The installer disc will not load?

When I insert the installation disc in my iMac, it stays (no load) for 10-15 seconds, then auto-éjecte. The first time this happened, I assumed it was a bad drive and got a replacement. However, it happens with the replacement drive as well. I installed other software by disk successfully, recently, including an upgrade to Photoshop and does not know why the computer keeps rejecting Lightroom.

I tried to reboot in safe boot mode and same thing.

Any ideas how to get my computer accepts the CD so I can install the program? Thank you!

The trial version is not the full version. I know I downloaded it yesterday and it is 67MB. The full version is 198MB and I know because I planned to buy it after trying the demo version of LR 2. This was also confirmed by a salesperson at Adobe.

Danis has it right. The trial is the full version. Try to delete the prefs file. pointers to it are in the FAQ. See resolve system errors or freezes in Photoshop Lightroom and Photoshop Lightroom 'Préférences' and ' database/catalogue'?.

  • Inspiron 1525 / Windows Vista replaced but disc will not load the drivers

Inspiron 1525 (6/2008) hard drive failed.    Bought a Western Digital spare hard drive 500G (WD Blue) SATA III 5400 RPM.   (NOTE: this is the 2nd replacement hard drive because I bought the 1525... the first time I replaced the hard drive, everything worked as it should.) Original hard drive was a Seagate).

Replacement hard drive installation is installed it will not load the Vista OS from the disk to the operating system (which came with the laptop) because it does not recognize the driver for the hard disk.

I tried downloading the latest drivers from the Dell site, but which did not work or the other.

As I said, the previous hard drive replacement (an another western digital) works perfectly when I reinstalled the Vista operating system in 2010.

    Any ideas?

Thanks for the detailed instructions.   I tried everything, but it didn't work.

Then I read about someone trying to install the same on an Inspiron 1545 hard drive and need to adjust the drive to align with the connectors using paper and another person was using the foil which made me realize that it was a problem of 'size' or 'worthy '. I then decided to open the laptop and manually set the new drive in place and everything works now. (Dell 1525 has a side load drive holder therefore had to open to make this setting correctly).  The player on the 1525 is 9.5 mm thick, but the new disc is 7 mm... even though the sales page for this player said he would fit a 9.5 mm slot.

    Everything is good now.

I get the same message continuously when I am bootcamp Windows 7 on my iMac mid 2010.

I have read through the other threads here and searched online and nothing that I don't seem to make any difference.

I have a iso, tried to burn on an external drive and a FAT format USB key.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

I understand from your post, that you have a problem installing Windows 7 on iMac (21.5 inch, mid 2010). I use Boot Camp dual-boot my system as well, so I know that it is important we have this installation problem solved. I have several things for you to try.

First of all, it's a good idea to make sure you have a recent backup of important data from your iMac. The article below will help ensure that you have a recent backup:

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Then, I see you are using Mac OS 10.6.6. Let us make sure that you have the latest version of the software installed for this OS (10.6.8). Please try to update by following this path: Apple menu > software update.

Finally, it is important to respect the requirements and installation steps to install Windows 7 and older versions on your Mac with Boot Camp. The installation steps are unique depending on whether it is a new installation of Windows 7 or an upgrade installation of Windows 7.

Perform a new installation of Windows 7

Follow these steps if you install Windows 7 on your Mac for the first time.

    1. Start your Mac in OS X.
    2. Use the tables at the end of this article to make sure that you have a Mac that takes in charge the version of Windows that you are installing.
    3. If your copy of Windows 7 has come on a DVD, create a disk image of the installation disc for use with Boot Camp.
    4. Connect a 16 GB or more large USB flash drive you want to erase. Leave this connected to your Mac, flash player until the Windows installation completed.
    5. Open Boot Camp Assistant in the Utilities folder (or use Spotlight to find it) and click on continue.
    6. Select only the options to create a Windows Setup disk and download the latest version of Windows software Apple support. Then click on continue.
    7. Insert your Windows installation disc, or choose your ISO Windows installation, then click on continue. Boot Camp erases your USB and he prepares for the installation of Windows. Once the flash player is prepared, close the Boot Camp Assistant window to exit the application.
    8. Use the tables at the end of this article to find that Windows supports the software (drivers) you need for the version of Windows and the Mac you're using.
    9. Click on the link in the table to download related software.
    10. Once the file is downloaded, double-click it in the Finder to decompress (unzip) it.
    11. Open the folder that results. Look for the following files in this folder and drag them to your USB Flash drive. When you are prompted if you want to replace the existing items on the flash drive, click Yes.

      $WinPEDriver$ (file)
      AutoUnattend.xml
      BootCamp (folder)

    12. Open the Boot Camp Assistant again, and then click on continue.
    13. Only select the option "Install Windows... or later."

  • Click on install, and then follow the prompts on the screen to re-partition your hard drive and install Windows.
  • When you have completed the wizard, your Mac restarts with Windows Setup. When you are asked where you want to install Windows, select the BOOTCAMP partition, then click on drive Options and format your Boot Camp partition.
  • Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the installation of Windows.
  • Perform an upgrade of Windows 7 installation or an earlier version

You can upgrade to the existing installations of Windows XP or Vista to Windows 7. You need at least 10 GB of free space on your Windows partition.

    1. Start your Mac in OS X.
    2. Use the tables at the end of this article to make sure that you have a Mac that takes in charge the version of Windows that you are installing.
    3. Download software support for Windows (drivers) bound to the table, or locate the OS X Install or the restore disc supplied with your Mac so rated.
    4. Decompress (unzip) download it and place it on a USB drive formatted in FAT (MS-DOS). Let this flash drive connected to your Mac during installation.
    5. Start your Mac from the version of Windows that you currently have installed.
    6. Use the Windows Installer to upgrade to Windows.
    7. After Windows Setup is complete, your Mac starts in Windows. In Windows, open the file "BootCamp.exe" on your USB stick or the installation disc supplied with your Mac. Follow the prompts on the screen to install the related drivers for your Mac.

After the driver installation is complete, connect to Windows to start using it on your Mac.

    Have a great day!

  • Why my CS Design Standard 5.5 disc will not load so I can get the installation instructions?

I recently had to take my computer out of the box state. I now try to give CS 5.5 on it with the disc. I put the disc in and it makes noise but nothing ever comes with a screen prompt to run the disk. How can I get that back on my computer? I run windows 7. Thanks for any help... Am frustrated because I just put lightroom and it went smoothly.

Open windows Explorer, locate the Setup.exe file in the disc and double-click it to begin the installation.

  • Damaged installation disc will not read on the pc, on which I want to install, but it will read on my laptop. Can and how make a copy using my laptop and then install it on my desktop?

I tried a lot of different options and can still seem to get anything to boot to my desktop. The disc takes a bit to pull up all the folders/files from my laptop, but once it did I copied everything that took about an hour but worked. The drive has made a crack from the Center out to halfway. I'm wondering how to set it up to burn, boot and install again on my old desktop? I have been at this for about year try different steps. To please any tip or advice would be great. Thank you!!

  • Using a Vista laptop, connects to the internet, but will not load page. DNS problem.

    Hello.

I use a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.

I just have a modem and use a router. I have a network cable (cat 5) connected to my laptop and the modem. I have log-on internet and it connects. But when I open Google Chrome, IE9 or Firefox I can not load a web page. Google mentions something about the DNS cannot be found and DNS_Probe_Finished_No Internet.Frefox says server not found.

I click on the Menu start - Connect To - I am logged in. I already typed my password in the command prompt and appropriate the pppoe connection/address (I use ADSL).

I talked to my ISP and we tried to do certain things. But nothing works. On their end, it shows that I am connected. But I can't browse the internet. We tried to have the DNS and IP address for ipv4 set to obtain automatically and I put 2 numbers of DNS in manually once the settings have been changed to the favorite servers and DNS auxiliary, or worked.

Using command prompt, the DNS has been emptied. It did not help. The modem has been reset the ISP location. I also recreated and set up a new network connection.

My office is using the same pppoe information. I can freely browse the internet and I use Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit. I was also shown to be connected simultaneously with both machines, but that the Office can go.

I do not have Windows Update the laptop since on April 2016. It has not been used and the battery was empty. I tried to turn off the laptop several times, but nothing works.

System Restore worked. I will run the updates and see what happens.

I think it was a program that I uninstalled in programs and features.
