    ·         If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start, and then press F8.

    1. In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select last good known Configuration and press ENTER.
    2. If your computer has multiple operating systems installed, use the arrow keys to select the operating system that you want to start using the last good known Configuration, and then press ENTER. Windows will then resume starting normally.

  • Windows Vista Home Premium update froze during the 'configuration' June 30, 2009.

    Received notification of five updates to install on my computer Windows Vista Home Premium, one of them being Internet Explorer 8.   All the downloaded slowly.   Each of them appeared to install, but slowly and I left the computer while he was installing the 3rd update.   When I came back it had evolved in the 'Configuration' screen (always see after there are updates and it restarts) and sat there for hours.   It reads "Configuring updates: stage 3 of 3, 0% complete.  The percentage of nevers turns off 0%.   I finally turned off the computer and when she started he said windows had not closed properly so I chose the Safe Mode option.   He immediately went the same configuration screen.  I left it again for 4 hours, but no change.   What should I do?

    The laptop is a HP tablet PC.

    Here's how to uninstall the ones you don't want.

    And how to change the settings of update and IE8 HIDE update!

    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it

  • After WSUS downloaded and installed the most recent Windows XP and 7 updates, we encountered the following error: page of the Intranet Web displayed in Internet Explorer (8 or 9) is on SERVER_A

    After that WSUS installed and downloaded the most recent Windows XP and 7 updates, we encountered the following error:

    The Web page of the Intranet being viewed in Internet Explorer (8 or 9) is on SERVER_A
    and the page contains a link to a file on a network share on the Serveur_B, making the href path something like
    'http://SERVER_B/myShare/myDocument.doc '.
    ... then it does NOT work.

    If the Intranet Web page being read in IE (8 or 9) SERVER_A on
    and the page contains a link to a file on SERVER_A, making the href path something like
    'http://IP..ADDRESS/myDocument.doc '.
    ... then it does not work.

    Before these updates, the system worked flawlessly.  We try to identify the update that caused this problem, but 28 of them fell on a Tuesday.  (22/11/2011).   These questions are the same with IE8 or IE9 and WindowsXP and Windows7.

    Has anyone seen this problem?

  • during the windows vista pack 2 update my antivirus will become obsolete?

    during the windows vista pack 2 update my antivirus will become obsolete?

    Hi victor,

    It would be useful to know the name and the version of the antivirus program that you use. However, in general (and frankly I can't think an exception) upgrade Vista SP1 to SP2 will not make your out-of-date antivirus.  In fact, it will improve the overall security of your system.  But just to be on the good side, I suggest that you update your AV software once you have completed the upgrade to SP2 and installed all the additional Windows updates which will become available once you do this (and you may need to run a few times to get everything as some may be presented until others have been installed).

    If you want suggestions of security software, please post your version of Vista (e.g., 32-bit Vista Business) as well as the names and versions of any software security you are currently using or have used or had installed even if you've never used (and when the definitions for the software in use have been updated).  These suggestions will be excellent and work well together (even if you can not install two AV programs at the same time, these are not all the AV programs but still aid in the detection and removal of malware, viruses and spyware.  And they are all completely FREE - nothing we suggest will not cost you even a penny and that they will be as good if not better that people pay money to get the bits.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Using Vista

    I had an about eighteen files Windows Update a couple of days.

    Since then, whenever I open a folder to load, it opens in a new window. I want to open it in the same window.

  • My option "open in a new tab in the same window" has stopped working.

    After working for centuries without any problem, my option "open in a new tab in the same window" has stopped working.  Support suggested that I go to tools, select internet options and open tabs, and then select open in a new tab in the same window option.  I did as instructed and concluded that this option under the tabs was already selected and unchanged.  I changed this option, closed my browser and restarted my computer as instructed.

    As before you follow these instructions, and when viewing online and wish to open a link in a new tab in the same window I once again this desired option.   Internet does not take into account my instructions and opens my link in a new window.  This is extremely irritating.

    Does anyone have a solution?

  • NavigateToURL doesn't open in the same window and refresh of infinity

    I have a project that requires a "skip" button and to go to a url specified in the same window once the animation is complete. The button works, however the navigatetourl in the last image does not.

    Here is the code that I placed in the last picture:

    addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, fl_EnterFrameHandler);

    function fl_EnterFrameHandler(event:Event):void

    {

    Start your custom code

    This code example displays the words "Framework of entry" in the output panel.

    navigateToURL (new URLRequest ("http://www.student.nvcc.edu/home/amlayne/ite170/dreamweaver/graded_assignments/index.html"), '_self');

    ;

    Stop();

    Complete your custom code

    }

    I tried to move it to a previous setting, placing a stop in the previous framework, displacement of the order after stop and so on. No matter what I do, the new url opens in a new window and is in a constant state of refreshment. I also disabled loop but the animation begins to load the first image again anyway.  Help, please. I tried several fixed listed in the forums which are built around the same with no different results.  You can view my animation here: http://www.student.nvcc.edu/home/amlayne/ite170/flash/graded%20assignments/myintro.html

    NOTE: You must close the browser to get the update to stop.

    I have worked on this issue in two days and I am at a total loss.

    the enterframe event is dispatched repeatedly several times per second (equal to your pace) and this isn't what you want.

    Replace all the code with:

    navigateToURL (new URLRequest ("http://www.student.nvcc.edu/home/amlayne/ite170/dreamweaver/graded _ * ignments/index.html"), "_self");

    Stop();
