The position of a paragraph style

Hello
I have a paragraph of text within a div of CS style if I want to "BOLD" topic, stressed and red, I've highlight it and change its properties, which, I believe, and then creates a style.
I have a good way to do this or is there a method more profficient.

    I know how to insert a hyphen at the beginning of a paragraph style, but how indicate I want chips to start on the 3rd line of the paragraph and stop 2-the last line of the paragraph?

    You will need to enter manually. Styles cannot add text, only format.

    Automated bullets are only accessible to the general public for the start of a paragraph and cannot apply to the middle. You can use find/replace to add, possibly, but it doesn't look like me you have a model that is sufficiently well defined to do any sort of work of automation.

  • Change the Format of a paragraph Style Figure

    I work in Adobe InDesign 6.0 (PC) on a Dell laptop.

    I copied the text from a file and placed it in another file. Unfortunately, the figure numbers all State the former chapter number (in this instance, "6-#" as 6-1, 6-2, etc.). What I want to do is for the numbers to tell 8-1, 8-2, etc., because they are now in Chapter 8.

    I found this much: according to the style of paragraph to these figures, I right-click and select 'change {paragraph Style name} '. Ok. Then in the window that opens, 'Paragraph Style Options', select "Bullets and numbers" in the left menu. Ok.

    Now, here's my problem. I believe that the key to the entire mystery to be included in the section entitled "Style numbering." Yet, I can not Flip off the fields presented here. They include:

    Format: I guess that's the numbering style I want. Currently it says «1, 2, 3, 4...» I left that alone.

    Number: This field contains "Figure ^.» ^ H ^ = ^ # ». What is with the 'H' and all the symbols of hat and all that? What do I need to let him say so that my numbers read "Figure 8-1", "Figure 8-2" and so on? . "

  • In the library grayed out paragraph styles

    I have a few paragraph styles in my library that have been created in Illustrator. In Photoshop, they are grayed out and cannot be applied.

    How can I get these styles of the library to work in Photoshop?

    styles.gif

    Paragraph styles are simply not one of the types of library that supports Photoshop. Note the bottom of the library panel in Photoshop and Illustrator, you will see a different set of icons representing the types of items that you can add to the library from a document (and so who can be added in a document).

    For Photoshop, these are:

    Graphics, Style of character, layer Style, and foreground color.

    (See: cloud creative libraries in Photoshop)

    For Illustrator, these are:

    Graphics, paragraph Style, character Style, and foreground color.

  • Table of contents for the edition of ePub paragraph style

    I am trying to figure if InDesign can allow us to the editor the dynamic table of contents. What we have is essentially the following:

    Chapter number (single paragraph style)

    Chapter title (single paragraph style)

    First paragraph (single paragraph style)

    We want that the ToC that gets pulled up in an eBook reader to show this:

    Chapter 1: Chapter title

    Chapter 2: Chapter title

    At present, only InDesign appears to export each as a specific paragraph style, without setting them on the same line side by side. We're stuck with:

    Chapter 1

    Chapter title

    Chapter 2

    Chapter title

    Does anyone know of a way to export the ePub is what we want rather than this broken hirarchically way?

    There is no good way to do it. We must either go to the ePub after export, or change the style, so there's a return between the chapter number and chapter title instead of a return. The second option will involve completely restyling, and get in there colon will be delicate.

  • It is possible to refresh the bound text without paragraph styles?

    I know there are a quite similar, unanswered question. - But I need set the style for a text box.

    I had the word formats changed in my indesign formats easily.

    But when the palette of links and the record edition of the original document it back after removal simply a letter Indesign uses the word formats.

    Tried the options link without success.

    User error or a bug?

    Straight, after re - link a word document once (except the links palette) refresh does what it is supposed to do.

    After that he don't change not styles of paragraph any more.

    In my opinion, this behavior is not as unwilling. It is a Bug.

  • Set of tabs in the paragraph Style

    Hi, I create paragraph Styles in JavaScript. I looked but couldn't find absolutely no info on the configuration of the tabs in a paragraph style.

    I'm too tired? Can someone point me in the right direction please?

    Thank you

    Ben

    Too tired, Yes must be

    Add one to the tabStops property. Before adding your own, make sure it is empty (that is, if you don't want to add to an existing tab leader).

    Not tried, but I think it's as easy as

    t = myStyle.tabStops.add ();

    t.Alignment = TabStopAlignment.CENTER_ALIGN;

    t.leader = '?';

    t.position = "3mm";

    - or use 'PROPERTIES' to fix everything at once by tabstop:

    myStyle.tabStops.add ({alignment:TabStopAlignment.CENTER_ALIGN, leader: "?", position: "3 mm"});

  • Problem affecting the existing paragraph style

    Hi all!

    I have searched all morning and can't find a lot of good documentation on the use of existing scripts paragraph styles to HAVE. I know that you can build a live, but more specifically, I want to add in the tabs and don't see this as an option to add paragraph styles in one of the refs to javascript.

    I do an "export log" that captures the version, date, time, artist name/layers assigned to help our team of quality control. My problem is that any new text added to the box ignores existing paragraph styles, and I do not see so he can apply what I have in the file.

    I can find the style, so I don't know it exists, and I can also draw the text box, so I think that these paths are correct and working, it's just the applyTo seemingly does not. Here is my code below:

    //get the textBox with the sign off content
    exportLogText = docRef.textFrames.getByName("RT_Signoff");
    //add the sign off text
    exportLogText.contents += "v. " + versionLetter + "\t" + theDate + "\t" + timeStamp + "\tExport by: " + username + "\tLayers: " + layersExported;
    exportLogText.contents += "\r"
    //identify the "Export_Log" paragraph style that already exists in the AI doc
    var paraStyle = docRef.paragraphStyles.getByName("Export_Log");
    for (ps = 0; ps < exportLogText.paragraphs.length; ps++){
        paraStyle.applyTo(exportLogText.paragraphs[ps], true);
    }
    redraw();

    Once it hits the applyTo line, the script stops. I found similar posts claiming this code should work, so I don't know what I'm missing! Any help is appreciated.

    I found a similar code here:a paragraph style for blocks of text in the document

    It's really a matter of aesthetics, but I can't stand the text to look like this:

    issue1.PNG

    When he could look like this!

    issue2.PNG

    Looks like it was a problem with my file which was causing the anomaly, not the script. Things seem to be working now! Thanks for the input guys!

  • Specified police need to be changed in all the paragraph styles

    Hi all

    Y at - it an option to change a font that is used in many styles of paragraph to a few other fonts.

    Thanks in advance,

    Try this:

    var myDoc=app.activeDocument;
    var pstyles = myDoc.allParagraphStyles;
    for (var a=1; a

    explanations:

    allParagraphsStyles Gets an array of all paragraph styles in the doc, whatever the group that might be in. myDoc.paragraphStyles.everyItem () Gets a collection of all the styles of paragraphs outside groups.

    not run the table for 1 paragraph styles, 0, because the first is 'no style paragraph' and it is read-only. trying to change it will cause an error.

    using a regular expression to match the name of the police because appliedFont.name returns a string like this: font_style font_name {tab} for example: 'Minion Pro\tSemibold subtitle.

    It will be useful.

  • [win] [js] [cs4] find/replace the paragraph styles without losing the replacements the

    Hi guys I need some help here.

    I created a javascript script that will find and replace paragraph styles for the DOCFILE with indesign paragraph styles. everything works fine but the problem is that, when she applies paragraph styles, he loses all replacements the. I tried:

    changetext (false);

    but his does not work, this is a kind of conditional parameter that I can put in the function changetext() so that it used clear local overrides?

    Thank you.

    Horse

    Use findGrep() (or findText()) instead of changeText(). This returns an array of items found. Then, you can loop through the array and apply a paragraph style without erasing the replacements (the 2nd parameter must be false).

    Example:

    Main();

    function Main() {
        var foundItem;
        var doc = app.activeDocument;

        app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = NothingEnum.NOTHING;

        app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = ".+";
        app.findGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "Body text";

        var foundItems = doc.findGrep();

        for (var i = 0; i < foundItems.length; i++) {
            foundItem = foundItems[i];
            foundItem.applyParagraphStyle(doc.paragraphStyles.item("Body"), false);
        }

        app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = NothingEnum.NOTHING;
    }

    I have a code which changes the font of my paragraph style, but I also need to change the font style. I have the following code and the applied font style line is to throw an error.

    myStyle.appliedFont = "Microsoft JhengHei";
    myStyle.appliedFontStyle = "Bold";

    RichardM0701 wrote:

    As in the model DOM is misleading or my code is wrong?

    Surely not! (This first one, by the way.) Check this page of DOM; ther eis no such thing as "appliedFontStyle" for paragraphs.

    You can give a more his style associated with an object police do (what you must look first), or as a string, but the string must have a special format:

    "family style [tab]".

    and since this is Javascript, you must type the tab as '\t ': character

    myStyle.appliedFont = "Microsoft JhengHei\tBold";

    (You also must be sure that this police more combo style actually exists, or well ID will always throw an error.)

    This 'trick' is not in the presentation of the DOM commands, because (uh) Adobe don't think to mention. But you should not use the command for the basic syntax reference, for that you need to read Adobe's Javascript Programming Guide, and I'm sure he gets mentioned in there.

  • Count the unused paragraph styles

    I tried to put the name of the style and the group, because that's how it works if you do it manually, IE body text (body). But it does not work.

    Can you make best use of all styles of paragraph in your document instead of styles of paragraph of the document, which should access the independent styles of groups? You would have to give on the name using as reference (probably a good thing anyway) and use the style itself (in your find/replace).
