  • How to disable the Network Magic Splash Screen feature?

Anyone can guide me please you through the steps to disable the Network Magic boot screen? I bought the software a few years back and saw a message, how to do it. I did, and it worked a treat... until a recent bug on my computer forced a major restoration, which brought back the splash screen. Now, I forgot (of course) how I disabled it in the registry. I know that this question is compared to the major probs that here, others have small potatoes, but I hope that someone will still give me a little help.

Well, that's interesting! I really thought that it was a common problem, which need a registry edit to remove the splash screen, as is the case with other programs. I was wrong.

So, once a hardware problem (I just had one of my hard drives go bad), I'll follow your advice by uninstalling and then reinstalling Network Magic. The splash screen I see, which appears just after the start and central rest before and during the complete boot process, is a pale green rectangle with 'Pure Networks' (and a little of the rest of the text) on this subject. I'll report after trying your solution.

    Thanks much for the reply.

  • removed from the network computers still will appear on the network map

I have removed two computer laptop computers fom my network and removed in the network map.  They are no longer on the PREMISIS (sold).  Subtracting them to the magic of the network, I removed the network locking, set up as 'Follow-up as intruders' and they removed the network card.  I then reset the locking system.  When I bruing to the top of the map of the network, they are gone.  However, after a few minutes, as they appear again.  How can I remove them permanently from my network?

Network Magic is not an antivirus program or a firewall of some type.

    You need an anti-virus program.

Simply apply the button "Ignore that alert" on the alert of the absence of the software Anti-spyware or Antivirus (double click on the alert red see shield in the network on your router image map).

I know, the Archos tablet you are talking about runs on Android 2.2 Froyo operating system.  It is not included in the official system required for Network Magic.

  • Icon for Network Magic Folders REMOVAL!

Hello.  I installed my Linksys WRT54G2 router software, and auto-installé Network Magic (Trial Version).  During installation, 2 icons appeared on my desk.  "Network Magic Folders" and "Network Magic", the latter is a shortcut.  I tried to remove the "Network Magic Folders" icon and it is mounted permanently on the desktop.  I read a post with a similar prob, but the "fix" was to right click on the NM icon on the taskbar, click on 'options', under general, select the checkbox 'icons hide NM.

Of 'options' menu when right clicking the icon on the taskbar NM or the notification icon, there is not.  How can I remove this icon, without uninstalling NM?

    Thank you

  • Problem detection network with Network Magic/Pure platform Service quirks and WUSB54GC

    SYSTEM & HARDWARE INFO:

Router config: Auto Channel, up to 130mbps mode, radio enabled, enabled SSID broadcast

Drivers: Latest from Linksys site (v4.9.90 setup.exe download)
Programs of security software: Comodo & Panda Cloud Antivirus Firewall
Configs of security software: uninstalled, installed or disabled, and installed/enabled

    DETAILS OF THE PROBLEMS:

No wireless network is detected on the computer with the installed adapter WUSB54GC.  Cell phones, printer (located in the same office) and game console, receive positive signals / have no connectivity problem.  With a new installation of Windows (i.e. the BONES cost installation before using each method) I tried to install the unit using the following methods: 1) using the Setup program on the CD-ROM included, 2) using the last program (drivers) site Web of Linksys, install 3) manually through the device with drivers from the Disk Manager and installing 4) manually through the Device Manager with the newer drivers from the Web site Linksys.  In addition, I tried with the firewall disabled/uninstalled software.

I had some success using the Linksys Wireless Manager program that is included in the installation program.  However, it is only if I choose the option 'connect to the hidden network' when the Wireless Manager is ran in the last step of the Installer (no network is detected the case).  The quirks are that the network is not hidden, and after Setup is complete, I can see all the wireless LANs with the Linksys Wireless Manager (no need to check the option hidden network).  After a few diagnostic tests, I think that the Network Magic software that is installed in quiet mode with the Linksys software is at the origin of the problem.

During the detailed above method that allowed me to connect to the network, I used the firewall software to observe that connectivity can be established only if nmsrvc.exe, a component of the network Network Magic/pure software platform that is installed silently, is allowed access to the network.  After this program to access the Linksys Wireless Manager network can detect networks normally and connectivity problems disappeared.  After he logged initially I can even kill the process, its assistance process and the program manager wireless, still maintain connectivity.  I also thought about this magic (AKA pure networks platform service) network installation two other network protocols that when disabled preventing connectivity.  With certainty the adapter only works if I finish the complete installation program by using the hidden network option and continue to use linksys wireless/network magic software later.

I'm trying to understand why the Network Magic software is necessary to detect and use all networks.  As I said originally, I tried just to install the drivers through the device without success Manager.  The adapter is configured on a machine Pentium 4 of 2001, and this software supports 40 MB of precious CPU cycles and memory.  I want to connect to my wireless network and use the computer without software bloated slow down the computer even more.  My own conclusion, after all these tests are that my router needs the network magic to work properly for some reason, but if that's true, I would at least use Windows connects to the network as Linksys Wireless Manager uses 30MB RAM itself.  Of course, it's more a problem advanced if I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read all this and make their contribution.  Thank you.

I think that the most appropriate statement would be that the WUSB54GC has some compatibility issues with Windows XP SP3.

Specifying the age of the available Linksys drivers I did some research and discovered that the WUSB54GCv3 uses a third party (a common practice), the Ralink RT2800UD chipset.  Latest Ralink drivers for this chipset are over a year newer than the official drivers from Linksys.  They require just a few reconfiguration so that they work with Linksys WUSB54GCv3.  With the updated drivers comes better compatibility and performance often.

Once I installed these drivers updated the device could detect local wireless normally, and I was able to use the Zero Windows wireless utility to connect to my network.  I think that others with similar compatibility problems will have the same result.  For more information and links to these pilots updated already visit reconfigured: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/.  There are not official, updated drivers for many other Linksys products here.  Credit for the drivers and the Web site goes to this person: http://sites.google.com/site/linksysupdateddrivers/about.

  • Connected to the internet, but not connected network magic shows

My network is connect to the internet, both wired and wireless. On the compputer connected by magic cable network shows not connected, but I am connected. Unable to print remotely. Router shows connected but the network card is not.

    Thank you

After reading your response, I decided to uninstall and reinstall the program. Thought it would be a little easier. I felt that the problenm was that the program had been damaged but hesitate to reinstall it because I downloaded from the internet several years ago and could not find the product key.  I finally found the program cisco and the location of the key and now works. Not as sexy but effective.

    Thank you once again

  • Magic of the network stops nikon software to run!

seems I find more problems with this software of each and everyday... it's slow (a lot) of vista ultimate 64 bit stop but is not only also in conflict with Nikon browser that many of us, the photographers use...

Why ViewNX install on my Vista system?

all my nikon software works very well... I spent what network magic pro is a joke. 5.5.9118-2 version which I believe is latest non-beta (I do no beta versions).

a poorly written piece of software should be free based on questions I see users having with it, including me. I would prefer linksys previous installation that does not push software on users, noway nohow I think network magic is anything but a piece of cheap buggy software that cisco should be embarrassed for sale. Although I love the linksys products this purchase/coupling with the magic of the network can rely on the software is best available.

Thank you to offer help and appreciate it. forums are great places to help a user who IMO is most of the time better than the software company complained.

have a puget computer systems built on platform i7 specifically for photography work and have it run without problem (vista 64 reliabiliity monitor tool on average 9.71) I don't keep Network Magic is I've not found anything easier to add computers to our network with and I do often enough to keep unfortunetly. Nothing beats a simple usb memory key to install all the settings on the computer or laptop and not have to install network magic on those computers. But having to keep on a principal which is mine.

on xp with previous wrt54v3, I have no problems everything manually and not install the software at all do I like to do. I don't know if it's the ipv6 stack or changing the linksys web page interface, but I had trouble keeping xp on network constantly computers without using Network Magic to load as indicated above. for this reason that I keep.

the original message was anticipated to the top and ' rant ' from me to other users.

Thanks to all those who offered help I appreciate it as well as knowledge.

don't ever put my info because did not ask for help I did was cut and paste the viewNX help point I found on the website of nikon. Nikon has a very good software for their dslr I use with my D700, nikon transfer, viewNX and capture NX2.2.

NAV 2009 now that symantec has obtained index and is back for a compact and a good proggy that works, just simply. It took them 5 years, but they have listened to their customers... Finally. using linksys wrt54g2 V1... previously had wrt54g V3 with latest firmware should be was not the latter.

  • Magic of the network hit all the computers off line when the laptop wireless on signs

I have Network Magic V. 5.1.9055.0, a G from Linksys WRT110 wireless router. Online at any time may be all or part of the next list computers/gamers, computer hand Win XP sp3 is connected to the router, Samsung clp300 printer lazer connected to the main computer as a server, Vista sp2 office connected to the Wii, PS3 wireless wireless router and laptop Vista sp2 wireless. Whenever the laptop wireless comes online, it will stop magic network until the wireless is fully initialized and online, it strikes all onlines offline until there is a full boot of the wireless.

Very frustrating since we went all the cisco and spilled a belkin router that worked perfectly with the above configuration. (unfortunately I gave the belkin far and no longer have access to it or I would have released this new linksys and would be happy to once again) I don't understand why cisco units cannot work together in harmony?  In any case, I can't find any info on the help of linksys or the magical sites network which brings me to this forum. Need help, please notify...

I removed NM v5.1.9055 three computers and re-installed to v 5.5.9118. inserted my key and re started to each of them. When the laptop wireless started it off the other two for about 3 minutes until the phone was fully charged while we were back on the line. The poster always online in the map view, the internet router is and the laptop (Vista) shows online, but the report to other computers (1 XP and 1 Vista) shows red and offline. Always frustrating because it's all working without error until I installed the linksys cisco router then the trouble started... still need help...

  • Network Magic is not updated in the computer security software.

I decided to standardize my security with Microsoft Security Essentials software.  I uninstalled the previous security software (CA Internet Security Suite) and installed Security Essentials on two laptops.  Now, when I look at the Map Network Magic, I have 3 alerts.

    My router is D - Link DI - 624 Rev C Firmware 2.70.  Network magic is c. 5.5.9195.0 - PURE0, version of the 11.2.9195.1 platform.  My cable modem is D - link DCM-202.

When I discover the details and alerts from a computer, running Vista Home, SP2, it shows that there is no antivirus installed, the spy software is the defender of widows, and firewall Microsoft Windows is installed.  Alerts that I receive from this computer are that the Antispyware is turned off and the Antivirus is not installed.

When I discovered the details and alerts of yhe other computer, running XP, SP3, it shows that the Antivirus is CA-Anti-Virus, installed no Antispyware and firewall Microsoft Windows is installed.  The alert for this computer, it is that there is no antispyware installed.

I removed the two computers to my network card, rebooted and re them connected to Network Magic, but the sill of alerts are displayed.

How can I get Network Magic to report the correct security software installed on both of these computers?

Hi, MSE was released after 5.5 NM.  Wait for the next update for full support.

  • After the expiry of the trial version of Network Magic, never connect wireles yet!

We have a router model: WRT160N V3 and came with this network magic software and it expired months ago and since then, it's wireless. What should I do?

    Thank you

  • Cannot delete the desktop icon: Network Magic?

Running Windows 7 64-bit HP.  Network Magic is installed as a 30 day trial when I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 (why I've never waited so long?). I uninstalled by getting in pure Networks/Setup...etc; It's, I think I've done the proper uninstall. However, I can't get rid of his Network Magic Folders icon on my desktop. I can't even move the icon on the desktop. Right click gives: open and create a shortcut.  Selecting open doesn't do nothing, shortened by selecting creates a shortcut on the desktop that can be deleted. Suggestions?

EDIT: Here's an answer essentially the same question (http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7desktop/thread/3a90c945-1072-4bb7-9afc-ec8df2cee03b).  However, I'm not good in the registry to work, I can't go wrong with it as I don't know if the answer is there.

    That did the trick:

    Delete this key...

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ {C55C499D-3518-44a1-998E-796AC5FC989D}]

  • G780 wireless doesn't work anymore; the networks are but cannot connect

I have a G780 bought earlier this year. It came with Windows 8, which I still use. Everything was working fine until today. All of a sudden I can't connect to my wireless network (I have a router that can have a 'network of comments' in addition to normal and I can not connect to one of these). I had been fiddling with the settings last night, but everything was working well. I can connect with other devices, so I know that the networks work.

Networks appear in the list of available networks, but every time I try and connect it just doesn't work. To make sure that I wasn't just typing the wrong passwords I tried to disable all security on one of the networks (so it was a totally open network without password), and the laptop still unable to connect. I tried to reboot the router wireless, by restarting the computer, update the driver for the wireless card, uninstall the drivers and reinstall them, activation and deactivation of the wireless card, by unchecking the option to disable card wireless to save energy and last computer ditch effort that I even did this "Refresh" of Windows 8 option that uninstalls all programs you install and resets the default options. Which included also to uninstall my antivirus program, so I tried to connect without that too. Nothing has made any difference.

Edited to add that I also downloaded and ran the diagnostic tool on the Lenovo site for my laptop and the version of Windows for wireless network problems and it did not show anything.

I'd appreciate really no indication as to what to do next. I'm good enough at the end of my mind with this.

It's the weirdest thing ever. I decided to give it a try once again just for the heck of it and like magic it works all of a sudden. I can now connect to two networks very well. I have nothing after my last try yesterday evening except put the computer into hibernation... I don't know how it works now, but I appreciate the help! I'll create a restore right now, just in case. Thanks for your replies!
