The font substitution is strange in Chrome

I guess it's a browser problem more than anything else but thought post to see if anyone has had a similar result.

Font used on the site is Gill Sans Bold. Customer sees Gill Sans Ultra Bold in Chrome (see screen capture). Pretty awkward looking. Any ideas what to tell them to see correct fonts and reassure their guests from their site do not see this weirdness?

I can replicate this and seems that there is a bug in Chrome that is already reported:

I don't know if this post should go under Distiller Server, but he doesn't know if there is a difference between X Distiller and Distiller Server.

Context: I'm trying to convert postscript on my PC files that come from a single Mac built the program and unfortunately receive the following error message:

%% [Warning: Helvetica not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%
%% [Warning: Helvetica-Bold not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%
%% [Warning: Helvetica-BoldOblique not found, using Font Substitution.] Police cannot be incorporated. ]%%

When I try to convert postscript fonts to PDF in Acrobat Distiller X substitutes in the Arial font. I have a few versions of Helvetica on my PC but Distiller does not recognize them.

My question is: How can I know distill, by default, to substitute for Helvetica loaded on my PC rather than Arial so that I have eliminated the error message and get specific pdf.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

You can use the files in distiller by going to settings.  See these two photos (click on it)

I ' LD would go back, but I have problems with the Blur / Blur fonts on Firefox.

I have create this question, I checked several subjects.
    -Disable HA - results
-Use the Tuner of anti-aliasing - no result
-change gfx.content.azure.enabled etc. - no result

I tried several - stable version, ESR, beta, aurora... still without results.
    Graphics change driver... nothing.

Last option - I compared the fonts in Firefox and Chrome in changing the settings.
Everything is very silimiar, except for one thing - color aliases, see:

In my opinion, this can cause blur and tired eyes.
Is it possible to change this?

I try to compare the text in MS Word or notepad with the browser.
My bad - police in Chrome is not normal... everything that has the same Times New Roman or Arial like Firefox.

  • Display the font vs. font substitution original document

Everything was very good. Then a pop-up Adobe came one day and asked me to set up preferences and I clicked on a bunch of stuff. Now the font that appears on the screen is something other than the font used in the original document, and it is a boring font I can't cope.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC made this substitution of fonts even across all documents, regardless of the original font. And it drives me crazy!

How to change this back to the display of the fonts exactly as in the document itself?

    Thank you very much!

OK I actually found my answer just after I posted this.

In Adobe Acrobat Reader DC under change, click Preferences.

Under rendering: smooth text, select monitor.

This corrects the problem of font substitution.

  • Fonts in the file unreadable flash with Google Chrome

    Hello

I created a flash file, which works fine in all browsers except Google Chrome. In Google Chrome, the fonts become unreadable.

    Please visit this site: www2.segufix.de

I would like to find a solution that does not require the user to take action.

    Could someone help, please?

    Hi Chris,

I understood that maybe half of the discussion, but I tried disabeling the PPAPI Player. Now seems the Flash file.

I do not work around well, because users cannot be expected to disable pluggins in order to correctly see a flash Web site file.

Is there anything that can be done with the file Flash itself, to look good in Chrome? Before you turn off the Player, I noticed that the text looked good, when it was pointed out.

In the meantime, the site became operational. The correct url is now www.segufix.ca

    Hi all

I have a custom report for ERP Oracle 11i. I made a few minor as below:

    -Report mode: bitmap
    -Desformat: PDF
    -Fonts: Courier
    -Font Size: 10-12.

The report presented to the font size 10, once I changed to 12. The text output has been changed to strange characters, just as appeared in a different font. (* if I copy the odd character here, it became beck in character readable, weird).

has anyone encountered this problem and get it resolved before?

  • How to specify the font type and size (in points)

I often cut and paste from Word, Excel, or web pages in e-mail messages in TB. TB often done strange things, which the text is copied in it, making the text bigger or smaller and I can't understand how to change it. While I understand how to change the font (through Format |) (Police), the resize options are limited to the x-small, small, medium, etc. (Screen attached). My goal is to have the text I copy matches the size and font that I use to compose the rest of the email, but I find it almost impossible to do when my only options for size are x-small, small, medium, etc. Any suggestions?

I suggest you paste by using 'paste unformatted' (ctrl + shift + v, or in the edit, or on the context menu) to make any case adopts and adapts to the development shaped by default resident.

Use of the stationery add-on would allow you to define your styles in points, but I think it's misplaced effort. You have no say in what your correspondents to view your messages, what personal preferences that they apply or what limits their devices assert. Try to fix it with explicit sizes is ultimately useless to your correspondents. 'Medium' means that they see the message to the size that they want, not what you inflict on them.

  • I can't go in the settings of fonts. How to change the font size?

I had downloaded the latest version of Firefox and I finished it sync for my Android phone. I went into a kind of dialog box settings and accidentally changed my fonts and text settings and now I can't read any of my Gmail which is in my account on my desktop - it's too small. I'm trying to figure out how I can enter in the content settings (I feel that I do once I have enter the menu 'options' on the content settings page, but I don't know how to bring up the menu of the content/page settings). I use my desktop PC for work and I can't use it with the font settings and how they are now. I also read where the issues are taken, but no one knows how to find the answers to the questions people are asking. How do we get the answers that people give us on the issue, we asked?

I hope you can help me as soon as POSSIBLE, I can change what I as soon as POSSIBLE. I'm working on my pc 24/7 for the work and is not helping me when I can't read the emails and I can't solve the problem.

    Thank you!

    Hi Upset2,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with font sizes in Firefox on your desktop.

Text sizes really small for each Web site you visit, or is it just your emails?
Text sizes are really small on your desktop and Android or only one?

There are several things that could cause your text sizes to seem strange, so I'll take you by a couple.

First of all, your email page could have a zoom. On your PC, could you please try open Gmail and then by clicking on the icon at the top right of your screen that looks like three lines?

This will bring up a new menu and near the top of the menu are three buttons: a minus (-), a percentage (that is to say, he could say 70%) and a plus (+). Please click button percentage - this should Gmail zoom to 100%.

If that doesn't fix it, let's try using the method on your printout. To access the content settings screen, click the button in the top right that looks like three lines. Click on Preferences. A new window will open. Click on the 'Content' button and follow the instructions that you change the font size.

There is another version of the instructions I just gave you, with screenshots, here: font size and zoom - increase the size of web pages

Mozilla Support issues are all handled by volunteers, and at peak hours, there may be a delay. Thanks for your patience!

    I hope this helps.

  • How to change the font on the displayed web pages

We now have a large number of web pages which displays very small, greyish fonts on web pages. Content on a page Web must be at least as important as advertising.

There's a firefox Add on that, with a single click, change the Web page background color and the color of the font to something that is readable. Not just change the font size.

Someone should take it away from those who design the screens to Web pages, the size of the walls, and give the screens, the rest of us can afford to buy and make them to design their pages if you wear glasses with a tinge of gray and slightly blurry and in a room lighting perfect for a screen.

In the meantime, we need a patch to change quickly change font size and color with a single click.

In this case, I think you should concentrate on just the section of the color of the item change the fonts and colors Web sites using I linked above.

  • CONTROL-have more than 2 times to increase the font size on losing him of the screen information

Why when you use the CONTROL + function more than 2 times to increase font size on the screen, you will lose information from text on the screen? This is the reason why I switched to Chrome & Safari as the rest of their content. Whenever you have a new version, I come back to see if you have corrected this, but you never have to go back, I'm going!

Are you using text zoom (Zoom > Zoom text only) or are you zoom the entire page?

You can use an extension to set a page zoom and the size of the default font on the web pages.

  • How can I get Firefox to load the font "Symbol" and "Wingdings"?

My 8.0.1 version doesn't have a 'symbol' or the fonts 'Wingdings' listed and when I visited my html document these characters end up using the Arial font. I have the documents with a lot of less-than-and-equal, more-than-and-equal and a crowd of other symbols, and wingdings characters. IE9 works very well. Chrome has the same problem that Firefox has.

You have not been able to do in Firefox since Firefox 2, and even in this case, you may need to change Firefox, so while you might change your Firefox would not very many Firefox users who could use them.

All the browser support unicode, but all the unicode fonts are not the same size and no machine each of them will not in all fonts. If they are your own documents, you will need to convert yourself. Most of what you need, you can probably obtain directly from this page

If not, you can check the links at the top of this page.

    Kathy {personal info deleted}

    Hey Kathy,.

I see that you have a problem with the text in small font on printed documents.  You say that this only happens when the navigation and printing from the internet.  What browser do you use?  (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, etc.)

Have you tried using another browser?  Normally this problem is the result of a problem of compatibility between the printer driver and the browser program.

So, you can try using a different printer driver, such as the 990 c driver.  The other pilot should be able to go beyond the question of compatibility and printing back to normal when on the internet.  For more information on how to exchange for a different driver click here.

    Hope this helps,
