  In 2014 the CC, it should always be available by opening the window designer CSS > CSS designer to hit Ctrl + Alt + Shift + P and then however it probably isn't as fully functional Panel such as DWCS6.

  For some reason any InDesign doesn't let me create object styles. When I go to create a new object style the new object Style dialog box appears, but when I click on OK nothing appears in the Panel object styles (still empty). I think maybe it's a bug. I use InDesign version CC (2015 - the latest version). Any help would be welcome, thank you.

• Maintenance of the fill colors in styles of character through several documents HAVE

  I'll be very difficult to understand how Adobe Illustrator (CS6) manages styles of characters imported from different AI documents. If I create all styles of characters in a document unique .ai and only use that to in this document, everything works as expected - settings for colors, fonts and typography are maintained in the character style and newly added texts can be quickly style with the character style.

  My trouble starts when I want to re - use character styles in a new document .ai. In the menu style of character, I use the option import the styles of characters from another document, and that they import properly - all styles of work and text style as expected. But then i save & close the document and open it again it notes that character style entries are there, but the fills and strokes are all screwed up - fonts, sizes, typography settings are retained, but with a blue fill styles are suddenly filed with black, or another color.

  So, why is that happening? This occurs even if the nuances associated with character styles are imported to the new document as well. I read that all character styles are based on the 'normal' character style But, I tried a test ensuring that the style of 'normal' character was consistent between the two documents and I've known the issue.

  Kurt - the steps you sketched out in fact held the imported styles intact through several save/re-opening of the document! Thank you. However, other styles of character initially imported but not used at once had the same problem to return the black fill and stoke color.

  So, I guess that the workaround is:

  -import swatches

  -import of character styles

  -make a text for each import object style of character and style it with every style of imported characters that you want to keep intact.

  -copy / paste each text object

  -Save the document.

  Good find on workaround Kurt - I use it without a doubt. I have just a small range of character outside of my plan of work style. What a pain though...

• Selection in the HTML extension list falls to the bottom of the Panel

  I use a selection list in an extension, and when there are a lot of elements in the list, the bottom of the list are outside the lower part of my extension Panel. There is no way to see the elements at the bottom of the list. I can use the arrow down in the area of selection to finally get the items at the bottom, but this is obviously not ideal.

  I know there is no way to control the length of the list in HTML, CSS, etc.

  Is there something that I lack in my manifesto or elsewhere which will cause the list display properly at the top of the Panel and not that it contains?

  Some other messages found around these forums. Looks like it's a bug experienced with Mac HTML panels. Hoping they fix one day.

  I created a panel that is filled with project allowing a user specific information.

  I want to save this information as well as the project and read it again to repopulate the Panel when the project is reloaded.

  Any suggestions on how to do this? Is there a way to save my specific project information in the saved .ai file?

  You'll want to keep it without doubt in the dictionary of the document by using AIDocumentSuite::GetDictionary (). If you are not familiar with dictionaries, learn about them and watch AIDictionary.h. They are fairly easy to use.

  You probably want to just write the information in a document, save and fill initially dependent. To do this, you'll want to notifiers kAIDocumentOpenedNotifier & kAIDocumentWritePreprocessNotifier (in AIDocument.h).

• These small buttons at the bottom of the panels of the Illustrator...

  What the devil are they called?

  I tried to look it up, but I don't know where to start because I don't know the official name for them.  When I created my group I did a CSXSWindowedApplication for reasons of resizing.  When I did I got the little "plateau" at the bottom where the trash can button automatically would be if it were in the layers panel.  I would like to move the buttons I use now in this little sandbox, but I don't know how or what to look for that attempt.  Any tips?  Thank you

  The 'plateau' is called a status bar, and you can add text to show him a few 'status' (i.e. the status = 'Some status')

  If you want to put the buttons at the bottom of your Panel, you'll probably want to hide the status bar:

  ShowStatusBar is kept = "false".

  The buttons must be regularly buttons at the bottom of your swf file. If your Panel is resizable, you leave about 20 pixels for the resizing handle.

  Quick fix:

  Right-click / CTRL-click (to get the context menu) on the first line of the second number list and select Restart numbering from the list of options.

  Repeat as needed for the following lists.

  Thanks for the information.  I just downloaded and installed Microsoft Steady State 2.5 to see what you are taling about (although I don't really need the program in my situation, but I didn't know it even existed and I Koe case where something like this could help someone tha more the solution I provided so thank you to knowledge - just because I spend a lot of time on this Forum do me not to the) current all Microsoft products as he proves it).

  Now I see what you mean by alternative connection model and see how it varies what offers Vista. Vista has no way to change the screen to look like this - it can only use the very limited options he has available.

  Check out Stardiock to http://www.stardock.com/products/logonstudio/ , where you have a certain number of options of choice login screen (and links to hundreds more on the web).  I don't know if the one you want is one of those that are available, but it could be (and you can even find one that you like even better).  Reading further, this may just change the background of the connection - not the best so it may not apply in your situation (but I could be wrong). Frankly, I don't have the time to download and get it myself - but if you want to try, feel free to do so.

  To change the style of logon to the old style used by the previous operating systems, follow these steps:

  -Click Start
  -Click on Control Panel
  -Click on system and Maintenance
  -Click on Administrative Tools
  -Double click on local security policy
  -In the left pane, click the triangle next to local policy
  -In the left pane, click Security Options
  -In the right pane, double-click on "Interactive logon: do not display the last."

  -Click on active and then OK

  I spent 2 hours looking for options, but I can't find those that match what you want (or any way to actually change the style if Logon Studio doesn't do the trick.  I checked the registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem\\\ entries, but could find no option to create the image that you are looking for (even if it can adjust the style of the screen in different ways).  If you decide to try this, make sure you first create a restore point and back up the registry just in case.

  I'm sorry, but I can't find what you want and I don't honestly think that it is available, even if a 3rd party product.

  As Brian wrote: there is a limit of 5000 alarms in this dashboard. That is up to 5000 alarms can be listed in the dashboard of the alarms.

  There is also a limit of 10000 alarms in Foglight.

  The number of alarms in Foglight can affect the load of dashboard of the times (like most display alarm number of dashboard).  We generally recommend to our clients to manage their alarms tighter when you have several alarms, it becomes difficult to see what is happening in your environment.

  I strongly advise you to get our Professional Services organization involved to help control the number of alarms raised.  This is usually obtained by analyzing the alarms and examining their utility (in your environment) and the thresholds used for alarms, as these tend to require development to meet your specific needs.

  Can you tell us why you have so many alarms? (I mean: what kind of alarms are you see?)  They come from the multiple laws of gravity that disengage automatically or several simple rules that do not, such as the database of the journal entries of the database alerts alarms considered that does not auto-clear?)

  The number of alarms increased recently, or were there sustained growth (not driven by an increase in the number of monitored things)?

  Of course, if your client you can replenish with the image without any lettering above, you will be able to place it in your InDesign document and add lettering here - well the best way to work. So if you have printed by commercial litho, you provide your printer with a PDF to the specification given by your printer. If you don't have this information, export your InDesign document using the Acrobat PDF presets and selectiog PDF / X - 4, which is the best way to convert your doc in CMYK.

• Replace the Panel of e/s on Presario SR5310F

  I have a desktop Presario SR5310F of a handicapped with a panel of IO before damaged friend.  There was a USB unit plugged into the front panel and the cord was tripped and pulled on the hard side.  Both USB ports are damaged and headphones and speaker inputs are also (on the same panel).

  HP part number is 5070-2909.  HP parts store has listed online, but it is not available on order.  (I checked with 'resellers' HP recommends for the part but can't find it.)  I called the HP parts store and they told me they could find a product that is 'comparable' to me, but then I went to a foreign expert who said that he was unable to understand what I wanted to order.  I guess the HP part number, part name HP, model of computer, s/n (3 times), was much too much information.

  There are rear USB ports, and I can route an extension to the front for him, but I would like to replace the Panel if possible.  A search of this part product on the internet, ebay, etc does not work.  Thanks for any help.

• How to create the paragraph style

  Hi guys

  We create a teaching manual in line with the definitions in the glossary. Our advertising design definitions are indented text and a colored bar on the left hand side to highlight the definition. The bar should automatically resize if the text wraps to a new line. We cannot think of a way to create this as an object or paragraph style in Indesign CS5. We would appreciate really a few ideas on how to do

  InDesign has unfortunately no feature to allow a rule to scale depending on the height of a paragraph. You could use a very short, very thick section NET and a style for each length of line for your definitions. This will mean proofing text in order to ensure the right model is used throughout. The text, the width of the column or the editing style can easily cause the number of lines to change in several paragraphs, proofing will be crucial. This method will also depend on the width of a coherent column. If the width of the column varies somewhat, new styles will be necessary.

  You can also use a picture for your definitions. Add a column beside the column of main text for bars, makes it as close as you want the bars to be, then fill it with the color of the line. That the text grows or shrinks, the line height is more or less narrow, forcing the line to keep to the desired height. Place text will be more difficult that way, but adjourned for lengths of line won't be necessary.

• Lettering is crushed & missing in the panels library & Print in LR 2.5

  New download LR 2.5 on a Mac with 10.4.11 has some problems with the lettering as shown in this menu drop-down panel print. Similar to the library panel. In addition, a number of words on these two panels is missing characters: profile shows like greaser - sometimes with condensed spaces as indicated at the bottom of the first screen shot.

  

  Sometimes the letters disappear just like in this picture:

  

  Anyone else having this? It does not affect the operation, but the drop down menus are useless this way!
