The Oracle of the Flashback files management

Hello

I have a db_recovery_file_dest_size = 150 GB I need now to reduce nearly than half of deer to the constraints of SAN.

In my 100 GB flash recovery area is currently used - as follows:
55GO - flashback files
40GB - Backup sets
5 GB - archive logs

My flashback retention policy is 2 days.
However, there are a of files flashback dating back almost 2 months!

So the logical place to save space here is to reduce the number of files flashback being kept beyond the 2-day period I need.

Now, I understand that I can not just delete the files that they are managed in oracle.

My question is this.

If I try to reduce the 80 GB say db_recovery_file_dest_size how oracle handles this. that is my new limit will be < as the space currently used. Oracle will simply remove the unnecessary files of flashback? And oracle will begin to reduce the number of successful cases?

Thank you
Niall

[url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10897/backrest.htm#CHDEFIHF] Even after that in the fast recovery area files are obsolete, are generally not deleted until space is needed for new files. Restore point issue is mentioned in the question the MOS workspace in Flash Recovery Area (FRA) [829755.1 ID], but the answer to your question seems to be curiously absent in the docs, not that I looked harder.

I've never narrowed down an MRE, so I'm also curious what will happen. I suspect that you may want to manually remove backups with the partner of overlap and remove obsolete (or backup also to do the same thing), so you don't get in a pressure situation extreme space that kills archiving, then shrink the FRA and perform a backup operation to trigger clean-up operations.

When I'm in MS Word (or any other Office program - for example, Excel, Powerpoint etc.) and you want to open an existing file, I click on the Windows button (upper-left) and

I would like to display by default «Details» There is a much clearer screen (in my opinion).

How to configure it to ALWAYS appear in the Details view?

I've already implemented the display of Documents to always appear in the 'Détails' fornmat by:
    -Right-click on the Documents folder
    -by selecting the properties
-customize the folder and all subfolders to show details.

BUT as soon as I have access to the option to open the file in MS Office (really annoying), he returned to display small icons.

    Help!

You can present a fool-proof setp by way of the configuration step. He will save a lot of time for me!

    Thank you...

    Select this option.

You can try shift + end on that thing. Open the dialog box, you want to if you wish, hold Shift and close the dialog box with the X. Who should take it to save the settings for a dialogue to make the app, this has worked for me on several I tried, but on some it did not.

  • How to call the BB10 file manager?

    Hello

Is it possible to open a native file bb10 Manager application of webworks? I've not found anything expect the api file picker that is not exactly what I want. I have to just call/open the file manager inside a folder that is created by the app.

    tips are welcome.

    Thank you very much

No I don't think so. The docs invocation page: Basic applications does not include the application of file manager: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/invoking_core_apps.html

The file picker has been designed to give applications an easy way to activate the file selection.

  • Can someone tell me where are the configuration files managed by the CRS resources?

    Hello

I'm new to SIR and I am curious about certain topics, CRS.

Could someone explain me where I find the configuration of the resources held by the CRS?  These resources I see later with the crs_stat command?

I know how stat them (crs_stat) I know how to handle (for ex: crs_relocate) but I guess there is also configuration files that store settings for example which define nodes (target) where run them etc..

    Thank you.

    m.

As FreddieEssex said, this info is in the OCR. It's a binary file, not a traditional text-based configuration file.

Normally, you use crsctl or srvctl utility to change the configuration of the resource.

You can also use the utility GRID_HOME/bin/ocrdump $ to clear the content of OCR in a file > but even in this case, some of the information is still in form binary (a lot of hexadecimal characters).

  • How to create a new subfolder and do appear in the view files after you import the pictures inside?  The folder does not appear after that I imported the photos.

I use 14 elements on Windows 10.  I would like to create new subfolders in the folder view as I get pictures sent to me.  I want to keep by date.  When I import from a camera it creates folders but when I try to import them from a subfolder I created with the windows file manager, it does not appear in the Organizer.

Don't forget that your left folder tree is set to 'tree' (the little menu icon on the right of the title bar).

Click on the + sign to the left of the main folder to display subfolders with images.

If you want to see the subfolders without all the media files, select the master folder and right click, then choose the last option to display all of the subfolders.

  • Sony NW - E507 MP3 File Manager and Windows 7 problem

Until very recently, I was using a custom PC with Windows XP Pro installed to transfer my music on the MP3 player using the "MP3 File Manager" software that connected the MP3 itself.

Now, both my PC under Windows 7 64 bit and I found that I can't transfer music to the player more.

Is there an alternative piece Manager style of files of the software available that will allow me to transfer files to my player?

The player is in perfect condition and I'm reluctant to buy a newer model that my drive works fine except for not be able to transfer music to it. If there is no solution then I guess I might have to invest in a new Sony's MP3 player that has a software that is compatible with Windows 7 64 bit and later.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you very much

The Walkman player is not compatible with windows 7 OS. You use Windows Vista, XP, 2000, 98 OS to transfer music to portable player.

  • Questions or basic file management

Hello, I'm quite new to hearing (CC2014), and in my efforts to understand the system of management of the program, I met several puzzles. (I think understand managing files in audio and video programs is crucial, and I'm already off a not-so-good start). I hope someone out there has the patience to give a hand.

    1. for experimentation, I created a .wav file, called "Terra Firma" and put it in a folder on the desktop called "project of hearing". I opened the waveform, and then just closed hearing without doing anything else. Now, in my project folder of the hearing, there is another file named Terra Firma, but with the icon of the Green/Black. When I double click the icon of the black green, hearing opens, but does not display the file of Terra Firma. In the hearing Media Explorer, the original .wav file appears. So, what's the purpose of the other file with the same name? Is it important

    2. destructive editing: if I understand correctly, when I make and save the changes to the wave shape of my file of Terra Firma, the original file is constantly changing. So ALWAYS work with a copy of the audio, right?

Basically, I do not get the hearing file management system. It makes no intuitive sense for me. I think it's, well, really bad.  If someone could suggest a tutorial where he is clearly explained, I would be very happy.

The second file is called a file 'peak '. It is a record of the hearing, where the symbol and its extension is .pkf. Its purpose is to allow you to open the file you saved more quickly. It contains the Visual data hearing would otherwise have to regenerate when you reopen the file. This is only really useful to save these if you use larger files; short will be open relatively quickly without them. There is an option to activate files peak on and apart from edit > Preferences > media & Disk Cache. The reason why they do not appear in the media browser is simply hearing knows what they are, but also knows that they do not contain audio data - so you don't just have to see them in the browser.

    2. destructive editing: if I understand correctly, when I make and save the changes to the wave shape of my file of Terra Firma, the original file is constantly changing. So ALWAYS work with a copy of the audio, right?

Yes, waveform editing is destructive, so you should save the original and work on copies if that's how you are editing. However, it is not the only option; If you do your editing in the multitrack mode, then nothing on your file gets changed at all, like multitrack is nondestructive. Basically, it's a reader of giant file, with many benefits. You can use the same bits over once, add different effects to different parts of it, automate changes of level, change your mind about what you did and do it again without losing anything, etc.. When you are finally done with your editing, then mix you it down and record it as the final version. And if you want to go back and have another go, then as long as you have saved the session file, you can. So, you can save multiple versions if you want.

What file system really wants do you is keep all of your session (aka 'active') into a single place - indeed, you will be encouraged to do so when you save a session file. You can record things where you, - there is no particular restriction, you can do what you want. If you move the files used during a session after you have recorded the session, then they will be marked as 'offline '. If you like in the session, it's easy to recreate a link to files - there is an option to right click to do this.

The file system is not 'bad' as such - well, it is not perfect, but it is not that hard to get your head around once you understand the basics of what it seeks to achieve.

  • Files without a NAME during the Flashback Database

    Hi all

Why, in flashback, database, retrieve a tablespace has dropped the datafile (s) consisting of within table get renamed to UNNAMEDnnn? I was going through some examples on the internet but did not find any concrete reason as to why this happens during the flashback recovery. If the tablespace can be recreated during the process, why not data files that compose?

Could someone help me please in my understanding.

    Hello

    ORA-01110: data file 5: ' / u01/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/dbs/UNNAMED00005'

    "

Why, in flashback, database, the data file associated with the storage space gets renamed to unnamed?

Thanks for the link and new info.

The reason is the same as in these quotes from doc that I have provided. As ORA-01111 indicates the name of the actual file is unknown so Oracle creates a unique name, then stops recovery so that you can provide the name and location.

Why, during the flashback database, retrieve a tablespace has fallen...

This formulation and the wording of the article, is probably what is mislead you. You cannot recover a tablespace using FLASHBACK DATABASE:

Here is the doc for FLASHBACK DATABASE

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/backup.111/b28273/rcmsynta023.htm

Notes A Flashback Database use operation applies to the entire base. You cannot flash back, individual storage spaces. A Flashback Database operation is similar to a point-in-time data recovery (DBPITR) with RECOVER , but RMAN uses flashback logs to undo changes to a point before the time runs out or SNA

See that second sentence? You NEED to recover the entire database and, as this quote from doc says, made it like CAMILLE by RECOVER.

In this example, the storage space AND data files were dropped. So please check the doc to DROP TABLESPACE

    https://docs.Oracle.com/CD/B28359_01/server.111/b28286/statements_9004.htm

Oracle database deletes all metadata about the space of storage data files and all the data dictionary tempfiles in the tablespace. The database also automatically removes the operating system all data files managed by Oracle and tempfiles in the tablespace. Other data files and tempfiles are not removed from the operating system unless you specify INCLUDING CONTENTS AND DATAFILES .

See? No additional data in the dictionary for the tablespace or data files. Real datafiles is more if they were managed by Oracle. But there MAY be data files of the operating system if you do NOT use this last clause.

If Oracle recreates the files using unique names and then allows you to CONFIRM that the name and location should really be.

You have a problem with that? Or just try to understand?

    1. you must close the database pending.
2 copy the file that you want to move to the different mount point using the OS commands.
    3. Mount the standby database.
4 rename the data through database level. Make sure that the standby_file_management is set to MANUAL
    5. start the MRP on the standby database.

  • Rest for the Agent files... management area?

Sorry for another question so quickly - I read the documentation first!

Management agents download files on the server of the WHO, and these are analysed and loaded as data in the SIR database, right?

Where is the staging area for these files (upload of all management agents)? Is it possible to change it? From what I understand, what
https://oms_server:1159/em/upload - but where is it in the real world? I searched the SGD $ORACLE_HOME, but impossible to find all the downloaded files

The reason for these issues is because we have an obligation to load these files into a shared area so that our two OMSes can access it - someone met a configuration like this before? It work?

    Thanks a lot (again!)

  • We select several files with the file manager

    Slate with Android 4.4 21

Multiple files can be selected in file manager to have the same approach.

My workaround for the problem of "not writing files on USB key" was to install dropbox on the slate.

This allows me to select a file (usually screenshots for instuctions) and copy it to dropbox.  So I delete the files.

I want to be able to do these operations on multiple files at a time instead of all the necessary selections to make them one by one.

I discovered that if you do a long press on a single file to implement mode "tool", you can tap on other files to add or remove the selection.

I try to keep this slate reasonably stock because we use it to support the development of software that is used on the units that are used in manufacturing.  More similar we can keep this for manufacturing units, the fewer problems we should see because of incompatible software.

You should be able to synchronize with a compatible Picture Manager, but you can also see the TouchCopy application.
