• Attempt to run the audio in Captivate PlayBar

  I'm looking to set a bar of audio playback of swf in a Captivate slide. This would allow users to play audio repeatedly within the same blade. The slide in Captivate will not have a PlayBar at the bottom of this one.
  
  I tried to make a SWF with embedded audio and reading bar using Flash MX. The SWF works fine when played its own. Playback (play, pause, rewind) in the bar controls work fine, too. However, whenever I try to insert it into Captivate 3 slide (as a swf animation), I get an error message that indicates:

  That works fine? It's just the controls that do not appear? Paths get all the
  abut on when back in Captivate, there are now has more layers on
  top of the SWF that you imported. So, if the controls are referenced by
  anything that relies on an external path, it is possible that the path is
  now evil. It may be useful for research on the message forum with
  something like "_root._root" for examples of how others have handled this...

  The buttons on the PlayBar to HTML5 is prioritized in the javascript code for Captivate - in CPM.js in the published course content.  The function in question is cp. PB.playBarConstruct.prototype.layoutPlaybar - I replaced this function before in order to establish an order of the various buttons, but it is necessary to examine the code to gain some understanding of what he does.  The code can be substituted in the javascript code for the playback bar to avoid changing the code base of Captivate directly, which is difficult as Adobe no longer provides access to as it is embedded in one of their DLL libraries until it is used in the edition.  Alternatively the code can be corrected, after publication.  It would be useful for Adobe to provide more free and/or documentation about some of this code to allow customers to more easily innovate project-specific improvements.  This became the case largely over the years with Flash, for example with open-sourcing a lot of actionscript libraries and automation using JSX/JSFL.  I hope to calm down the paranoia about competitors and they will realize that being more open is only used to make their products more attractive to developers.  Of course, I say that competition is not better in this regard.  Other things I've done using patch / replaces the time codes of AS3 PlayBar and the HTML5 playback bar are:

  -Added extra buttons

  -Modification of the functionality of the existing buttons

  Adobe staff contacted me me and help solve the problem.

  Apparently, the problem is a bug in the 32-bit version of chrome, I was using. So I had to upgrade to the 64-bit version of chrome and the PlayBar colors now seems to be Ok.

• The taskbar buttons reading quit working in the middle of Captivate 8 courses

  Version: Captivate 8

  I created a new class of a PowerPoint presentation.  In the window of "Convert" in the field "Advance Slide", I chose "on mouse click".

  It is a course of 51-slide and I've not yet added audio.

  On each slide, I deleted the box great click coming from the PowerPoint, and I replaced it with a small hidden click box, that I use to keep the slide to move forward until the learner clicks on the next button on the playback bar. I used the PlayBar Dove with these buttons:

  • Rewind
  • Previous
  • Forward
  • Legend closed

  Problem: In preview mode the bars reading and other interactive items stop working on slide 37. On slide 37 and beyond, none of the buttons on the playback bar works. In addition, slide 47, I have a few interactive buttons that also don't work; in fact, the pointing hand isn't even on the button.

  We have corrected the problem, it seems. We did several things:

  -Removal of the hyperlinks in the PPTX bring before the app PPT and pptx saved updated.

  Note: these blades with links launched on slide 38 and 39 - right after the problematic slide 37, who froze in the preview of Captivate.

  -Closed the app PPT. Also, turn off the PC.

  -Done app PPT has NOT been opened when you do the Captivate - generate the new course of procedure PPT. And used these settings:

• After a crash during the installation of Captivate, the installer does not "initialize" and the installation process stops. Any suggestion?

  I bought a few days ago from "Captivate". I received the Web address to download the program and the activation number. I downloaded the program (OK), began the installation program (OK) and has received indications that the decompression process was OK. Then the installation has begun, and I was asked to introduce the activation number (OK). After that, a bar showing the progress of the installation was shown on the screen. The bar stops at 2%.   • Disable the startup items. (Ms config)
  • Rename the the below mentioned location OOBE folder.
  • Windows: C > Program files or program (x 86) > common files > Adobe > OOBE and rename the folder in OOBE as (OOBE_old).
  • Uninstall Adobe Captivate 8 components manually from the machine. Manually remove all the files Adobe Captivate and records. You can check the following locations.

  I am using the branching feature in Captivate 5.5.  I use the reading bar control to allow users to navigate through the course.  Each slide is configured with a click box to pause the slide, forcing users to click on the next button on the playback bar to scroll through the course.

  The ramification of the feature cannot be used with the automatic navigation (timed navigation)?  I really hope I'm missing something simple just to allow the connection to work properly.  Currently, the logic of branch is completely ignored I click in the course.

  The ramification is on interactivity. So she requires that the user is interacting with the course somehow and that it not be a variety of responses required under what they do.

• Aggregator cut the PlayBar

  Some problems with aggregator:

  1. When I publish to the aggregator, the PlayBar at the bottom of my slides is partially cut off.
  2. In the various modules, the HTML background is set to a dark gray. In the aggregator, the background is white.
  3. The project is 800 x 600, but when the aggregator project is displayed in the browser it is several large only.

  It seems that Adobe has removed the

  Tags that were inside of thetags in the HTM code.  This is probably why the content of your project is now sitting to the top in the upper left corner.

  The

  tag has been deprecated in the HTML code in any case and a better way to control this would now be via the JS or CSS code.  You can insert CSS code in the HTM model in the folder models of install directory.  Aggregator is probably just using standard.htm model.  (I've never bothered to know who he was.)

  In theory, you SHOULD should not change the background color in the template, because it is supposed to take the place of the user of Captivate interface.  But I seem to remember what is still one of these bugs for a long time that Adobe has never been processed (despite her for years to come.  (Can't see Cp6 right now on my work computer so I do not know if it is now fixed.)

  The question is not so much what you CAN do with buttons in Captivate to replace the PlayBar, but what one MUST do one way or the other.

  It must be remembered as it is currently impossible to add interactive objects such as buttons to master slides or quiz question slides. So if you do not create your own playback bar customized with all the keys you need, you will end up having to replicate the same button, set each slide of your project, which is a lot of buttons to maintain. But then when you get to your quiz slides, you will not be able to add same buttons here.

  So if you have the resources to customize your own reading bar, which seems to be the best option from a perspective of low maintenance.

• FLV window remains on the other slides (Captivate 3)

  I'm having a problem with my Captivate 3 project with a progressively downloaded flv on the first slide, which is synchronized with the games project and auto. When I go to the next slide (maybe using the button 'next' in the PlayBar, or if she auto-sauts to the next slide at the end of the current slide), it leaves a white box instead the flv video file which is in front of all other slides in content and there's the rest of the project.

  Briefly, I came across this program in a recent project.  Like all things Captivate, I wrote to chalk it up to one of its eccentric bugs.  And like most of its bugs, there is sometimes no explain, and you're lucky if she goes with simple re-publishing/rendering of the slide.  The things that I tried were a) reimport and republish b) change the duration of the video to 'play the video full' to 'play during a specific time.  A combination of these two made disappear...

• Animate the file in Captivate works on Mac but not Windows. Why?

  I built a custom ToolTip rollover in edge animate and then imported the .oam file into Captivate. I chose this path because the end result of the lesson of Captivate is HTML5 and bed in Captivate training balloon interaction works with a .swf output. So I wanted the animation fantasy effect

  Here's the thing. The ToolTip works and works beautifully on my Mac when you view the file Captivate output in the browser Chrome or Safari. When you try to view the same Captivate file into Chrome, Firefox or IE on a Windows operating system, it is a complete failure. Why is this? This is important because I'm working on a hybrid team where there is a mix of OS X and Windows operating system, and there is not to say the variety of the OS which will be used to interact with my lessons of Captivate.
