the printer communication

I have a dell v505 printer (Wireless) and a computer Studio 17 laptop. The printer print is no longer and the error says communication is not available. I tried to unplug, to reinstall. Resettlement show it worked, the wireless connection showed that it worked, but I still get the same message. No printing. Any ideas?

Thank you for your help.

My McAfee set up was a bit different than the one you showed above. While I was unable to follow your directions, I contacted McAfee and allowed a repair on the remote control.

  • No Dell AIO 948 printer with the printer communication

Original title: what is the problem with my printer?

My computer does not communicate with my printer.  The printer itself seems to work fine, but when I try to print from a program soething, I get a popup saying that there is no communication with the printer.  I am running Vista for a Dell Inspiron 530 and a Dell AIO 948 printer.

  • Error 'Unable to communicate with the printer' HP 8600

    Hi all

I found a number of discussions on this problem but have not yet found a solution that works for me.

I recently installed a new of Officejet Pro 8600 on my network.

It is the default printer, shared, wired, static IP defined in router and the printer.

When I try to print every morning, I get the printer communication error.

The router shows as a device connected to the correct IP address, I can ping, I can access the web page with printer IE (which reports the status as it is connected), the HP printing & doctor reports Scan everything works correctly (but I can't print a test page), I can print the test directly from the printer page, the printer console indicates that the network is configured correctly the calendar switch option is disabled, but we cannot print any documents of any cable or wireless to pc (win 7 and win 8), and we cannot airprint from our iphones and ipads... until I have power cycle the printer.

(Printer, router, cable modem, that all remain under voltage 7 x 24, plugged into UPS).

Some participants of the forum have suggested that it is a question of power saving mode, no correction.

But it's really not practical to have to run to the printer for this cycle before we can print from our cell phones.

Is there a solution?  Maybe I forgot something in my config.

    Thank you.

3/27 patch: Airprint for iphones and ipads work while printing not because of windows pc.

    Update:

By MissTeriLynn suggestion, I created a traffic rule in my Norton Firewall to open all ports, incoming and outgoing, between the printer and my desktop PC.  As a result, no change. I always get the message 'Scanner communication cannot be established' when you try to scan interface desktop HP 8600, or from the printer console. (Scanning from the integrated Web server still works).

Also, when I tried to install the update of the firmware of the printer, the HP installation software could not find the printer on the network until I have turned to bike it.

I discover that this communication problem is unrelated to the low power of the printer.

Whenever I restart the PC, communications is lost and can only be restored by cyclic power the printer.

  • "communication not available with the printer" message when you try to print to a Lexmark 1270 x all-in-one

I am running windows xp family.  I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden, I get this message when I try and print to my lexmark x 1270 "communication not available with the printer. I tried every troubleshooter, I contacted Lexmark support that they gave up, saying: it must be a file is missing from the windows registry, you can help me?

It seems that if you say that the pilots were not reinstalled successfully.  What was the mystery file that could not be found?

Do you remember how the software has been uninstalled?  Was something else than the control panel > Add / Remove Programs (or the link "Uninstall" from start > all programs) used?

If you do not really clean things, attempts to reinstall the printer drivers may actually just end up putting the old drivers back in place.

This is the easiest way to uninstall and reinstall the printer drivers: Article 1.  The critical step is #4.

This page has more detailed advice for cleaning things out before you reinstall: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

I asked the firewall and antivirus applications because sometimes, some security software may interfere with the printers.  This shouldn't be a problem with the firewall of Windows XP and Microsoft Security Essentials.

Finally, your problem could end up being hardware related.  Lexmark support has no hardware troubleshooting operation?  The manual for your x 1270 says:

All-in-One is not communicating with the computer

    1. disconnect and reconnect both ends of the USB cable. For more help, see the
    installation documentation.
2 unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, plug it in again, and
Press Power. For more information, refer to the installation documentation.
3 restart the computer. If the problem continues, remove and then reinstall
the software. For more information, see page 16. [which ask you to remove the software using the link "Uninstall" - which is not complete, as described above]

If you have another type of printer USB cable, you should try it exchanges.  Ideally, you need to connect to the printer on another computer, but maybe it's not convenient for you.

  • How can I "Enable bidirectional Communication" on the printer?

I need whereas my printer in my hard drive again.  I put it again and now I can not anything on this subject.   But he came to say, please turn the settings to "Enable bidirectional Communication" on the printer properties dialog box.

I don't understand what you mean by, "I need my printer whereas in my hard drive once again" unless you try to say you want to reinstall your printer.

To enable bidirectional support, click on:

Start-> Control Panel-> devices and printers

Right-click on your printer, and then select printer properties. Now click on the Ports tab, put a checkmark in the box down to enable bidirectional support , and then click OK.

  • I try to print, get the error message "Please enable setting"Enable bidirectional communication"in the printer properties dialog box.

When I tried to print I got the message (please turn on the setting "enable bidirectional Communication" in the printer properties dialog box ") but I need to know how to do this.

On the start menu, menu on the side right should be a button devices and printers, which will bring you to the page printers. There you can find your printer and right click on it and select Properties. This would be the place to enable two-way communication, but beyond that, I can't help you as I don't know what would the Properties window for your printer.

    Hi Nick,

    1. What is the exact model of the printer number?

2 is this problem limited to any specific application such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word etc.?

It seems that some of the 1200 Series printers is not compatible with Windows 7. You can enter the number of exact model and research for more information.

If the printer is compatible and you are always faced with the question, you can proceed with the steps.

    Method 1:

  • Color Laserjet 5550dtn: slow down communication with the configuration of the printer

My Color Laserjet 5550dtn suddenly lost the capacity of its network - as evidenced by the disappearance of the network address in the printer display panel.   I replaced the jetdirect 615n card, and I could then access the installation of I/O again and set the address of the printer that it had before (192.168.1.106)

The printer seems to work OK, but when I try to access the printer via my browser, using its address, screens appear, but after a very long delay - sometimes up to two or three minutes.   Similar delays occur every time I have change the Access tab.

I put the mask 255.255.255.0, and the DNS server on 192.168.1.1 (the address of the router system) and have disabled other protocols except TCP/IP.

I don't remember the exact settings I had before, so is there anything else I may have missed that causes this extremely slow response?

    Any help would be appreciated

Sorry for not answering before, but my wife is damaged the problems of column vertebral too take precedence over all the rest for a while.

I started to have more problems, leading to no communication via the ethernet card at all and only work with USB connection.   I bit the bullet and bought another printer of opportunity - without the cartridges of ink, which works very well, and commicates quickly to local net address.

I saved some of the components of the old machine, so the expense was not so bad really.

The original machine was always a little suspicious, but it was also used, maybe, I had a bad Control Board.

    Thanks for the useful suggestions.
