The partitions of a distributed system and custom map of cooking.

Hello

I'm experimenting with custom (schema-class) media card to distribute the game. I see one instance of my card is created and it is used to store data from all partitions hosted by JVM.

My question is
In case of transfer of the partition, how one partition data will be removed from the backup card. It will require complete sweep on keySet()? It will be done in parallel with the cache operation (on partitions of transfer / other partitions)? I ask, because I want to know what use of concurrency should support application card customized to be used as background of the cache of distribution.

Thank you.

Hello

Organizing data for the partition (for example due to failover) transfer requires an iteration of the set of keys. However, only the partition in question must be locked; other partitions owned by the same cache service can still be repaired. The lock is managed to a level of internal consistency.

3.5 consistency, a key iteration is no longer necessary, to reduce the overhead of the transfer of the partition.

Thank you

    Thank you

The Finder, choose utilities go to menu, open disk utility, use the restore function to move the volume of Snow Leopard and check that it works.

When you're done, select all of the disk and click the Partition tab. If the partition of Mountain Lion is the first in the list, delete the one snow leopard, drag the slider under the Mountain Lion partition as far down as it will go and click on apply. If it's the second, restore the system of Cougar in the first volume, restart it and proceed as above.

  • Help to remove the partition on a hard drive and data recovery

I have two hard drives in my PC, the C: drive is 80 GB, and the F: drive is 120 GB.  The second drive (120 GB) is divided into two partitions.  I just deleted the partitions and makes the hard drive again in a single disc, however I had some important files on the F: drive that I thought I had copied to the C: drive but they are not there.  Is there anyway that is using the software I can return the drive to two drives and recover my data, please help

    Hello

First of all, do not use the hard drive. This can make things sunk. A few things may already be unrecoverable. I would even delete the drive letter to stop inadvertently automated processes to use.

There are two ways I can think of.

    1. buy a partitioning software disk that supports the undelete partition. On windows XP PartitionMagic was a very good product if symantec will still sell it. Given that Symantec has continued to develop, I had to switch to product partition Paragon. Sound was trash to some things, cloning in particular a double boot with loads of partitions - it has an undelete function which I didn't use. The fact that you have created a new partition could mean that the restoration may not work. You may need to delete the current, probably empty, partition everything first and then perform the restoration.

    2. buy a data recovery software that will scan the hard drives, including the unpartitioned space. I chose R-Studio and it was very good stuff even recovery from hard drives that fail. It was not 100% effective, but it is perhaps down to the severity of failure rather than the product. In situations like yours, it was very effective.

Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

Hi there everyone. I'm trying to mix in 5.1 surround sound. I started a project and assign the 5.1, and I can edit everything very well. The problem is I can't track my results, because the hearing does not seem to recognize that I have a 5.1 (Logitech Z-5500 Digital 5.1) hooked through 6 direct channels. It is not recognize more than two channels. Anyone know what is happening?

Unfortunately, your sound card is not a true 6-channel device. Like many of this PC low-cost sound systems, it is only capable of producing surround audio decoding of the already encoded sound sources. Ms. base drivers provided show only base two-channel stereo input and output for hearing.

To be able to monitor true 5.1 surround channels, you will likely spend your audio interface to something with the release of six discrete channels.

  • I deleted the partition system, pure can not install Win 7 Pro because of the error message

So, I tried to install Windows 10 on a friends old PC (acer aspire 5920g). I bought a new SSD and traded with the HARD disk, performed a clean install of win 10 and realized that I should return to Win 7 after that too many things were not working well. So, I formatted the disk (230 GB) and system reserved partition. (I took the SSD and put it in an external enclosure that I have connected to my PC to 10 Win.)
I didn't know much about this system reserved partition but read that it didn't really need when you want to perform a clean installation of another OS. After the partition reserved for formatting system, he said 500 GB of unallocated space. I didn't quite understand that the reader is a 240 GB Sandisk SSD. I put the other (230GB) partition to active and primary with the management tool disc to win 10.
I put in the Win 7 DVD and change the setting of this kind it would be DVD first the bios startup. However, the Win 7 installation dialog does not appear at all. Instead BACK gives me this message: 'an operating system not found. Try disconnecting all drives that do not contain an operating system. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart. »

I tried different startup commands but did not get any result. What should I do next? How can I make a simple clean install of Windows 7 Pro (on the new SSD)?

There are no problems reported by those who follow these steps for a Clean install Windows 10 Upgrade

then you might want to try again and this time stick to these steps.

Otherwise clean reinstall Windows 7 you can turn on with the installation media checked in the player by pressing F12 to Acer to get a Boot Menu, choose the bootable media, custom Setup, to the selection screen of disc to remove all partitions until the unallocated space, and then click next to leave automatic formatting and start the installation.  With the Installer do the partition creation and formatting avoid you unnecessary problems second guess the necessary system partitions and you can ignore all this.

All the other things you did remove the HDD to format in another PC were unnecessary because that's all that is needed.  If other installation problems arise when it's properly you must follow these additional steps to fix failed Installation Windows 7 , that cover all possible problems.

  • Partition reserved system and several versions of Windows

    Separated from this thread.

I noticed that later "versions" of windows 7 (Pro), instead of a 100 GB partition, build a 357 MB system reserved partition. This is also the case for all / most new systems that we receive with Win 7 Pro preinstalled where I work (part-time).

This is also the case with the refurbished Dell OptiPlex 980 I bought last fall. It came with a 350 GB hard drive, the system reserved Partition was / is 357 Mb.

After cloning partitions of windows 7 to a 750 GB hard drive and the narrowing of the Win 7 Pro ("C") 152,49 GB partition I installed Windows Pro 8.1 in its own partition in the GB 545,79 remaining.

Windows 8.1 installed correctly, without any problem, using the system partition reserved 357 existing Mo created by windows 7. All major worked from the go and are still working fine today.

I noticed that when I start to Win 7 Pro, & assigns the drive letter "D" to the partition Win 8.1 Pro and Win 8.1 Pro did the same thing with the partition Win 7 Pro. Of course, the boot partition must be 'C '. Apparently, modern operating systems are "smart enough" to recognize this and make the appropriate drive letter reassignments.

Another note, I have two older systems Dell OptiPlex 620 (the two 32-bit) provided with Windows XP Pro installed. On the same Machine, after the "C" shrinking Windows XP to 25 GB Partition, I installed Windows 7 Pro (32 bit) on the remaining 207 GB. On the second machine, I shrunk Windows XP Pro 60 GB and installed Win 7 Pro on the 125 GB remaining. All of the work so far is fine.

Windows 7 Pro did not build a Reserved Partition system on each computer (Opti-630). I'm assuming it uses the Win XP partitions on them. However, if I remember correctly, Bitlocker is not available in 32-bit versions, so reserved partition is not necessary. Perhaps the other files normally placed in this score are in a "special feature" in Win XP partition?

    Norm Ives

    Norman,

There is some legacy features that are present in all versions of Windows, even Windows 10. One of them is the label C partition to the HARD drive partition where Windows is installed. At the time, when MS-DOS was in use and Windows 1.0, Windows was available as an add-on to the only existing MS-DOS and Windows cannot be installed directly without MS-DOS. Meanwhile, there were two present floppy drives, 'A' and 'B '. 'A' has the files of an operating system and 'B' is the disk storage for user files. So when the HARD drive came, it was the label 'C '. When Windows 3.1 came out, it was a huge plant at this time that it required a HARD drive for installation. The C label was added to HARD drive so HARD drive added. This legacy is maintained to this day. So you see what Windows installation, the installed Windows partition will be labeled as C only. It is also the reason why, every time that you add a floppy drive, the automatically assigned driver letter is or B and nothing else.

Coming to the system reserved partition, it contains the boot files needed to start Windows (and also of BitLocker data, if any), but present in the Windows version where BitLocker is not present (as in the case of Windows 7 Home Premium). Up to Windows XP, the boot settings were managed by a file by the name boot.ini, present in C:\ (at the root of C:\). Then when you upgrading or switching from Windows XP, and that no unformatted partition is available, this means that a new partition cannot be created. In this case, the boot files will be will deposit in the Windows installation partition only. So system reserved partition will be created during the new installation of Windows Vista or later, but if upgraded from Windows XP, startup files will be deposit in the installed Windows partition only.

  • HP ENVY 17-N078CA laptop: seeking the machine with windows 8.1 - and the upgrade to 10.

    Hi all

I am looking at buying a machine to re-furb.

    HP ENVY 17-N078CA laptop

The machine has windows 8.1 and I wanted to know if there was problems with upgrade to windows 10.

    edillard

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about upgrading your PC to Win10 and wanted to help.

While HP has not tested your PC with Win10 and has not certified it will work, the good news is that HP does not provide drivers for your PC Win10: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-envy-17-n000-notebook-pc-touch/7777355/model/8429748#Z7_3054ICK0K8UDA0AQC11TA930O2

If this page does not display the windows 10 when you open it, then click Edit and select Windows 10 in the menu drop-down.

Unfortunately, the Win10 GoBack function is NOT reliable, and that can leave you with a corrupt machine that will require the factory reset and lose all that on it, to get it working again.

You can avoid this by making an image backup to an external hard drive or a USB drive using Macrium reflect (MR), which provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Satellite P300 - player of the Partition with Vista

    Hello.

I bought a P300-PSPC4C-SE308C demo, and it has installed Vista. I want to downgrade to XP. The drive is 300 GB and is distributed as a single drive. I would like to partition a drive C: and D:. I went into the BIOS and changed the AHCI on the 'compatibility' mode, if I understand correctly that he need to change than the AHCI setting, so that the laptop to 'see' XP. Now, I need to partition and format the drive. At first, I tried to install my Partition Magic 8, but it does not work with Vista. I tried to use "fdisk" to boot Windows 98 drive program, and he acknowledged only the reader as 49GB.

I need to know how to partition and format the drive and then install my XP. Any and all help would be appreciated.
