• The form appears blank when submitted

  I recently came across a problem with a newly created in Adobe Livecycle form where each field of the form data is erased when the user submits the form by e-mail (in pdf format). The shape itself is fairly simple with 7 text fields and a button to send the form via the desktop messaging application 2 date fields. There is no JavaScript or FormCalc scripting.

  I use Adobe Licecyle Designer ES 8.2 on Windows 7. I have created several of these forms in the past with no issues. Can anyone help?

  The problem is due to data binding. None of your fields have data links. So, when you submit the form, it becomes white. So, you can change the data as links below.

  Select > object Palette > Binding > Binding Data > select Use Name. For example: If the name of the field's Description, then data binding would be to use a name (Description).

  I could have posted the form, but certain restrictions of security preventing here makes me the same thing.

  I built a form, it uses a cgi for email processing script. It works well, but I was asked to change the order in which we print. The order in which the form appears on the page Web needs to stay like that, but is it possible to change the way it is in the email.   Just thought if someone else has had this problem, I found a solution. I used a "hidden" field and listed the points in the order that I wanted them to print. Works perfectly now! No need to have access to the script cgi at all! Thanks for your thoughts, however, Mike!

  I've seen it work on 11i, but not on R12. Make sure that you have the latest patches of forms and the Sun Java Plugin update patches for your release.

• I received a pdf file and the words in the text of the form filled in and saved tabs/forms appears only in the only filed when you click on this field.

  Hi, the text in tabs/forms of the form filled in and saved text doesn't appear when you click on this tab and field offices. When I go to another tab / filed, it disappears. I need to see everything at once.

  Auto-fill text fields is inactivated.  I have acrobat Pro XI / Win764bit. I can't find anything useful in the German speaking forums (there you will find only: save it on your desktop, open the with another program - not adobe, save it as a .jpg, use the preview and save/print pdf, open with photo shop and so forth but nothing works.)

  It would be good to get a link to an old solution or a useful answer.

  Is there a chance that the application overview on Mac has been used to complete and save the form? What you describe is a typical sign that it was like overview corrupts PDF forms in a number of ways. You can fix this in Acrobat if you have access to a blank form uncorrupted by exporting the form with FDF data and important in the blank form.

• Text of the form only appears when the cursor is in the field

  I created a form and sometimes, when it is filled and returned to me, empty fields. If I place my cursor in the field, see text responses.  What can I do to fix this?

  It is a question of the user.  This happens usually when someone is using one program other than Adobe Reader or Acrobat to fill in the form, such as Mac preview.  You can simply put a text box on the form asking the user to download and fill out using Adobe Reader with a link to the Web site OR if you do not receive a form in this way you can "show" the fields by following these steps.  (Assuming you have at least Adobe Acrobat Standard):

  Form open with hidden data.

  Go to the forms > manage form data > export data

  Save the file as XDP.  Close the form.

  Reopen and go to:

  Forms > manage form data > import data

  -import the XDP file, you just created.

  Should now show all your fields.  Saves time when you have a prepared form.  Keep in mind that some of your data have no AutoFormat as the user has not used Adobe to complete the form and some fields may require 'clearing '.

  I came across a weird problem that I can't solve;

  Whenever the created form is filled using a MAC - sent form has all its hidden text fields.

  I have to click on each field to reveal the data entered.

  As soon as I click on another text field, then that text is revealed and everything else is hidden.

  The forms have been created using Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.

  It is a known problem with the viewer of PDF on Mac. If you are using the software Adobe Reader or Acrobat on Mac this wil question does not exist. Here is a link that describes the issues and what you can do about it.

  Hello! I have a problem of forms. All form fields are compiled, but they appear blank until I click on them. This behavior are the blank forms if I try to print. Here is a screenshot:

  

  This happens usually when the file is filled using a non Adobe application, probably seen Apple, which corrupts the PDF Forms.

  To resolve the issue, you can export the data and then import it again. To avoid it in the future say your users only use Adobe Reader to fill out the forms.

• How to carve, and concatenate the two text fields in a form

  Newbie here... have two fields in a form: FirstName and LastName.    Want to have these appear later as: name, first name.

  For example: 'Rick' "Stockstill" should later manifest as: 'Stockstill, Rick' with a comma separating the names and trailing blanks removed.

  It is a piece of cake in Excel, but have not figured out how to do the same with Acrobat.    My first try at a script looks like this:

  The field 'Recipient' is a standard text field which I am filling using the property to 'calculate '.  The good news is that I get no error message, but the bad news is that the field recipient does not get filled.

• Duplicate fields in the form on multiple pages

  I have created a form that requires the entry of several items on different pages. Once I created the first set of fields, I would like to reproduce (copy and paste?) these same fields to other pages requiring similar entries. Each group can have several areas such as name, address and other info etc.,.

  You can also use the object model to create a template with the form fields and then superimpose the model on other pages and fields will appear in the same place with the same name... See the JS Acrobat API reference for more information.

  It appears that you have disabled the 'label' for each custom field.

  Please select the field and go voluntarily, as shown in the screenshot.

  

  Please check the 'label' > shoe, this will be you the label to the form field as "Custom", rename it according to your requirement and disable the label again.

  

  Re-upload the site and you should be all set.

  You cannot change the default font to a form field in Indesign. You can change the font in Acrobat by changing the form > by selecting the field properties > appearance > fonts

  You want to allow someone to open your document and fill in the form (the fields that you have created), but not change or edit the form, right? Here is the answer - assuming you use Acrobat Pro and someone will open the PDF with the Acrobat Reader 9 minimum and more:

  Tools > Protection > encrypt< encrypt="" with="">

  Select YES to change security.

  Opens in a new window:

  Do not select NOT open the Document (or will require a password to open the document.)

  SELECT: Permissions (check the box next to ' Restrict editing and printing of the document. ")

  Change the following 2 settings in the drop-down list box:

  Printing allowed: select high resolution

  Changes allowed: select commenting on, fill in the fields on the form and signature of signature fields
  Selected leave: "enable access text for playback devices to screen for people with visual impairments.

  Change password Permissions (insert a password)

  Leave all the other settings alone in 'Options '.

  OK - OK

  Again enter the Permissions password (the one you entered above)

  OK - OK

  Save the PDF file to apply security [notice that (SECURED0 will appear after the title of the document]
