• Vista: The device can not start (error Code 10) for a USB CDC device which works fine in XP

  I have a USB device 2.0 DCC which works very well under all of our Windows XP machines, but not based on Vista.  The device uses the usbser.sys driver and emulation of the virtual Comm Port.

  The text of the listing shows the same information on Xp and Vista, except under vista it shows no open pipes.  Shows Device Manager: device can not start (error Code 10).

  Using Vista I can't connect to the vista of CDC through concentrators or device to any other device wireless hub except for a Dlink Wireless hub, which has a layer of software between the CDC device and the PC.  With Xp, it all works very well on more than one PC, with Vista, there are questions.  I use the INF manufacturer provided for Vista, still no results.

  Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

  I am not able to start some services to get connected wireless.  In Device Manager the poster adapter works correctly.  The WIFI light is on.  Start Windows Wireless Service bar lights up, but the service does not just start.  I have run chkdsk and several other parts but registry cleaners I keep coming up empty.  Help, please.

  Finally, something works and does not require a complete reinstall of the OS. I was so scared of it because Asus does not save a physical copy of the Recovery Manager on the hard drive, and somehow my backup discs (6 disks, waste of my DVD: O) don't work at all after spending an hour by burning.

  What happened was I used RegTweaker to do a cleaning of registry on my Win7, my computer worked faster, but I lost my WLan service and no matter what I was doing nothing worked, until I stumbled upon your post! I have read more than 50 pages of Web/forum sites and tried probably suggested and none of them worked.

  I tried:

  (1) Microsoft Winsock32 Fix
  (2) replacing Winsock dll
  (3) Yes Netsh wlan with the set command
  (4) order of Netsh reset catalog
  (5) LSP Fix.exe
  (6) right click 'Manage' on computer and everything related to the WLAN + dependencies on "automatic".

  I spent 8 hours and none of the above worked. Apparently a lot of people have the same problem after using a registry cleaner. He has tried, tested and proven. I did the registry cleaning on 2 computers and next thing I know on reboot, it is that the WLAN Service went AWOL. My first suspicion is gone to a missing or corrupted Winsock, but I never thought that a simple change of 2 files in the registry would solve the problem.   Step 1: Click the button START
  Step 2: In the search box, type "regedt32" (of course, do not include the ""), right-click on the result of the research and the "Run as Administrator".

  Step 3: Click 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE', should extend out to a list of things
  Step 4: Next, choose 'SYSTEM', is expected to increase again
  Step 5: Choose "CurrentControlSet", develops again
  Step 6: Select 'Services', develops into a great big list of things

  Step 7: Click on "Dhcp", the right window shows the files in this folder
  Step 8: Double click on "DependOnService".
  Step 9: Remove all the words in the text, except "Afd" box, and then click OK. You are done here

  Step 10: Then under 'Services', are looking for "EapHost", this should be a few records below Dhcp step 11: same thing, double-click on the file "DependOnService".
  Step 12: Delete everything in the text are and click OK. You are finished.

  Now close everything and RESTART WINDOWS. Your WLan should be back and work once at startup of your computer. Hope that makes you win like he saved me. Thanks to an original poster for the wonderful of the resolution. Your message has been almost too obscure to find, but I'm glad that this has been RESOLVED!   Thank you for your help, I tried to completely uninstall Microsoft redistributable and then I just reinstalled directly from microsoft, I think it was a corrupted update which screwed things anyway thanks for your help

  I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

   

  Method 1:

  I suggest you to check if the Printer Spooler service is started.

  a. Click Start and click Run.

  b. type services.msc in the box run.

  c. find the print spooler service and right click on it.

  d. click Properties and verify that the startup type is set to automatic.

  Method 2:

  Step 1:

  To start in safe mode, follow the steps mentioned below.

  a. restart and keep tapping F8 until you reach the start menu.

  b. Select safe mode and press ENTER.

  Step 2:

  In safe mode, delete the printer and spool driver files. To do so, start Microsoft Windows Explorer, and then delete all files and folders in the following two folders (where C: is the drive where you installed Windows XP):

  If you see something like this:

  Cannot start service on Local computer print spooler.
  Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.

  Error 1075 means "ERROR_SERVICE_DEPENDENCY_DELETED".

  This means that there is some Service think that it depends on to start the Print Spooler Service that is missing.  It's maybe the printing or drivers that have been uninstalled software.

  If really, the dependency service exists and simply not work (dependence, Services must be started and running), you will get an error like this:

  Cannot start service on Local computer print spooler.
  Error 1068: The dependency service or group could start.

  You now or you already had all of the installed Lexmark printers?

  If the Service print spooler used to work well, do you have added or removed all printers since he worked?

  To view your Services, click Start, run and enter in the box:

  services.msc

  Click OK to open the Services Applet.

  Highlight the Print Spooler Service, right-click and choose properties you can see what is happening.  You will be especially interested in the startup (generally set to automatic) type and the items listed in the Dependencies tab.

  I need to delete the Service jose as a dependency for the Print Spooler Service (and leave just the rpcss Service), then the Print Spooler Service will start.

  If you don't see the problem in the Print Spooler service dependencies tab, see what are actually of a command prompt window Print Spooler Service dependencies.  To do this, click on start run and in the type box:

  cmd

  Click OK to open a command prompt window.

  In the command prompt window, query the spooler to print (spooler) Service by entering the following command:

  sc qc spooler

  Whatever it is listed under needs of DEPENDENCIES is running before starting the print spooler.

  If there are DEPENDENCIES listed for things that are more installed, you can fix it, but first of all, we need to know what is indicated, then we can remove the ones that are not needed.

  If you make adjustments, do not forget to restart your system and make sure that changes "stick".

  Do, or do not. There is no test.

However, some were more difficult - I had to activate my antivirus via safe mode and I'm still unable to fix the WIFI and wired Auto Config service - I have fixed them on automatic but that they do not. When I try to start it manually, the service of 1068 error appears.
  Finally, please do not suggest the system restore because I did restore my system, and I can't do now restore either because the error 1068 points.
  PLEASE HELP, IT IS REALLY URGENT!
