking would do otherwise). By clicking on I mean by pushing on the trackball, it does not seem to register.

Well, it's a moot point now. I took the trackball mechanism and the ring of restraint and put them in a BB 8320 that I have which worked fine except that the trackball did not work well and the retaining ring has been broken. BB curve has more features than the BB Pearl, at least in this case, so I'll stick with that.

    2. "I want to stop with the installation of e-mail".

The option "I want to create or add a new account" does not appear. Anyone know how to solve this problem and how can I add a new email account?

    Hello

    Thank you very much!

    This is the solution!

Tell the truth, I did did not check again if the normal browser worked. In the upper right, gprs is written in small print and not wholesale (GPRS), but the browser seems to work anyway (with WAP?). I have no knowledge yet of any mobile internet...!

So now I'm able to access my confidentiality pop3 my own emailserver using googlemail as intermediary.

At least for the next year, I can work with this until my contract ends and I can take a new with BIS.

HI, I made a hard reset recently because I wanted to delete my e-mail of the company. Since that time, I can't active internet E-mail like Hotmail on my torch 9800. I can activate my old email in the "Account Activation Email" menu, but when I try to verify my password I got an error "sorry, impossible to continue your session. Please log in again,' is anyone know what I can do to activate my old email or a new one?

In your phone's browser, select http://mobile.blackberry.com .  Scroll to the bottom for Communications and electronic mail.  You can activate your email account for your phone from there.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to choose what e-mail account to send

I have a 8330 from Verizon. I have the option enabled company and send and receive e-mails from my very good corporate email server.

However, I also created my personal account on the BB. I get personal e-mails as well. But I want to be able to send emails via my personal account. At present, all emails sent through the company, that I * don't * want to happening.

How can I configure the BB so I can choose which account to send from email?

    Thank you!

Open your personal e-mail and send a message from here, it should also be a separate icon, all messages will go into your main folder, but it must be in this BIS account to send from this account BIS.

  • BlackBerry Torch 9800 of Smartphones "email set up the icon does not"... impossible to change or set up e-mail accounts.

Torch 9800, network provider, O2 UK.

Even if my BlackBerry with O2 service is connected and works as usual, I'm totally without enamel on my Torch 9800. I've owned the Torch 9800 since March. Everything has been fine until last week when I changed the password on one of the 3 email accounts I had set up on my device.  This change of password remains one of the accounts cannot send or receive mail and is also brings me to discover I couldn't enter e-mail address set up on my device or via my site of network providers ( www.o2email.co.uk ).

I spent hours on the phone with O2 debate this issue. The usual controls and procedures have been carried out, battery pulls, checking settings, etc. and service books were removed and returned several times. These actions have not solved the problem but rather leads to the loss of my other accounts Unit 2 e-mail which work properly but have now disappeared in the air. After trying all possible solutions with O2 I come here looking for an answer.

When I visit my mail service BlackBerry network providers trying to create an account using my PIN etc, I absolutely do a pop up box with the message error "your account is not accessed through an HTML browser. Please use your devive to access BlackBerry Internet Service "!  The result is the same, that I connect from my camera on 3 G or wireless, or from a PC (tried several browsers).

On my camera, when I click the icon email accounts in the menu setup that nothing happens, no answer at all. I tried several times and there is no way to configure or change e-mail accounts. I am without mail on my device and growing more and more short of patience.

Now, I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice on how to solve this problem. What is a BlackBerry without e-mail capabilities? I see electronic research set up on the Torch 9800 that I'm not alone here so if someone to BlackBerry is to listen to the problems? If it's a matter of Torch 9800 so I am sure that you will do everything you can to solve this problem, but waiting to help by offering a solution to the problems mentioned.

    Thank you

    Welcome to the forums, bs342!

Well, since you have searched the forums, you're probably aware that the problem you are reporting is unfortunately a common these days.  The good news is that RIM is certainly aware and are working on the problem.

First of all, we will try something on your computer.  What browser do you use?  Your problem, it could well be as simple as to clear the cache of your browser, then closing and reopening the browser for the website to try again.

If this does not work, try this:

In the browser of your device, select mobile.blackberry.com. Select the country of your choice, then click Communicate > Email. Scroll to other personal e-mails and click on join now, then start the configuration of e-mail. You should be able to integrate your e-mail accounts in this way until RIM has solved this problem.

Please let us know how it goes!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not set up additional e-mail accounts on 8310

I have Setup 3 email accounts on my new BB curve. Unfortunately, when I try to add another account, nothing happens. I'm trying to do on the BB. I have AT & T.

I know it is supposed to be a Web site where I could manage my email accounts, but cannot find it now. (I once found and tried to login, but I was told I could not.) Tried to register, said that there was already someone with the e-mail account. Confusion between.)

Any help for this beginner (within a week) would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

    Glenn, watch this:

Basically, if you have created your account BIS on the BB, you will need to open it from the BB, create a BIS login and pw for the PC... and then you can enter your BIS carrier site of connection of your PC.

  • BlackBerry smartphone how to set up internet and e-mail?

    Hello!

I recently bought a BB 8300 BES (I guess) and West no way to configure it! All I can do is to activate email business (which I did not), and theres no option of browser or via e-mail (I can not add email accounts)! Is it possible to change to BIS? My ISP gave me all the info I have to configure my device, but I can't find where.

Thanks a lot for your help!

If your provider has only a BlackBerry of pay-per-use plan, not a data plan unlimited BlackBerry? When you talked to them how did say you must configure e-mail accounts?

BES or BIS isn't the software, just the 2 types of plans you can choose from. With BIS, you can configure up to 10 personal email accounts, browse the internet and includes the package data unlimited (generally excluding text messaging). With this plan, your Inbox of your e-mail account synchronizes with a BlackBerry. All data must be synchronized via a wired connection with the Desktop Manager software. The price of this plan is usually about $30 (depending on your operator).

BES has all of that with the addition of the messaging capability of installation on the device company. If your employer has a BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) all data allows to synchronize the BlackBerry wireless. The price of this plan is usually about $ 45 (depends on your operator).

  • BlackBerry 8820 Blackberry Smartphones is missing its icon "e-mail setup".

My wife is this BB online, unlocked.   We live in an area that is a little behind the curve and our data GSM service is almost useless.  8820 was chosen because of the wifi which can connect to most of the places she goes.

I had a few problems of implementation.  The phone ' 100% brand-new "which has been listed as if by magic on ebay got some inside information.  The seller swears that it was due to a careless technician during the unlocking process.  I don't know if the problems I have now are remnants of the unlocking process.

That being said, here is my question.  I'm new to the BB so patient with me.  We do NOT use data of moble data GSM from our supplier.  As far as our carrier is concerned, it is a phone.  We use wifi to browse in the House and we would read our email POP of our Web site.  I have configured outlook for these e-mail accounts.  We are NOT a large company and do NOT have that one full IT Department to keep this thing running.

I have no icon for 'email facility.  I have read many posts on the issue and have had little result.  I checked in options-> advanced-> applications.   It shows 'installation application 4.5.0 email' but I have no way to setup e-mail account a simple POP.

The basic software and Blackberry system is 4.5.0

    Where is my icon!

I'm saying this is a simple request, lets get this work so that we can for the really difficult things.

    Thanks for your time

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

The icon, what you are talking about is the interface for device for BIS. BIS is BlackBerry Internet Service, a service offered by your operator, to build a bridge between your BB and e-mail systems connected to the internet. BIS is a service provider that comes with the data of your carrier plan. Your carrier think your device is just a phone, they are not then providing data on your phone, which means that the icon is not there since it is linked to your provider data services.

Which, therefore, it must be, isn't the e-mail provided by BIS services. You need something else... a 3rd party email, compatible with your BB app, which will allow you to email (via their interface - without going through BB messaging interface) on your WiFi only and never on the cover of your company's data. Frankly, I don't know quite how to do this, especially for your email private pop There are probably some solutions out there - you should dig for those rather than a method of configuring e-mail on BIS.

GMail offers an add-on app, compatible with a lot of BB, which manages the GMail e-mail. I don't know if it works on WiFi only, but you who could give a thought. You would have to do something to get your e-mail to GMail, but at least you will be able to validate if an app of the add-on can exist without a data network of carriers being required. If you want to try, just use your BB browser to go to the GMail login page and there will be a link that says something like 'More quickly get the GMail'... click on that and it will install the add-on to GMail for your BB. Make sure that you already have a GMail account set up to configure it in the app and run the test.

You can also try to configure your e-mail account webmail interface... then you might browse their via WiFi using the BB browser.

    Just some thoughts...

    Good luck!
