The question of the Uplink port speed
Hi there guys!
I want to set my 4 GB uplink port speed, but the UCSM show me only 1/10/20/40 GB. How do I change the port speed trought CLI?
Greetings.
Here's our UCS 2.0 running and I am able to adjust the speed of uplink FC

Question on the uplink ports 4507
Hello
The contractor for the 4507/4510, the 8th, a 8 GB 10 uplinks. Agree these uplinks as access to servers or VMware hosts ports, or are they only for inter switch links?
Thank you
Waqas
Hello
You can use them for what you want. They can connect to the virtual machines, stand-alone server, workstation, inter-switch etc... They can also be access or trunk ports.

Message from the USB port speed
I have a laptop HP Compaq NW8240 running on W7 last month recently, I plugged in a USB USBHUB04 of Linksys hub. It works fine but when I plug a flashdrive in there, it displays a message in the lower task bar "this USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a hi-speed USB 2.0 port. Should I have a missing driver? I thought that all USB ports on this laptop was 2.0.
Sorry that none of the steps that you took to remedy the problem.
You did exactly what I would have done it, so unfortunately, I couldn't even begin to tell you what to do next.
You may have to live with the status quo.
I wonder if this is a false message...
Your USB devices work more slowly than normal as a USB HARD drive or flash drive.
Data transfer seems slower than you're used to?

stop the ethernet uplink port will cause the port of the unit down
Dear all,
I want to make sure that this kind of network traffic will communicate internal fi.
I've disabled the uplink port and found the path of material has also declined.
Port of the device must road toward uplink port and then back to UCS server?
Thank you for the clarification.
Best regards
Dennis Dai
Expected behavior. By default, if there is no uplinks online & fwd, then all links South (Server binds and the ports of the device) will be used also to the bottom.
See the explanation of Abi here for more information how to change this behavior.
https://supportforums.Cisco.com/thread/2187144?TSTART=0
In short, we must change policy control of the network of the way of the material in the Hardware tab.

Consolidation and failover for the uplink on the Distributed switch port group
Hello
I have a problem with the implementation of a distributed switch, and I don't know I'm missing something!
I have a few guests with 4 of each physical cards. On the host eash I configured 2 virtual switches (say A and B), with 2 physical network by vSwitch using etherchannel adapter. Everything works fine for etherchannel and route based on the hash of the IP for the latter.
Recently, I decided to create two distributed switches and move the respective physical ports of virtual switches to this distributed switches. Once again, I want to configure etherchannel and route based on the hash of the IP. But when I open the settings for the uplink port group, aggregation and failover policies are grayed out and cannot be changed. Apparently they inherit configuration also but I don't know where!

You must set the card NIC teaming policy on trade in reality and not on the uplink group more expected.

Hi all
In the inventory menu-> networking in my vSphere client 4 I see that someone has set up several 'networks '.
How to understand which physical ports, they are assigned to, or understand how to route traffic. I know if I have a DMZ network and a NETWORK card out of the demilitarized zone, how to make a virtual machine use this port?
Thank you
C
Networking is via the use of virtual switches. The physical network are assigned to the virtual switch and the law as "uplink ports. There are three types of virtual switches:
- Internal only Virtual Switch - this provides networking remains completely inside you ESX host
- Virtual switch with the one uplink port - provides not only the networking between the ports conencted to the switch but provides also for the traffic to a physical network
- Virtual switch with 2 or more ports uplink - provides not only the networking between the ports conencted to the switch and provides for traffic to a physical network, but also allows for the grouping of NETWORK cards
All the networks for your ESX host going thorugh virtual switch management traffic and the vm. There are two types of ports that are connected to the virtual switch:
- VMkernel Port - used for your ESXi including vmotion and iSCSI host management traffic. In an ESX host, it is also called the Service Console Port. This port wiill assign its own IP to uniique
- Group of ports in Virtual Machine - your virtual machines will connect to the virtual machine port group - it does not get an IP address as the IP {address iss asasociated with the virtual amchine
When you look at your network in the client VI the right side will be the uplink ports - the physical posrts in your ESX host. The left side will be the or groups connected to the virtual switch ports

Connection EQL 6110 X (10G SFP +) PowerConnect 6224 10 Uplink ports
Dear friends,
Need your help...
Please let me know if I can connect EQL 6110 X (10 G SFP +) storage to ports 10 G SFP + PC 6224 for iSCSI to my servers on a local network connectivity that is 1 G.
Correct, do not use the uplink ports for Gigabit Ethernet switch for 10GbE tables. It can connect, but performance and stability will most likely suffer. So has been the experience of other customers who have tried to do.

Hello:
I'm lost
I know not if you have for example two uplink ports that belong to the same vlan, and two or more NICs for asociated to this VLAN, pinning happen dynamically
I don't know how to set up a VLAN and assign it to a vNIC
But I can't found how to link the uplink port to the VLAN in the UCS Manager
Can someone help me please
Thanks in advance
Al
Al,
In the end-host mode for ethernet, when you set vlan in the UCSM the vlan is automatically assigning / configured on all uplink and port of the server.
This is a chapter of the Guide to config:
However, since version 2.0, there is a feature in which you can control or confiure different VLAN on different uplink ports. This feature is characteristic L2-disjoint and here is a URL to configure:
I hope this helps!

Group of VDS uplink port setting
Hi all
I'm new to VDS.
I found that I can not change setting of group VDS uplink port image attached and many VDS menu editting is not editable.
I wonder why I can't edit VDS setting. Kindly pls advise.
This is because there is no need to put anything on the uplink.
Uplink port groups are distinctly different from normal port groups. There is absolutely no reason to have these settings on the uplink port groups, because they generate all the executives themselves and traffic simply forwards to the vNIC/vmk interfaces on port groups attached, there is no need to expose a Visual similarity like this again. These parameters and others like safety apply to groups of normal port only.

How to extract all the drives SAS/SATA and Ethernet port speed of the link command line?
Hello
Do you know if supports Windows OS built in order to extract all the SAS/SATA drives and ports Ethernet link speed?
i.e. for SATA3 drive it show 6 Gbps, for DIS3 drive it will show 12 Gbps, to present the current link speed.
i.e. for Ethernet 10 G, it will show 10 Gbit/s while the current connection speed is at 10 Gbps.
I need the command to create a batch file to run bike test to check all connection speeds are correct in each cycle the system power runs, if the Windows operating system does not support built in order to achieve this, please send us any tool of 3rd - party with the support of the command line to do this.
Thanks in advance.

VSAN membership down on the CF mapped uplink port
Hello
Since I upgrade Cisco UCS Manager, all frame and fabric of interconnections of version 2.2 (1), I have a few minor flaws.
I configure ports 31 and 32 as FC uplink ports and mapped each port to a vsan:
Port 31 = VSAN 'blue '.
32 port = "red" VSAN
(I know, it is not common to map two different VSAN to the same fabric, but I have to)
Since the update, I get minor flaws:
31--> FCoE or FC uplink port is broken on 'red' VSAN / membership-down
32--> FCoE or FC uplink port is broken on 'blue' VSAN / membership-down
I have no channels of port FC or FC enabled link mode. Interconnection of fabric is EHM.
Even in other tissues.
Can anyone help me or is it the same cosmetic problem as stated in the quote?
FCoE Uplink vsan membership fault for any vsan not configured upstream Symptom:
Fabric Vsan Membership Down fault message on FCoE uplink ports
Severity: Major
Code: F1083
Name: Fabric Vsan Membership Down
Conditions:
Observed with UCSM 2.1 and when FCoE uplink port is configured on the Fabric Interconnect
Workaround:
None.Error message is cosmetic.
Thanks in advance

Hello Danny,
Yes, it is a cosmetic issue in UCSM 2.2.1
the question is followed by
https://Tools.Cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/ CSCum89468
The one that you cited ( CSCud81857 ) is specific to the rising FI FCoE in version 2.1 of UCSM.

Fujitsu Windows 7 laptop (all USB2)
used the full software and installed a printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a Series as a network printer.
The printer installed fine and don't have USB connection
All the software and scanning twain installed, so I was able to scan the copy etc.
I could browse and choose my PC from the front panel of the printer
However, it was Tuesday confirmed to a friend that their printer would work on a new laptop - bought the laptop
Fujitsu - but more recent model with 3 USB ports
I have install and then used the same FULL configured driver to be installed (V14)
selected as a network printer and then, during the installation, I get an error hardware error USB and USB drivers
All the USB works, that I've used - BUT the printer is networked and no USB used
tried to download the driver and install it-exactly the same question
SO I configure using the devices and printers 'add printer' network and installed
I can print OK
BUT no analysis facilities
and on the façade - cannot see the new PC to scan to
The only real difference, is that this PC has USB3 and only mine has USB2
DO not know why on a network installation USB even when searching for
It's a problem because Drivet package not has not been updated for USB3 - y at - it a patch?
Thanks for any help / advice
Hi etaf,.
I guess the short answer is: Yes, the problem with the software and the 3.0 Port.
The long answer with a possible work around is as follows: first of all, the software looks for minimum requirements. Because the software is older, he doesn't know what a 3.0 port. You are right when you say that it should work since you do not use the USB and use wireless instead, but this is not the case.
There is something we can try, but I can't guarantee it will work. I thought first we could connect a USB cable and run the software made to force the software to see the USB port, but then the software wouldn't even get far enough because you can't plug the cable to the most later in the installation.
My second thought and most promising suggestion is to connect the USB cable (although we do normally not until the software prompts us to) and use the installation wizard HP Print to get the insteaad of software to use the CD or download from the printer driver page. Still, I can't say with certainty that it works, but I don't see why it would not be worth a try.
If it works, and we get the software installed you can convert the USB connection to a wireless connection using the software. Fingers crossed! Download and run the with the following link. Printer HP install wizard for Windows
If this does not work, or you don't want to bother with it (not worth trying), I might consider getting a new model of the printer. You can even call HP. They might be able to offer a discount on a newer model. If you are in the Canada, U.S. dial 800-474-6836 or you can Contact HP worldwide.

Service Pack 3 for Windows XP does not recognize that it is connected to the USB ports. I get a notice that something has been plugged, but Windows fails to recognize regardless of the question.
Disconnect all USB storage.
Run this tool by do right click and choose 'run as administrator '.
Of course, all first extract it:
http://www.Uwe-Sieber.de/files/drivecleanup.zip
If your XP is 32 bits, use the Win32 folder.
Reset.
If you still can't find the drive, assign it a drive letter in disk management.

WRT350n - what is the speed of the WAN port?
Hello
Virginmedia in the United Kingdom have 50 MB download capability now that I am interested in buying. I was advised to check that my current router (wrt350n V2 firmware v2.00.18) is able to handle this speed on its WAN port before you sign up. It is not clear on the data sheet if the WAN port is gigabut able ehternet, as well as the 4 ethernet ports, and I wanted to ask you just to be absolutely sure.
Any help or clarification gratefully received.
Snert
As the router that you have its a gigabyte wireless router bits, and all the LAN port at the back of the router are the Giga bit Ports LAN. Your router will work with the speed of 50 MB, and you should be able to go online from all your computers.
