The print spooler is stopped and does not restart. I have a laptop with Windows 7 and the printer is a HP Officejet 8600 (network). My wife has the same laptop model and has no problem with printing. Any help you can give would be welcome.

I followed method 2 above. When I Rt click Spooler printer restart remained gray when I click on START, I get the message "Windows failed to start the service on local computer print spooler. ERROR 1053 the service did not demand launch or timely control.

I'm trying to update my printer via the steps outlined on the HP website. However, when identify my printer and try to install the revised version of the software of my printer continually says its busy. This means that the printer will not update.
When I first tried this software update the status of the printer was ready however after failing at the start of this first attempt each following update failed because the printer is busy. I turned he walks several times and even turned off then the option automatic updates with no luck.
Without being able to change that status, I can't update the printer. I know that it is able to connect to the network, because it checks and tells me that he has the latest software version available fo, so I am very confused as to how I can fix this.
Any suggestions?

From your description, I understand that you cannot refresh the printer as it is stuck in the free/busy information.
We will perform a hard reset. To do this, leave the printer and unplug the power cable for 1 minute. I went to the Services page and started the spool to the printer and restarted (tried several times) and he still has the same error. Lexmark x 5470 print spooler keeps stopping
Everything was fine until last week. For some reason, I can print is no longer in Vista. He kept coming up with an error message that the spooler of sprint has stopped running. I would like to restart the spooler, but within seconds it would stop. I found a few articles on this problem & tried many fixs. None worked. I tried uninstalling the Lexmark x 5470 printer and reload the driver. After doing this, I tried to reload the driver from the Lexmark website, but when he tried to install the printer, he couldn't find / contact him.
