The model layers performance issues

Hello

First my characteristics:

Illustrator CC version was last updated (2015.something I think)

running on Mac OS X El Capitan

iMac mid 2011 3, 4 GHz i7/32 GB of Ram (although I doubt that this has nothing to do with the material)

I'm working on an infographic to release magazine feel that I can't show you at this point, but it looks like this:

a map of a country with some areas filled with a fairly simple pattern that I created with Illustrator Pattern-tool (object/model)

which is not really more than a line stretch (just like this http://www.clipartkid.com/pinstripe-diagonal-pattern-clip-art-selhyu-clipart/ ).

So, I guess this could be one of the most basic reasons, there might be and the entire file is about 5.8 MB big, which is not a big deal I guess.

BUT somehow the print file resulting makes problems.

1 make it inside Illustrator runs slower. No dealbreaking slow, but significant.

2. I can create a PDF file, but if I open with the software overview of the Mac OS, most of the time works or not is the loading for ever (so throw the illustration in a mail the Mail app makes it unusable because of that). If I open it with Acrobat, it seems to work quite OK.

3. export EPS (which prefer my designer) finds herself in a loading screen which takes forever and Illustrator devours Ram of the computer (I can watch the Ram usage of the growing Illustrator for anything up to 32 GB then crash).

4. get the designer, who works on a PC, but it wouldn't reall ymatter, to work with the PDF file works until she tries to create a printable package. This process would break all his complete system.

And all this only happens with these patterns of lines which I don't quite understand. If I get out them of the design, everything works perfectly fine.

I'm at the end of a production of magazines, then, probably, I won't get it the answer just in time, assuming that there will not be a solution posted in the next 2 hours, here now, just do all the lines manually, which is certainly a ridiclous as this model creator is made just for that. But at this point I can't really experiment. So this question is more for me to understand what happened as I don would like to completely renounce such a basic feature.

Thanks guys,.

Val

What is the form that you filled with this model?

Is there transparent areas that just overlap the model?

What happens when you select objects with the filling of model and then object > Expand before exporting?

In case this is a great shape he could also contribute to do a larger repetition and contains already more stripes.

  • HP Elitebook 8570p - Windows XP USB very slow and the transfer rate performance issues.

Hello. I was wondering if anyone else knows some performance issues with the HP Elitebook 8570p and Windows XP Pro - SP3.

I get a VERY slow start, general poor performance (waiting time when opening files and programs).

I asked to burn in tests that show that everything is good.

USB transfer rates are VERY slow (tried all ports of a Seagate FreeAgent USB drive, which works fine on other laptops etc.) for example a 30-minute transfer a 7gig single file of the USB HD on the desktop. Only 3 minutes to do the same on another laptop.

I think there are problems with the drivers, like Windows 7 works very well and does boot from a bootable USB.

USB transfer rate are also good when starting from a Windows boot environment.

I installed HP SoftPaq Download Manager, and all the drivers are up to date.

    Hello:

I think outside of the box here... Select the Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller instead.

If it does not, I raise the white flag.

  • Pages export to Word using the model of NEWSLETTER, issue 1 of page spacing

QUESTION: Anyone know if model NEWSLETTER (and or Museum Brochure) correctly export to .docx and how delete images or change the text boxes using these models so that I am still able to export properly?

I used the NEWSLETTER model, whose Pages can export to .docx and then import to .docx (I don't know if that Word can do, but Pages indicates it would be).

Problem: after the header of the newsletter, I removed the photo and have floating only the areas of text underneath.  I have two pages, the 2nd page export perfect (a page break separates it from the first).  On the first page, there are 12 small boxes in two columns under the heading who generously and easily fit on the first page.  It is not unlike the model I have, however, but with no photos.  I've seen many templates use these 'boxes' in support of the columns of text on a page, I don't think the floating box would be a problem.  However, I like the wish of floating boxes to learn how to use them so that they "work".

I saw immediately that the text boxes, I added, when export and imported .docx, lose their place and float under the heading (NEWSLETTER) (superimposed text, bad page layout).

I noticed the paragraph (carriage return, Enter) symbols, while I moved around text boxes, had become interlaced between the boxes, but not all - 1/2 at the bottom of page.  I then noticed that attempt to remove the superfluous paragraph runs in .pages (after repositioning all the boxes), but aggravated .docx, also the Pages do not leave even to remove the first symbol (it mystifies me, because the models do not appear to use paragraph at all except inside the floating boxes).

Finally, I added enough symbols paragraph so that there was a conflict between each text box, but not as much as Word decide to add a blank page.  I had to make sure the columns are too wide - they should be 1/4 "part we will tell.  THAT APPEARED TO WORK.  Pages exported and imported it point by point I was happy.

But when my Advisor job achieved and open in Word (the one for Windows 7), the SAME problem, I had before setting the transport returns appeared: the two decoders or four are overlapping the title, and set the person must have inserted transport returns before the first text box to move it all down (which seemed to work - but failed as an export and no not to use practice later).  'good work '.  Fortunately, I also have attatched a PDF export, however the person had asked to change their PLU using high government dell.

QUESTION: Anyone know if model NEWSLETTER (and or Museum Brochure) correctly export to .docx and how delete images or change the text boxes using these models so that I am still able to export properly?

Thank you hope that your next print job loose its staples.

Well, we have said for years in this community if you want stressless, architecture native document exchange with Windows Word users that you need to use the most recent Word available on the Mac.

Pages is not a clone of Word, and Apple does not guarantee that the open translation process / export from/to the architecture of document Word will remain faithful to the original of the document formatted.

    In response to your questions:

    1. If you have document objects in a model with x on their border, and then the object is locked. You visit the tab Pages to reorganize v5, and downstairs you can unlock these objects for further editing, or deletion.
    2. It is advice that we can give here will make sure Pages exports specifically to the word he already did not. The logic of translation is connected to demand, and it is the price of roulette.
    3. Continue the first paragraph.
  • Performance issues HTML Article in the Adobe Viewer on iPad

I created an HTML Article using DPS, but when I get to post it on the Adobe in iPad viewer content does not scroll smoothly and the content is cut and cropped (the entire page is not displayed), it is very judery and struggles to make the HTML below "the fold" so to speak.

I tried two import HTML options in DPS and both have the same isuues of performance/gal.

I have a video in my HTML code, which seemed to be causing a problem where the video streaming was struggling to be pulled through, so I have treid YouTube and Vimeo video streaming and performance/display problem is not resolved. I then tried embbeding a mp4 directly using HTML5 to see if it was a connection/band bandwidth issue and the problem persists. However the videos play, it's just the fact that the container is cropped in half.

Sometimes the HTML item makes it, but then when you scan save the page he struggles to render the above content? Also, then when drag you to the bottom of the page content is also cultivated that was visible before?

I went through every discussion available on the Adobe community and other resources, but all of the mentioned patches have no effect.

If anyone can help or knows the same problems any advise would be welcome.

Article HTML contains some JS too, it is not working properly, but I was wondering if JS causes problems? Just a thought.

Well, I think I can find the answer so I thought I would share with the community incase anyone who knows the same type of questions.

After testing another piece of HTML that also included the video in streaming and JavaScript heavy, I have narrowed the question to my JS. I had two Nivo Slider carousels which were the road to performance issues.

The other test HTML Article scrolls smoothly and video shoots as expected, although from time to time there is a slight delay in the page to scroll up and down, but it's barely noticeable.

I hope it can be useful to others in the future?

  • Performance issue with the submodels

    Hello
I'm working on submodels and my requirement needs only one main calling location several specific submodels (a location may have several own submodels, e.g.: US_subtemp1, US_subtemp2, US_subtemp3... in the same way to other locations).
I would like to know is there any performance issue associated with calls in the submodels and on how this decrease in performance can be minimized.

    Kind regards
    Arvind

Use of the submodels with components imported alongside repeated sections in the main template layout is not recommended when the number of repetitions is high and the size of the document is large. BI Publisher optimize the xsl transformation internally, but it is not applied to xsl inside models of void.
One of the extreme scenario is a main model set only a repeating section that matter a submodel of the header and the footer.
A body of the repeating section is defined in the subtemplate. In this scenario, there is no xsl optimization made and you can easily see some differences in performance.

As long as you don't need to repeat the layouts of submodels, you don't need to worry about this performance issue.

    Thank you
    Shinji

  • Performance issues because I don't have any volume in my system after you have removed the infected files

I have a few files that were infected so I deleted them. Now, I don't have any what volume in my system please help or direct me to a program that I have to reinstall thanks in advance!

You will need to tell us more about your system and exactly what "I have no volume on my system" means.

Unfortunately, the implementation of MS Answers forums does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, so we don't know anything on your system.

Not knowing the basic informations of a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues, but that's the way they choose to turn things around here.

Thank you owners MS Answers, continue to make solving simple problems as frustrating and a lot of time as possible.

Please answer the following questions, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

If you have a Dell computer, what is the Service tag?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, avast! Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, Comodo, PC Tools, etc.

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If you get an error message, what he said (exactly)?

What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

What do not you think that you should see?

Do you mean that your system does not any sound at all or do you mean that no longer see the volume control icon in the Notification area (to the left of the clock in the taskbar system)?

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    Msinfo32

Click OK, and when the system info summary appears, click on edit, select all (Ctrl-A), copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.

For information about the audio drivers, expand components, click Sound Device, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.

There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.

If you look in Control Panel under sounds and Audio devices and uncheck/check the volume icon to Place in the taskbar and click on apply, you see a message like this:

What do you see iif you click on start, run and in the type box:

    c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe

  • Performance-to-many problem (using the model of the FAQ)

After reading "HOW TO: post a request for tuning SQL - model showing statement" I gathered:

I have included some general information at the bottom of the post

The following SQL statement has been identified as a bad performance. It takes ~ 160 seconds to run, but similar (indicated below first statement) SQL statements run in ~ 1 second.

    SQL taking 160 seconds:
    SELECT
    a.*
    FROM
    table_a a
    INNER JOIN table_a_b ab ON a.id = ab.media_fk
    WHERE
    ab.channel_fk IN (7, 1);
SQL in ~ 1 second or less
    ...
    ab.channel_fk IN (7);
    Or:
    ...
    ab.channel_fk IN (6, 9, 170, 89);
The purpose of the SQL is to return lines from table_a associated table_b (not in SQL) through the junction table table_a_b.

The version of the database is 10.2.0.4.0

    H3. Backgroud

There are many years my company made decided to maintain many-to-many relationships in our database using pipe delimited fields. An example of field value:
    '|ABC|XYZ|VTR|DVD|'
Each delimited value refers to a unique "short" code TABLE_B (there is also a real digital foreign key to TABLE_B, which is what I use in the junction table). We are regularly using these columns with the next SQL style:
    ...
    WHERE
    INSTR(pipedcolumn, '|ABC|') > 0
    OR INSTR(pipedcolumn, '|XYZ|' > 0
    ...
Appropriate indexes have been created over the years to make this process as soon a possible.

We now have an opportunity to correct some of these errors of design and implementation of junction tables to replace the current field. Before that, we have decided to take a copy of a database to a client with the largest set of records and test. I created a new junction table:
    TABLE_A_B DDL:

        CREATE TABLE TABLE_A_B (
            media_fk NUMBER,
            channel_fk NUMBER,
            PRIMARY KEY (media_fk, channel_fk),
FOREIGN KEY (media_fk) REFERENCES TABLE_A (ID),
FOREIGN KEY (channel_fk) REFERENCES TABLE_B (ID)
        ) ORGANIZATION INDEX COMPRESS;

        CREATE INDEX C_M_INDEX ON TABLE_A_B (channel_fk, media_fk) COMPRESS;
And the analysis on a pipe delimited field, populated by this new table.

I then compared the performance of the following SQL:
    SELECT
    a.*
    FROM
    table_a a
    INNER JOIN table_a_b ab ON a.id = ab.media_fk
    WHERE
    ab.channel_fk IN (x, y, n); -- Can be Many Minutes

    --vs.

    SELECT
    a.*
    FROM
    table_a a
    WHERE
    INSTR(OWNERS,'|x|')    >0
    OR INSTR(OWNERS,'|y|')    >0
    OR INSTR(OWNERS,'|n|')    >0; -- About 1 second seemingly regardless
When x, y, n are values that occur less frequently in the TABLE_A_B.CHANNEL_FK performance are comparable. However once the frequency of x, y, n increases, performance suffers. Here is a summary of the data CHANNEL_FK in TABLE_A_B:
    --SQL For Summary Data
    SELECT channel_fk, count(channel_fk) FROM table_a_b GROUP BY channel_fk ORDER BY COUNT(channel_fk) DESC;

    CHANNEL_FK             COUNT(CHANNEL_FK)
    ---------------------- ----------------------
    7                      780741
    1                      555407
    2                      422493
    3                      189493
    169                    144663
    9                      79457
    6                      53051
    171                    28401
    170                    19857
    49                     12603
    ...
    I noticed that whenever I use any combination of values that occur over approximately 800 000 times (i.e. IN (7, 1) = 780741 + 555407 = 1336148) then I get performance problems.

I find it very difficult to accept that the old pipe delimited fields are a better solution (without taking into account any other than this search criterion!).

Thank you for reading this far. I really look forward to suggestions on how to improve the performance of this statement.

The following SQL statement has been identified as a bad performance. It takes ~ 160 seconds to run, but similar (indicated below first statement) SQL statements run in ~ 1 second.

Keep in mind that the enforcement timeframe has elapsed is a poor metric to use for benchmarking of SQL. The reason is that the same workload does not mean that the same elapsed execution time.

The workload for example shows a block of 1000 readings. There will be a difference marked by this workload reading data of the slow physical disks, or making this workload by reading data from memory in memory cache. And if it happens to be in memory or on disk is a kind of "random" thing (depends on many environment and factors of execution).

Thus, rather than measure the elapsed time and use it to compare, rather compare actual workloads. A workload of 500 block reading is faster and better than a block of 1000 DSL - despite the fact that a point of elapsed time can show the 500 read being slow (e/s physical) block a block of 1000 to read (e/s logic).

  • Performance issues at the opening of business rule

    Hello

We work in collaboration with Hyperion version 9.2.1 and we have performance issues when opening the business rules. I have analyzed the issue and discovered that it has something to do with the assignment of access privileges to the rule.

The authorisation scheme looks like as follows:

User A is assigned to the group G1
User B is assigned to the Group G2
Group G1 is assigned to the XYZ group
Group is assigned to the XYZ group G2
Group XYZ is the owner of the 'basic user' delivery to the planning application.

Without attributing any unrestricted access the rule company opens immediately.
By assigning the privilege to access the group G1/G2 (post or get) the business rule opens immediately.
By assigning access privilege to the XYZ group the business rule opens after 2-5 minutes.

Anyone has an idea why this happens and how to fix this?

    Kind regards
    ULI

This was a problem with the business rules for quite some time. Oracle made front and rear markets in later versions than yours; and they have issued patches address, if it is not completely solved the problem. Finally things seem to be much better in 11.1.1.3, although YMMV.

  • Version 6 of the Java performance issues

It's kind of a continuation of the following thread:

    Performance of Java 1.6

The question of the moose in the previous thread is not the issue. This is what came in the thread on the performace of Java 6 which I want to talk.

My question is, is there anything new about the performance issues associated with Discoverer Plus and Java version 6? In my office (and others will benefit from its interventions to the referenced thread), we have problems of considerable achievements with Discoverer Plus (web version) with a PC with Java 6 on them. Some symptoms are: no no not able ge before the login screen, severe downturn PC or PC locked alltogether. To work around these problems, we were push PCs to Java version 1.4.2. Do the restore immediately takes care of the problems of slowness, lock up or connection problems. However, some of our applications in our office now requires Java Version 6. People who need new applications cannot use great Discoverer, because their Java version (Java 6), causes the discoverer to bog down.

Is there a longer version and Java which took in charge the performance issues with the discoverer? Or maybe a patch. Our technicians helpdesk said that some versions of Java 6 had some security issues to consider. But as Java 6: update 11 had taken care of its security concerns. Update of Java 6 11 supported performance issues? Y at - it a patch for this version that made?

    Thank you

    Hello
Certainly there is a performance issue if you have Java 1.4 on the server and Java 1.6 on the workstation. I hope you have discoverer 10.1.2.2, 10.1.2.3 with CP1, 2, or 4 or less CP6, you need to update Java on your server to equalize it with the version on your workstations. Some will say that older versions of 10.1.2.2 ok to upgrade Java on but I'm not sure.

I recently mafe announcement on my blog which may help: http://learndiscoverer.blogspot.com/2009/04/be-careful-when-upgrading-to-java-16.html

You will also find interesting information in this note on MetaLink: 728452.1

Also, once you have upgraded your Java Server I recommend clearing the cache of Java on stations of local work and using Add/Remove programs to remove all older versions. Some people go as far as the removal of all versions of local Java that allows the server to discoverer of re - install the required version.

    Best wishes

  • Scroll the issue in the model of "Influence".

Has anyone else encountered a problem with scrolling on the phone model "Influence"? I had a website finished and thought when he went to live scrolling would not so nervous. When you arrive at the end of the page he pops up again, but this is not always the case and it is not always at the same point on the page? I restarted the site and finished, it's still once, not deviate the parameters models, scrolls etc. and it always behaves very nervous. Can someone please advise as to the address / solve this problems? I've asked this question before and was advised to adjust the effects of scroll, but as I had not touched these that initially I was wondering was there problems with the model? I would really appreciate some advice.

    Kind regards

I created a test with the same model site but see no problem scrolling: http://influence-test.businesscatalyst.com/index.html

Please let me know if you make reference to a specific part of the page, also if you have than a html embed trying to remove this and then check, also reset settings scroll to check.

    Hello world

If I select the model of the EGGS for 'Platform Overlay for up to 1,000 virtual users'

If I have 1100 UESRS and very very low use of voicemail, I can still using this model of EGGS "CUC 1000 user?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

According to my understanding, surpassing the number of users speciied in EGGS will not raise any errors. However, given that the product has been tested with some settings for optimum performance, exceeding the specified limit is not recommended and very probably is not supported by the TAC in the case of any performance issues.

  • How to make the curves on a model effect the model below

Hello!  I have a comp with a top product and a layer underneath with a (curves) adjustment layer that is the shade of the product.

This was fine when I got the background layer below that of the same model.

But now I have to put the background layer into its own model.  And the curves are not impact on this one!  Why?

    Shadows.jpg

I don't know why you need to move the background in a separate model, but since the adjustment layer that contains the background is no longer at this computer there is no way so that he could perform the background. Your main computer has a bunch of layers which are all nested compositions. There are six layers below the bottom. This tells me that the background should have some transparent areas in it or is set so that it does not cover these six layers. I see not the starting points of the any of these layers, so I'm going to assume that the reason why the background layer must be in this computer, it is that it extends to cover these other layers and two pots comp covers the length of the comp. otherwise there is no reason to put this backdrop in a separate comp. If this is the case, turn on the background in the model of two jars so that it is carried out by the adjustment with a track matte layer, and then cut the other background layer. If this worn can't work you will need to copy the adjustment layer and is following Matt and add them to the layout of the background.

I am also curious to know why you do not have collapse transformations lit for all of these nested compositions. About the only reason I can find is that there is no animation on these nested layers.

A diagram which is extended at the next level would help to understand things. In addition, the modified properties of the two layers in question would be great to see. Also, it would be great to see the script so I can see the entry points and other layers.

  • OPA webservice performance issues

    Hi all

We are experiencing some performance issues with the service call a takeover of modules. The service is called via a regular Web service (XML) and we analyzed (using a clean SOAP UI call) the OPA response time is 1.5-2 seconds.

As the modules is not very big (below I provide you with project statistics), I am surprised by the amount of time it takes OPA to return. Anyone know what could possibly cause this problem?

    Best regards, Els

    Hi, Els,

The amount of data you pass in to OPA (i.e. What is the XML)? I saw some performance issues with web service calls big (such as those involving thousands of entity instances), and I understand the bottleneck in these situations the time it takes to parse the XML. (The engine of the OPA itself is extremely fast).

Of course, there are many variables to consider in all environments. Without doubt you and your team will have to do some testing to eliminate assumptions until you find the root cause.
