View of the Vista file manager

When I'm in MS Word (or any other Office program - for example, Excel, Powerpoint etc.) and you want to open an existing file, I click on the Windows button (upper-left) and
A file manager opens. The default view is always selected to be "small icons".
I would like to display by default «Details» There is a much clearer screen (in my opinion).

How to configure it to ALWAYS appear in the Details view?

I've already implemented the display of Documents to always appear in the 'Détails' fornmat by:
-Right-click on the Documents folder
-by selecting the properties
-customize the folder and all subfolders to show details.

BUT as soon as I have access to the option to open the file in MS Office (really annoying), he returned to display small icons.

Help!

You can present a fool-proof setp by way of the configuration step. He will save a lot of time for me!

Thank you...

Select this option.

You can try shift + end on that thing. Open the dialog box, you want to if you wish, hold Shift and close the dialog box with the X. Who should take it to save the settings for a dialogue to make the app, this has worked for me on several I tried, but on some it did not.

No I don't think so. The docs invocation page: Basic applications does not include the application of file manager: https://developer.blackberry.com/html5/documentation/invoking_core_apps.html

The file picker has been designed to give applications an easy way to activate the file selection.

  • The Oracle of the Flashback files management

    Hello

I have a db_recovery_file_dest_size = 150 GB I need now to reduce nearly than half of deer to the constraints of SAN.

In my 100 GB flash recovery area is currently used - as follows:
    55GO - flashback files
    40GB - Backup sets
    5 GB - archive logs

My flashback retention policy is 2 days.
However, there are a of files flashback dating back almost 2 months!

So the logical place to save space here is to reduce the number of files flashback being kept beyond the 2-day period I need.

Now, I understand that I can not just delete the files that they are managed in oracle.

    My question is this.

If I try to reduce the 80 GB say db_recovery_file_dest_size how oracle handles this. that is my new limit will be < as the space currently used. Oracle will simply remove the unnecessary files of flashback? And oracle will begin to reduce the number of successful cases?

    Thank you

[url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10897/backrest.htm#CHDEFIHF] Even after that in the fast recovery area files are obsolete, are generally not deleted until space is needed for new files. Restore point issue is mentioned in the question the MOS workspace in Flash Recovery Area (FRA) [829755.1 ID], but the answer to your question seems to be curiously absent in the docs, not that I looked harder.

I've never narrowed down an MRE, so I'm also curious what will happen. I suspect that you may want to manually remove backups with the partner of overlap and remove obsolete (or backup also to do the same thing), so you don't get in a pressure situation extreme space that kills archiving, then shrink the FRA and perform a backup operation to trigger clean-up operations.

  • Vista file management - how to remove a vacuum 'briefcase '?

Hi, I recently had to return to the default OS and have had some data restored through Dell DataSafe online. As a result, however, there are often several versions of the same document, jpeg etc on my users directory. From Office created documents, I am trying to organize the storage and access but keep experiencing problems during the name change, movement and - basically - deletion unnecessary. It tells me that I can't remove it because it's open, fior example. There is a particular case 'towel-style', and even if it is empty I can just get rid of it. It's my home PC, so I am the only user and therefore must have full administrator rights (although I admit looking for the funcutionality of the UAC in Vista to be rather intuitive). I need to understand where I am going wrong before I try to manage the storage of photos and music. Any guidance welcome. Thank you

To check if your username is an administrator, go to start / Control Panel / / user accounts and check the information under your name - it will tell you if you are an administrator or not.

Try to use one of the following free products to remove the file/folder.  Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml or file Assassin (works only on files, not folders), http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/). These programs often work when normal functions remove Vista not work correctly.

It may be a simple permission problem.  Give yourself full rights and perhaps even take possession of all the records and files (and folders parents perhaps) that you are handling.  Here are some tips on taking ownership and permissions:

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/.  To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To resolve this problem with folders, appropriating the files or the drive (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html.  To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot assign a drive letter using the Vista Disk Manager.

I read these latest solutions possible, but here's my problem.  I need to connect directly a 3.5 drive I pulled a SIN of hammer to my laptop running Windows Vista... because I need to recover a folder deleted this drive 3.5 with software that only works on the directly connected motors.  Software of network recovery might work, but it seems too expensive for just the recovery of this folder.  I connected the hard drive directly via the USB port.  The system tray sees the device, but the Explorer is and of disk management to assign a drive letter is greyed out.  Please help with assigning a drive letter.  There is only one user on the laptop which is also the administrator.  Thank you!

In my view, that Hammer NAS units are based on Linux. Therefore, the drive is probably _not_ formatted with a filesystem Windows reads/writes. Making it very difficult to recover the folder removed since all things you could do to convert to NTFS, say, will also make little probable that you can recover deleted files. Eventually, you could use one of the Linux flavors running from a DVD, for example, Ubuntu and recover the file by using a Linux tool or set the drive on a Linux machine.

    Hello tamster2708,

Whatever your machine a display model of the manufacturer "must" give you an option to restore your PC to factory conditions. This is done in two ways. (1) a Windows DVD is provided. (2) the operating system is on a hidden partition on the hard drive of the system. Chances are yours is this one.

As you have no literature tell you what keys press when to start your machine which will allow you to access the recovery partition, I suggest you to contact the store you purchased your machine from and to ask their technical support how are you suppose to go on the restoration of your machine to factory conditions.

You might alos visit PC manufacturers Web site and look to the top of the brand and the model of your machine, just in case they have a downloadable guide. If you can download a user guide, browse and search for "restoring your PC back to factory conditions" this will then tell you how to restore program.

If your machine is not a copy of the operating system on a hidden partition then ask the shop how you are going to get an OS DVD, ensuring that you point out that 'they' should have provided a way for you to restore your system should any problems arise.

  • Can someone tell me where are the configuration files managed by the CRS resources?

    Hello

I'm new to SIR and I am curious about certain topics, CRS.

Could someone explain me where I find the configuration of the resources held by the CRS?  These resources I see later with the crs_stat command?

I know how stat them (crs_stat) I know how to handle (for ex: crs_relocate) but I guess there is also configuration files that store settings for example which define nodes (target) where run them etc..

    Thank you.

    m.

As FreddieEssex said, this info is in the OCR. It's a binary file, not a traditional text-based configuration file.

Normally, you use crsctl or srvctl utility to change the configuration of the resource.

You can also use the utility GRID_HOME/bin/ocrdump $ to clear the content of OCR in a file > but even in this case, some of the information is still in form binary (a lot of hexadecimal characters).

  • Qosmio G35-AV650: how remove Vista Boot Manager and install XP

OK, I got the g35-av650 - US. I don't see any good American forum Toshiba, so I post here.
First of all, I must say I'm getting very frustrated.

1: I upgraded my BIOS to try to install windows vista. Vista installed, however, it works well. It must be driver problems. I deleted the partition that I allocated for Vista. Now, how the hell do I remove the screen/start menu in vista.
I want to get back my XP operating system selection screen.
I think it has to do with the boot record.

2: my bluetooth isn't all work more (don't ask me why...) After that I updated the BIOS to version 1.40 to the newest 3.30.

The recovery CD said I use the CD in the computer wrong? Is it possible to downgrade the BIOS/solve this problem, or bypass it.

Thanks for the responses, because they will be very appreciated.

    Hello

(1.) you want to reinstall XP on the HARD drive or you want to cancel only the vista Boot Manager.
Usually after reinstalling XP, the boot manager should disappear.

But I found these tips step by step in the internet:

-Start your computer in Windows XP.
-Make sure you have the image of Vista DVD emulated or in the DVD drive.
-Go to start and run. Type in e:\boot\bootsect.exe/nt52 ALL/force (without the quotation marks and replace e: with the letter of your Vista DVD).
-Restart the computer, and you notice that the selection of start menu disappeared.
-Format the partition/drive where you installed Vista.
-Remove the two (Boot.BAK and Bootsect.BAK) files on your file of root of drives XP (c), it was backup of your previous boot loader files, now is more useful.
-Optional: Restart to make sure it still works.
-Use your partition software to merge your partitions.

2.), I hope that you have used the BIOS from the page we Toshiba. However, the BIOS update should not has a bad influence on the functionality of BT. Try to download the latest driver for BT and install again.

  • Sony NW - E507 MP3 File Manager and Windows 7 problem

Until very recently, I was using a custom PC with Windows XP Pro installed to transfer my music on the MP3 player using the "MP3 File Manager" software that connected the MP3 itself.

Now, both my PC under Windows 7 64 bit and I found that I can't transfer music to the player more.

Is there an alternative piece Manager style of files of the software available that will allow me to transfer files to my player?

The player is in perfect condition and I'm reluctant to buy a newer model that my drive works fine except for not be able to transfer music to it. If there is no solution then I guess I might have to invest in a new Sony's MP3 player that has a software that is compatible with Windows 7 64 bit and later.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you very much

    Rob

The Walkman player is not compatible with windows 7 OS. You use Windows Vista, XP, 2000, 98 OS to transfer music to portable player.

Thanks for posting on Microsoft answers Community Forums.

The Indexing Service is based on the file systems, you currently have on your computer. Since you have Vista is the NTFS file system.  It works on both Windows XP and Vista.

You can take a look at the link below which gives you information about indexing option both on the FAT and NTFS file system. That should answer most of your question with indexing.
