the incoming mail POP3 server failed all in fixing my Outlook... SSL checked

Original title: failure of the server for incoming mail POP3 then configure my outlook... SSL checked... __i got: incoming mail in mail.gmail.com server information... is this correct...

What version of Outlook are you running?  In Outlook 2010 if you use Setup Automatic to put in place a POP3 client, it can cause you problems, in order to avoid, she's going through the box that allows for a manual set up.

What is the exact error message that you receive in the error box?  It is really useful to know that it offers many clues.

Rather than mail.gmail.com maybe you need pop.gmail.com so take a look at the Gmail site to verify that you are using the correct settings.

  • Mailing address: change the incoming mail server

My servers have changed and I need to add new servers to my Mail application, but I can't change the incoming mail server: the text in the incoming mail server field is light gray and I can't choose or change. I changed the outgoing mail server and I can now send emails, but reception does not work. The incoming mail server is online and it is the same as the outgoing e-mail server.

Can someone help me and tell how to change the incoming mail server?

  • Change the incoming mail server?

My company uses a hosted e-mail service, and I've not found a way to change the incoming mail server, if I can use SSL (criticism for unreliable wifi!).  The SSL certificate raises an error to me every time, and I am sure because "mail.domain.com" eventually returned a real certificate for the actual host name.

I managed to change the outgoing server, but if it is not possible to change the incoming server, it is a major part of Palm oversight and should be corrected immediately.  This phone cannot be taken seriously for a user in a company without it.

  • I can't install Outlook Express, I don't understand what to put in for the incoming mail POP or outgoing server - help please

I have Yahoo Mail but have trouble with Explorer and simply do not know how to check questions for Outlook Express.  How do I know which is my server or I need this pop thing?  I'm with bt internet.com sorry to be so obtuse that my senior moments seem to have become weeks and days!

Although Outlook Express would not be my choice (windows live mail would be) fundamentally he need to go into settings and configure the outgoing server to look for (something like smtpout.bt.internet.com) and the incoming server to get (something like pop.bt.internet.com)

As Richard said that they are specific to your ISP, and you must call for details)

    Good luck

    Hello

    Do the following and check:

    Step 1:

Try to do a Scan of the SFC (System File Checker). The scan will look bad system files and will attempt to fix them, if possible.

    (a) click the Start button.
    (b) type: cmd.exe in the search results.
    (c) right click the cmd.exe file and select 'run as administrator '.
    (d) in the CMD window, type: sfc/scannow and press the Enter key.
    (e) restart and see if that solves the problem.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Step 2:

If the problem persists, you can also scan your computer the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Let us know if it helps.

  • What is the time indicated on the incoming mail? Is - this time of the shipment or the arrival time on my box of reception/ISP server?

I know that if I compose an email from test to myself, while working offline and then send it some time later, when he gets back with me the time indicated is time, he entered my Outbox no time, it has been sent.
I would like to know what time on an incoming third party e-mail represents.
Is this time what was typed to the sender of the Outbox. the actual sending time; the time of arrival at my ISP server or other time?
I would like to know because I am trying to settle a dispute on the time shown on a couple of emails.

I think you need to spend time in the headers of an email.

Time is created when the composer creates the mail. If you want the dates and times of things like arrival at the level of the different sections on the transmission headers to have this information.

CTRL + u indicates the source of the message.

  • In Windows Mail, I need to change the incoming Pop IMAP server info

In Windows Mail, I need to change the server incoming IMAP POP on my existing account info. Windows Mail is not allowing this change. Is it possible to change or should I create a new account?

You need get the settings of your mail server that you do not even mention.
  • After the migration, I set no longer filtering rules, as TB indicates "No available record" - the incoming mails are sorted according to the rules in force in the folder

I had to install a new computer. I moved the profile data as described here. A new folder (just the icon) appeared out of nowhere (it cannot be moved, renamed, deleted, etc.).

When I highlight a message and choose Message-> create message filters, I can't create a rule to move messages to a folder, as the area where I can choose the target folder is grayed and he says: 'no record available", that is not true, I have a lot of files and the existing rules that route incoming messages in the correct files (that have been set before the move).

I can't rule out that this is not related to the move, but to a new version of ThunderBird, because I do not create rules that often.

I use ThunderBird to different e-mail accounts with different providers.

    Hello

    I found the solution.

For some unknown reason, one of my accounts was defective. I noticed that I have does not receive emails from this account and found that he had turned in this ghost file.

After the deletion of this account (and rather to create a new account), I can again create rules as before.

I hope that someone from the developers takes a look on this, it's pretty embarrassing.

  • By clicking on the e-mail address, Server MS exchange dialog box comes up

To any site when I click on an e-mail address, a MS Exhange Server box Monte. How can I fix this so I can send an email?

This could happen because the default internet browser may not be IE and whenever you click an e-mail link, it will appear a dialog box.

In case, your default browser is Firefox, and it is running, you will not face this problem.
But if Firefox is closed, then a dialog box opens to the top whenever you click on an email address.
If this is the problem then, follow this link for troubleshooting tips:
