  The problem has been fixed (I think) but in a most unusual way. Let me explain.

  When I was closing down to give the computer a rest yesterday, there was a pop up saying that vprotector expected to close. He really wanted the process of closing until I clicked on finish the process. Curious to know what vprotector is, I searched on the net and got a lot of shots, saying: it is a virus and should be deleted pronto. So I searched the hard drive for the vprot. * and found in the folder program files for AVG!

  I then went to AVG to see if it's really a part of AVG and they said yes. If there is a problem with vprot, the toolbar is at fault and needs to be reinstalled. There was one click here to download and run the part of the program to fix the problem. However, I had WebRoot antivirus running that stopped the download of this program as a virus. Because I trust AVG, I've disabled WebRoot and reinstalled the AVG search bar.

  I haven't restarted WebRoot and computer flying along as it should, and OE is the link to IE when I click on a link as it has always done.

  Seems to me to be the faulty AVG toolbar and a cross with two virus programs upward was at fault. Thank you for your time. Your reply gave me a chance to think differently this problem could arise.

  Computers are really complicated machines and we have to be complicated to deal with their problems.

  Try a system restore to a Date before the problem began:

  I installed Cygwin and Cygwin-x, which opens an Xwindows server to display graphics for a program I am writing. Unfortunately, when the xWindows terminal window appears, the letter 'g' starts to get typed, without input from me I have restarted my computer several times and reinstalled Cygwin, but the problem has not disappeared, so I suspect it has something to do with Windows itself. The ghost 'g's only appear in this context, not as long as any other program is running, so I don't think that the key on the keyboard is broken. Do you know any solution for this?   I have an annoying problem that I can not get rid. I have 2 hard disks that are exactly the same, just the second was purchased later.

  I used one with the letter F: until one day I connected the secondary hard drive. Since that day, my first hard drive has changed his letter. I did 2 things:

  (1) I tried to go to the computer, disk management, changed the letter but F: wasn't available.

  (2) delete \DosDevices\F: in MountedDevices using the registry editor, as explained here.

  But when I restart the computer, F: / is still not available and \DosDevices\F: still exists.

  What can I do?

  This is a fun one. drawText() can paint the letter 'f' when you use BBAlpha font.

  I expanded a field class to create a simple banner with the following code. This will display "abcde gh" when you use 'Without BBAlpha' or "BBAlpha Serif" as default system font.   No "BBAlpa" fonts do not have this problem, they don't make the lowercase "f".

  Looks like the letter 'f' is probably greater than the reported advance and therefore exceeds the projected width. My guess is he gets clipped. A factor adding little fudge does appear...
