The page content of the mapping in the setting of the models

I am faced with the task of remapping on a thousand web pages to a Dreamweaver template. Each of these pages has three main areas that should be maintained in the new model page. Here's the page metadata block and the title in the < head > section and the contents of the body section. Some elements, such as navigation and elements of the identification page are not required as the design model revises these features of the page.

It's pretty easy attach the model to the original page, but it's pretty disastrous, like the attachment process allows the remapping of the head and the body parts and it is not refined enough to be useful. The alternative is to create a new page from a template, and then copy these three parts of the old page to the new and save the new page under the name of the old page. It works fine, but it's really a lot of time with a large volume of pages and I whereas Dreamweaver would provide a method to automate this.

I tried to define the editable regions in the original pages to map to the blocks can be changed to the new model without success. I tried to manually insert the code that seems to be used to link the model but all my attempts to fix the template and keep the required content fail with errors.

It is quite easy to use Dreamweaver's search and replace functionality for trawl fishing in the existing pages and insert tags marking the limits of the three areas required of each page, but I can't find any way to map these areas required for the editable area of the model.

Is it possible that a web page can be prepared so that when a Dreamweaver template is attached to the specific page content in an existing page can be mapped to an editable region in the template and kept once the attached template? I have checked the documentation online, my textbooks and space of the forum but can not see all the techniques that deal with this issue.

Tips or advice on how this could be done could save me days of work manually convert existing web pages to use the model. I am currently using Dreamweaver MX 2004.

Four-ks thanks for this suggestion. I had not thought about extensions and it is even possible to record a few sequences of simple commands to simplify the process. I did not write the extensions but it seems an interesting exercise and something I should try at any given time to improve my skills in Dreamweaver.

It is looking as if the feature model in Dreamweaver cannot directly support y attach a template to an existing document while retaining elements or content of the document in the process.

The result is that Adobe does not provide any software to defeat the security of a PDF file. If the creator of the PDF file set to this level of security, intentionally or not, that's what it is! The solution to your problem is to go to the creator of the document and ask the password or an unprotected PDF file version.

Master page content in the foreground.

Hey there.
I'm trying to set up a site so that the master page content above rather than the content of each page.
I found this; Adobe Muse help | Working with Master Pages which says I should be able to right click on the mandatory content of the page master in design mode and select "move to > Master in the foreground '.» I can't seem to find this command anywhere in the Muse or any method at all to display content from master to the foreground.
I use the latest version (2014.3) perfectly up-to-date.
Am I missing something or has this functionality changed in newer versions of Muse?
Can someone point me in the right direction?

The next line tells me that it is not a template file, but a document created from a template called index.dwt

This means that you have saved a child document under template at some stage.

If you go to edit-> models-> detach the model, you can remove the structure of the model of your document. All you then need to do is to re - save the document as a template.

I can't create a title of document on a page of the model

I just upgraded to CS6 and am having a problem, I don't remember coming across before. I created a template with a couple of editable regions and then created a new PHP, page 3, column based on that.
I find now that I can't cite page using the Document Title window.
I can enter text in the field, but it is not stored.
Check the source code, all the text box is greyed out...

Normally, Dreamweaver creates an editable region for the title in the .dwt file. If this didn't happen, you can change the head of the .dwt like this file:

When I create a model, the model ends up looking like a very generic of the original version until I have save as an html file. Images disappear and the menu bar is missing, but the words that make up the menu bar are stretched across the page. The boxes, I've built for the content area also disappears so I can't make an editble region. I know that this is not just because I just watched a video of a guy at adobe and when he creates a model the youtube model looks exactly the same as the page: :// http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5_-kaDZr6whttp. Anyone has an idea why this happens?

File > new model Page. Choose a template in your current site.

I think that what you do is save your template as a new file that does not work because the paths external CSS, scripts, and images are broken.

Using Page breaks and change the model

I'm working on a book. The book is in a Word format. I'm taking the text and the porter in InDesign with page after page being connected. There are 73 pages in total of pure copy once worn on in. Now I go and put the media in the text. I have two basic model master drawings that I use according to the content referred to this in the text. Example is that Master model has a white background, master model B, which has a black background.
Given that the book is alternating between the models based on the content on the page pages could look like this:
Page 1: Model has
Page 2: Model has
Page 3: Model B
Page 4: Model has
and so on. I have a question about the page breaking. I want to always keep the content on page 3 on a main B template background.
However, if I add more content to A, or if I use a page break, the content on all subsequent pages is pushed down (all pages are linked). So if I jump from Page 1 page, my page B content is pushed on a background model. It is obviously not what I wanted. Should there be another function outside of page break should I use to put the separaters? How can I ensure my content on page 3 remains on a background of the B model?

Currently, your text is threaded into a continuous narrative. When you add the new text in the Middle, everything after this point will move. To avoid that you should break the text into separate stories for CCE content type.

Use of the model, but not on all pages

Hello - new user DW CS5. I have a built site where I created my first page with banner, header, footer menu sidebar graphic using the DIVs. There is a #content box (editable) where my variable text/graphics to send in. I then turned this skeleton in a backup model and built the rest of the pages out of the model. I can't believe how easy it was and it works.
But how to establish a "selective model area. What does this mean? OK, I have a subsection (who are we) where we give a little bio and photo on the staff members each on their own sub-sub-page. This DIV I need to define an area of model where I provide links to the other members of the staff member - < a href... >, but I don't want this box on every page of the site, just the subpages describing members of the staff. Of course - I could copy and paste from one page to many but I know good design, you do not want to enter in repeat code this way because it's 'dirty' and difficult to follow in the future. In my studies, I ran across this so I know to avoid.
And so, because I have little training, I'll ask if anyone has a couple of pointers to allow this kind of behavior - have a text/chart area (model?) that may apply to the selective pages I want?

Update of the pages after the model update

So, I use a problem. I update the model as my client wants changes. I say yes to the question of dialog "10 pages to update? All disappear from files/slices/jpg model and when I opened it to see, I see only the text content / editable. Why DW modifies the CBC on my hard drive on all the files/slices/jpg?
We woud need to see the code on the template page to understand what you are
trying to describe. Usually these things are caused by errors in this
code. Can you download the template and post a link to it?

Incorrect paths for active content after the update of the models
When I apply a new model with a page in Dreamweaver CS3 all links updated correctly with the exception of any content active. The paths of active content (files .swf) point to the correct locations. The paths to the files remain the same, as if they were always pointing towards the model. All other links and paths are updated properly (images, links), but not the Flash. Everyone heard talk of this problem/bug? I just can't understand why it's happening.
I must add, however, when you open a new document from the template links ARE correct. Only when the application of the template to a page, or when I update the model and update the pages associated with it that happens. Am I missing something?

Pages export to Word using the model of NEWSLETTER, issue 1 of page spacing

QUESTION: Anyone know if model NEWSLETTER (and or Museum Brochure) correctly export to .docx and how delete images or change the text boxes using these models so that I am still able to export properly?

I used the NEWSLETTER model, whose Pages can export to .docx and then import to .docx (I don't know if that Word can do, but Pages indicates it would be).

Problem: after the header of the newsletter, I removed the photo and have floating only the areas of text underneath. I have two pages, the 2nd page export perfect (a page break separates it from the first). On the first page, there are 12 small boxes in two columns under the heading who generously and easily fit on the first page. It is not unlike the model I have, however, but with no photos. I've seen many templates use these 'boxes' in support of the columns of text on a page, I don't think the floating box would be a problem. However, I like the wish of floating boxes to learn how to use them so that they "work".

I saw immediately that the text boxes, I added, when export and imported .docx, lose their place and float under the heading (NEWSLETTER) (superimposed text, bad page layout).

I noticed the paragraph (carriage return, Enter) symbols, while I moved around text boxes, had become interlaced between the boxes, but not all - 1/2 at the bottom of page. I then noticed that attempt to remove the superfluous paragraph runs in .pages (after repositioning all the boxes), but aggravated .docx, also the Pages do not leave even to remove the first symbol (it mystifies me, because the models do not appear to use paragraph at all except inside the floating boxes).

Finally, I added enough symbols paragraph so that there was a conflict between each text box, but not as much as Word decide to add a blank page. I had to make sure the columns are too wide - they should be 1/4 "part we will tell. THAT APPEARED TO WORK. Pages exported and imported it point by point I was happy.

But when my Advisor job achieved and open in Word (the one for Windows 7), the SAME problem, I had before setting the transport returns appeared: the two decoders or four are overlapping the title, and set the person must have inserted transport returns before the first text box to move it all down (which seemed to work - but failed as an export and no not to use practice later). 'good work '. Fortunately, I also have attatched a PDF export, however the person had asked to change their PLU using high government dell.

Well, we have said for years in this community if you want stressless, architecture native document exchange with Windows Word users that you need to use the most recent Word available on the Mac.

Pages is not a clone of Word, and Apple does not guarantee that the open translation process / export from/to the architecture of document Word will remain faithful to the original of the document formatted.

In response to your questions:
1. If you have document objects in a model with x on their border, and then the object is locked. You visit the tab Pages to reorganize v5, and downstairs you can unlock these objects for further editing, or deletion.
2. It is advice that we can give here will make sure Pages exports specifically to the word he already did not. The logic of translation is connected to demand, and it is the price of roulette.

Cannot find the model of my laptop BIOS update page

Hello. I have a HP Pavilion dv6-6154tx notebook PC. My latest version of the BIOS installed is Hewlett - Packard F.1B, 10/05/11.

I wanted to check if my BIOS is up to date, and if there was a newer version of the BIOS available.

So I went to the HP support for laptop page (http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/products/laptops) and chose Pavilion laptops > models dv4000 to dv6999 > dv6000 Entertainment Notebook PC series > products outside the corresponding United States.

But alas, I couldn't find the model of my laptop which are listed there. It has dv6150tx and so he climbs to dv6161ea, but not dv6154tx.

What should I do now? Is there another way, I can update the BIOS of my laptop?

I have Dreamweaver CS6, when I do my .aspx pages are not be being updated the model updates (html are ok). Any suggegtions?

When I make a change to the header of my model (using dreamweaver CS6) my .asxp pages are not updated. Any suggestions as to why this could happen?

To deepen our questions, we remembered that we had renamed the main level of the aspx pages folder, after that we have applied the model. Once we have created the new folder in dreamweaver with its respective aspx pages, we were able to apply the model and changes to the model propagated down to the pages as expected.
